It’s not much, but I’ve always headcannoned that a majority of hit newbies were eventually relocated to work the great waterton branch. Molly and neville do any and all jobs needed, billy became the station pilot and Hank became the branch’s heavy goods engine.

In my headcannon, the Peel Godred branch is its own separate railway. Instead of it just going up to Killdane and Peel Godred, it starts at Balladwell (which has been moved to the southern coast of Sodor) to Harwick. Several lines including the Great Waterton Branch, Norramby Branch and Bluebell line have been added to the railway and engines like Molly, Murdoch, Arthur, Billy etc. work the line. Additionally, Ulfstead castle was never Ulfstead Castle but rather Peel Godred Castle. Within the walls of the castle there is a railway museum and demonstration line. Engines like Hank, Connor, Catlin, Stephen, Glynn, etc. stay here and in winter, the final train of Christmas is pulled by Hank from Tidmouth to Barrow and back again and it is called, "The Polar Express".

Diesel 10 is a class 42 warship. The real warships were numbered in the D800 range making Diesel 10’s true number D810. The real D810 was named Cockade.
My headcanon is that in 1972 when all the Warships were being scrapped Cockade avoided the cutter’s torch by being fitted with a claw and becoming an official scrapyard engine. He would have had to scrap his own brothers and sisters, and stripped himself of his name out of shame. He is now only known by his number.
Diesel 10 hates steam engines because now they’re often loved and protected by people while the diesels usually get treated badly. Nobody cares for them and they can easily be replaced by another should they break down. At least, that’s how he sees it (even though he’s still in use and two of his siblings are preserved)

I’ve got two headcanons for Fearless Freddie: 1. He worked with Stuart and Falcon at the Sodor Aluminum Mines before the Thin Controller bought the two and renamed them Peter Sam and Sir Handel, respectively, leaving Freddie to be bought by another railway on the Mainland (until he’d have been bought as a new addition to the Blue Mountain Quarry). 2. The reason he was given the nickname, ’Fearless Freddie,’ is because he singlehandedly saved workmen from a landslide disaster in the mines around the time he worked there with Stuart and Falcon.
I’ve considered this and more for my own Thomas & Friends RUclips series, which I hope to get off the ground soon. I’d tell you more headcanons I came up with, but I’d run out of time to play the PIANO.

When the engines breath, we'll say steam engines, they draw air into their systems like you would to draw up the fire in the fire box. Peter Sam's special funnel, draws more air in giving him more breath for more strength. For diesels, they have air systems and filters. Basically a filter that needs replaced would be like of a diseased smokers lung than needs transplanted. And Electric engines are just robots.

    Piano.
My headcanon is for why Diesel 10 has his claw. Basically it's that he was designed as the tenth Diesel in a line of experimental Diesel maintenance engines.
Basically they took ten Class 42 Warships and modified them with scrap claws designed to pick up debris on the tracks, (like how we see in Calling all engines). After the modification was done the ten diesels were sent to a railway with Diesel 10 getting Sodor. This was for a test run to see if they worked. Though at first the classes seemed to be working very well. Due to the Diesel's prejudice against steam engines and the fact they had what is essentially a scrapper claw. They began to use it as a weapon against the Steam engines. This combined with the fact that it gave them a superiority complex meant that the engines and the works both did not like them very much.
However that was only one problem. The other problem was how costly the modification was meant that it was rejected and never went into mass production. Eventually the modified Class 42s save for Diesel 10 who Sir Topham Hatt mostly relegated to the scrap yard got decommissioned. Diesel 10 did not learn of this until much later and blamed the steam engines thinking that it was because people found them more popular. For that reason he set out on a crusade to find a way to destroy them all.
My second headcanon is actually something explained in a fanfiction I wrote on AO3. It's the reason Edward, Duke, Oliver, Donald, and Douglass don't appear in Thomas and the Magic railroad.
Starting off the reason Edward isn't there is because Sir Topham Hatt had taken him on Holiday as his personal train which is a common thing for him to do.
As for Duke, Oliver, Donald, and Douglass. The reason they were not seen is because they were elsewhere on Sodor. Duke and Oliver were working on the Little Western and Donald and Douglass were working up near the lock.
A third Headcanon I have is more for another AU I have which is that Lady isn't magic. It's just rumored she is. Though it is also implied that though she doesn't have magic. She does have mild psychic powers that manifest in the form of telepathy. But only really works with those she has a close bond with. This allows her to communicate with that individual from a long distance. It is also possible that it's that power which is what people confuse with magic. Though again even with that power it is unknown if it's real or not.
Anyway there are three of mine.

