Great tips... keepem comin... one extra thing I would add to the Palomar is to make sure when u tighten the knot that the loop sits on top of the overhand knot otherwise it may cut into itself

You're great Mike, you explain to everyone. I have been following you for a long time and I have learned many tricks that I have applied to zanders fishing here on the Danube. Greetings from Romania!

I use the improved clinch know even with braid. I go through the eyelet twice though at the beginning. I haven't been broken off with it yet. I also use the palomar knot, depends on how I'm feeling that day. Both are excellent knots IMO.

That’s the Trilene knot, use it all the time. Just as easy as the improved clinch but a bit stronger at the eyelet and the tag end is absolutely weedless. 👍🏻

When I first started fishing 25 years ago everyone used an improve clinch knot. Then everyone went to a Palomar . Now there’s about 30 different knots . I don’t think anything is easier than a uni knot and it works for everything. Palomar knots tend to break with fluorocarbon. After watching this I may have to try an improved clinch knot again. I always found it to be pretty easy to tie.

hey mike idk what u call but basically my line to line knot for leaders is the 1st knot you did but i start with double loops an cinch everything down tight wet it of coarse braid to mono or flouro man an it has never let me down if done right ive never seen anyone else do it but im tellin you it will give the fg a run for its money basically it a doubled up improved clinch knot for an line to line application its different ik but it works awesome

Hey Mike: I use Palomar for all my main lines and leaders. BTW I love using your IKE30 spinning reel. Admittedly the most expensive reel I've ever bought but certainly the best quality and feel, so worth it.

I own some of your endorsed fishing gear. Even a spinning combo for kids just because I love the color.

Hello Mike! On the improved clinch knot after making the knot I tie a simple knot over that. Is this good or bad. Never had any issues doing it.

Why repeat yourself so often, most of us are adult enough to comprehend what you’re teaching without you being repetitive, and we can always watch the video again if need be. I appreciate your teaching, but often find the videos a bit taxing, It’s probably just me though.

Got to disagree Mike. The palomar is better and easier for both mono and fluorocarbon. I also use it for braid but with a double overhand knot.
