I promised my wife of make us end tables about 6 months ago. And I've had no idea how I was gonna do it cause I just got into wood working. This video is gonna help alot.
Good job man.that pocket hole jig really helps..don't mind these peoples comments.at least you are doing something and they just sit back and criticize
I just saw this video is from 5 years ago, but hey, it’s a great video and it helped me out today, 5 yrs later!!💪🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼 Going strong! I’m trying to get ideas for a small table with a door on the front. I assume the “Small table” words in my search must be what made your video come up first…but I’m glad it did. Awesome job! I hope you’re still enjoying your tables - and for many years to come. *side note: when you said your wife rearranged the living room so now you need to make two side tables. And later added “I gotta get this done today.” I was like 😱🤯 absolute mind blowing! Here’s a scenario of what would happen at my house: “hey look, I rearranged the living room.” Too bad we don’t have a small table here we could use. (Those exact words have been spoken many times. We’ve looked in stores - nothing available.so… his response? ….. 🦗chirp🦗chirp🦗chirp” … “hey, did you hear me? Anyone want to come see what I did?” Maybe my husband comes and looks at it from the second story catwalk (not quite interested enough to walk alllll the way down stairs.🙄and then he simply says, “cool”. Then walks away. 🤷🏼♀️👀 what?! That’s all I get??? If he said, “ you want some side tables? I’ll go make you some (and have them ready in 24 hrs - and let’s add they have to be safe and functional working tables.😉😗)….I think I’d pass out! 😨😱🤣🤣🤣🤪 sounds like you’ve got a good thing going. Congrats on it all and a great video too!👍🏼 …. Now if you happen to have a plan (or plan it for your next video) for one that’s about 28”-30” square and 3-5’ tall with solid sides and a door in front, would you pleeeeeeaaaaasssseee let me know??🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I have a chameleon and I’d like yo build a table for his enclosure to sit on. (Asap) My plan is for the drainage bucket to be hidden behind the door, yet very easy access to empty. And a simple little shelf in there would give me a place for his minerals and vitamins. So I’m on the hunt for ideas… trying to see if I can do this. Lol I think I can…. But if you could wish me luck, that would be great and sooo appreciated!! You bI need all I can get!😂😅 thx again for the video and inspiration!! And I’m case you haven’t guessed…you definitely got a sub and a like from me!😉🙌🏼 Keep making these awesome vids and we will certainly keep coming back! You have solid skills and it’s nice to see a well thought out plan come to fruition!😊 Have a good one!
Nice tables. I plan to build a couple of tables myself. This gives me in a good starting place. I'm glad that you added the cross braces. That was my only concern about what you had done. Great Job! Thanks for taking time to make the video.
Nice build! I noticed adds for end tables under your video. One for $90 and another for $390 and I gotta say they looked like about $20 in material as well. So nice job and a ton of savings!
Haha!!! Seems like I just can't get through a project without a few of them popping up. But then again, that's the best way for me to learn....is by my mistakes!!
My new project for next weekend. I think these will work great in my theater room we cant find tables the ight size to go between the reclines I purchased. Thanks for the step by step directions
Popo: Nice video, and thanks for showing your faux pas gluing in the plugs before the screws. Makes me feel better about the dumb things I have done. As to the third hand you needed, take a look at the Kreg right angle clamp. One jaw has the usual flat pad, the other has an end made to fit into a pocket hole. Just don't set it to clamp too tight on a hole parallel to to the grain or it can break out the pocket. I have two, but rarely need more than one.
Enjoyed your video. The tables turned out nicely and I’m sure they are still going strong. I’m glad you ended up adding one more brace across the bottom I think that was a good call
I did not plan to make use of this woodworking book, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* but instead curious about it. I had been truly amazed right after trying it. I was seeking to learn more about the art of woodworking, and was not disappointed. I found many topics such as wood types and designing your workshop.
This is an awesome project for me to build one day. Great video. I think I would add two more braces to the top to finish it all around. Amazing how one piece of wood can be used to make a simple project.
Sorry I know this video is 2 years old, but just wanted to say... Well done sir! I’m happy to see that nice quality furniture can be made with cheaper lumber. Those are some really nice side tables. You’ve inspired me to try something! Also nice to see a shop setup that just WORKS. It’s not super fancy, with shiny new tools and perfect lighting. It’s tough old tools that get the job done. You are the real deal bro. 2 suggestions I would make: Invest in various clamps for holding your project as you screw it together. You got lucky with the leg and table top pulling together at the last minute there. With a soft lumber like that you could have blown out the wood and ruined the stained/poly’d table top. Also, if you’re going to play music, consider playing it during the saw cuts and drilling, and keep the same type of music. Try to normalize the volume for the whole video so your voice isn’t real low and the music isn’t real high. Again, 2 year old video, I’m sure your videos have only gotten better. I can’t wait to see more!
Clamps come in handy if you don't have another hand ..you need sealer before stain so it doesn't make that dark mark, also i find the gel stain better it doesn't run, and no wasting :) i like that you sanded and used router i sold my router set damn i need to get another i think it's easier than sanding as much as i do Thanks
Super. The reason why the second leg had a 2mm gap while screwing is lack of enough pressure. If you had a timbre with clamp and when the top is wedged between the timbre and the leg then it would be bang on . Nevertheless you did end up with a nice table.Super kreg gig.
Thanks for the video. I have successfully convinced my wife, thanks to the video, that I can build this. Now I need to find out how to get the material. Can you please share what type of wood it is? Thanks
Great video. Only suggestion is to balance the music level with the voice level of audio. Had to keep turning it up and down. But that's minor. Thanks!
A quick thought on the Kreg screws... Be careful not to cross the screws over one another when putting pocket holes perpendicular to one another like that... Not that I've ever done that! :)
Chanice Colon If your using 1 1/2 inch thick tops then you will need to cut the legs at 22 1/2 inches long. Once you add the top to the legs it will make the total height 24 inches tall.
Patrick Renschler yeah I apologize, this was one of my first RUclips videos and I didn’t know what I was doing. I have since then figured it out and don’t use the music at all lol.
Enjoyed the video! I'm new to woodworking, would you recommend a mitre saw or a table saw for my first purchase...ill just be doing little projects around the house. Thanks!
Dave Stump I would go with the miter saw first. I use that way more than I do my table saw. If you need big pieces cut, you can get the box stores to cut them until you can afford a table saw.
I would go with a decent table saw. Make a simple miter sled for it and use a cheap circular saw for cross-cutting long boards. That's how I got started
I did break down and buy me one...your right also. The impact driver is money well spent but I learned real quick that it'll drive slam through a pocket hole with no problem at all.....lol
I enjoyed watching this video. I especially liked that you explained what you were doing. I did have some difficulty listening to it though. I had to keep muting the music than I would miss something you said and I’d have to rewind. I think if you can’t figure out how to keep the music at a normal level than perhaps don’t add any music at all
They turned out pretty good.. look antique! i like the cross bar it looked naked without it ! i was gonna say why didn't you stain legs, but this looks better.. i like the color of the legs, would even look good in green.. i might make these when i move in green & dark walnut ! Can't believe wife not helping i would love a table like that bench you have with tools in behind there..for kitchen as a big cutting board baking table :)
I like the step-by-step very nice work Beautiful tables video recording was good when it came down to capturing what you were doing. a tip to help you on Future videos it would be better when you make the video just record yourself doing the work then do a voiceover in editing on your work that way the volume is control I also make videos find it’s easier to VoiceOver to control the volume of the video and allows The viewer to hear you better. I kept Blowing my ears but overall great video I will Definitely subscribe
Chris C yeah I apologize , this was one of my first videos and I really had no idea how to edit properly. I have since then kinda figured it out and they are a little better now 👍🏻
I hope people aren't disliking the video for the audio issue. Just leave a comment about it to help out. The content itself is great
nice simple project for beginners and if things go wrong, $20 is not much of a loss. Thanks
Wifey is a lucky woman! You did an amazing job, I admire your handiness
I promised my wife of make us end tables about 6 months ago. And I've had no idea how I was gonna do it cause I just got into wood working. This video is gonna help alot.
Great little build. Thanks for sharing. I'm trying to gather some inspiration for my own builds and this is awesome. I have a spot for them for sure.
Good job man.that pocket hole jig really helps..don't mind these peoples comments.at least you are doing something and they just sit back and criticize
Nice set of end tables👍👍👍 looking forward to another build project!
Thank you!!!
Beautiful end tables love them
They look very solid and stable - and you can’t beat that price!!! Love it!!!!