PIANO One of my headcanons is that Toby's old tramway used to run from Sodor to the mainland and would go over the Vicarstown bridge, this explains why the Sodor tramways sign has Toby on it, because he worked on that railway, and it eases my mind knowing that all those episodes with Toby's branchline are accurate.

Hi, in my headcannon, the Ffarrquhar Branch is a tramway and branches at Elsbridge. It goes through the town as a tramway and the through Ffarrquhar again as a tramway. Toby has been operating the line since 1909 (yes he is one of the early J70s) and he has a brother called Timothy (also J70) and they have four of these coaches like Henrietta. Thomas also gets side plates and cow catchers in 1926 and his coaches are Annie, Beatrix and Clarabel. They are Stroudley Coaches like in the TVS . Percy only works on the harbour line and has only cowcatchers. Daisy works there and just has a lower body wich covers her wheels. Mavis is just as in the RWS. She has a sister called Rose which is unpowered and hung to her back (for ease of modelling).

David, the ivatt class engine, My OC, was never seen on Sodor, since he could have been sold off back to the LMS. He was put to work at the Colorado Freight yard, as the LMS bought it from CSX Corporation. It was a pretty big yard, as he worked there alongside 41241, Arthur, and others. After diesels started taking over, he was sold to the Union Pacific to run excursion trains, alongside 844 and 4014.
David was later sent to the north western railway in 1956 to help with the reconstruction of the harbor branch line. He was painted blue with an orange lining, which was a stark contrast to his former LMS black.
He was numbered 41246, from his original number, 48366.

The reason the show's consistency between seasons and characters constantly switching around is due to the show writers going to see all the engines, who are nearing their Hundreds or 90s so their memories are rather fuzzy, explaining the random nature of episodes like Up, Up, and Away, or Wonky Whistle, or even Henry's Special Coal.

Paxton and Emily were saved from scrap and then brought to sodor and then to be later painted in S&M green to commemorate the railway.
Charlie, Billy and Fergus were later bought to the railway due to the lack of shunters, small goods engines etc. And were to work along side Adam, Lily, Colin and Edward. Charlie and Billy were used for shunting and hauling small goods ti the docks and back, Fergus was used for maintenece from Wellsworth to Suddery

(May be related to a project I’m working on)
Thomas and friends is actually a show based on the real engines that are on the island that were driven by drivers that the characters were named after. Meaning that in my head cannon all the characters are humans (as we only saw them as trains and it would be fun to see what it’s like if they’re humans) Also Thomas would be Percy’s older brother instead of best friends and Edward is both of their dad(Don’t ask me why The Adventure Begins and Trampy movies explain it) and both Thomas and Percy were taken away to one of Edwards’ younger brothers house where they’re treated really horribly and made a great escape from it on June 16th 1919 and yes my head canon takes place in the 1920s so that means if the characters are humans the trains don’t talk so that no one can hear the engines screaming in pain when being scrapped.

I have a headcanon - it explains why Henry's behavior is so different in the later seasons compared to the Railway Series or classic seasons, but it also lines up with his characterization in the Railway Series and classic seasons.
So - Henry is a rude, stuck-up, bully-type in the Railway Series and classic seasons, and it can already be implied that it is more due to him feeling insecure rather than being truly mean-spirited (Henry's Forest really adds to that). He feels a little too big-headed now that he is a much more capable engine with his new shape, but at the same time, he doubts himself, and tries to bully others to make himself feel better. On top of that, he actually does feel scared and worried a lot, but he puts on this fake "tough guy" personality to hide the fact that he is actually a worrier (Haunted Henry might be a good example of this).
In the Season 7 episode "What's The Matter With Henry", Henry feels so ill he doesn't bother trying to be tough, and when Emily helps him out, he begins to rethink his life. He realizes that he wasn't always paying attention to just how kind some of the others were to him, even when he didn't deserve it himself. He begins to soften up, and drops that fake "tough guy" attitude, and becomes more caring and kind rather than standoffish and defensive. Thus, he is a much nicer character.
But, Henry's tendency to worry never goes away, and now that he has stopped trying to hide his insecurity. Now that it is on full display, he becomes a full-blown hypochondriac, which he is in the later seasons.

