  • I guarantee this move will fix your driver. It's the key to being super consistent with your golf swing and ball flight. When you do this really simple move you will hit more fairways. The ball will flight high and straight and you will have much more control of your golf swing and ball flight.
A lot of golfers struggle to hit the driver consistently well because they have a hard time controlling the release and the levers of the golf swing. Once you understand how to control the low point and the body your golf swing gets a lot more consistent and your ball striking will improve straight away. You'll enjoy the game more as your golf ball flies higher and straighter than before.

Wow!!!!! What a great drill! I’ve been watching RUclips golf tutorials for 1.5 years trying to find ways to improve my game and this video and drill has been the most impactful and beneficial simple drill I’ve come across. Thank you! The impact was immediate and my drives got online very soon after trying this. Whenever they started to get offline, I started the drill over again and when i got into my normal stance my swing path, contact and actual drives were on point! What a simple and effective drill. I will use this every time I go to the range and certainly before rounds of golf. Thank you so much!!!

When i first started i watched bobby jones videos and read his books, he promoted feet closer together on all shots, close together on short shots with gradually widening the feet but he still had the feet pretty close with driver. Hitting the ball with feet together you can feel how everything moves. I think the shoulder apart for feet have impaired power for decades. Try everything closer together you can really feel the hips engage, as long as you keep in balance through the bag.

I have always used this drill as a arm up routine on the range with a slight variation. I stand with my feet one foot width apart with the ball placed just inside my forward foot. I hit 10 balls minimum with low power input with the driver from this position until I feel my swing is comfortably at its full width and the release feels seamless and natural. I then move the width of my stance to about 12 inches apart inside my feet and repeat the same number of shots. Only then would I go to my normal address position and begin normal full swing warm ups. In the pre shot routine on the course, I always do two practice swings with my feet close together religiously as a muscle memory drill before each drive. Since performing this warm up routine before every round when possible, I rarely hit a bad drive. For myself and a few players I know that have adopted this in the same form, it had been THE most effective drill to correct issues in the driver swing, no doubt. ⛳️😎⛳️

I really enjoy your tips, Steve. But, mostly I really enjoy you. You at a truly natural person. Every time I watch one of your videos, I can't help but wish I lived in Scotland and could play a round of golf with you. I don't know if you have heard of him, but I played some golf with a very talented golfing Scot name Graem Baxter. You should look him up. He is a phenomenal golf artist. He is licensed by the PGA and the European Tour as an official artist for all the majors including The Open. His works hang in Augusta, St. Andrews, and many prestigious golf courses. I think you would love his art.
I know you are having a difficult time deciding on what your future will bring. I just wanted to let you know that I, for one, will really miss you if you stop putting out videos. I think your niche might be to continue your instructional videos, but put out longer videos of you and your mates enjoying a day on the links. We need a good Scottish laddie on RUclips.

@@asxtc Thanks for asking! I’m at 13.3 hdcp at the moment but heading lower, which has been hard to do. 83, 81, 84, 83. I cannot seem to get through a round without a double, or two, or three. Still, fewer penalties involved, just some sketchy ball striking. This swing exercise has helped with balance, staying in my stance, and swinging through. My driver swing feels better, no question. Best of luck with your game. Happy new year! I’m still trying to go low!!!

Actually, my question is how do you manage to deal with other swing areas that cause the loss of distance/fading, such as bad transition, rushing the downswing, not releasing the club head?
