Venza looses because it is NOT Hybrid. But I am biased … my driveway could look like as an Advertisement for the RAV4 (all but 1 are RAVs) … so maybe I should charge Toyota for that 😉😉😉. Gotta be Honest, I wanted the Venza last time around, but was discontinued at the time. Now, within a few weeks, I be getting the RAV4 (surprise surprise) but the Prime (all EV), and (not decided yet) a Sienna … maybe. 🤔🤔🤔
I can't have dual climate control because I would set my side to 65 degrees, and my wife would set her side to 100 degrees. Then a thunderstorm would form in the middle of the car.
I found that the venza has some great leasing figures so I decided to check it out. After looking at all the standard stuff it comes with I have fallen in love. Will be looking to get this done soon. Thanks for the comparison
Watching again...and this has been so much more informative than the other reviews...I’m was really going back and forth on which is better but I think I am now sold on the Venza...for “me” it has what I’m look for....thanks for the great review....and thanks for the laughs - it takes a lot of talent to give the amount of product detail your covered and still be funny without taking away from the product. Keep the videos coming!!!!
was trying to pick between the rav4 and venza about a month ago. ended up picking the venza limited. i absolutely love it. it drives better than the rav4 to me and it feels luxurious. the rav4 felt a little cheap in my opinion. still an amazing car. now if the rav4 prime was available when i was looking, this may have been a whole different story... cant beat the gas miles on the prime... wish they would update the interior of the rav4 a little more esp now that it has a competitor. i love my venza tho, had it since early october and get 41 mpg according to the car. granted im only driving to work and school then home, still amazing mileage tho.
In the drink holders, when you remove the round platform to accomodate taller drinks, there is a built-in storage place for that round platform. It is in the center console. 21:39
I like both. I’d have to drive both to decide. I’m glad Toyota put out a luxury SUV though, I’ve been saying for years that I wish they had something a little more luxury than the RAV4.
I just watched a Consumer Reports video on the Venza. They opined that when the engine kicks in under hard acceleration, the engine noise is louder than what one would expect from a premium vehicle like the Venza. They also said that the RAV4 gives a similar experience. Jeff, how about getting a sound level meter to test that out? The meter should not be located on the dashboard or the seat, but it should be positioned close to the driver's ears. You could use the sound from a Camry as a baseline sound level.
I was in both of these cars on Thursday evening I rejected the RAV4 because the backseat seemed to be much more cramped than the Venza backseat I will be scouring the earth for a new Venza this week
@@sunitjoshi3573 Venza has more luxury materials on the inside so noise insulation will be better. But remember you get less interior space and less cargo space as compared to RAV4. So Venza is less practical.
I think they could easily have put FOG LIGHTS in the Venza. They even look like they have spots for them on the lower front black plastic area (little DOT areas).
I just ordered my Venza XLE with the audio and softex upgrade. I'm really excited, and I made my decision based om your reviews, Jeff. Thank you! I know I'm late to the Venza game, but it is just the right car for me.
I know that the Rav4 hybrids assembled in the US switched to lithium ion batteries a few months ago. In Canada the Rav4 hybrids assembled here still have the nickel metal hydride which operates much better in extreme cold then the lithium ion battery.
You, sir, always able to come up with the best wordings for your videos. You subtle humor is awesome and make your reviews so unique. I'm a fan of your review videos. Thank you.
I know I am watching this late but I was wondering where you were with the sun shining and wearing a jacket. Here in Florida that wouldn't even be in my closet. Eventhough I am looking at buying a 2022 this is still helpful.
I actually like both of these. I think the Rav4 has better packaging and you can get an opening sunroof on all models. Also, the Rav4 can get fog lamps.
Great review, thanks Jeff & happy Thanksgiving !!! Question for you, has Toyota said why they are not offering fog lights on the Venza? It looks like there are circles down low on the dash that could accommodate fog lights but they are enclosed in plastic. It would be nice if they were at least optional.
Love this review and comparison! Thank you for providing all the relevant information! I love both vehicles, but leaning towards the Venza. But I’ll also take a serious look at the 2021 RAV4 Prime! ☮️🖖🏽
I wish Toyota made the Venza bigger. Somewhere in the middle between the RAV4 & Highlander. A 2-row SUV..basically I'd like to see a Toyota RX or the Toyota equivalent of the Honda Passport ..lol I could buy a highlander but I don't want to associate myself driving a Highlander no offense. It's more family oriented while a young single person like myself wants to be set apart from the family SUV.
I like Toyota vehicles so far they are very reliable vehicle this Venza design much better than previous boxy wagon design at the mean time Toyota must do update on 2022 versions 1: For the drivers who are 5'10" and over if they drive long hours or stuck in traffic will feel very uncomfortable on sitting driver seat and may feel leg pain they must add manual or power thigh support like German vehicle even now some Buick models have it 2: Touch system some times in cold weather will not respond and may confuse the driver and take off his eyes off from the vehicle , A/C Heating power on off, control buttons will have to update with semi touch system as like Buick or Cardilac with led light indication 3: Back side signal indicators they should add one more under the tail lights aswell for the vehicle safety during the day driver from other vehicle may not see and cause accident 4 : Inside the vehicle power start button is too far for driver to bend down to search to press Let's hope Toyota will update
It's good for people who are. 5' 8" as like you br but people who are 5' 11 can not comfortably sit in for long time Toyota designers should think about s atleast driver seat thigh support like German vehicle now these days but so far I think Toyota designers are all under 5' 7" so they don't think
Has anyone drove both or own one. We drove both and bought the Rav4 xse. Great car love it but we drove the Venza limited. Now my wife wants to trade the Rav4 in for the Venza limited. What do you guys think
Looking at RAV4 hybrid and Venza currently and the Lithium Ion battery concerns me. I've heard they don't function as well in extreme cold. I'm in the more extreme cold of Colorado (sometimes -30 in the winter) and my vehicles are not in a heated garage. Anyone else have experience with this?
Hello Jeff! Greetings from Russia! Thank you for your videos, they are really very well done! Talking abouth hight, length, weight and etc - could you write these in metric as well please? because its cinda really hard to understand, how big is the car, if you dont live in US. Thank you!
They are listed as a CVT because there isn't another check box. Toyota synergy drive is different. I would be reluctant to buy a CVT but own two Toyota hybrids because they aren't the same concept as other manufacturers CVT. Toyota's design is a much more reliable and low maintenance transmission. I always wonder what kind of training sales people get from the manufacturer. Does Toyota give training or do sales people research their own. I think most sales people just wing it.
Hello. Optional tow package available on both? I just use a small utility carrier for home improvement stuffs, mountain bikes, etc. And, occasionally, a small, lightweight utility trailer. Thanks.
For reasons only known to Toyota, there is no tow rating for the Venza. The RAV4 Hybrid is rated for 1,750 pounds. Alex On Autos RUclips channel did a couple of extremely detailed RAV4 Hybrid tow test videos which clearly demonstrate its towing capabilities.
The Venza seats in the XLE or the Limited, are they soft and comfortable? Or are the seats still hard like European cars? As people age and our bodies hurt more we appreciate softer seating, Power passenger seats are a necessity and the air conditioning needs to stay on when stopped for a light.
Question: my 2012 Venza drivers side legroom doesn't accommodate my left leg length. Left leg can't stretch completely out even with my seat all the way back causing stress on knee especially when driving over an hour; so, can you show me your leg stretch completely in the 2021 Venza; thank you !!! I truly enjoy your vids, oh, by the way, im have a 2019 Rav4 XLE and my left leg room is very spacious with seat all the way back.

