When you said “specially with cooking, what a joy “I got teary-eyed, because I truly find joy in cooking. I often get criticized for my love of cooking and have even been told the reason why I love cooking is because I don’t have any children but then I look at you with the same passion and yet you have four children and a husband so technically you feed 6 miles and you still love it and don’t find it dreadful. I wish people stop saying that to me.
Terrible that people say that to you. I enjoy cooking for me and my husband. It keeps us happy and healthy. You are smart to cook nice meals. Greetings from The Netherlands!
I don't know why anyone would say something like that but i understand because my friends are always making snide remarks about my love of cooking. They almost take pride in saying they hate cooking. For me, cooking is a form of creativity!
Keep cooking. Sometimes people are jealous, or intimidated so they try to knock down what they don't understand. I love to cook, and I have always lived alone. You could invite them to dinner or bring a yummy dish to a potluck. They would enjoy it. But even if they never get to taste your food, I beg you continue to enjoy cooking. It is a wonderful creative and delicious activity. Just give them a serene and mysterious smile and silence. They will be caught off guard, you have no need to defend yourself or try to change their opinion. Be strong. (I feel sorry for folks who have to knock others down.)
I too have a love of cooking and I do not have children. Cooking is creative and , for me, therapeutic. Its very close to instant gratification and i can share, something I love to do, with others. ❤ 😊
I’m sorry you experience this, too. I think among women, it is a thing of competition. It’s no secret that men love food, and appreciate women who cook, and will often compliment your food enthusiastically. I’ve had a lot of snarky comments (only and ever from other women) about “wanting all the praise” and “spoiling these men and making them expect such treatment” and so on. I don’t mean to make them look bad, or suggest they should love cooking as much as I do, we all have our gifts. Eventually, I’ve learned to just smile and dismiss their comments (internally) and refuse to receive their condemnation. Refuse to shrink. Keep offering my gifts with joy and let them deal with their own negative feelings, while I enjoy my positive ones. I’m sorry they miss out on the satisfaction of delighting others with beautiful, nourishing food, made with love and served with joy. By the way, a delightful movie to watch as a foodie is “Babette’s Feast”, if you haven’t seen it already, may I suggest you watch it? You will feel so understood! Cheers, fellow home chef! 🥂
Watched this to calm down after getting overwhelmed with the baby… your channel always does the trick and rejuvenates my spirit. I feel ready to tackle the rest of the day again. Thank you Jennifer :)
I enjoy watching your homemaker videos about creating a beautiful home. They give me motivation because I’ve been one for so many years that many tasks have become drudgery! I also enjoy them because you kind of show your life from an introvert’s perspective. I am also an introvert.
About a month or so ago, I heard a Godly woman addressing this very thing. She said instead of saying, "I have to..." say, "I get to...". Instead of saying, "I need to..." say ," I get to..." It's thoughts of great gratitude replacing weights of burden! Truly
I love "nesting" in our home on the road. Homemaking can be enjoyable with the right state of mind and bring so much comfort and peace. Thank you for sharing your recipes also.
I absolutely adore your content. I tend to save a few and watch them back to back. After I view, I always feel so calm and peaceful. Thank you for adding your light to our rocky world!
I reached for your channel to help myself feel centered and calm. I have family coming soon to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. It’s a happy occasion and I also find my nervous system activated. Thank you for presenting this beautiful video story.
I love the videos in your home. It is so cozy and comfortable. Thank you for for sharing your homemaking with us. Every video I pick up something to incorporate into my home life.
Thank you for always including recipes for the things you make. You’re very good about that, even for things like the tuna casserole where you’re not using a specific recipe. I’m making it tonight. Thanks.
Chives are ideal with all things fish & potato. This video is nostalgic because since we were newlyweds I make tuna casserole "when we're fighting..." 😂 It is a pantry meal go to when "We need to Talk!" ~ Our home is modern art & lots of white & ivory. They've held up beautifully thru 2 rescue pups... Keep returning to the treasured soul place. ~With love to You & our lovely community
Hi Jennifer, love the look of that tuna casserole! Those roses in your garden are beautiful. I live in the UK and ours are finished for this year due to the cold here. (We also get lots of rain storms as you know). Those throws look great in your lounge. I hope you are feeling ok after having a difficult time xxx
I really enjoyed today's video!!! The tuna casserole looks so good, I will try your recipe! I love hominy. All those flavors together in your salad looks so delicious. I so enjoy your meals. I get so many great ideas. Thank you.
The Blue Zones inspired me many years ago to focus on eating healthy whole foods, so I can't wait to try your recipe. I hope I can find the hominy. Thanks for the beautiful and cozy video!
You bring cozy confort to my life with all your wonderful tips!!! That cacerole so delicious, the sofa looks so beautiful!! Love it. Thank you Bella Jennifer.
I found it so valueable when you said.."how comforting are these rituals".. we often think of it as drudgery, but it's indeed a privilege. I remember Martha Stewart saying..while she was in prison, she found comfort in sweeping the yard, wishing she was back in her own..
I made your pumpkin bread this week and shared a loaf with a neighbor - it was a hit - thank you for the recipe. I'm going to try the three sister's salad this weekend!!!
I loved this beautiful video of everyday things...the comfort food, the rainstorm your cozy living room. I want to try to replicate the warm salad, it looks delicious! I read a poem the other day about comments things...here is part of it. When black despair beats down my wings and heavenly visions fade away, let me bend to common things, the tasks of everyday...William Canton
Love it, Jennifer! I can’t wait to see your Christmas decorating. I recently posted my woodland Christmas tree and have been absolutely loving having an early Christmas! 🌲
I love your housewife/homemaker videos. I get my apron on and go to town while listening. Thanks, Jennifer for giving us positive homemaker vibes. Also, this is how we dress folks. A comfy housedress, cute apron, and either barefoot or house shoes or slippers. Not high heels. Lol
Thank you for your cozy video! I am still digesting the last video where you talked about confidence. I wonder if part of the gift of confidence that some people seem to naturally have is in part due to the love of their fathers. I have gathered from hearing about your father that he loved you dearly and cheered you on. So many today don't have that love and support. I wonder if they miss out on something so valuable, will they ever develop confidence. Just wondering out loud. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Thank you for this video Jennifer. Is it just me or do you have to actually fight with a butternut squash to peel and chop it? I watched Annie Jaffrey cook with one and she also made it look effortless. I, on the other hand, trying to cut one in half, even made it slide off the kitchen counter and onto the floor! Dangerous really 😱
i like the leopard print blankets but i find the grey pillows dont match, try using similar colour palettes, grey is a more cold toned colour, using beige pillow covers would work better!! :D i recently learned this too

