Now Complete With Caramelized Maple!! || Jackson Misha Mansoor Pro Series Juggernaut HT6 Demo/Review - Видеоклипы
Still a little concussed, so getting this out was a little bit of a struggle. OK imma take some pain medication and go back to sleep now lol. Next video sometime later I dunno when my face hurts ok bye
I built some full custom guitars for myself several years ago that had some experimental features (though a lot of them were just features only found on really expensive guitars at the time) and one feature was completely flat, no radius fretboards. I built my three main guitars with them and they've remained my main guitars for many years now. Pretty sure you'd HATE playing them lol.
I don't know what accident happened to you, but best wishes on your recovery. :-)
I hope u feel better soon go
slow and sorry u are hurting.
Honestly I think this guitar is a miss in so many spots. I would happily pay 1499 for a hips hit bridge proper locking tuners and the juggernaut pickups. Come on jackson and misha you can't just make a shotty guitar this day in age and slap mishas name on it and call it good. Even the fret board looks crappy. But just my opinion.
Lesson learned: lube your bolt holes before screwing.
hahaha lol
This is probably one of the most brutal sounding tracks I heard from this channel in ages.
Papa bless
Mate you ok? That tooth chip made me a little sick. Pls get better.
Charvel and Jackson: Carmelized
Music Man and Ibanez: Roasted
Gibson: Baked
Your lives are now complete.....
And then for some reason, Fender calls it Roasted Maple as well, instead of Caramelized. Marketing is funny lol
@@agufish Haha ikr! Hope you feel better Hunter!
Saw what happened in IG Hunter, get well soon and thanks for pushing trough to deliver the content!
Aleksander Djuran what happened ?
@@csn-audio Hunter fell off a scooter, covered in burns and chipped his teeth. This was recorded before that though.
I really appreciate your guitar reviews because I always learn something about bridges, tuners, and especially pickups. You take your time with your vids and it shows!
I love your videos! Great demo, super cool guitar, the best guitar reviews! Keep rocking! 🤘🏼
Hey Hunter, we're all glad you avoided a severe head injury. Ice up and heal. Thanks for the demos.
They don't sound exactly like the Bareknuckles, but I'm damn impressed with how Jackson was able to capture the spirit of that Misha Mansoor signature sound!
Bad nut, uncooperative g string, AND messy bolt holes? (5 year old me laughing uncontrollably inside)
Wish you a fast recovery, Hunter!
Great review! I found this to be helpful in my own research on this specific guitar. Thanks!
Man, the rhythm part in the begining riff was tiiiight. Nice playing dude, hope you're feeling better, too!
Get well soon, man, looked pretty gnarly on IG. So metal. Much wow.
Gorgeous guitar
Thanks for the honest opinion. That’s rare in my experience. Fricker’s Fearless Gear Reviews is the only other place I can think of that I see that. Well done sir.
YUS!
I want it. Got the previous model and I really like it. I wished it to have this 2o' radius fingerboard...and now finally, Jackson decided to make it. So, probably before the end of the year, I will buy this guitar :) Obviously, Bare Knuckles are not present as well, but these pickups do sound good :)
It's also worth noting that the older Pro Series actually had a Jackson speed neck. So the neck radius and profile were both different, not just the radius. The new models have the same neck profile and radius as the USA models
I normally hate blue guitars, but that one is just gorgeous. Like looking at the water in the Caribbean.
i love that. writes a whole demo, sends it THEN questions if it's good :P it is.. it is.
Hope you feel better man!
To all who wonder, basswood is a very neutral wood in terms of sonorities. It allows the guitar to release the whole color of the pickups. Moreover it's very light :)
IMO wood doesn't affect tone at all. The tone comes from pickups, scale length, and maybe hardware material type.
@@digoutyourMUSEsoul I can assure that the wood has a lot of influence. Have you ever read tonewood guides? I have tried a lot of guitars with different pickups and scale. They count, but the wood also has influence on the sustain, stability and tone. If it wasn't the case, all guitars would be made of cheap basswood.
@@digoutyourMUSEsoul if the wood type doesn't have any effect on tone why would the material of the hardware change anything either? Especially if you consider the materials used for hardwares are much more consistent between one another than even woods of the same species are.
@@jaymilo9317 I think it has a big importance as long as you're playing acoustically. Once you plug it into an amp all the the things I mentioned take a bigger importance in tone. There are several videos on RUclips showing this. I have a very cheap Squier with a Seymour Duncan JB and sounds a lot better than my American Fender one with stock pickups. As far as I know the squire one isn't the same type of wood than the Fender and I bet it is a much cheaper one. When playing acoustically the fender wins every time tho. However I bet they will sound the same if they both had the same pickups.