Hey Jeff! I own 2020 XLE Rav Hybrid when I took my car in for service I asked if they could upgrade my fog lights to led. They said it could not be done? No reason given. Should find another dealer?

I already own and love my 2020 Rav4, but I just wanted to drop in and say I love your energy.
My wife has a Venza Limited and she absolutely loves it. Traded in her 2018 Murano Platinum which she never liked.
Jeff. You literally do the best reviews on the RUclips.
The dad jokes. The singing. Everything. Love it!

The Venza is 100% MIJ. When it comes to quality and reliability I'll opt for Japanese manufacturing every time.

How’s the road noise?
Jeff, although I am over 4000 miles away from your location your reviews helped persuade me to get a RAV4 hybrid, so thanks!
Two nice vehicles for sure! I’ve always been a RAV4 fan myself. Just a matter of personal taste and styling. Can’t go wrong with either one!

My wife just traded her 2019 XSE for the 2021 Venza XLE and loves the additional standard features.
From exterior looks alone I would choose RAV4 I love that sporty look
Fantastic video! Every question I had answered and then some! Thank you!
I love both of the vehicles!
I agree Aidan! Really tough choice here

I’d prefer the RAV4 but if it’s for my wife or daughters, I’d choose the Venza.
RAV4 4 has advantage as light off road vehicle.
It’s hard but it’s soft, no jokes. I about chocked on my breakfast. That was hilarious.
Happy holiday from Indiana! Love your video.
I like the Rav4 Hybrid, bigger hatch area...Better air controls...
Good criteria to go by
I love your videos, Jeff!!
Thanks it’s appreciated. Enjoy your weekend

I have a Lexus RX350. So Venza looks nicer to me. However, when compared the cargo space to the RAV4, Venza is out of question.
Does the 2021 Toyota RAV4 hybrid continue with the gas tank issue?
If you combine the color of your pants and shirt, you match the Venza color.
Excellent!!!!!! Haha
I choose Venza. Can't get over the fact that the Rav4 looks like Walter Matthau.
I wasn’t listening to Fox News hahahhaha gotta love this man 😂😂😂
I just watch this for entertainment. This guy is a good reviewer.

Why can’t all car salesmen be like this dude?
Venza for sure
I like Toyota vehicles so far they are very reliable vehicle this Venza design much better than previous boxy wagon design at the mean time Toyota must do update on 2022 versions
1: For the drivers who are 5'10" and over if they drive long hours or stuck in traffic will feel very uncomfortable on sitting driver seat and may feel leg pain they must add manual or power thigh support like German vehicle even now some Buick models have it
2: Touch system some times in cold weather will not respond and may confuse the driver and take off his eyes off from the vehicle , A/C Heating power on off, control buttons will have to update with semi touch system as like Buick or Cardilac with led light indication
3: Back side signal indicators they should add one more under the tail lights aswell for the vehicle safety during the day driver from other vehicle may not see and cause accident
4 : Inside the vehicle power start button is too far for driver to bend down to search to press

LEDs can be yellow. The point is that to cut through fog, you need scattered beam lights with a warm tone of light. Yellow to orange are ideal.
