Three Voices, One Pickup Set?! || Fishman Fluence Killswitch Engage Signature Set Demo/Review Видеоклипы
Well damn, only took about a year to get this video out 🙃 Thanks for everyone for being patient with me!
Just a quick little reminder, I want to start offering you guys a shot to win guitars of your choosing on my Patreon, but I really need your help to make it feasible. Check it out! www.patreon.com/agufish
I have this exact set and it took me forever to wire and I'm pretty sure its still wire wrong cause i have a hum unless i toggle "single coil mode" so I'm pretty sure they need rewired
Man it would've taken me a year just to figure out that wiring job...
shadow life check for a grounding wire make sure the bridge and guitar itself is grounded for the humming issue. Also check for cold solder joints.
Hey hunter great video as always wondering out of all the fishmans you have tried so far which are you absolute favorite.
Any chance you could share the wiring diagram based on how you wired it?
The flame on the top is gorgeous
Something I noticed when mixing this is how “bell like” the neck pickup sounds. Very interesting sound that I haven’t heard from other pickups.
Luke Kramer this mix was fucking FIRE. Just saying 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Kaelan Saunders thanks dude! Hit me up if you want me to do anything of yours!
Luke Kramer Needs more cowbell
Adam R oh damn! Looks like I accidentally had that track muted! I’ll have Hunter take this video down and reupload.
Luke Kramer easy Luke, don’t want to do that! All in fun man. It was a great mix!
I watched you sweep away
Hopeless, with no chords to play
I've strained my fingers
Hoping to shred you again
This. Is. My. Fishmans!
Tornado of souls lyrics? xD
There is Fishman!
Burning to find you
Will you wait for me?
@@4572dk its from my curse it a kse song
KSE voice 3 is definitely interesting!
Caparison KSE sig is the best metal axe I've heard in my life!
The sound is amazing. Great job.
Seriously dude this one of your nicest playing! I enjoyed it!
I love that you also did a comparison with other fishman pickup sets. Great work!
Great demo! I must say, that figure on your ML-2 maple top is perfect, and it's even better with that colour.
Hunter...I'm a early subscriber...and by all means don't forget those beautiful melodic arpeggios...it may sound simple but by far the most sweetest riffs you play everyone makes mega distortion riffs its ok but ..as you get older the more classier and tasteful you will play and we will wait to hear your progression to melodic bliss. GREAT CHANNEL HUNTER..! Cheers from Newport Beach, CA.
Track is super killswitch bro..ya playing has gotten way better my friend .nailed the k.s.e sound man.🤘
Great song at the beginning! loved it ❤️🤘🏻
Your guitar playing is improving every video! 👍
Great review Hunter! I've never been a big fan of the Chapman single cut, but yours looks amazing! I'm loving all the Fishman's you've reviewed. Great tones. Only quibble is the lack of quick connect plugs (for all 3 voices), but you already know that. Rock on bro! 😎🎸
Haha, one of the reasons it took me so long to get a video out. Wiring these up scared me... :(
☯️
Great video!
The end of a broken clean outro 🕯 sounds amazing
Dude! I've been looking at some fishmans for myself and learned something completely unrelated. The way you wire your cap to the tone pot is ingenious. Don't have to wire a separate ground. Definitely using that in the future
Great playing on this vid
Wouhou ! First one ! 😜
Great job Hunter love your stuff!
I think it makes sense they went for a slightly lower output, KSE has always been using their maxons extensively so that does the job very well when paired with not so hot pickups. nice sounds i like it a lot.
damn man these look sick af
Wow, that a really interesting was of making pickups, might consider giving them a look
I need that chapman, your top is one of the prettiest I have seen tbh
Those are the exact pickups I've been looking at AND the same guitar, so you killed 2 birds for me. I'm in love.
My favorite sounds dirty came from the Chapman, my favorite sounds clean came from the Gibson, which is one awesome looking guitar.
Thanks for making such an in-depth review. There aren't many fluence vids on yt that really showcase the tone from what I've seen. In the case of this set however, I feel like they sound a little bit thinner and more hollow than the other sets. It's like they're missing the low-end presence the other fluence sets have. Single coil voice sounds great though. How well do these stack up against the original fluence moderns? I'm on the fence about getting a set, and I'm not sure which to choose.
Only question: Why is there no connector system like with EMG's???
Would make installation a breeze...
you need to check out some of the Lace humbuckers, you'd probably like some of the signatures they have.
I have the Fluence Abasi Set in my guitar also with three voices and it's by far the best sound out of a guitar I've heard so far! They are expensive, but at least for me really worth it.
For a "absolute noob" you did great man.
Not the most complex set of pickups to wire but for certainly not the easiest...considering it's working I say you did really well.
Even being skilled at soldering and doing as many rewires as I have, I still finish the odd job plug in and realize I forgot a ground.. or wired a pot backwards -_-
Love KSE.Those pickups sound Boss!!
That's the craziest flame top on a Chapman I've ever seen!