PIANO; The Engines can have kids if you think about it hard enough. If e.g. Whiff locks in and learns about engineering and all components to make a train. Then Whiff tells Fat Hatt to hire an artist (Who doesn't know about train design). Whiff tells the artist every line he draws. Then they build the train. Since the designer counts as the parent of the engine, Whiff would be the father.

In my head canon the reason James is so worried when he as a scratch on him is because when he got his accident he was in a bad state but he also felt he didn’t belong on the railway for being a dark color and his red paint made him feel better but when a scratch it reminded of his crash and his past so it explains why James is so angry at the trucks so he as grew anxiety.

I have many head-canons about T&F, but I think I'll just share this one.
So, every one know about the ghost of the Half Engine, right? But in my head-canon, she's the sister of Billy & Charlie and worked on the W&S Railway along side them. In the original story, she had literally half a face, but in this AU of mine, she's just half blind which makes her still the laughing stock by some workmen, her brothers, and even the manager in charge of the railway. And just before the NWR was in the final touches of coming together as one big railway. The W&S controller told her that he had sold the Half (-Blind) Engine to the Sodor and Mainland Railway. But it was a lie to have her dumped in the forest of one of the S&M’s old yards. Left behind for so many years. Years later, the story of the Half Engine was spread around by some explores as they heard some unholy screaming, which is actually her being afraid of spider(s), and James heard that story and told it to the other engines. She was rediscovered by Thomas and he tried to help her, but she was afraid that she'll be betrayed again. Later, Thomas told Edward everything about the truth about the Half-Blind Engine, James overheard their conversation and felt bad about it. After Edward talk to The Half-Blind Engine who's revealed to be named "Iris", she allows him to take her to the Works to be restored. Sir Topham Hatt arrived with James to see Iris, he was welcomes her to the NWR with open arms, as for James, he apologize to Iris to telling that awful story. Iris is painted in Caledonian blue (like Donald & Douglas) with the number 14 on her side, she also wears a special eye patch for her blind eye. She now works with Arthur (NWR #13) at the Harwick Branch Line along with the Little Western Engines.
(As for what happened to Billy & Charlie...SCRAPPED.)

🎹Piano! My AU for Mighty Mac is that Mighty was originally a single Narrow Gauge Engine and he felt kinda lonely when he was shunting, so he asked his controller if he can be rebuilt to be a Double Fairlie because he wanted to have company while he’s working. But it backfired, so him and Mac weren’t working and mostly arguing. But Sir Topham Hatt bought them because he needed another Narrow Gauge Engine. Mighty Mac then came and they asked Skarloey and Rheneas where they go because they’re new there and before the old engines can tell them they argue and that’s why they don’t know where to go in the episode

    1. My headcanon is that the show is actually just crew members re-enacting stories the engines told to them when Awdry, Brenner or Britt visited Sodor.
    2. Thomas had the problems the E2 had pre Sodor and was rebuilt at Crovan’s Gate.

    1. The two Henry's theory is technically what happened.
Basically, in Crewe Henry's face (smokebox door) was removed off the engine, and the dimensions matched that of a Stanier 5 which it was fitted onto. Henry's rebuilds didn't take long for that reason.
    2. Percy was built on-site at Crovan's Gate works, and diagrams were drawn for about 3 more members of his class. Unfortunately, the Crovan's Gate fire occured during the 30s and the drawings were destroyed and the works stopped producing engines entirely. Interestingly, a second member of this class was half finished. After the fire, no traces of it were found, but a man (Burnett Stone) had smuggled the remains up north. He passed away sometime in the 50s/60s and the engine has been dusting away in his workshop.
    3. Sodor isn't viewed as a 'safe haven' by most on the other railway. The engines are considered to be weird and act irrationally.
A lot of engines would consider a safe haven to be the Bluebell railway, or the Dean Forest. Topham sees this as a blessing because he is quite content with his famous engines.

So here is my au for Timothy. He was a j69 tank engine, and arrived on Sodor in a grey undercoat. Upon arrival, they gave him red lining, and some other things to make him feel complete, but left him grey and numberless. Engines joked that he was the ‘number zero engine’, which Timothy found funny. When Thomas arrived, Timothy became kinda like an older brother to Thomas, and Thomas looked up to him. He had a strong bond with Thomas and Edward, and they were all close. Then, one faithful day, Timothy was pulling a passenger train up the line, but just before the last station, his breaks failed, and he shouted for his crew to uncouple the coaches, and jump clear. His crew said goodbye and did so. The coaches stop just outside the station, but Timothy plunged into the gap, sealing his fate. Some of the lined engines often said Timothy did it on purpose, leading Thomas to burst out. Sodor took a while to recover from it. But some still say that ‘every year, on the date of the accident, he runs again, as a warning to others, plunging into the gap, shrieking like a lost soul.’

