    I'm actually surprised how lowkey this thing is and how more populair the lawnchair rig seems to be. Personally this is perfect because it's sturdy, has the option of upgrade and most important part that does not get enough praise is the tray holding the chair, my biggest issue solved.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад +4

      For sure Gary; while the F-GT Lite and GT Lite are both fantastic rigs for small spaces, the Wheel Stand 2.0 is an all-round much more robust offering. You'll have no problem running a direct drive wheel on this beast. 👍

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks for your question @@AdamsOlympia. The Wheel Stand 2.0 is certainly sturdy enough to be used with a motion setup. And, in theory, you could bolt some compatible motion actuators to the bottom of the wheel stand, using the mounting points that the feet screw into. I would also assume that you'd need to use the GT seat add-on instead of a regular office seat ( www.adaptnetwork.com/gaming/sim-racing/next-level-racing-gt-seat-add-on/ ). However, I'd recommend reaching out to the motion rig manufacturer to check compatibility, as I'm not 100% sure. I hope that helps. 👍

    Just bought one of these and reasonably happy. I don't trust the folding up of the stand. I really don't want my gear falling over in the middle of the night. The secure bolts also don't hold it closed very well when folded. It's quite heavy. Ok now the negs out the way. Everything you said in the video is bang on.

    I’ve been trying to decide between the F-GT Lite cockpit with a Logitech g923, or a wheelstand with a DD wheel combo. This video might be one of the best/most informative for me. The gaming chair cradle is an absolute game-changer. I have a Herman-Miller that would be really nice to use with this wheel stand. The foldaway capability could be what seals the deal for me, as I’m working with limited space as well.

    Good review! Two tips for future wheelstand/rig reviews:
    1. Maybe use a more powerful (if you own one that is) wheel/pedal-combo to show the viewers how it reacts.
    2. Show more footage of the flex. Where and if it exist. Different angles is key! In this case some other reviewers pointed out the shiftermount was prone to flexing.

    Adjustment of the wheel stand is pretty annoying once you’ve got it all set up. There are no push pins or spring loaded latches - everything is held together by bolts that need an Allen key to loosen and tighten. A friend of mine came over to try out the WS2.0 and I needed to undo 8 bolts to get everything lined up for him which was a pain in the ass, as it prevented us from being able to swap back and forth. I would’ve really liked to have seen some sort of latching or push pin mechanism to quickly adjust some key parts of the stand without having to break out tools and spend 10 minutes adjusting everything. Also, as you mentioned, the unit is very heavy once fully built (and awkward to move through a door due to its width with the shifter plate add on). I race on my pc and my ps5 in the living room and moving the WS2.0 in and out of my office and living room is a pain due to its size and weight - castor wheels would’ve been massively appreciated.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      For sure mate, I would definitely recommend picking up some caster wheels if you need to move the wheel stand between rooms. On a plus side, the extra weight keeps the wheel stand planted when racing hard. Also, good points about the adjustability mechanics.

    Just bought this and I tested it with my g29 bolted down and all, but just the steering wheel without turning it on since I need to do some electronic changes on my pedals, and I got to say that I feel already super satisfied with it in my camping chair that eventually whenever I can afford it at the right time and place I’ll just get the GT seat add on and I already got myself a full rig without any need to by a new rig such as the playseat sensation pro (my TRUE ideal type of racing rig) or an F GT elite/ GT elite which people said that they’re both good as well but all 3 rigs that I’ve just mentioned are quite pricy so that’s why I’d just stick with getting the GT seat add on ngl 😂✌️.

      Thanks for your kind words and question inki. It's hard to say for sure, as this depends on what wheel you have attached to the CSL DD base and the position of your pedals. In terms of driving position, you'll be absolutly fine and will be able to setup a realistic field of view with your monitor. However, I doubt you'd be able to perform normal desk work with the wheel stand in place. While you can position the chair close to the desk, it won't be in a comfortable position. If you're really short on space, your best bet will be to fold up the wheel stand and store it against a wall in your room. Does that somewhat answer your question mate?

