In the US, we wait until everyone is served, yet many will say, "Please eat while your food is hot".
I've always waited for all the food to be served. It just seems like the polite thing to do
Eating before everyone else's food arrives, in America, is still rude
Indeed in Mexican culture it’s not considered rude
Not everyone in America.
In every country where people exercise social decorum, it is impolite to start eating first or at least when is offered. America is not example of perfectionism
Eating before everyone else is not a right social decorum in many countries. When we get together and when we hear " common, why don't you eat or let's eat guys" then we all eat 😋
세해 복 많이 받아 레이첼~
Happy Seollal Rachel 🎉🎉
It's considered rude in the US 2 Rachel
Eating before the others is rude in America, too. People do it but they are just clueless.
Usually in my country (there are exceptions of course with disrepectful people), people start to eat once everybody is served. I also got a question for you Rachel : what happens when a foreigner is in Korea, goes out to a restaurant with korean friends, and happens to be the oldest at the table ?
새해 복 많이 받으세요 😊! Although it's polite for me (or anyone in that sense) to wait until all food to arrive, I'm sure that we have that one friend who's famished from doing whatever and is feeling ravenous. If they're extremely hungry, I wouldn't mind if they started eating first. But yes, in a general sense, it can be rude to eat earlier before other peeps food arrive. But I don't mind if someone eats before me tbh 😅.
I don't mind people eating their food first, whilst it's hot. However, what I did find exceptionally rude about the habits of my date is that they would order food and start eating before I even arrived (even though I wasn't late). It happened twice. The salt in the wound was I was paying the restaurant bill. Needless to say we didn't date long.
Eating for everyone else is rude in the Netherlands to.. I just strange
Hey Rachel, I have a question for you. I was raised in a Sephardic Jewish household, and even though my paternal grandmother was from Busan, it is a Sephardic tradition to always feed the children FIRST. Would I be considered rude or out of place if I asked a waiter or the waitress to serve the children first in a family gathering?
That 25/M....just didn't have any home training!!!.... its rude anywhere...unless the host/hostess tells you to go ahead!!
It is important, to be careful especially if you plan to travel to a country you've never been in before. Rachel to be honest your videos are guiding us. I'm really glad I found you since I love Korean girls and culture
Rachel is so sweet & beautiful
Happy Lunar New Year! Year of the dragon? Nah, year of the Rachel ☺️🤗 I do like the comfortable shirt, comfortable is my type of style 😁
I always wait for my friends to get their food before I eat, but I won’t be offended if someone else starts eating while I’m waiting. We generally eat at the same time, but I’d offer anyone a taste of my food if they were still waiting. I’m always the one handing out straws and filling water if I’m filling mine also 😄😄
Very interesting custom! One start eating after someone who is older . Very respectful. But, what if u have a Grandpa who was tired of waiting for food and he just dozed off ? It happened to me 😂. Had to gently wake him up. Thank you Rachel for this video.
What is with the fake backgrounds
That is called a filter .
Rachael is a babe! 😉
Rachel. Am I the asshole if I eat every one else's food? 🤔 I don't want to be a mong chongi!