Anyways, in my head-canon, the “Number 2” talked about in Grandpuff is NOT in fact Stanley, but was the original mid sodor No.2, “Fletcher Jennings,” and engineer similar is design to Rheneas and Dolgoch, but sporting a different cab. She had many opinions and wasn’t afraid to express them, and was very much disliked by The Manager, as well and Duke. She ended up as the railway’s scapegoat, and derailed on tight curves often, due to her long wheelbase. Due to this, she was nicknamed “Reputation Smudger,” by Duke. After a particularly bad munitions accident in 1903 resulting in extreme damage to Jennings and the death of her Crew, the manager stripped her of her wheels and converted her into a generator for the main sheds. She was accused of causing the second Alberts death in 1924, so the Manager decided to shut her up for good. She was moved to one of the mines later that year, and has not been seen since. Dukes telling of the tale is 80% false. It is only what he chooses to believe. In reality, Jennings was kind and charismatic kind of engine, and a friend to most who got to know her. Stanley still exists, and took the role as shed generator later in 1924.
Oh yeh, Jennings is trans. I can provide some sketches of her if you want.
Note: she has side plates, and she was originally painted in MSR Boatrain Blue, but was repainted into MSR maroon some time before her withdrawal

A Denver & Rio Grande C-16 2-8-0 named Randall for the mainline

Toby & Rhiannon (one of Molly's sisters in my AU) treated her kindly while the bigger engines bullied her. Toby would always come to Molly's defense. Molly was eventually withdrawn and bought by a private owner who just kept her in a shed. Molly's owner eventually died and his children sold her to Sir Topham Hatt because they felt she deserved better. When Molly arrived on Sodor she was painted GER Blue. The Fat Controller asked what color she wanted to be painted and she chose yellow, because it reminded her of the summer. Toby suggested Topham purchase her because he knew she was reliable and dependable. Molly was extremely happy to see Toby when she came to Sodor. Toby rightfully tore Emily a new smokebox when he heard that she had made fun of Molly. Emily appologized to Molly. Molly is shy because she was bullied near constantly on the GER. As shown in the Unlucky Tug's CGI map video, there is a line from the mainline that goes up to ulfstead castle(also a popular spot for tourism in my AU), and the ffarquhar quarry (witch is connected to the blue mountain quarry, because as also shown in tug's CGI map video there is a line from the blue mountain that goes to ulfstead, so i like to belive it was later extended to ffarquar after beeching), witch are the only places on the ffarquhar branch that did not close.

Timothy (the ghost engine) was LBSCR #100 and worked at Southampton Docks with his siblings until the S100s (Rosie & her siblings) were brought on to replace the E2s, when Timothy heard about this, he knew his fate would quickly approach, so one night, Timothy & his crew prepped him to make an escape to Sodor (as they heard in the newspaper that it is a safe haven for steam engines). Timothy was able to make it to Bridlington yards (seen in JBS) but saw that it was infested with diesels, he then met Hurricane, and went with him to the Steelworks so that he could hide, there, he met Frankie, and was forced to do work for repayment of helping Timothy hide there, he was able to escape there but was caught by diesels before making it to Barrow, he was able to make a mad dash over the Vicarstown Rolling Bridge and was able to get to Knapford, where he met Topham, and was able to be bought and reunited with Thomas,. He was checked over at Crovan's Gate Steamworks and now pulls local trains to Vicarstown.

My theory with the cursed Flying Kipper is that years before Henry took the train, there was another engine that pulled it. One day the engine was involved in a terrible accident with the Flying Kipper and the driver and fireman jumped before the crash. Feeling betrayed the engine cursed the train with his/her dying breath which is why the Kipper has such bad luck

