Huge HUGE albums - and for a very select few, the best of Ozzy's solo career. Not to diss on Randy (OBVIOUSLY) or the amazing work by Zakk (or even Gus!), but the Jake E Lee albums were amazing, in their pacing, in their sound profile, in the rhythm of the songs, it was totally pure 80's heavy metal. Even Ozzy who doesn't like The Ultimate Sin album, kept Shot in the dark as a staple in the live set. So much great music, so many beautiful sounds and memories.
The first time I heard Ozzy was when my older brother put on the Speak of the Devil album. Those are Black Sabbath songs with a new band. Brad Gillis did an awesome job considering he was also in Night Ranger. Helped Ozzy out big time to meet his recording contract after Randy Rhoades crashed into the house after clipping the tour bus. Listened to that album about 5 billion times. The solo album stuff was just so sophisticated I really didn't understand it but I warmed up to it and saw it's genius. Huge fan.

Yeah you wanna know whats even more legendary? The Rhoads family had to sue Ozzy to get the money Randy had worked for. The F*ckd Randy hard and it makes me sick to see the Osbournes speaking highly of Randy.
He loved Randy like a little brother and after his Father according to Oz himself Randy's death fucked him up more than any other loss because Randy's presence pulled him out of the grief and despair that being fired from Sabbath and his dad's death had landed him in. Ozzy has deserved this place in the HOF for decades. Glad it happened while he can still "semi"appreciate the accolades! And I really don't care who he did or didn't mention - Randy Rhodes was his first shout out, and we all know that was 101% from his heart,
Coming home from school in 1997, discovering my step-dads CD collection, discovering blizzard of Oz, blasting the legit old school Sony power amp and huge speakers to '10' before my parents got home from work, rattling the windows with my first taste of heavy metal... Instantly fell in love with heavy metal. Picked up the guitar soon after and have loved the genre since.

Jelly Roll isn’t a Metal Artist he’s a Country Artist with great sound in that genre I think all their inner ear pieces weren’t working because even Cher sounded off key, it wasn’t some of the artists it was the behind the scenes stuff that made many not sound great. This being said, it was about honoring the artist, and all were old. Jelly roll is a great artist at his own craft don’t judge an artist for all the poor sound of every artist inducted it was a sound issue period, point blank that made the bad worse and the good sound bad. The whole thing should be a do over in the production of off sound they couldn’t hear themselves through their earpieces, don’t judge.
@@AngelHeart1111 Sour notes aside... Jelly's vocals are sub karaoke level. I've never heard the man before and have no opinion of him either way. Not hating, but even if his notes were pitch corrected, that voice and technique would be less than average. I've (obviously) heard the name everywhere over the past few years, with no negative press attached to it which is saying a LOT these days, but to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Ozzy has deserved this place in the HOF for decades. Glad it happened while he can still "semi"appreciate the accolades!
And I really don't care who he did or didn't mention - Randy Rhodes was his first shout out, and we all know that was 101% from his heart,
Yea because they got him for so cheap.
Maynard has so much guts, said he was gunna struggle hard singing Ozzy's music but cared enough about him to go on stage and "fail."
Well said. Much respect for Maynard!
He definitely struggled. I think I would have respected him more if he didn't do it.
he was still better than ordinary sounding jelly roll and billy idol singing out of his range.
@@stevenmichael7770 Ozzy is only a few years from passing, making him happy is so worth it
@backroadbeetle4781 Honestly, I don’t think we have even a few years…..
Reading these comments Ozzy probably would be like: "Who the hell is Jelly Roll?!".
Just like everybody else.
in my head I can hear and see Ozzy saying it in his Ozzy way. It's oh my gosh funny!!!
I think he'd be more confused about it. He'd be more like: "What tha fuck is a jelly roll?"
@@FrankRios2bwho the fuck is Justin biebah? - Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy and Sharon: "Who are Bob Daisley, Jake E Lee and Lee Kerslake? Never heard. Probably some nobodys!"
