sorry I should of included information about the selfie stick I use. soooo, this is the main one I use amzn.to/3SYyMvh and then this is the second one I attached to it amzn.to/3SYyVij all u need to do is attach the adapter that comes with the pocket 3 with the 1/4 inch screw hole at the bottom and then the selfie stick just screws onto that. if u have the battery handle attached u can screw the selfie stick to that as well! 😎
Choosing the music for the planned video beforehand and listening to it during the shoot is a brilliant and intriguing idea, something I wouldn't have thought of myself! I usually look for suitable tracks after capturing the footage. I'll definitely give flipping that process a shot. Thanks for the heads-up! 👍
yeah defo give it a try, it’s how I’ve always done it tbh and it works for me and enables me to get my clear vision before hand. obviously everyone is different so it may not work for u but defo worth a shot 😎
@@james.loxtonI think in fact it’s how the famous duel scene in «The good, the bad and the ugly» was shot, they had the music first and then shot (pardon the pun 😂) the scene 🙂 One of the best scenes ever 🙂
You're definitely better articulating not just the how, but the WHY of videography - which many people miss in their videos. People can be great at explaining how to tactically execute a shot, but the WHY, the foundation as to why that decision is made can be lost. Really appreciate you bringing it down to my level to help me understand why those decisions are made. Thank you!
Great info on your video. One thing about EV. It can be pre set to a determined value. In “Exposure auto” you can set your exposure EV and it will keep it in your saved profile. In manual you can press the EV number above shutter speed. That will bring down your EV to set at a value. I found slightly under exposure (-.3 or -.7) balances some shots better. Cheers.
thanks 😎 for indoor shooting I would say there’s no need for any special filters. As long as the scene is reasonably lit u could literally keep it in auto mode and you’ll be fine. if the lighting is not the best then u could shoot in low light mode which will help but only if it’s really dark. I’ve found it does a decent job in low light situations without having to put it in low light mode but do some tests and see what works for u
glad it helped u out 😎 so, u can only access the EV by swiping when ur actually recording not when it’s just on standby. are u trying it whilst recording?
@@james.loxton yes that’s the strange thing as I watched you do it but it just doesn’t happen on mine. I’m on the latest firmware. Thanks for replying 🙏🏻
Hey James, currently filming walking vids in Thailand and thats exactly what im doing in regards to having the camera pointing forward. I feel it helps out heaps with the bobbing effect and its also far less obvious that your actually filming with the camera. Great vid man! 👍
this is the main one I use amzn.to/3SYyMvh all u need to do is attach the adapter that comes with the pocket 3 with the 1/4 inch screw hole at the bottom and then the stick just screws onto that. it also screws on to the battery handle if u have that attached as well
yes! exactly this! for the shots in this video I actually didn’t even do that, I just put it in the air and hoped for the best based on what was in front of me
@matthiasmoog575 I have a pocket 2, I always use my phone because that screen is tooo small for my ùeyes. One question, can all the features of the pocket 3 be accessed through the mimo app? The pocket 2 will not do 8x zoom when connected to the mimo app.
Use 30p Frames best for watching pocket videos on mobilephone devices otherwise it will be stuttering. Use 24/25 only if purpose to watch on tv. Cheers
With a proper shutter speed and nd filter, you avoid the stuttering, that's why you don't see it in professional / feature film (unless the shutter speed is intentionally altered). To me is essential to use nd and 180° shutter, it changes everything
@@JoseWela no I use ND Filter everytime. The Stuttering Problem come from wrong frame rates played on wrong Device. Most Phones play in 60hertz while they cant play 24Hertz thats why stottering. Use 30Frames on Screen that play in 60/120 Hertz.
Hi, I am a beginner and looking for advice and wasn’t sure if you had a video created for what I’m looking for. I’m in real estate and my my wife and I are looking to create content to attract more clients. There are so many videos talking about the features of the pocket camera, but we are looking for a video that showcases how to create a video from beginning to end with basic edits, etc.. Do you have any videos that you’ve created showing your hometown first and then showing the behind-the-scenes and how you pieced it all together? Thank you so much for your time.
so I don’t currently have a video showing the whole process unfortunately. what video editing software are I planning on using? cos it might be worth u searching for a tutorial video showing that software where someone is putting a video together using it
with all the awesome things this device can do it is still limited and there are a few issues I hope DJI get to fix. The first issue that was never fix after this new update, Webcam mode sucks I am still only getting about 40mins in webcam mode over FaceTime or zoom and the camera will overheat and disconnect. The other issue is, I am still not able to preview the low resolution video in the app on my phone. To preview your video you have to watch it back on the small screen. I normally will connect my phone to the Pocket 3 when I am filming myself and want to just preview a sample clip, Nope it won't work and I have the iPhone 14pro Mex. I hope they fix this or if there is a way to fix this please let me know.
yeah hopefully as time goes on they will address certain issues that are still out there like some of the ones you’ve mentioned 🤞🏾 that’s the great thing about having firmware updates, the device just keeps getting better and better

glad u enjoyed it 😎 I didn’t actually use any ND filters for the shots of me in the video as it was all shot in auto mode and it did a great job with the exposure
Surprised it looks like your shutter speed for this was high. Do you even bother with ND's when vlogging? I only noticed it because I'm specifically looking for it as I've pretty much determined it's not worth the hassle for vlogs. I may use an ND but just let the shutter speed adjust automatically because it seems to be able to adjust better for coming in and out of shadows on bright days.
ur spot on! I literally shoot all my vlog style talking head shots in auto mode and don’t worry about messing around with the manual settings so yeah the shutter speed does shoot up but the overall image it gives out in auto mode is still so so good. I sometimes put a low number ND filter on when shooting in auto mode if the sky is very white to help with the exposure but most of the time when I’m vlogging in auto mode it’s without an ND filter. I would only use a filter if I’m adjusting the manual settings when shooting b roll clips for example
