  • The Philippine edge is a simple way to finish your weaving. A chain of half-hitch knots forms a nice braided edge with optional fringe. If you don’t want fringe after tying the edge, you can thread your warp ends into the back side of your piece.
I find it easier to learn by watching. But if you learn easier by reading, I’ve included the description below.
Start at the left of your work. The edge consists of a repeat of the following tying sequence.
    Using 6 strands as follows:
    First 2 strands = A
    Next 2 strands = B
    Next 2 strands = C
Hold A and B in your left hand.
    Cross C over both B and A.
Bring the end of C under and around A and B, pull C up through the loop, and tighten.
    Pull B down to tighten.
Pull A aside to the left and drop it.
    The tricky part:
    B now becomes A, C becomes B, the next 2 strands becomes C.
    Repeat across edge.