same here in june 22. needed something “easy” to match my rogueengineer 48in. benches.
Nice tables. I plan to build a couple of tables myself. This gives me in a good starting place. I'm glad that you added the cross braces. That was my only concern about what you had done. Great Job! Thanks for taking time to make the video.
I'm glad you left your mistake in the video that's great and youre amazing! I love all the equipment you have available at your fingertips!
Nice build! I noticed adds for end tables under your video. One for $90 and another for $390 and I gotta say they looked like about $20 in material as well. So nice job and a ton of savings!
Great job!!! Very thoroughly explained makes me feel like I can try!!
Very nice project you did for your wife and home. Great job!
They look great!! I am going to make one. Looks simple enough for me to make. 💪🏼🤞🏼 thank you for this easy o follow video
Love that you showed the mess up so I don't do the same! So something I would do lol
This is exactly what my wife has been looking for for our den! Thank you!
What would be a project without errors indeed
Haha!!! Seems like I just can't get through a project without a few of them popping up. But then again, that's the best way for me to learn....is by my mistakes!!
Perfect for my front porch. Building one soon.
My new project for next weekend. I think these will work great in my theater room we cant find tables the ight size to go between the reclines I purchased. Thanks for the step by step directions
Nice project and instructions. I will try this on my days off
Could serve as a stool too hahaha. Good video
wow beautiful project. 👍

creighton west thanks I will definitely have to look into getting one of those!
Just what I was looking for. Well done.
They look real nice. Nice job. The music kept randomly returning very loudly.
NICE END TABLES
Beautiful end tables! You could even put a piece of wood making a z on the sides.
How cute! Looks like fun to make
Very well done friend
Great video. Thank you! Love the tables!