      Thanks for the prompt reply!
      I’m using a mix of the BMW CSL P1 V2 and the CS F1 V2. Im used to having the pedals a little further back in real life driving and in my current setup too. If i were to mount the pedals as far back as possible, would you feel I could get them far enough back that it wouldn’t be problematic when I’m right up close to the desk? (I wouldn’t mind if its not quite the best angle as long as it doesn’t really hurt performance) I don’t have particularly long legs or anything (I’m 5 10).
      If i can get the wheel stand in between my desk and chair (my chair is only around 15cm/6 inches from the wall behind it), I would be happy even if its a little tight.
      I will probably have to fold it up every time I use it but I wouldn’t mind that as currently I have to remove the desk clamp, and my handbrake and shifter also have to be clamped to the desk which is a pain since I use my desk for work and other non racing games.
      Thanks again for the help 🙏

      Good question @@TheOneTrueSpLiT. I don't think you'd be able to position the shifter mount in a central position, without modifications. However, you should be able to position it above your left leg. You may need to raise the height to allow enough clearance for your legs to access the rudder pedals. Hope that helps. 👍

      Thanks for your question. Personally, I didn't have any issue with chair rotation, though this somewhat depends on the chair you use. As with braking, the Wheel Stand 2.0 is a pretty robust unit, at 22kg. Would the DD1 work with this?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      Thanks for your question Packzy. I think the Wheel Stand 2.0 is definitely strong enough for both the Fanatec DD1 and DD2. In fact, Next Level Racing has a great video showing the Wheel Stand DD running the DD2 at different force feedback settings ( ruclips.net/video/bjrTMew_-h8/видео.html ). The Wheel Stand 2.0 is very similar in design and construction to the Wheel Stand DD. The only real differnce is that the pedal plate support structure, on the Wheel Stand DD, is welded in place. While this would in theory result in the Wheel Stand DD being slightly more stable than the Wheel Stand 2.0, I don’t think that you will notice that much difference. And, I found the Wheel Stand 2.0 to be impressively stable. Note, in the Next Level Racing demo video, that there is some slight movement in the Wheel Stand DD when running the DD2 at high force feedback settings. So, I would suggest running the DD1 at around 50% for the best overall experience. Hope that helps. 👍

    Can you adjust the angle of the rig so that it can be used under a desk ? My desk is about 72cm high.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      Thanks for your question mate.
      Unfortunately, you can't adjust the angle of the A-frame itself. However, you should be able to adjust the height of the wheel to match your desk height and position the wheel stand so that the pedals are underneath your desk. Hope that helps. 👍

    Getting my 1st setup (csl dd and csl lc Pedals) too. Considering to buy this Wheelstand cuz I need a new chair for my desk aswell. Is it much of a problem with the chair rotating while driving with this stand?

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      Thanks for your question Sameh. The Wheel Stand 2.0 would make an excellent first rig and pair well with the CSL DD. Plus, you can upgrade it to a full rig-using the GT Seat Add-on- down the line. Personally, I didn't have any issue with chair rotation, though this somewhat depends on the chair you use. Hope that helps. 👍

    How do you get it so slim with folding? Mine folds but unfolds a bit for the legs making it take up a good bit of space.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  Год назад

      Thanks for your question Dalejrfan. Do you have a carpeted or hard floor? On a carpet, you can fold the wheel stand quite slim, so that the edges of the feet dig into the carpet to keep it secure. Alternatively, you can lean the wheel stand against a wall, using a cloth between to protect both the wall and your equipment. In either case though, this may put extra strain on the feet. So, if you have the space, it may be better to open the wheel stand out slightly. Hope that helps. 👍

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comment and question Naut. Combined, the shifter and handbrake mount measures about 20 x 20cm. With a bit of cajoling, it should work for most models on the market. Hope that helps. 👍

    I wanna buy the Fanatec DD but can’t decide between this or the F-/Gt Lite…

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for your question Peter. I would personally opt for the Wheel Stand 2.0, as it’s structurally stronger than the F-/GT Lite rigs. While you could run the Fanatec DD on either of the Lite rigs, I think you’ll lose some of the force feedback through vibrations in the frame. Hope that helps. 👍

      @@ADAPTNetwork Thank you for your reply. How low can the wheel stand pro 2.0 go? I’m planning on using it with my TV, but my TV stand is only 40cm tall (TV is 55” oled). I’m worried about the stand being too tall and it obstructing vision to the TV.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад +3

      No worries @@ImJustPeter. In the lowest position, the wheel deck is 69cm from the ground. However, if you remove the shifter mount arm, it can go even lower. It might be worth placing your wheel on some boxes, in front of your TV, to see if this is workable for your setup. Personally, I think you’ll be able to get away with it as your eyeline will be above your wheel, looking down at your TV, and your TV is a decent size to compensate.

      Thanks for your question Doggnutt. For sure, you can definitely use the Wheel Stand 2.0 while sitting on a couch. The gaming chair cradle can be detatched and the wheel stand itself is a pretty robust unit, at 22kg. So, as long as you're not applying excessive break pressure, I think you should be fine.
