Having heard these two Jackson DK2 Pro recorded now I think the DK2 Neon Pink sounds darker on chords but brighter and tighter in palm mutes, the DK2 Green Glow Ash seems brighter with notes that are open not palm muted.Either way both great guitars that I absolutely love .

Nice vid fella. I have the DK2 Neon Pink and I love it 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Great guitars mate
That green and black one is sick!!
I bought the green one after your review a while back. My absolute favorite guitar. And it looks badass 😁 Jackson makes great guitars. Love your work 🤘
Thanks ,it looks great doesn’t it definitely the best looking guitar I’ve owned to my eyes
@@NinecoreNeil it sure is! The neck is so smooth and I love the cutaway. Tight sound and the floyd stays in perfect tuning. Overall feels and smell great 😁
@@FiniCkyGuitar ha yes the smell
Awesome review, I like them both, but I think the ash sounds better, or more aggressive. Both factories seem fine to me. Thanks man, sounds great!
Thanks 🙏
I have seen the Green Glow at Guitar Center and it is crazy fabulous looking.
It is a gorgeous guitar and each one is individual due to grain
Just ordered the hot pink DK Pro and I'm stoked. I can't wait
You will love it drop back in and let me know your thoughts 👍
@@NinecoreNeil Will do :D
@@NinecoreNeil 2 week update: I LOVE IT. Super stoked that I went for it.
@@jessiewhitneyTV makes you want the green and white versions ha
@@NinecoreNeil Absolutely
They both sound awesome, but I think I like the green one a bit better Bcs it sounds a little fuller and beefier. Also it is very possible that the aesthetic of the green guitar is convincing me it sounds better lol. Great comparison!
Haha yes our eyes lie
I have a Mexican DK2m, the black and white crackle, I also have 2 BC Rich Gunslingers, with DiMarzio Super Distortions and both over 10 years old, both came out of the same factory in Korea. Solid guitars! One has just a volume, and no tone control- sounds killer, more bite, and richer harmonics than the other Gunslinger that does have the tone control.
I have no need for a tone and tbh only a small need for a neck pickup 🤣
Thank you for this really helpful comparison. These are two models that I’m looking at. What is your general opinion in terms of quality control on Mexican made vs Korean made? Also I couldn’t help notice that the Korean ash body dk2 is about $300 more than the MIM dk pro with almost identical specs. Any idea why that might be? Is ash body generally more expensive than alder? Thanks
Hi I love both guitars they do sound totally different, the painted ash will be where your extra money is going, both very equal on build quality actually
The neck is slightly flatter on the Korean but nothing between them
Hi! Can you please make a video with raw sound from headphones output and preamp output on EVH Stealth 6L6 (in clean/blue/red)? There's no such video on youtube and I wonder how it's sounds for daily practice, with standby turned off, without cabinet. Regards and thank you for comparisons 🙌
Ha I just did this demo yesterday I’ve not uploaded yet though
can’t wait 🔥
I’ve just ordered the HT6 in white ash. Fingers crossed that it rips.
It will Ive heard good reports on them
How is the build quality compared to the older Japan made Dinky's? I've been considering ordering one of these because I loved my buddies old Dinky from the 90s but when I see Jackson using cheaper woods on some of their guitars now I'm concerned about bean counters forcing too many corners to be cut.
I think the Dinkys are great I bought these two to use they weren’t sent for demo purposes,I owned some of the old Japanese Jacksons and they were great but I’m not sure they are any better than Korean or Mexican Jacksons. It’s shame I sold my Japanese dinky as then I could compare
@@NinecoreNeil the MJ model has alder body
Dad blues guy here wanted a shred guitar bought a SoCal SanDimas and sent it back - so dark sounding on the JB bridge pickup - excellent quality guitar should of kept it I think it was a Sweetwater deal for 700 bucks or so but I hate changing pickups
Both sound great but i prefer the ash one for more biting and brightness
Very interesting! Ash sounds really great with Seymour Duncan's pickups... Both guitars sound great, but I think alder body reminds more similar sound to the MJ models
There’s more high mids in the alder body
@@NinecoreNeil for sure
The green one sounds more open, as if it has more headroom so to speak. I think probably due to the ash body, but the finish might have a slight touch on the tone, because to me it seems the pink one has so much hard coating on it. The pink one definitely has a punchier tone, reminds me of my Mexican DK2M punchy tone, though mine might be a tiny bit softer in the mids, because of its maple fretboard. It seems to me over the years that alder body guitars have like a little bit more snap to the tone especially when playing with distortion. I wonder how these guitars would compare if you tune them down quite a bit like B tuning or drop A or drop A# at least. It would be great to know more of how 6 strings sound down tuned further, because I don't wanna get into 7 string guitars.
