It died in the early 2000s. In the 90s you could go to clubs around the country and see huge international DJs literally every week, now festival culture has taken over. If I told youngsters now that I saw Carl Cox, Sasha, Laurent garnier etc in the local club in town for a fiver they’d think I was lying.

First thing you should is ban mobiles so people get into the moment & night, not posing for IG pictures.
Clubbing to me was late 80's til early 2000.
I was lucky enough for the birth of what clubbing exploded to what it was until the wank fest it became, even up until a couple of years ago.
Acid house, the warehouse parties that were & are still legendary. I'm from Brighton & Sunday nights we had Carl Cox playing in small pubs before he became worldwide famous. The drugs were E, clean E, acid mostly.
Coke, mobile phones & poseurs killed the club scene.
I hope for the generation of clobbers ll will rise again as it did for my generation. I'm just glad I was in my late teens for the explosions that were house music.
    Good luck 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Why demonise phones when you probably use them yourself. Yes they can bring distance between you and those you're physically with, but on a night out when friends lose each other/someone may need to leave early, banning phones sounds like an awful idea.

Clubs are a whole different world onto their own. As long as you’re in there, it’s a different universe, a place with the outside world doesn’t matter, a place where you can just let loose, have fun, and be yourself. That’s what we’re missing! Now we’re all stuck at home isolated from Each other. Human beings are very social creatures, it can you wreak havoc with our mental health if we do not have physical contact with other people, and we’re already beginning to see the effects of that. I pray to God they find an inoculation against this ASAP before we all go completely crazy at home.

They haven't even isolated the supposed virus, so who knows what they're trying to force into our veins. Rather you than me being a Guinea Pig for a corrupt government system....
Even if they do manage to force medicate us, which I doubt they will, things will never return to "before" they don't want it to. Agenda 21 is being rolled out & this virus is the smokescreen being used to pull it off!

They will have to resort to playing music with actual melodies and lyrics to bring people back.

Music died. I have not been to a venue in years that has played good club music, which lines up with the fact that chart music quality has been in freefall since 2012.

So Lets look at the British music scene.
What led to the death of techno and happy hardcore raves is the rise of U.K grime.
Back in the days when I was raving,
drum n bass was always in one of the main arenas along with a separate main arena for happy hardcore and a smaller separate arena for techno.
But the rave scene has completely changed.
Because of the U.K grime scene, the entire focus is on the mcs.
    Check out Stormzy at Glastonbury.
    He was the headline act.
Most Glastonbury acts now are grime artists with pop and rock artists fading into the background.
    Same thing with radio.
Most of the acts played on the U.K radio stations are grime artists.
U.K Grime killed the Techno and happy hardcore scene.
The only people who listen to happy hardcore are the Scottish.
Scousers are more into U.K grime.
    So are Brummies.
The Mancs are more neutral when it comes to music.
The true test of whats really happening in the British music scene is look at what kids on council estates up and down Britain are listening to.
London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, etc.
As for drum n bass, it still has a following on council estates - but nowhere near as much as in the 1990's
Trust me, I know the British rave scene inside out aswell as the overall British music scene.
The young kids on council estates are the benchmark for measuring the British music scene.
Grime is what most kids on council estates are listening to.
The days of Indie rock music from the 1990's are long gone.
    Sad, but true.

Take it from someone who was involved in the indie scene, club culture is today's equivalent of the Weimar era cabaret of the 1920s. Club culture has always been escapist and politically apathetic. Even Jello Biafra wrote a song about this, Saturday Night Holocaust, saying exactly that. Ibiza is just like Berlin in 1925.

I do wonder what the future of clubs will be, I suspect those that close will come back in another form or shape when things improve again