@@hilgorgruppenschaaft2203 Because they are the first thing that touch the strings (talking about bridges and nut for example)... Even the pick is more important than wood IMO. There is a video made by Darrel brown showing the differences between a stock Stratocaster sustain block versus a custom one...the difference in tone, while not so extreme, is noticeable. I think wood may have a bigger importance when playing acoustically, but when you plug it in an amp it doesn't matter that much. Your strings, setup, hardware, pick material have a bigger role in the tone IMO. However that's just my opinion, I would love to see video analyzing this tonewood myth!
I surprisingly liked the Jackson voiced pickups!!!
Oh, hats off to your riffing! 🤘
Other 20' radius: Strandberg lol
You've basically just confirmed for me 20' is the shit, thank you :D
@@mitchellbarlowmusic 🤣👍
That demo song was on f-ing point!
I own 1 of every model he has put out and I have never had issues with the tuning on or off tour. It may have just been the model you received! Enjoyed the review though!
John prettruci love basswood. Its light and brings the tone that many woods cant
I had the same problem with the nut on my Indonesian made Soloist. I wound up refiling the nut and it solved the issue. It was filed a bit narrow
Bareknuckles: Expensive, but a lot cheaper than a new guitar. And that's usually what it feels like when you stick them in anything with stock pups.
Are you going to do a review of the Harley Benton 212?
I would say just buy them. I have the 112 vintage and it's nice but I have no reference. Despite, the black stuff that covers the wood (torlex?) seems not to be that durable but idc. I guess the cap costs less than 2 V30s and you can always find an empty cap or build your own like soulhenge (YT channel) did.
So which one do you like better:Pro Juggernaut or PRS SE Holcolm?
Can Someone pls tell the fit and finish and quality differences between this ht6 and Charvel's dk24s. I really like the look of these but the dk 24 looks a bit more well-made and feels more premium. can someone please confirm/deny this? i'm torn.
Basswood is the cheese of woods but to add an alternative albeit a little heavier oak would be a stellar substitute from a durability standpoint
I own the previous misha ht7 with the 16" radius. I'm not a rhythm player, but that guitar strangely makes me want to play it like a tele and riffs.
Interesting, you liked the previous model you owned. Has quality come down that bad?
Flat fingerboards are my favorite, even though I’m a rhythm guitarist. These are fantastic guitars, minus some of the hardware, as you mentioned.
Also, basswood bodies are great. Remember when people used to assume rosewood was only for cheap fretboards?
Lol once basswood gets listed by CITES you’ll have everyone screaming from the rooftops about how desirable it is
Agufish 😂 That is a fact, sir.
lightweight body and flat fb very good!
Any chance you can review the Jackson Pro Series Monarkh? Thanks mate :D
Guthrie's sig is basswood too!
Just like vai’s sig
Exactly. And it’s awesome.
The mix sounded great b
Thanks man!
Luke Kramer yeah man for sure
What do you think about a 14 inch radius?
Basswood is very light, that's why Misha wanted it for the stage.
Do they come with stainless steel frets?
I have a old chinese charvel very worn up from the 90’s (yeah those are pretty rare, its a CS 20 btw) and i’m sure that it have a 12’ fingerboard and I played some fenders and my charvel feels a little bit flat...
I think because of that fingerboard i wouldn’t pick up that guitar, but the other specs looks nice and it fits what I like in a guitar.
Hope you recover soon, take it easy!
How does this compare to the PRS SE Holcomb you reviewed months ago? That one is a 20" inch radius too :/
CarlGonzalesGuitar This guitar isn’t even in the same ballpark quality wise as the Holcomb SE IMO.
Feel-wise I actually like this one better. The roasted maple neck makes this guitar feel higher-quality than it probably is. Neither are my first choice, though haha
That fretboard is a plank
I think its hilarious that when Gibson started using baked maple a few years ago everyone was laughing but nooow its the big thing. I love my baked maple sg.
lol the curse of being Gibson...
It’s definitely the nut for the tuning, I changed it the day I got it from Sweetwater and I’ve had no issues with tuning stability now. Thank god they revamped his HT6 because this one destroys it.
I hope you recover very soon dude.
