I think so much of our day to day can be made into a creative endeavor, but now that I have more time (son is almost two now) I reserve Friday afternoons for a fun project whether it is cooking or baking something extra special, crafting, or sewing. Thank you for your lovely video. I love these ideas as homemade gifts for the upcoming holidays.
Thank you for these beautiful and well-made videos. Since I retired from a 70+hours/week retrace, your calm, gracious chats are just what I need to slow down and enjoy the simple things. I appreciate your time & efforts to make each video and I eagerly look forward to them.
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dad, what beautiful flowers your friends sent. Sending love to you & your family, how sad the you & your husband to have lost both of your fathers in rapid succession. Much love also to your grandchildren who I'm sure are missing their grandfathers too.
Just love you Jennifer, that you for this calming video. Love all the reminders of the gentleness of life; reading, flowers, creativity, delicious food and of course tea. Peace to you.
What a relief to see someone else use stickers! I tend to go a bit crazy - front and back of envelopes, as well as the card. It's such a small but fun way of sharing the love of cats, flowers, angels, etc. and enlivening empty space. 💐 ❤️ 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️ 💐 (I like to think postal workers enjoy them too!)
Between work, looking after my family and home I don’t have much time for crafts so cooking is my way of being creative. I find so much joy in making dinner time special and my guys definitely appreciate it too. My trick is to always cook at least double batch of any dish so my freezer is stacked with ready meals. This way I can focus on the little details because main dish is taken care of . Lots of love to you Jennifer
I work at Hobby Lobby. Before I got moved to the office, I often had women tell me they weren't creative. My response was always, "You may not be 'Hobby Lobby' creative, but you are creative. You are raising children and managing a home? I'm sure the budget isn't always as elastic as you would prefer. But somehow, you get everyone fed and clothed and all the things they need and most of what they want and all the practices and games and recitals and family stuff, right? You're creative."
(Melanie here) We live in Michigan and have such glorious colored leaves in the fall. Last year, my daughter took some of the leaves, dried them and laminated them. She put this in the kids' windows so that they could enjoy the leaves they collected together :)
Just talked to my daughter about this and she told me that you laminate the leaves right away - don't dry them out. She showed me such a beautiful picture of them in the window.@@jenniferspangler8296
I’m so sorry for the loss of your daddy. Grief makes us value kindness so much. Thank you for sharing parts of your day with us. I’ve been using Typology for just over a year and the difference in my skin is amazing. The chamomile cleanser is the best if anyone wants to try something.
I WISH I WERE AMONG THESE FRIENDS 😅 THESE BOOKMARKS ARE SO LOVELY AND EASY TO MAKE, I'M SURE WE JUST NEVER THOUGHT OF MAKING 'EM! THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSPIRING VIDEOS.
Thank you. I just love chai and will be trying your Crock-Pot ideas! I have some baked chicken that I need to use and tortilla soup will hit the spot. Have a lovely day ahead.
Such beautiful bookmarks! My 5 year old has made bookmarks for friends and family this year as well, it’s a great activity for little ones though we didn’t use the dried flowers. Maybe next year! One thought I had was to mention that you can put multiple bookmarks in each laminating pouch so it’s more economical, as long as you are careful to spread them out a bit. Maybe you have to feed them through the machine more carefully with the delicate flowers though. Was not sure but thought it was worth mentioning as it can save time.
Thank you for the warm and inspiring video. I always enjoy seeing your flavor combinations, such as plums and berries--and tortilla chips in the bottom of your tasty soup, yum! Your bookmarks are darling and so are the sweet stickers seals. Wishing you a joyful autumn!
YES! It is so enjoyable when you think of your home as a beautiful artistic space to bring joy and comfort to your home. Thank you Jennifer 🤍I am so incredibly my your creative calming & classy spirit.
Jennifer, thank you for starting my day with a beautiful and inspiring message! It was a much needed reminder to intentionally incorporate creativity into the tyranny of cram-packed schedules. I have been reading about and meditating on the concept of the intentional pause. This video is a piece to that puzzle for me. Much love to you💝
I love the idea of using soft fruit for a tart! My youngest just turned 4 and I am finally feeling like I can come out of survival mode and be a little more creative in my homemaking. Thank you for this beautiful video!
This is a beautiful video Jennifer! I’m reading more too and I’ve started over with your books ❤ Which I love. And I just have to make the fruit tart. It looks & sounds delicious!
Good morning Jennifer, I love watching your videos as I enjoy breakfast - your content is very relaxing and I get great ideas - the ease in which you made the pie crust (and pie) makes me want to run get the ingredients and make a pie too. Thank you for sharing your mornings with mine. Oh, I love the book place holders.
Thank you! The great thing about the tart is most people will already have the ingredients on hand. You can substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour if you don't have it.
I love to put scripture or quotes on bookmarks and embellish with pressed flowers! Ideally I’d do calligraphy; but since I can’t, I use a pretty font and print onto cardstock and then cut them out. Thank you for your encouragement for less computer and more READING! We all need that. ❤
I saw my name written on the envelope and got excited for a second until I realized I wasn't the Kristin you were sending the bookmark to! The flowers from Thursday Boot are absolutely gorgeous. And Ben and I have the same favorite tea!
Blessings and love from Chile, meditating and praying for you and your family. Yogi Tea have been a staple in our house for 20 years. The golden rule in a yogic house is that you make yogi tea when you have guests and your home smells divinely inviting to feel cozy and lovingly warm. Let me know if you want me to share the yogic way to make chai tea 🙏🏼😇
I love your tortilla soup recipe! I always buy it, but I plan to try your recipe. One of the things I struggle with is missing my Mother who died in 2019. My MIL's health has deteriorated so much and this may be our last Thanksgiving and Christmas with her. I wish we had more friends in the near area we've moved to because I feel so lonely. I'll have to try making the tea as well. It looks so pretty in the crock pot with those cinnamon sticks. This might sound a bit silly, but I would so love to start a tradition of afternoon tea with close friends, but everyone works different hours. It's just my husband and myself and the friends that would most appreciate this live an hour away. One friend is caring for her ailing mother and working full time and the other one is recovering from a severe illness. Maybe it's harder to find new female friends in one's 50s?
Enjoyable video! I’m always surprised I enjoy watching you make your crafts as it’s not something I personally take time for. Tortilla soup sounds good. However no spices? I feel like at least taco seasoning is needed! Beautiful tart. As for the chai tea, it looks good. But as an Indian, the “proper” way to cook chai at home is to cook/boil the milk/water combo first, then add the tea bags/spices, and sugar at the end. Chai is supposed to be thick and creamy, not watery, so cooking the milk to get rid of the “rawness” is always first. ❤
Jennifer have you read Hidden Art by Edith Schaefer? You would love it, written in the 70’s and encourages everyone to find hidden art within the home!
Great idea with the bookmarks, and the fruit tart looks yummy! I enjoy relaxing into cozy homemaking this time of year . Thank you Jennifer, I hope you are doing better ❤
Ive been wanting to make my own chai tea at home and of course you make it look so easy ! And chicken tortilla soup is one of my favorite soups. I also love chilli (turkey) and new england clam chowder.!!
Henry James is yummy!!!!! 💕 I've never forgotten one of Alistair Cooke's intros to The Golden Bowl, on Masterpiece. He said that the way James writes, the raising of an eyebrow can be as momentous to plot as violence in a plot ... or something very like that, that subtlety was everything. I may not have it quite right, but I always remember the "eyebrow" part.
Thank you for the recipe ideas! We'll definitely be trying your chicken tortilla soup recipe! My daughter and I are also excited to make the dried-flower bookmarks and look forward to working on them this weekend! Your videos are also so inspiring and calming. Thank you for sharing part of your days with us!
Hi Jennifer, such a nice episode! I have been wanting to press flowers. I saw a frame with glass front and back. Dried pressed flowers look gorgeous displayed this way. I love your slow cooker chai, I must give it a try!
Jennifer, thank you for another elegant and relaxing video. I’m cracking up because I noticed that at the end of your video my two cats are in a blissful state! Normally, at this particular hour, they’d be hounding me for their dinner! They, too, must love your calming videos!!!♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for continuing to bring beauty into our lives. Be blessed!
Jennifer! 'Tasting History With Max Miller' has a video titled 'The Noble Origins of Afternoon Tea' I believe you would rather enjoy it!! It seems very much like your cup of tea.😅
I try to glean a little something from each self-help video I watch. I'll take away from this one incorporating creative down-time activities. Turning off the computer earlier and earlier sounds like the perfect way to reclaim your personal time. Thanks, Jennifer.
Your bookmarks are nice, but the way you laminate them -- one bookmark in the middle if a sheet of laminating material -- seems wasteful to me. Couldn't you laminate several with plenty of room surrounding them. That would be a big savings. You would have to handle them carefully but they don't have to be positioned perfectly on the sheet since you trim off the excess.