With your nice tasting recipe. If you truly want it to be healthy is no cans. You need to re Hydrate the hominy, beans, then cook them, before starting your recipe. That is how we start to get in trouble with our health, not cooking from scratch. I myself are not healthy either, I do alot of cans. When I plan meal plans, I do have enough time to cook properly.

That rainstorm was awesome! It is inspiring to see how you incorporate your work in with homemaking for a beautiful life well lived.

I think you just inspired me to make my mother’s Tuna Noodle Casserole for old time sake!
I’m reading Braiding Sweetgrass now which is where I first heard about the three sisters. It’s a wonderful book. The food looks delicious Jennifer!

Yes, I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. ♥
Mmmm, that caserole looks great, I just might have to copy it tomorrow 😋😅
Thank you for this video Jennifer.

I buy it already peeled and chopped. If you look closely, I pour it from a package in the video. I'm done fighting with butternut squash! haha
Your roses are beautiful, do you have a gardener or do you prune the yourself.
We have gardeners... but I tend to the roses a lot myself.
The 3 sisters were also planted, and called that, by the Seneca Indians in NY
Great coverage. But why don't you cover the sofa's arms?
❤

Hi, I have a proposal for you. Will you have a corporate email to send it to you?

Id rather listen to a good murder mystery .
Those Apple Ear-Pods are no good
Those things do more harm than good, FYI
