      I think every Charvel you own or ever played sounds better.. no offence to Jackson lovers! Thats just me saying this, no offence to you or anyone out there viewing comments. Your playing still compliments this guitar, think the Charvel puts that guitar in a lower level. Thanks for sharing

    Jackson sent this guitar to me as part of a sponsorship, and I think it's legit the sleeper hit guitar for people looking for something in that $1k range. There's some powerful treble that needs to be accounted for with the pickups, but that's manageable. Crazy versatile sound, great aesthetic, super playable. Cool to see you review it, Cameron, since I've been following you for a while and your videos really put me onto Charvels!

    Just got one a week ago. Played my first gig with it this past weekend.
    This is my first Jackson. It’s legit. Exceeds my expectations. I can’t find fault with it. Funny thing is I wasn’t looking for a guitar. I was taking a strat and a Les Paul in for some electrical work.
    I saw this guitar and tried it out on a whim. Within a few minutes I knew this guitar was something else. Sounds amazing and is probably the first truly flexible sounding guitar I’ve tried. I’ve had plenty of guitars with flexible switching systems… but the sounds aren’t really that usable.
    With this guitar every position sounds great. It’s still rather hard to believe.
    Tuning is stable. Electronics all work great and sound great. The guitar is light and comfortable. The neck is really nice. Not too thin, but not on the vintage side either. The fretboard compound radius feels good. The fret work is solid. Nothing sticks out.
    I literally can’t find fault with this. And I really don’t like active pickups so this guitar is a testament to how good this guitar does EVERYTHING. Plus with 200 ish hours on a battery I can swap it out every couple months and probably be fine.
    If you’re not stuck on any particular brand, and don’t NEED a vintage instrument you owe it to yourself to try this guitar out.

    I found a used of these. Felt great so I got it. This does not feel like the typical "Speed Neck" that jackson uses. I have a Pro Soloist with that same style neck and it feel very different to me. This felt more like an Ibanez and I really love it.

    Does the body finish feel rough? I'm on the fence with this one. It looks really rough as far as the finish goes when looking at pics and watching videos of it. I wish they would always have at least a solid normal finish for models like this that have all the specs you want.

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  Месяц назад

      It's sandblasted ash. It's not meant to be smooth. There are smooth finishes available except with different specs. The cool thing about these finishes is they're all different, no guitar is the same as opposed to any old boring solid finish.

      @@CameronCooper I was joking about the free lessons, but was serious about getting some theory behind my playing. There are gaps in my understanding so I don't know where to begin. There's an abundance of info online so what's my excuse? Maybe I just need some direction.

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  2 года назад +1

      The most important thing to know in my opinion is the sound of each note and naming it. Then it's so much easier to take what you hear your head put it on the fretboard. Also good to know how to manipulate a scale too. Fair enough a player may know every shape but learning how to phrase within it is a lot of fun and so much more creative !

    • @killerapp201
      @killerapp201 2 года назад

      @@CameronCooper Yes, phrasing within the scale shape is key. Cool man, thanks for the correspondence! I've been a subscribed follower for a while and I look forward to more awesome lessons.