Call me sentimental but Ozzy’s “All Aboard!!” Gave me chills!!!!!😊
A very special thanks to Zakk for helping Oz stay alive and kicking for all those later years and helping with some great albums.
Mr Wylde my guitar hero
he always went light on the mustard and heavy on the steroids.
Stop dissing Jellyroll, he's not a True rocker, but I think he held his own up there Live and loud up on stage.
Terrible out
No rest for the Wicked is so great album
I love these singers that are singing Ozzy’s songs but not one of them was able to sing Ozzy’s songs, just goes to show how Ozzy is one of a kind !
I get where you're coming from, I think there is also a level of respect for not upstanding Ozzy in his old age now and simply honoring his legacy by performing the songs.
I'm so glad Ozzy made it in! He's deserved it for so long! These performances were absolutely amazing and Ozzy is just a sweetheart!! So happy for him!! 🥰🥰🥰
Sucks that Jake E. Lee wasn’t mentioned, but it’s also time to start putting some serious respect on Wolfgang, he absolutely nailed that Crazy Train solo. He’s not just Eddie’s son, he’s a beast himself.
I’ve said that for about 5 years now!!
Most guitar players who know their stuff, know this.
Jack Black is still fake.😂
21:00 Ozzy looked like he wanted to jump out of that chair and show them how it's really done
He was trying
I'm surprised Zak didn't sing one of those songs.
@@petebrown3715 I was hoping Zakk would sing one. I also think Jack Black could have pulled off an Ozzy song. He hits the higher notes that those other guys couldn't
I was so hoping he would!
@@jsinmayes I hate JB. But he would have done 1000% better than Jelly roll.
Maybe Wolfie should have just sang everything....
I thought the same 😆
Agreed!!
Ozzy is THE man!
Wolfgang really is a blend of his parents.
Yeah, some of his Dad's talent and his Mom's weight
He's really good.
He looks so much like his mom, and he had the best guitar teacher ever.❤
Eddie would be proud of him
@@VRGuy286what a putz. His mom's not fat and Wolfie has slimmed down
Yeah, let’s not really forget about Jake E Lee’s part in this stuff. He made two great albums with Ozzy Osbourne you assholes don’t forget. Jake E Lee is one of the greatest guitar players. Ozzy Osbourne has ever had.. honor him he deserves it. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Sitting in hospital with bullet wounds as this was taped and not even a mention!
Black Sabbath is already in the RR hall of Fame. I believe, this is for Ozzy’s work after that.
@@tcoleman08I believe the comment was in regards to Jake E. Lee. What does that have to do with Black Sabbath
@@denniswilliams2385 - Yep, sorry. I was thinking Tony Iommi
Love Ozzy but it's time to give Jake his credits, he doesn't want money it's all he wants
Dude, Maynard, Jelly Roll, and Billy Idol all struggled bad with some of those notes. Billy was flat for most of the performance. I thought Ozzy was going to stand up, knock him over, and just finish the song himself lol.
YES!!!!!
They definitely should have picked a different group to salute him. These guys really sucked together, even though I love the RHCP and many of the other artists, but DAMN, THEY SOUND HORRIBLE!!!
@@PoppaBadger should have been: Corey Taylor “Slipknot”
Robert Plant “Led Zeppelin”
James Hetfield “Metallica”
Bands that are obviously inspired by Ozzy and worked with him
Over the years all those bands toured with him.
Horrible vocal performances 😢
Dang jelly roll sound good lol
I love Ozzy and that is my nickname 🤟
I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Ozzy a few times. True legend and one of my favorites. Well deserved Ozzy!
Bob Daisley wrote MOST of Ozzy’s lyrics and if not for him there would be no OzzY as we know him today! Bob Daisley was as much a part of Ozzy’s success as OzzY was. Maybe more because like I said, he wrote all of those classic OzzY songs that we all know and love. I love OzzY but him and Sharon need to show Bob the love and give him his due credit!!
