If you have a desk set up, I highly recommend the pro flight seat that you can integrate with your desk or with the pro stand. Either one is great, but I like the colors of the Boeing one because it reminds me of the seats I used to work on in the Air Force. The other ones not too bad and if you leave the red seat belts off, it doesn't look too bad. Could save you some bucks.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Thank you! Both for your services and fast replies. I do have the desk right now (but) I think a complete overhaul is due. (Piece by piece) I’ve been eyeballing the standard PRO model as it seems to have more flexibility once you add the Pro Stand. I just needed someone to talk me away from the cool factor that the military edition emits. 😅 I’m not sure I would ever leave the shop if my job was working on jets in any capacity lol 🫡
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Absolutely! and I am enjoying the review videos so far. I made up my mind to get one with Mooch's review but it's nice to see you having some holiday fun!
Roger that, excluding overhead height, the general footprint is 60 inches (5 Ft) front to back with the seat at a comfortable tilt for me. In fact, the headrest doesn't extent past the rear feet. With both plates I have set on each side for HOTAS, it will fit in a 40 inch wide space. 60" x 40" roughly. ~Juice
@@AIRWARFAREGROUPhow many inch wide is just the seat? I think the 39 inch measurement given is with both side mounts? I have an L shaped desk and want to see if it will fit as a regular office chair unless I add side brackets as a sim.
Juice, great video, I too have the seat and as I put in my review best all in on solution right now for the price. Could be better, I lowered my center bar to run my center stick and it's still too high to put my extension on, and I do have to slide more forward. The keyboard is on the right side feels good, I had it on the center for a short period of time. What i love the most is all the adjustability the rig offers. Keep the straps off, they do look cool, but just get in the way after awhile and you will not use them more than once. LOL
Great stuff...we should compare notes next month and send feedback to NLR when they get back from the holidays...They want our input...contact me via Viper Crew Discord sir...Cheers, ~Juice
Hey, very interested to buy but have your same reservations about a center stick with extension mounting. Has Juice found a good solution that can be shared?
Hey there, yes it is very flexible, not perfect or all encompassing, but here’s one solution I found with a simple Google or RUclips search the other day. ruclips.net/video/i1cJLdhIaMw/видео.html
This is cool but the monster tech one is much more adjustable and modular. This is missing front adapatrs to mount mfds and take off panels. Hopefully they work on that for the V2
The MTS pit is also around $2000, or well over that depending on options you choose. If you want the Mts Blackbird seat with the MTS pit you will spend closer to (or over) $3000. Also, it can take 5 months or longer to receive it if you want the seat. For the price, the NLR is an extremely good value, at around 1/4 the price and a few days wait vs close to half a year.
Hey great video!! I ordered one of these and it’s on the way! Could you measure the width of pedal plate including the frame ? Wondering how wide it is up front!! Thank you sir!!
Easy Peezy! 😉 but if you want to just pop one off and put another one on in two seconds, it’s really not designed for that. There are so many holes on the Throttle and stick plates that they will accommodate probably any hardware available for flight simulations.
My biggest question is how is the framework for the seat? Other models used fiber glass. How is this one looking is it metal to metal, metal to wood, or metal to fiberglass?
I was just modifying it today, and can say, it's solid...all metal construction with beefy attachments. I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs. I'm handing this unit down to my Grandson when I retire from DCS someday. ~Grandpa Juice
There was a video online with the seat setup of helios, i remember it looking good but can't find it. The rig handle was set up on the left side not the center, sorry i can't find the video again.
How comfortable is the seat for extended flights. I currently am using a driver's seat out of a Toyota. This looks cool but the padding looks to be on the thin side and I wonder about the comfort.
Do you think its possible to mount some standard armrests? Like the ones you can buy for gaming chairs. I can't find any next level racing armrests dedicated to this system. My rig will arrive in a few days :)
So the seat part is slightly tilted upward at the front and 17” (43.2 CM) and the rear part where the buttocks sits is 16” (40.6 CM). The adjustable feet on the bottom allow you to raise it up about an inch (2.54 CM). Hoping that this helps.
i see it from here... my ass gonna hurt after the 2 hours session, or my back, good looking though, but still i find it expensive, dont get me wrong your video is excellent
All good, I get ya. If it starts hurting my butt, I’ll push a little bit of negative G to get some relief. The sad part of gaming and flying/driving sims is that humans aren’t supposed to sit for too long at a spell because of circulation problems. They say sitting is the new smoking for health impacts. I’m not sure if I’ve ever sat more than 2.5 hours in a sortie. I have this other chair that is really comfortable and my wife wants me to get rid of it. Maybe I’ll post a picture of it in Community tab. Happy New Years to you and yours. ~Juice
You bet...and integrity is something I value in my own reviews. Check out the playlists and I have a few on recent observations of this chair after having it over a year. It's not for everyone, but If I hadn't received this for free to review, and they let me test drive it, I'd say it's worth $800 for what you get. The only drawback is I didn't need about $200 worth of the stuff that is included. For that reason, I recommend people check out the Flight Seat Pro. It's great for people using their desk/monitor stand and have a solution for pedals or don't use pedals at all. nextlevelracing.com/products/flight-seat-pro/
Hmmm. I have about 20' of 1" box tubing, a half sheet of 3/16" plate and a full sheet of 18 gauge sheet metal, and a spare bucket seat. I feel like I could totally weld it together in an afternoon and it would be functionally exactly the same. And not cost me a dime. LOL
@@Macky4941 You gotta be thrifty. A lot of the scrap steel that I have was found dumpster diving behind stores and asking construction sites for scrap. As far as the welder goes, I've had it for about twenty years and I paid $300 for it back then. Still cheaper than an $800 sim pit. Even if I went out today and purchased all the steel needed for this thing. I would be in it for about a $100. Sooooo. Oh and the bucket seat came out of a Fiero that I scrapped 15 years ago.
Thank you for the video. I was looking at this seat, but I have a big booty. I am a heavy dude, and heavy duty chairs are a challenge. I may still buy this rig, and swap out the seat.

I fly helos with a curved extension pole, I don't see a great way to mount my base on this setup without rigging something.
A curved halo stick might be perfect for the option of moving the crossbar under the seat in the front down diagonally towards the foot part.
