Came off a 2017 CX5 Grand Touring. We UPGRADED to the Venza limited. Absolutely love it. My wife has a 42 mile commute with some rolling hills and she averages about 50mpg. I don’t know why people complain about “road noise”. Every car has some degree of road noise and this one is so minimal if any. Fit and finish is great. We are very pleased. A tad smaller in the cargo area but we’re okay with it.
I just bought the 2024 Venza Limited. I am getting between 43-50 MPG depending on VA traffic. I'm loving it, compared to what I was driving... a 2009 Camry-getting bout 23 MPG. Yes, the back cargo space is not the biggest. But for what I need, I make it work. I absolutely love my Venza!
The problem with the RAV 4 Hybrid is that they are not readily available for sale at most dealerships, every dealer I spoke with is charging a $2,000+ premium over sticker price with virtually every unit being presold and there are no factory incentives. The Venza on the other hand has a higher sticker price, but has $1,750 in Toyota cash incentives. With the incentives the Venza has more features at an overall lower price than the RAV 4, at least for the time being.
Yes, I hate how the current RAV4 looks. It's truck like and I particularly dislike the floating roof appearance on the lighter color ones. The Venza, the other hand, is a sophisticated looking town vehicle that looks like a mini RX350..
@@bguy1979 , I agree and the Venza cabin is much quieter. Both my Ravs were quieter in the beginning. Maybe all cars get noisy, but in 3 months the Venza is still quieter
planetary gears instead of belts=wow, you are the only one to mention this. I bought one of these gems and didn't know that- I sell gearboxes and electric motors and the planetary gear is the most beautiful design of all gearing.
A helpful comment. While driving, I went to turn the radio on. I kept my eyes on the road. The radio power button is above the start button. I hit the start button. Heard dinging sounds. Then I got the message, holding the start button for 3 seconds, will automatically cause an emergency stop. That’s bad placement.
A few weeks ago my Mom got the Venza Limited with the StarGaze roof option. So far she is liking it. She almost got the Highlander Hybrid Platinum, but didn't really need a 3 row. Stepdad wanted her to get the Highlander lol. She got a pretty decent deal on it from the dealer. Dealer was asking low $40k(think it was $42,000) and got them down to a decent amount. I think the Limited is decently priced for what you get.
@@BruceWayne-eh4im I didn't buy the car. As I said my Mom bought the car lol. I would have to ask her, but I think only two grand if I remember her saying correctly. I am not sure what the total came to with taxes and all that other stuff, but I know it was still over $40,000
I'd have to take issue with the criticism of not being able to do certain things while wearing gloves in a modern car. I've driven in the snow in Europe and Australia and in New York when they had a wind chill of minus thirty and I've never worn gloves while driving. As criticisms go, it isn't one. Good review though.
The car is good. But there are a few complaints. Wind noise and road noise are noticeable - not awful but annoying. But the main downside is Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. The lane centering feature is erratic and undependable. The adaptive cruise control picks up stopped vehicles too late, and loses the car in front too easily. The navigation system is horrible - hugely out of date it’s suggests illegal turns and can’t find the US Post Offices. On the positive side: handles well, steers nicely, comfortable seats, unnoticeable shifting between electric and gas, smooth braking, great stereo system, gas mileage about 37 mpg in suburbs. Plenty of oomph around town, quick take off from stops. Adequate power for passing on highway.
I generally agree with your assessment. I've not experienced any trouble with the radar cruise control. The navigation system sucks. I also found the lane centering annoying and seldom use it. I did find the Venza MUCH quieter than the RAV4 that test drove, although there have been certain road types that seemed pretty noisy, but would probably be noisy in most cars anyway. I have had several 12 to 20 mile local trips coming in at 47-50mpg. I do have the adaptive driving data turned on so maybe that's why. I also think the compartment tray is almost useless and replaced it with an aftermarket. I also added an aftermarket hitch instead of the faux-hitch Toyota offers. The ride and brake feel were also Superior. I think it's an excellent daily driver.
Road noise and wind noise? Compared to what. Because we own this car and it is the quietest car we own by a mile. Also not had any of your other issues.