I have many headcanons, so ima gonna condense ‘em.
    1. There used to be many railways on the island. The Railroad (1800 to 1860), Crovan’s Gate and Rolf’s Castle Railway (1860 to 1910), Vicarstown, Ballahoo, and Noramby Railway (1875 to 1910), Tidmoth coastline Railway (1890 to 1948), Brendam Railway (1885 to 1948), and North Western Railway (1910 to 1948).
    2. I imagine that Sodor had its own version of nationalization in 1948 with Sodor Railways (A.K.A. SR) that was a merger between NWR, TCR, and the Brendam Railway. It has stayed that way even through privatization and preservation eras.
3: I think that if he did exist, Gordon would be the last pure A-1 Pacific left alive today. The rest of his brothers would have received the A-3 rebuild when he didn’t.
4: That diesel 10 was a serial killer and anti-steam revolutionary. Like diesel, but more facist like. However, he does become redeemed by Topham Hatt when he calls him back to help build the airport. He is better now and helps out at the Smelters.
5: I imagine there have been 4 Hatts that have been in charge; Derek (topham the first), Charles, Stephen, and Bertram.
6: that the stories in the railway series actually happened in the same year that Wilbert Awdry published the books that they took place in.
7: along with being a Reverend/Vicar and railway enthusiast, that Rev. W. Awdry also was a Sodor Historian, regular visitor, and volunteer on SR after his time on the Tallylyn Railway ( which would explain why he knew the engines and railway so well).
And finally 8: That Daisy has a relationship with one of her drivers. Then again, I ship myself with her so much 😂❤.

In my head canon, once Percy matures from being, “The child” he ends up leading a Labour movement on Sodor. (this started off when I watched the Thomas characters political opinions video which if you see I recommend as it’s pretty funny). I believe that this would have started, back in day of the diesel, where diesel 10 would have sown the seeds in his mind. I believe that after the fat controller retired or died, his son would inherit the railway, but not the love of engines. The fat controller’s son, would slowly phases out the steam engines.( all the engines which don’t have a real life counterpart now, were at some point sold off or scrapped, except for Thomas he is still around). Originally the steam engines would be split on joining Percy, but the tipping point for the steam engines would be the selling or scraping of Gordon.( I know he’s based off the Scotsman, but the Scotsman is canonically a character, so r.i.p. Gordon). Gordon would have led the opposition to Percy, so his death would show the steam engines that they are all expendable. As for the diesels, I think diesel 10 and the majority of diesel would side with tophamhat’s son, as it’s the diesel’s who are being brought in to replace the steam engines. However, devious diesel would actually be working with Percy and would help to hide the engines, that are to be scrapped. However, with the introduction of the modern electric engines, now the diesels are also being being phased out. This eventually culminates into a complete sabotage, of the railway. Eventually lady hat, would find out about all of this and remove her son as controller, but by that point the damage was done. The engines were sold off to heritage railways or shunting yards in order to keep them alive. (as son hat, had taken away almost all the engines away from Sodor) Because of the events the engines would stop talking too traumatised by everything. Except for one Thomas the tank engine, who is now hired out by different railways for fun day outs and tells people everything that happened on Sodor, from when he first arrived on the island to the end of Sodor’s railway. In my head it ends with all the engines meeting up and remembering the good times as Thomas and Percy look into the sunset. (Sometimes the ending is the fat controller waking up from a nightmare, also son hat is meant to represent Mattel and thanks for reading if you’re here) 😄🚂🚂

After Diesel played his trick on Fergus, he was sent to work at the smelters and after that, the Fat Controller sent Diesel back to the other railway as usual.
But when Diesel got back to the other railway, the Mainland controller was sick of Diesel causing trouble for them so he told Diesel to find another railway to live on.
So Diesel went back to Sodor and he came across Mavis and he tells her what happened.
Mavis goes to the fat controller and tells him about Diesel, and when the Fat Controller sees that the Mainland no longer wants Diesel, the Fat controller finally decides to purchase Diesel, and he sends Diesel to work at the quarry with Mavis.
which is why we see Diesel at the quarry in "Thomas to the rescue"

Here are some headcanons of my own.
    - In my headcanon, Rosie was originally painted in pink/lavender/whatever you like to call it, but after several years of wearing it, namely in 1987, Rosie decided to switch to a different color as her bright pink attracted Dirt and Grime really easily. As James was leaving the works at about the same time, Rosie chose to be repainted into North Western Red, and it is this color that she wears in present day.
    - Toby is actually an ancient prototype for the the GER's Tram Engines, being built in Ireland in 1893 and worked on the Cregwir and Harwick Tramway in the North of Sodor. When his line closed down in 1903, he was sold to the Great Eastern Railway, who would assign him to the tramways in East Anglia and base their class C53 Tram Engines off of him. The RWS backstory takes over from here.
    - During Dr. Beeching's cuts to British Railways, the special coach service that Thomas and Gordon would operate was canceled, and the coach used for the service, Annie and Clarabelle's sister Lisa, was reassigned to the Ffarquhar Branch Line, where she still works beside he siblings behind Thomas in present day.