Hope you're getting better man
Ltd EC Black Metal, maybe a review in a near future?? 😱
I thought this was the perfect guitar for me because of all the specs. But if the tuning stability is horrible then its not gonna work for me because i am a very hard strummer (i play in a gojira coverband). Is there something you can reccomend for tuning stability?
Buy another guitar
Have you all seen the new Ibanez exotic wood series? Damn they are so nice looking! Sadly you can't coilsplit them.
Btw. Hunter I wish you all the luck recovering!
Thankfully the goat of reviews reviewed this controversial guitar. Which neck did you find thiner? This one or the PRS Mark Holcomb one?
How long do you spend with each guitar. I went from an LTD EC 330 (Les Paul shape) to an Ibanez and it took me a week to get used to the Ibanez scale length, radius, etc... Then it became really comfortable.
I keep each one about two weeks to make sure I really know each guitar and can give a full assessment on the instrument rather than just first impressions. Usually I can get used to something and track something within a week, but it took me a lot longer to come up with anything with this one because I just wasn't comfortable with it lol
Looks like the cat was tasting the caramelized fingerboard 😀
I recently bought a Ibanez FRIX6FDQM and it looked the same in the bolt holes, turns out it was just glue which you can easily scrape off. Not too nice for that kinda money, but still no big deal.
Lol I never did give you a yes or no did I? 😂
I do love those blast beats though, that totally wasn’t a pain to mix
The Steve Lukather signature guitars have the same pickup selector scheme. Not seen it anywhere else...
Great video. For $800 I will stick with a Schecter Hellraiser. Just personal taste I suppose.
"And if you believe in tone wood...' hahaha, that's cute. ;)
lol just not a debate I’m looking to get into right now hahaha
Guess Patreon really will come in handy huh? Hope you get better hunter!
Lol its gonna cost basically all Patreon income for the entire year, but could be worse I giess
do an review on the ltd v50. i got one and its amazing
I see no problem all in rounded fretboards, people tends to make a big deal out of it.
I've had 2 indonesian pro series jacksons. They are solid.... Resale SSSSSUUUUCKS. You'd be lucky to get $500 on the used market for that.
This or a km-6 mklll?
Would love something with these looks for funk + rock (without pickups designed 95% for playing metal). Any suggestions?
Edit: by looks I mean I like the shape and body build, it could be pink with hello kitty for all I care. Most important thing is playability though so forget looks. Maybe ergonomics. I have a strat but looking for something more versatile.
Like if this had better tuners, funky neck, and different pickups (5way switch, and switchable coils between funk, Japanese rock etc).. wow.
Really do you look where ur fingers roll?
Okay NEW EMG 81 85 hipshot tuners bone nut then it might be a good guitar !!!! But your right fret board is way too flat for me... Great video keep up with the great work bro !!!
no hate to this guy but when considering this stuff I feel like it's also mandatory to consider the type of music periphery makes
You know it's shit when the thumbnail just says that the fretboard is flat 😂
Jackson dk7q ht next please
I would like an opinion of jackson narrow neck.
How it felt
Shoulder wise
Thickness
And comfort
Since there's none in my place
Those aren’t scratches in the neck bolt holes. It’s residual polish from when the body was buffed at the factory and no one removed it at final inspection. 🫤🤷🏻♂️
Blast beats *PAK PAK PAK PAK PAK PAK PAK PAK PAK*
Yo dood.
How about NK headless? Multi-scale, flame maple neck, luminlays and some models even have stainless steel frets (according to the specs), all for $370
I have one, they're awesome but the people at NK aren't keen on RUclipsr avertising
I actually find 20” easier to chord on than 16”.
Noice Gojira shout outs in that riff fest. I think?
You meant to say Jackson at 15:39, not fender......right?
For $850 I’d rather a Schecter or an LTD. A lot more bang for your buck, and more of their hardware is aftermarket 🤷🏻♂️
Yep. And I don't know what hunter is smoking. these guitars are notoriously lousy for the price. I bought one myself and it was absolutely terrible. On a side note, I just bought my 5th schecter, no regrets.
kohit7 agreed. All Jacksons under $1000 feel cheap for some reason.
@@jaxonvictoria4345 cant agree on that one. i own 3 slattxmg which are just under 1000 bucks and they are fantastic and feel solid af. but the misha sig is terrible when it comes to QC.... the grey one i have has a wobbly volume knob, the pickups arent flat and they are fuckin terrible btw and it never stays in fucking tune. i just like the look of it gonna replace everything
Id just get a soloist pro. No reason other that being a fanboiii to buy this...