Yeah there’s more high mids on the Neon pink the Ash is a touch more smooth
maybe replacing the floyd rose bridge with fu tone custom or sophia 2.92 pro bridge would make the tone more better and open . for locking nut , I also pick the same two companies
gonna buy one i reckon cheers maate
I’m getting another next year I reckon I want one in every tuning
@@NinecoreNeil yea that would be badass to have ready to roll when you want it. i just put a green ash DK2 on hold at the store after seeing the vid keep it up mate subbed aswell. cant wait to get it next week
@@kirbydouglas2371 let me know what you think
@@NinecoreNeil yea have it here at home mate shes brilliant , sounds amazing and super fast neck. etc cheers for the vid haha
@@kirbydouglas2371 that’s great
The pink one definitely sounds tighter and brighter. Surely because of the alder wood.
Yeah I think it has more high mids to my ears
That green ash one sounds better. Its livelier cuts through alot more and has more bottom end the Alder sounds nice as well it's got way less juice then the ash some players might prefer that though for me Green ash sounds better
And ebony has more attack than maple
I personally liked the green one. It was a little darker and beefier sounding. These sort of comparisons are always super hard, but that green one has a little something the other way lacking in.
I quite like both but they are quite different, the Pink feels more focused
Korea makes killer guitars that's for sure. I remember about 14? years ago; i bought a schecter S type guitar with a neckthrough construction, SD JB/Jazz pups and grover tuners for about 300$ used on ebay. I could not believe it; CNC design have come a long way. These days S-Korea guitars are retailing for a tad more money than it used to be. I find that the proverbial insanely good deal is into Indonesia made guitars nowadays. For instance, Harley Benton (their Indonesian model; The Vietnam ones are not quite there yet) are absolutely ridiculous as far as the price/what you get ratiot is. Contoured heel, roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets, floyd or wilkinson trem for about 300-400$. I wish those kind of deals had been there when i was a 13yrs old starting to play!
Yes I know what you mean ,lots of brands moved to Indonesia so they could put more elaborate finishes on guitars
Korean guitars used to be around the 600 -800 mark
The pink is more aggressive, the green has more low mids. Sound wise I prefer the green one but damn it if I'm not a sucker for that neon pink.
Yeah I find the Pink DK2 to be a bit more attacking in the mids
The pink one sounds more tighter
The green sounds a bit warmer
When I stripped all the paint off my slx it sounds a lot warmer less snappy if that makes any sense 🤣🤔🤟
Yes I know what you mean the pink feels more gainy and comes across darker in the room ,the green glow is more rounded like a typical JB tone
Thanks for this video! I'm glad that you brought up the fact that some people can be a "guitar snob" it shouldn't make a difference if a guitar is made in USA-Japan-China-Mexico-Korea-Indonesia-Vietnam-Germany or England! If you like the way a guitar looks, plays, sounds and feels and if it makes you want to pick it up and play it that's all that matters. Their are a lot of good quality guitars being made and you don't need to over pay just because it's a USA Gibson, USA Fender or USA PRS!
Absolutely 👏
Had a Mexican factory rocket red dinky that looked stunning - played it once and sent it back - didn't sound right. Kinda flat sounding with little to no harmonic feedback. Something about jb's direct mounted on an alder body. Similar deal with a Mexican Charvel I briefly had - same dead sound. Soloist's from Indonesia are my cup of tea 🍵!
Hmmm that’s interesting I’ve had direct mounted jb for years they seem fine maybe not everyone’s cup of tea like you say
The green one sounds better.More crunchy.I guess ash sounds that way.
Yeah I think the pink is more focused in the mids the green is smoother
I just bought 2 Jackson this week. The Adrian Smith SDX and a MIM Dinky pro. The fretwork is far far better on the SDX Indonesian guitar. Go figure. The MIM Pro is going to the shop to get the frets cleaned up.
That’s strange the Mims are usually great that’s why I like them so much
I’ve not had any problems with either but the MIMs feel a bit more solid
@@NinecoreNeil Its a good guitar just the fret edges are very sharp. They need to be rounded off. Probably the worst fret job I've seen outside of China. I have multiple Jackson Soloists from USA and Japan. From what I've seen, these imports quality and fitment is just not on par with Japan. But then the Japanese Jacksons I've owned sometimes have better quality than the USAs. I've also had Korean Neck thru BC Rich and its fretboard was leveled wrong. Impossible to fix without removing all the frets and reshaping the fretboard. So all these factories can make great guitars for the $$. However, the QC seems inconsistent. I've also worked here in SoCal for a couple guitar manufacturers. Its nearly impossible to get all the guitars to have the same QC and its usually down to the last guy to flag it or not.
@@Holtenstein the Mim factory is well known for smooth frets so I duno what’s happened there tbh
I’ve not even had any bother with any fretwork even x series
There was just one fret on my V that was slightly sprouty but it wasn’t sharp
@@NinecoreNeil Fret sprouting could be from extreme humidity changes from locations too. Especially when the woods are not fully cured. I bought a USA Jackson from Texas and it had the worst fret sprouting I've even seen on any Jackson. I've had the frets reworked but they still aren't perfect. I'm think it needs a full refret. So even if the factory dials it in, just humidity from shipping or where it is stored could effect it negatively. Still the best quality Jacksons I've owned were the MIJs
@@Holtenstein a lot of people say that too, yeah I’m very tempted by the new MIJ range
Honestly they sound exactly the same... literally no difference