I love that you schedule that time.
I love that, Kendra. With an almost 2 year old, that could even go into the self care column. 😊
@@mommabear5059 Definitely! Lol!

Love the book “Hidden Art” by Edith Schaefer. All about the art of Homemaking!
I believe watching your videos in the morning, with a warm cup of coffee is one of my most relaxing rituals✨✨❤️❤✨✨✨🧘🏽♀️
Lovely video and lovely bookmarks 🔖 ❤

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSPIRING VIDEOS.
Your handmade bookmarks preserving God’s creation are beautiful. I would write a Bible promise on the backside in classic calligraphy.
Thank you. I just love chai and will be trying your Crock-Pot ideas! I have some baked chicken that I need to use and tortilla soup will hit the spot. Have a lovely day ahead.

The tea “recipe” is timely as I was just searching for this kind of thing without much luck. Thanks!

Yummy tea recipe. ❤
So how exactly do you press the flowers?
Love these ideas ❤

Beautiful craft!
I add lime juice & a jar of salsa to my chicken tortilla soup
That would be a great addition!
Such a lovely video, Jennifer! I’m literally going to make that pie right now… I think I’ll use apples, maybe top it with an oat crumble.
I think she has an old video that shows an apple tart recipe
lovely
This was relaxing sorry about your dad
❤