Randy was the most important part of Ozzy success, without him there'll never be an Ozzy but what you say is also true
And Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics for Black Sabbath, until Dio joined the band.
Nobody ever recognises the bass player.
He got paid for his work. People don't go to concerts to see Bob.
@@Chiefer42O ozzy is the best front man EVER!
oz is the one musician im a fan of that i cried for because i know hes genuinely grateful to the fans for the life hes been given, after all the strife all the problems all the drugs and alcohol, the prince sits on his throne given a standing ovation. Im so happy for him and for Zakk. This is amazing.
you cant beat that introduction from jack black, the man deserves an award himself for summing up ozzys career so well.
His introduction for led Zeppelin at the Kennedy center was fucking awesome too
Yeah he read what someone else wrote on a teleprompter really well
@@Jab7581 I can't imagine anyone else being able to write something like that. Also, his eyes aren't moving like when you read a teleprompter. But whatever..
@@hmoore23 thank you Holly I believe Jack was sincere and legit on that ,, no doubt. Teleprompter or not..
I skipped it too annoxing
Not one of those singers could do justice to Ozzy. Goes to show, while hailed as the Prince of Darkness for his influence, his vocal abilities have always been greatly underrated.
Meh, he has a bit of a range but not much vibrato. Dio was far better, technically. Does Ozzy have good songs? Absolutely, they both do.
@@BrianHunsakerMusic, I didn't mention Dio anywhere in my comment, so I don't know where you're comment is coming from. Not an Ozzy vs. Dio thing. Yes Ozzy has range. A range none of the singers in this video could manage as every one of them was pitchy. Ozzy was NEVER pitchy.
Its not his range its his tone which is just hauntingly unique
@@CJRamos-jv3pb Ozzy has such a distinct voice that's hard to copy. Maynard probably has a better voice than any of those guys up there.
This induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, couldnt have been more deserved than Ozzy Osborne, who has put out more metal hits than anyone else. With such an iconic voice, no one could match, well deserved, and way overdue. Thank you, Ozzy, for so many years of headbanging songs.
Metal ?? His voice ? Black Sabbath were better with Gillan or Dio
❤❤❤Love love love this man!! I am 56 yrs young and have been listening to Black Sabbath and Ozzy since I was 15. Jack’s introduction was awesome and spot on! Rock on Prince of Darkness! We love you!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Sharon and Randy Rhodes for saving Ozzy and giving us his Solo career! Brought tears to my eyes!
Randy Rhodes is the sound of Ozzy, he set the foundation for all other musicians to incorporate this style to pull from in which to right for Ozzy to sing over.
Been listening to Sabbath/Ozzy my entire life thanks to my dad. Music for the good and bad times, music that lets you know, you’re not alone. Ozzy influenced so many and surprisingly outlived many, including my father. Congratulations Ozzy, you deserve it.
(ALL CAPS AS IAM LEGALLY BLIND) THERE WILL ONLY EVER BE ONE OZZY - NOBODY WILL EVER BE ABLE TO COPY NOR REPLICATE OZZY. A TERRIFIC MAN , HUMBLE AND LOVED WORLDWIDE FOREVER AND EVER. MUCH LOVE FROM VERMONT STATE U.S
All that and a shiny nickel means nothing in the Kingdom of God
Ozzy should have been inducted years ago. He is a shell of himself. It shows how much of a freaking joke the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame is.
I'm pissed it took them this fucking long!!
@@t.d.chapman1284 now they need to induct Maiden, Queensryche, Styx, and Kansas.
He was with Black Sabbath
Not even The Cramps either
When they started inducting artists that were NOT rock-'n'-roll, yeah... that's when it ended for me
That Crazy Train guitar solo was a real love letter.