That guitar is beautiful, man.
Awesome vid! Love KSE. So you can access all 3 voices without changing wiring schemes? That's where I got confused.
I thought the Fishman installation was pretty tricky as well. I couldn't figure out if I was supposed to jumper off the a thing for coil splits on the moderns, and ended up with both voices on a push/pull, but no split I think. I'm no expert, but I've installed a couple sets of pickups. Not the easiest installation for sure.
Hey I have just bought the ec-1000t ctm which has the 3 voices…if I buy these will I just be able to swap them super easy??
I think I like the Adler bridge and the KSE neck the most.
Another rad riff. Dig the Killswitch flare
I'd love to see the tosin 6 string set next! I've only ever heard clean demos of those, and the only distorted clips are lead lines or muddy crunch bass thumps. I want to hear how they sound in all aspects like you did with this demo. My question is: do you prefer flat top guitars or carved top?
Matthew Horn check out Unbiased gear reviews by Arnold plays guitar. I think the video was of a 7 or 8 string but you still can get a good feel for them.
nice! Thanks!
Where did yout put the 9v-block?
Care to offer any information on how you got the wiring correct? I'm interested but not sure how it would work with 1vol/2tone or even 1vol/1tone.
I’ve honestly been considering getting a set of fishmans, but I don’t know where to start. These demos help a lot in my decision process, and I appreciate that. Do you think you’ll be doing the Devin Townsend set at all?
Is there a way to get the second voice with the down position and voice 1 in the up position? I've not seen that mentioned anywhere.
Another great review. I would like to see you a solar guitar review and also a wolf guitar review.
Would you be able to use the other voices of the Fishmans with the push pull pots EMG has for the Duel-Mode pickups?
Your distorted tone this time around was off. whether it wasn't pre-amped or not as much, or mixed weird, something wasn't right to my ears
Sounds so hollow and dry. Needs treble. I have no idea how he ends up happy with this EQ.
Its probably the pickups
Yeah, it just didn’t sound right, but I really enjoyed the cleans.
However, that’s not why someone would usually buy these. I really just want the moderns. I wish the Adler set came in black, the current finish goes with almost nothing lol.
Too much gain?.
Hey Tyler! Short question: Would it be possible to install the Fishman Fluence Devin Townsend Humbuckers into a guitar whith passive humbuckers in it?
Would like to eventually have all the fluence sets in a guitar. I really love them all in a way they all have there own little tweaks.
Can you do a review of the Billy Corgan BC1 from Reverend? I heard this is a very versatile guitar and I would love to get your take on it.
Dope original man
That dirty playthrough was fizzy as hell and the pickups aren't the problem
You can thank the shitty rise in cab simulator and impulse responses every RUclipsr uses now.
Zakk Wyld’s rig sounds super fizzy. He uses marshals and emgs. It’s a matter of taste not a matter of plugins vs amps.
what is the song playing from 0:35 - 2:42 ??? really it has stuck in my head for good
Wow I wish my ghost fret pro top layer had your guitars grain structure, btw the pickups are sick
Which guitar is that teal/green single cut? The one with Fishman Classics
can i ask a question there be possible if i change passive pickups into active pickups like fishman modern
Hey, anyone have any tips on installing these pickups into this chapman? Anyone use the universal batter? Wondering how to install cus there doesnt seem to be enough space for it.
Speaking of the high intergity mod project when is the hello kitty mod project coming out
Soon :)
FINALLY
Hey I just stumbled upon your video, right now, and I was really interested in the wiring for these pick-ups. I'm actually building my own guitar from scratch, loosely based on the Music man JP6, but I've decided I want to get these pick-ups. Do you have any advice on wiring? I've never done my own electronics before...... Well any of it, really haha. But I'm at the point where I need to get this stuff installed... But I can't seem to figure out the wiring. If you have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!
I’m having a hard time choosing between these and the Adler set. How do they stack up against each other and is the third voice good?
Anyone have a diagram/schematic for Vol/Vol/Tone?
killswitch engage instant like
devin townsends' set also has 3 voices
So does Tosin's set.
So does the KM set
Anyone got any idea bout reversing the tone knob that is used for changing from active to passive , but I'd rather wanna have it the other way around i.e. from passive to pulled up active like a boost .. any thoughts ?
Yeah just flip the connections on the tone push/pull pot
Do you have the schematic for this? Wiring diagram would be awesome. Thanks!
I'm really liking that rhythm chug. Installation looks like a pain, though. I'd probably run to a tech. 😂
Haha to be fair, I think I've made it look harder than it is
Hey. It's been a while since video, but can you give a wiring diagram? Thanks in advance.
I have the modern fluence in my 6 string and an abasi set in my 7 string and I love them. But honestly I'm thinking about buying a 3rd guitar and putting a set of the adlers in it.
I already have the adler set im probably going to have to snag up a set of classics next
How do you like the adlers?
These sound like they’d work REALLY well for country.
What the hell's that minty greem-ish singlecut? I really want one of those!