@@fredriksvard2603 Schecter is a really good bang for your buck, but I understand the “ew not Schecter” mentality. Some of their guitars are cheesy especially by today’s standards. The logo on their Diamond Series also needs work... and their bass headstocks too.
Me personally, I don't like flat fingerboards. Having it flat starting at around the 9th-12th fret is fine, but it needs to be curvy at least a little down by the nut. Compound radius is obviously the best of both words and my personal favorite, but to each their own I guess. Misha likes it all flat, for whatever reason. If you think this is bad though -- man...You should try the Shawn Lane signature model from Vigier. It's so flat it doesn't even have a radius. I'm serious...there's NO radius to it whatsoever, they make sure the entire board is DEAD flat, with insane precision. That's the way Shawn liked it apparently. One upside -- the flatter the radius is, the lower the action can be without any kind of fret buzz. But it's still pretty damned uncomfortable down by the nut, especially to play the good ol cowboy chords. Try playing the intro to under the bridge, and you'll see what I mean.
periphery plays 6 strings?
So are they taking steps to make their flagship 12-16 obsolete? Man I hope not that was my favorite feature of jackson/ charvel I'm not super fond of ultra flat radius.
I thought the pickups sounded great. I wouldn't pull the stock MM1's for just any set, they would have to be really good sounding.
trust me, they sound pretty bad
The nut is plastic. I changed mine out for a graph tech and it stays in tune very well.
U ok Hunter? I seen your Instagram stories about your accident. Hope your good bro
good guitar, but colors are so bad specially on 7 string model
light blue/orange 7 string? but I think i still choose LTD necks
my $1400 ibanez az is basswood. it's fucking killer
I've been meaning to get an AZ. I'm on a roasted maple binge haha
Basswood is a softer wood. Thats why its often whats used for less expensive guitars. Its easier to cut, not as hard on the tools also... A basswood guitar body will also dent more easily and a Basswood Guitar with a floyd will not last... Just speaking from experience.
The tuners are more than likely ass, change those out stat. Good looking and sounds good.
Say it all with me: “CAH-RAH-MEH-LISED! CAH-RAH-MEH-LISED! CAH-RAH-MEH-LISED! CAH-RAH-MEH-LISED!” 😂😂
...car-meh-lized? :P
Agufish no! Bad hunter!
Just point it out there. Your camera has a dead pixel...also shows me you used some sort of shake reduction cause its moving quite a bit lol...
Split sounds sound significantly quieter on the clean tones. Or is it just me?
Split sounds usually give you a volume drop compared to using the full hum bucker. That's why the Fishman split sounds are so cool, it's got no volume drop. I should probably get a compressor or something, though, seeing as SO many guitars are coming with split features now!
@@agufish yeah. Its just really weird how the clean tones highlights the output difference tho. Maybe to do with the gain boosting the overall volume
In England they only cost £550 $711
on 0:27 you can see the TERRIBLE fretwork on the 22nd fret LOL. Holcomb still has the best bang for the buck sig
That demo track was awesome! I'll pass on the guitar itself though.
I was getting upset that you didn't post on Saturday, then I saw your little incident and felt like an ass hole lol. Hope you get better soon bro
I don’t understand why a Hipshot fixed bridge is considered a “premium appointment”. They are about $60 retail cost to the public and I would only assume cheaper to a builder buying at wholesale pricing. They’re great for fixed bridges don’t get me wrong but people act as if they’re expensive.
It's premium in that it's a super good bridge, and it is expensive to install in your normal import guitar. OEM pricing from large companies is generally half of what the average customer will pay at retail. Since Hipshot is a smaller company, it might be a lower OEM discount. Compared to other generic bridges that can cost under $10, it can add up. Manufacturers are also generally responsible for shipping, and I could be wrong, but I think all Hipshot is made in the USA, so if you're sending it anywhere else in the world that's stupid expensive.
I mean for this price range I'd get an ESP EC-1000 tbh
Me, too. My point with this review is that it's a completely different-feeling guitar because of that radius
Would be nice if the Dinky Pro series had that four bolt construction. The three bolt thing is just weird:/
Coming from an owner of one of those Dinky Pros, that three bolt design is actually super comfortable. Really assists with sweeping.
Shows how hard it is to build one size fits all. Just odd that the low end and high ends are more similar and the mid priced are generally very different.
Sucks it’s a thin u neck shape. I had a Ltd and I hated the neck. Felt uncomfortable 😣