Don't forget also that his collaboration with Lita Ford on Close My Eyes Forever charted as high as number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
God praise that!! Lita/Ozzy...best duo ever!!! 🤘🤘
This just goes to show how amazing Ozzys voice. So glad I got to see him perform live back in the 90s
Whoever chose the vocals lineup needs a slap 🤦🏻♀️
I gotta agree. Jelly roll? they shoulda had the singer from Black Sabbath
@@mickywinters8451 I agree. These singers didn't do well.....Maybe because I am trying to hear Ozzy's voice in my head.
@@cho5577: No, they just sucked. I was in tears before they started to sing. Then I got angry. Why didn’t they choose a couple of vocalists who can still sing in tune FFS?
They fucked up, indeed
I think it was perfect because they show there's just one Prince Of Darkness - Mr. Ozzy Osbourne
When he mentioned Randy I bursted out to tears
LIke so many great singers, it's when you see other singers attempt their material that you realize how great and unique they are. Certainly true for Ozzy.
their in-ears were off, or they are tone-deaf. All of them sucked. It is not about how special Ozzy's voice may be, it is just about being in tune, not immitating his voice.
when you decide to use rappers and god knows what else, what did you xpect/ total shitshow.
That was about f-ing time. Ozzy is one of the greatest, if not the greatest. I still remember when I first heard "Bark at the moon", which was one of my entries to the metal world. Thanks for that, madman. Love ya!
Congrats Ozzy! A lifetime of success deserve some recognition!
So cool they got Will Ferrell rockin the drums!!!
😂
He hates that lol
Just goes to show, no one can replicate Ozzy's voice.
I mean, all those singers have voices in a lower register too. Ozzy is a unique singer, but those were the wrong singers to pick for his music too.
Look up sheavy the band. Especially their first three albums.
you made my life better, ozzy. thankyou very much for keeping on keeping on.
Zakk is still killing it!!!
Wow Wolfgang and Zakk were off the hook. The singing tho; just goes to show how great of a singer Ozzy is.
OZZY thanked the most important people; The Fans. Long live The Prince of Darkness.
Should have definitely mentioned Jake E Lee
and Bob Daisley!!
@@Imperialmusicfanwhat happened to Bob Daisley? Jake E Lee was shot multiple times about a week ago
@@hysteria697 Yeah, Ozzy sent him a message as well after it happened. He mentioned Randy Rhoads here so thought he could have mentioned Bob Daisley as well since he played a pretty important role in the early stages of Ozzy's solo career.

Great induction for Ozzy! And some greats joining tribute including Zak, and incredible to see Wolfgang deliver a Randy Rhodes solo in flawless execution was icing on the cake!
Ozzy saved many lives with his music.. Congratulations 🎉
These performances only show how truly remarkable Ozzy is. One of the greatests, the greatest for me
Damn! Wolfgang never fails to impress me. He plays with such ease like his dad did.
I seriously wasn't expecting him to pull these chops off. They are not 12/10 in difficulty level but boy are they up there in terms of technique, control and precision. I guess, perhaps practicing he slowly started reaching some his dad's potential?
@@PhilipAlexanderHassialis he watched his awesome dad
@@Carlabowen0906 yet he was taught by someone else, he says so
Well of course, his name is van halen
Holy shit that Jelly Roll can’t hit a note to save his life.
Whoever thought having him sing was a good idea needs to not have a job anymore. Lol
For sure
@@AngelHeart1111 Sour notes aside... Jelly's vocals are sub karaoke level. I've never heard the man before and have no opinion of him either way. Not hating, but even if his notes were pitch corrected, that voice and technique would be less than average. I've (obviously) heard the name everywhere over the past few years, with no negative press attached to it which is saying a LOT these days, but to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
Awful
You could put every front man that lives up there for tribute..and it’s just proves there is only one OZZY !!
I'm glad Will Feral could be there to play the drums 🤘🤘
Ozzy can still go!! He could’ve performed a song from that chair and it would’ve been awesome!