Couldn’t agree more. I have a Limited, fully loaded and near 44K. Get it on the highway at 65 mph and it’s loud. Louder than a Hyundai Santa Fe, louder than a Kia Sorento, Kia Telluride, louder than a Mazda CX-5. If you need to find something in the glove compartment at night, use a flashlight because they’re is no glovebox light. Same for the ridiculous console. I bought a aftermarket console tray on Amazon and it’s now serviceable. The lighting inside overall is dim especially in the 2nd. row. The navigation is 10 years old compared to most American and Korean brands. When someone says it “Lexus like” it’s NOT. It’s good for a Toyota but pails to the feel and upscale appointments from those other brands and I’m talking Hyundai and Kia. Anybody run the tank down to empty(like 10 miles left according to the instruments?) it has a 14.5 gallon tank but in 5 fill ups, the most I’ve put in is 11.4 gallons on 455 miles. So there must be a 3.1 gallon reserve. Toyota says the reserve is 4 gallons but would you trust that on a long road trip especially when the gauge says EMPTY?Buyers remorse: YES. 32 more lease payments and it’s gone. Should have gone Santa Fe Calligraphy, Sorento SX Prestige X line or Honda CRV hybrid.
@@ivandoneshefsky4762 I don't believe you. Other than an all electric car it's the quietest car I've ever been in. There is almost zero noise. Yes you hear the tires on bad roads or the wind on a windy day, but no more than any other car. And infact I think the only reason you notice is because you don't have all the engine noise droning it out like the other SUVs you mentioned. Also aren't you using Apple or Android Auto for your navigation? The last thing I will say is Even with the 3 gallon reserve you still get 500 miles on a top off. So not sure why you think the Sante Fe or Sorento would be better, because you are going to use way more fuel and still have less distance.
Interesting you say it has noticeable road noise since Toyota claimed to have added more insulation and a thicker windshield (similar to lexus). Anyone know how roadnoise of Venza compares to Rav4?
My biggest disappointment with our Venza Limited has been the JBL audio system. Six of the 9 speakers are in the front. The result is a lack of a rounded, stereo sound. I would like more speakers in the back to round out the sound. Something to look into doing aftermarket?
I owned one 2022 venza hybrid limited i love it good on gas ⛽ i can run more than 1000 kilometers with 55 litre of gas with light foot not heavy foot ok thanks for your video take care bye from milton Ontario Canada
The soft console is a deal breaker for me. The middle console should be hard materials. Any spilled drink would cause issues for the soft console. The 2022 NX has it right. Wish Venza had something like that
2022 model. Averaging in low 40 mpg. Like most everything. Things I don’t like. Backup noise is way too loud. Interior lighting is very dim. Rear turn signal lights down low & hard to be seen by drivers behind you.
Noise isolation is a priority for me. Quiet cabins convey luxury. It doesn't matter how nice an interior is if it's noisy, the vehicle seems downmarket. I have not test driven either RAV or Venza, but would pay extra for the Venza if it is significantly quieter, despite liking the big knobs of the RAV. Hate the tacked-on look of the info screen on both.
I love everything about this vehicle EXCEPT for no knobs and buttons. When will auto engineers get it through their thick stupid skulls that people want knobs. Using a touch screen for basic radio functions or basic hvac functions IS NOT UPSCALE>>> IT IS HORRIBLE
This and the rav4 are what Lexus should have done with the nx. But between venza and rav4 I’d take the rav4. Unless I absolutely need a giant touchscreen, head up display, or the frosted sunroof Also FYI on the venza if you get the base 8 inch touchscreen you get knobs for climate and audio
Everyone needs are different. The RAV4 is a bit more utilitarian. The brake feel and noise are better in the Venza. The ride is smoother too Cargo space not so much...
The head up display is nice. Also the ride and brake feel are better in the Venza. Because it's quieter than a RAV4 the sound system sounds better even though it's a similar JBL system. The seats are more comfortable too.

The Limited trim doesn't "come with" the Star Gaze roof, it's a $1400 option.
Correct. I got it. Worth it. A definite wow factor.
If you want to stargaze just step out of your vehicle and look up. 1400$ bullshit upgrade
It is standard with the Limited model in Canada. There seems to be more packages and add ons in the US.
I like the 2021 Venza XLE. Just started leasing last weekend. Previously had a 2019 Rav and this is my first hybrid
