  • I finally managed to understand how to change my driver' settings and I found out that there is an upright lie setting that works perfect for me.
If you want to play better draws, make sure to check out the upright setting on your driver. This will also work as an anti-slice setting.

My name is Erich and I live in Italy welcome to my channel. I used to play golf on and off for many years, but I started my journey again about 8 years ago, changing my swing completely.
My goal is to become a single figure handicap golfer in the near future.
To achieve this goal, I built my own backyard putting green and set up a backyard golf net. I love playing in my backyard green, doing drills, club reviews and playing at the range and at the course to get better at the game and ultimately reach my goal (hopefully).

I hate to say it but your biggest problem is the weak grip , you slash at the ball which is ok but if you slash at the ball you cannot have the lead wrist in a position that allows the face to open at all , trail hand will learn to be comfortable if you let it lead it doesnt want to go underneath just move your lead thumb tighter and sit your trail nicely leading from the back . Its hard to adapt iron/ driver grips but a good takeaway prompt will make it easier for each .
I do agree however that the upright setting on tm drivers is a good anti slice fix but its only temporary , you must grip strong left if you slash - its a down the line thing and a weak grip lets you cut across your front whereas a strong grip creates a block that swings/forces a more in to out movement in your body .
Basically you cant cut a strong grip whilst trying to throw the club its going out right not cut left .
Try throwing your driver up the garden with a strong left - youll see immediately a path change is required

Spot on , same degree of loft but more upright ,Toe up heel down in any club including putter closes face slightly so its worth doing, otherwise you'd have to take it to 12.5 degrees to close face.

Yes exactly a lot of golfers think that the more loft the more the face is open and it’s the complete opposite

I find it amusing so many amateurs are making videos of how to do things they do not know how to do. You do know there is a chart on the Taylormade site telling EXACTLY what the specs are for each notch, starting from the bottom (standard) going around the clock? The main reason you have trouble drawing, is your hips do not lead your downswing, dropping your rt elbow to your side. You turn your shoulders first, causing the over the top, outside in club path & your weight never gets off your back foot. Watch Hogan's lesson after he beat Snead at Pebble beach on Shells WWG.

I know what you’re saying, I do not need that setting now, if you look at my latest videos, my swing has changed over time, but I have to say at the time that setting did help, for the weekend golfer that upright setting would be so much helpful

  • @ChiliDippaGolf

I've never owned an adjustable driver so I have no idea how to adjust them. I would have thought the same thing as well, that decreasing the loft would close the clubface a little. Glad that you noticed that the settings were adjusted wrong for you on your driver. Ball is drawing nice now Erich!

The upright setting basically raises the lie upright by 4 degrees so it’s almost impossible to slice it, man I’m telling you, this is a great setting for me, it feels like a brand new driver, we’ll see at the course

None of my club's are adjustable either sho I don't have a low degree wedge and have a second driver. One 10.5 and a 9.5 10.5 for flight and the 9.5 is a great hit and run, offer stinger on windy days.

Don't forget to fine tune with the weights. if it goes to much left move the front weight toward the toe a bit at a time. I noticed the rear weight was set to standard. at that loft it may go tad high slide the rear weight forward a bit but the most forgiving is the weight all the way back.

I think typically high handicappers struggle to get the ball in the air and not slice it and low handicappers with speed can get it in the air and fight a hook so that’s why it’s low loft open / high loft closed

    • @thebackyardgolfer7010

  • @EvilDrDude
    @EvilDrDude Год назад +1

Unfortunately, you still have it wrong. Changing the hosel setting to lower the loft only opens up the face if you let the club head rest on its own base. When a golfer address the ball, he will hold the club and square the face to his target, this results in the lower loft you desire but not a face opened. Not many golfers will let the driver rest on the ground in its natural lie and then swing the club. They will hold the clubface at the target . You need to be more sure about what you're trying to teach people.