Hi, are the pups made of black plastic on top?
Hey what string dampener do you use?
Man the top on that ml2 is insane .
Have you checked Zombie Dust Pickups out yet? More specifically the Doomster set [pretty sure they're hand wound and hand aged plus they're on the cheaper side]
So are Fishman Pickups better than EMG pick ups? I am seeing more signature guitars have them.
Are all the guitars in this video yours? I know the gibson is, but the chapman and the green one?
Ive watched a lot of your vids lately to check out the diffrent sounding pickups that fishman offers to 6 strings. To each their own, everyones looking for the "next new thing/sound" thats cool, i get it. but, for some reason, im finding the fishmans ive listened to sounding pretty flat in comparison to newer Duncan passive pick-ups on 6 string guitars no matter voice 1/2 on n/b..now i love the sound of the fishman modern 8 string sets for jenty stuff for some odd reason. And i think its because i feel the fishmans actually dial back the bass on an 8 string where the mix for guitar exists without fighting kick and bass guitar. something is definitely missing to my ears on 6 string fishmans though for me...they dont sound really alive to me, no body idk, sounds pretty dead, and im not biased to any of it at all! Infact, i honestly just ordered a set of fishmans for my 8 string ibanez rg8. After doing that, i thought of replacing my Duncan in my other guitar, but after all the comparison of watchin your vids and everyone else's on youtube. I think my SD is gonna stay in my 6 string Vee until im convinced otherwise. Maybe its me idk? Seems balanced but with no ass behind em. Flat mids is what im hearing. Im after solid good tone and alive not into just having new stuff that everyone else is using or running twords.i play a lot vids back to back with a Duncan vs fishman in my studio moniters and earbuds...maybe im crazy, i dont think that i am, but i do believe what my ears are telling me. Its all subjective i suppose, thats why i said to each their own. Its whatever sound ppl are into. I do like your videos though, keep up the good work! 👍 helped me a lot thank you!
THE FUCKING RIFF
Which one of them All do you like the most? killswitch or Adler...?
Will we see any Lace demos anytime soon ?
Hey Agu, I'm looking to upgrade my setup for metal once I have a better amp, looking at probably a boss Katana to give myself versatility. The thing I need though is a good guitar. I currently have an LTD-10 Ec-10 for heavy stuff. I've been thinking of doing fretwork on it, changing the pickups for emgs, and getting locking tuners. Is it worth it to upgrade it like that? Or should I save my money and get a better guitar right out the box? I'm definitely looking at budget guitar, I don't have the money for something up. Even $400 dollar guitars are a bit much for me right now. If I should venture to get a new guitar, what would you recommend? Keep in mind that currently my favorite guitar to hold in my hands and play is the Fender Thinline Tele. I want this to be a rig I could gig with and really have a nice sound that makes me feel like Jim Root, or James Barnett. I'm not opposed to buying a better guitar that's still quite affordable then buying the little gear I need to give it the tone I like.
@@user-sc9en5iv3m You mean something like a used epiphone model? That could work, I'll have to give it a look. Thanks
Dude! The top on your ml2 is dirty!!
AGUFISHMAN!
Best sounding Rob Chapman guitar I've heard
Shoot him the link
I know this is a video about the pickups but I was super distracted by the undeniable sexiness of that ML2...
Fishman for agufish
What kind of guitar is that green one?
Gotta demo those Stef Carpenter Fishmans next. I 've heard some baaaad things about them
Okay, next up, the Jeff loomis Blackouts! The KSE’s are alright, better than most actives but I feel like they lack something I heard in the Townsend set and the moderns. Great job though!
i preferred the Adler ones. but the glass like on the KSE is dope.
Volume-Volume-Tone is the exact wiring diagram I've been looking for. Any chance you'll save us the struggle of going through your pain and post a diagram for this? :)
That’s what I’m looking for too! You get any results?
KSE Fishman sounds way tighter than the others.. 🤘🤘
could you please, please please review the Tagima TG-530 guitar??
they say it's a good quality guitar much like a fender american strat under 200 USD, but others said that it's more like a squier bullet strat.
So, which set do you like more? Will Adler or KSE?
Did you try the included picks and if so, did you like them?
My favorite is still the Adlers. The dirty tones are just insane. But I think the KSEs are the most versatile, and I like the neck for cleans the most!
And yeah, two moves in 6 weeks, RIP all of my red Jazz IIIs. At one point the KSE picks were all I could find. They were alright, nice and thick. I liked the small one, but I missed the 3D logos of my usual ones lol
KSE, Modern, David Townsend, Adler...? Which one might “cover” the most tones and “genres” of music, not just Metal? I’m interested in Something versatile if l can say so...
How do you change the voicings
awesome ! please also review the Stephen carpenter set as well
AxilleasLiverpool check out Unbiased gear reviews by Arnold plays guitar. He demo’d those, Moderns, and Tosins
Chapman pro modern or ltd ec-1000 ?
turns out the adlers are still my favorite.