Beautiful!
Love these! You did great!
These are beautiful! I am going to build myself some of these using your design. Love them! Great job!
Those are really cute! I make things all the time when I need a specific size.
Very good video! I’m gonna get my hubby to make these.
Great Job!
I love the glossy finish on top!!!😍😍 great job sir..and thanks for sharing!
Nice and simple thank you, I'm going to take this and change it a little to make a custom height 2 bowl raised dog feeder. Thanks.
Look good. thanks for the video
So cool!
This was super useful, thank you!
This is an awesome project for me to build one day. Great video. I think I would add two more braces to the top to finish it all around. Amazing how one piece of wood can be used to make a simple project.
Beautiful! Bravooooo to you sir :)
Nice Clean Job. Thank you
Cute tables.
Thanks for the detailed video!
Love this for only $20

Jason Gross Thanks, and your right. At first I really had no clue on the editing part but I have gotten a little better with it since then haha
Looks amazing! Great job. Thanks for the help
Very nice

Thanks perfect job 👍👍👍
I think you did a good job!
Guys if you wants to learn beginner to advance level woodworking my recommendation is *TopFineWoodworking. Com* the best website to learn woodworking
Great job, looking forward to make two in the future, you sound like John Fitzgerald in The Revenant.
Thank you for sharing. Very nice
Great video but the music for ʻsound overʻ is too loud! Just keep talking! Thank You for sharing your skills..
Great video!! Thank you and mine loaded just fine!
Awesome job.....wow
nice nice nice!!! great job !
Thank you! They look great!!
Nice plans! But you only need a 2x12x10. Saves a little money.
Sent to my husband. I hope he will build us some nightstands!
Great job. She should be pleased.
Nice work
Good stuff.
Love them
Looks good
love it this great video time to make these
I'm gonna try this!
Super. The reason why the second leg had a 2mm gap while screwing is lack of enough pressure.
If you had a timbre with clamp and when the top is wedged between the timbre and the leg then it would be bang on .

2”x12” from Lowe’s untreated. I can’t remember the length but it was either 12ft or 16ft length.
Thank you
2021 TITLE: Build 2 tables for 85 dollars.
You got that right!!
Lol true dat
Accurate
This made me giggle lol. So true tho
I’m building one and it has already cost me over $250
they look great!
Love the video, amazing diy project .. do you have any plans for this one.?
Beautiful! Can I just directly drill the holes for the screws in at that angle without the little pocket guide thing?
very nice !!! what kind of wood was that i know its a 1x6 just wondering and thank you ... so kind for sharing your time and video :)
linda meanbean it's a 2"x12"x12ft pine board.
Thanks for blowing up my speakers
$250 for that at Hobby Lobby
For both or one?
It fucking cost that to walk in the doors at that particle board built, covered in girly cursive phrases piece of shit.
Great video. Only suggestion is to balance the music level with the voice level of audio. Had to keep turning it up and down. But that's minor. Thanks!
Thanks for the share July 2017
Nice!
A quick thought on the Kreg screws... Be careful not to cross the screws over one another when putting pocket holes perpendicular to one another like that... Not that I've ever done that! :)
Fantastic job ! I missed, how long the legs? were trying to take note on how y’all to make my side tables

Nice!!
it's hard to follow this video because of the audio. I have to turn the volume up to hear you, but then when the music starts it's super loud.
Patrick Renschler yeah I apologize, this was one of my first RUclips videos and I didn’t know what I was doing. I have since then figured it out and don’t use the music at all lol.
Very nice! Maybe next time you can add a cross bar on the outsides so you can add a basket to set things in ☺
Enjoyed the video! I'm new to woodworking, would you recommend a mitre saw or a table saw for my first purchase...ill just be doing little projects around the house. Thanks!

Hard to listen to when the volume changes all the time
You gotta buy yourself a impact drill. So much easier to put screws in
Yeah I have been looking at those. They are nice!
Popo's Woodworks he is right, they are great, but not really for pocket holes. low torque needed for those
I did break down and buy me one...your right also. The impact driver is money well spent but I learned real quick that it'll drive slam through a pocket hole with no problem at all.....lol
anyone knows where i can find a cut list or plans for these?
I enjoyed watching this video. I especially liked that you explained what you were doing. I did have some difficulty listening to it though. I had to keep muting the music than I would miss something you said and I’d have to rewind. I think if you can’t figure out how to keep the music at a normal level than perhaps don’t add any music at all

Thanks for the loud music after you talk really low
😂😂
I thought it was my speaker on my phone lol
+1

Is this patent? Mine looks a little different from yours and i have a bottom shelf for it too