    Piano:
Ok I have a few headcanons here:
1: Fearless Freddie, was the MSR's No.7, and when the railway was selling off engines during the late 30s early 40s, Freddie was acquisitioned by the War department, and had a hand in helping to liberate France from the Germans. He earned the Fearless title after charging into ememy territory to rescue a stranded platoon and returned to base miraculously unscathed. After the war he worked around several other industrial lines in the UK until returning to Sodor in the 1980s. However at that time he was under private ownership, and his owners just so happened to like the battleship grey colour he wore during WW2. Technically speaking, Freddie should have been SKR no.9, but wouldn't be taken under SKR ownership until his owners passing in 1997, after which he became SKR No.11 and often tours the other narrow gauge lines in the UK as the Skarloey ambassador (similar to how the Ffestiniog's No.1 did during the 2010s)
    2. Terence is not the only tractor in the surrounding agricultural land on the Ffarquhar branch, as a matter of fact, Terence's owner had about 3 tractors total, this includes the blue fordson we see illustrated in "Tramway Engines", and red Massey Ferguson 35 with a frontloader (who barely ever comes close to hackenbeck paddock aka Terence's field) the fordson took over much of the fieldwork jobs Terence did in the 1950s and 60s, leaving Terence stuck in the shed for much of the year unless he's called upon for ploughing fields and snow. Hence the reason why we rarely see Terence after his first appearance in both the RWS and TVS. He's also extremely pleased to be outside whenever he's brought out of the shed, hence the comment, "Nice day for it, isn't it?"
    3. Trevor has a grudge against tractors, specifically because Terence was one of the tractors that put Trevor out of work in the first place.
    4. James really did have a 3 chime steam whistle. Specifically a WAGR 3 chime which he wore for a brief period after his old whistle was clogged thanks to the incident with the tar wagons. He wouldn't wear the 3 chime for very long, as not only was it a temporary fix, but Henry and Gordon got crazy Jealous of James' whistle, and made everyone in a 50m radius jump with shock. The same 3 chime James had would later be given to Sir Handel shortly after arrival on the SKR in the 50s.

Bertram worked on the Mid Sodor Railway as a tender engine, he was extremely arrogant and boastful, a contrast of Duke.
One day, he got “Cut Down To Size” and was rebuilt a tank engine, after a while, he started to reflect on his past self and matured more and more.
One time, the excavating shed set on fire, Bertram took workman away as fast as he could, when he heard he left a workman behind, he rushed into the fire to save him, unfortunately he derailed on the points, as the workman ran off, Bertram was killed in the fire, people called him “The Old Warrior”
Many years later, Toby comes to the abandoned mines (the mines had track for both narrow gauge and standard gauge to transfer goods) when sparks from his funnel set ablaze a small work shed (Toby didn’t realise however) Bertram called out for Toby and warned him about the situation, after the whole ordeal was put to rest, Bertram was rescued and rebuilt into a tender engine.

In my headcanon thomas is a custom one of a kind 0-6-2 he was built an 0-6-0 and made for shunting and purchased by the nwr as a station pilot.
His brakes often failed which lead to the event of thomas and the trucks and he had inadequate fuel capacity a small bunker and no extended side tanks
When he was rewarded his branchline passengers often complained that the ride was uncomfortable so when the events of thomas came to breakfast happened he was given trailing wheels a straight running board extended side tanks a bigger bunker and better functioning brakes.
He was purchased with the number one already on his side tanks as he was his creators first built locomotive, seeing how glynn was too old thomas just kept the number one.
(Glynn was also moved to a railway museum shortly after thomas’ arrival)
Since that one is quite long i have a shorter one
Engines age based on how much they are used since they are machines
For example if 5 years took place and in those 5 years thomas was in his shed doing nothing and edward was working hmself to shreds Thomas would physically be younger and in a better working condition
This is an excuse to have gordon be older than thomas

    • @noname-iw3tj
      @noname-iw3tj Месяц назад

Or this even shorter one the reason Thomas didnt like stanely is because he stanely was basically a newer version of him basically a mirror of his younger self he hated stanely because his existence reminded himself he was getting old which lead to jealousy and thomas wanting to prove to others that he is still young and not replaceable which is why he acts more immature in the movie
