- I took the #Two2x4Challenge issued by modernmakerpodcast (Instagram) and by using a 2x4x8 and a 2x4x10 I created an end table that has been brutally electrocuted by a microwave oven transformer to create Lichtenburg figures for a very cool look.
Here is a link to the challenge: pBSzIcAwFY...

Looks great. Thank you for sharing :)
Very cool, well done!
Great project and it turned out awsome
Very nice what you can build with only two 2x4! Cool project ;)
Awesome!
That’s badass!
Now that was nice love the burn🔥....
yup thats super cool
Incredible 👍👍
Cool!
Good job
Very nice
Nice project! Subbed
Can you use the lichtenberg unit with screws in the wood?
very nice
+TroppY's HolzHütte thanks
Good video
I gotta get a table saw I cant cut a string line every time I try to do a table or night stand my cuts are off and it dont sit right
Bad ass!
That's awesome. Do you have a video of how to do the lighting on the wood?
+gabriel espinoza yes it is explained more in my mirror build video.
Cool Thanks keep up the good work.
When you were cutting the notches out of the four corners, was there a reason you didnt use the bandsaw for the whole cut? Or was it just a personal preference?
+Rush Wingate using the table saw for as much as possible is best as it leaves a cleaner straighter cut.
Ok thanks. I figured there was a reason for it. Thanks for the response.
What size pocket hole screws did you use ?
Hellyeah 👍
Not very clear to me how you controlled the router making the mortises for the legs. Did you have a template I did not see? Or a bushing of some kind?
Bill Rhodes free hand between the lines
You are more steady than I. Every time I have tried that, I end up with disaster. Thanks.
+Bill Rhodes It really helps that I drilled most of it out first
thats fuckin bad ass
how do you make the burn marks whats the process thats cool?
darren birds i show how to do it in detail in my lighting mirror video
beautiful table, love the design. what did you use to electrocute to make the paterns?
It's a Lichetenberg machine. Basically a neon sign or microwave transformer The ones I've seen run at about 10 kV so it's definitely the kind of thing where you want to be sure you know what you're doing so you don't toaster bath yourself.
Microwave and is around 2.4kv
@@DIYBuilds Can u right back the exact meserments and everything if u have them please im trying to make my own
My website under plans then project plans and scroll way down until you see it.
Where did you get those clamps from?
Princess auto
@@DIYBuilds thanks
shame you did not have a pattern for it
Seems like if u don't have a router table or table saw you can't do anything
Dont need a router table just the router. That being said I would say a table saw and router and 2 very basic tools to have as a woodworker.
Without those 2, you are basically doing it old school hand tools.
WHY?
Why not?
@@DIYBuilds it ruins the wood.
I'm gonna run over a 2x4 a few times with my truck and then build a table out of it.
Cool. Be sure to post a video I'd love to see it.
This is a power tool showoff video.
Ok
Was like...this is a little boringHOLYSHIT!
I like the table but having 10,000 dollars worth of heavy woodworking machinery doesn't impress me at all, make one using hand tools and that I will a thumbs up for that.
+Bill Wlo ya my tool collection is well under that. probably 3000 because I bought over many years and second hand for the big ones.
I care about the art, not the tools to get him there.
