I just bought a 2023 SV for my wife in April and we love it. Have taken it on a road trip to Vermont and was getting 40 MPG at one point. We absolutely love this car.
I had 3 rogues a 2016,2021,2023 they have all been very good to me I love all the rogues I had and I’ve had no issues with any put over 150,000miles on my 16 and 50,000 on my 2021.
exactly why these sale so good. i totally understand. Car reviews forget after a stressful day of work and or kids you just wanna get in a vehicle and want everything to just work and go about your business. not always about 0-60
I went from a CX-5 lease to 2023 Rogue SV-Premium and love it. Fun to drive, nice ride and love all the soft-touch materials all over the interior. Definitely recommend it!
Been traveling recently and Everytime I choose he RAV4 on the website but they always give me a Rogue. At first I was disappointed but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was to use. Only complaint is the speedometer area is very busy to navigate around.
I got one like a month ago a 2024 Rogue with the refreshed front grille and I gotta say it’s an amazing SUV it’s comfy and very economical and very spacious it’s amazing
7:30 You only really notice at idle, put a paper bag on the passenger seat and you can tell the car is more shaky than a four banger due to having fewer bigger cylinders with more time between 'splosions. But its actually a really high tech engine with all the regular high tech stuff but also variable compression ratio which is unique. Allows it to be efficient at cruise (37mpg highway on base trim) and yet make 225ftlbs of torque at midrange on only 87 octane by reducing compression ratio instantly on the fly. They just refreshed it for 2024 tho, new front grill, gloss black instead of plastic exterior, new bumpers, new wheels, and a new bigger infotainment 13" I think.
I have driven the new Rogue, CX-5, CX-50 and CR-V hybrid. I like everything about the Rogue except the drivetrain. I still find the CVT odd and the weakness of the Rogue. I wonder how much MPG would suffer if they went with a conventional transmission. Of the four I've driven I felt the CX-5 and Rogue offered the best combination of features and drivability. Comfort goes to the Rogue. Fun goes to the CX-5. So still undecided.
First off I like your review. Second, we own a 2023 Rogue with 18k miles so far on the odometer and averaging 36 mpg. The one thing you don't mention is the headlights at night and I will tell you they are some of the best in the compact SUV segment hands down.
I rented one in New Orleans last year. Almost bought one because of how effortless it felt to drive. But I went for a GLI at the very last minute. Want to drive sedans at least for the next couple of years.
I think sedans are great, they just need to make them taller, a bit more upright seating position for a commanding view of the road, and give them a nice vertical hatch in the back for better storage. We could call them Sedan Utility Vehicles, SUV for short. @@MicahMuzio
I owned a 2018 Rogue, I liked the car except for the performance, when I drove the 2022, wow I sold my 18 and bought the 2022 Rogue SL, love it those who knock it probably never drove it. I drove the competition and I was the best bang for the buck.
Considering all of the negative things I've seen about Nissan in recent years, I'm surprised to see how thoroughly functional this car seems to be. It looks like it has all of the right things done in all of the right ways.
I think a lot of nissan's negativity stems from CVT issues they had > a decade ago. Since then they've been relatively solid. Think about how many nissans, and older nissans, you see on the road always.
People like to hold on to reputations longer than it’s justified. I honestly think the Rogue is the best vehicle in the class. It combines all the functionality and space, the right amount of tech and usability and a very nice interior that I think is only bested by the Mazda twins. There’s very little compromises and a really good balance of everything. I really think it’s the new “CR-V”, which Honda dropped the ball on big time IMO. And the new engine sounds like a baby V6 and has a decent amount of power. MotorTrend actually ranked it #1 in their big comparo test of all the compact SUVs.
My sister has one of these....loves it 👍 This will be her 2nd winter with it...she lives in the mountains they get snow often...cant remember the trim but it has AWD and its blk/blk...gets washed a lot.
Here in Europe, we don't get that engine which you, and other vloggers rate highly. We get electric power with a petrol engine range extender. Which reviewers suggest is good on paper but less so in reality.
Reliability is a hard topic to cover with authority when driving a new vehicle over the course of a week. But if we have relevant information regarding a given model's reliability we try to share it.
@@MicahMuzio thanks for the reply. i love your videos. That’s very true-perhaps you could cover the predicted reliability. cheers from ireland-your family always puts a smile on my face
Seems to be the future, many manufacturers are switching over to three cylinder turbo engines now. It makes 225ftlbs of torque from 2800rpm and up if that's the concern, certainly more beefy than most naturally aspirated four cylinders in class.
nothing inherent to a three cylinder, its more an issue with direct injection, but almost all modern engines are direct injection and will have carbon buildup issues unfortunately @@Arctic5fox
What decided it for me is that the Rogue gets 37mpg highway in FWD trim and is much more roomy. The Seltos is good in turbo trim, but gets expensive and fuel economy is quite poor. The Rogue is refreshed for '24 though, so I would pick up that over a leftover '23.
@@BoopSnoot FACTS! I was in the same position two months ago deciding on which small SUV to get, the Rogue or the Seltos? I was leaning more toward the the Seltos because It has better tech and a better Infotainment system than the Rogue, but I thought the Rouge was the better vehicle overall due to It's slightly bigger size and better MPG. All the Kia dealerships near me had $3-6k markups on their Seltos' though so that was a nope for me. I ended up going with a 23 Rougue FWD SV trim for msrp. I love It and I don't regret my decision, It's great on gas and It's fun to drive. Ironically enough though my Mom just traded her Kia Soul In for a 2024 Seltos, so I got to drive hers and IMO yes the Infotainment and fully digital gauge screen is much nicer than the Rouge's, but that's about the only positive I can find that's better than the Rouge. But my mom likes her Seltos so far just as much as I like my Rogue.
New CVT though, its not the old weak one, but a new CVT-X for '22+ models, has a more robust design. Dual oil pumps, and a chain that's beefy like the ones used in V6 applications.
Nah, CVTs have gone through several generations and gotten better over the years. They are very common and mainstream now. You do have to change the fluid every 50K miles though which is more often than "lifetime" sealed automatics. @@ontarioman6301
Nothing wrong with the new Rogue en masse per Consumer Reports. April '23 edition put Rogue in highest predicted reliability class for them, they rated it their second favorite in class behind the Subaru Forester. This is a new engine/transmission, so doesn't share problems of last gen stuff.
Sadly people judge the car when it's a brand new only. But they don't tell you what happens after 5 or 10 years when all those CVTs start failing. Nissan is notorious for bad CVTs.

I love Evie and her “technical” terms that make me smile. Plus gives me mom perspective which I love both of y’all!!!
I think Nissan should have kept the fog lights standard on the Platinum trim.
Bought one last December new. Put 13k miles. Been great. We have the platinum and its really nice! Highly recommend at least a test drive.
Looks better than any RAV4, CX5, CRV

Interesting that this and the Outlander share the platform but this doesn't have a PHEV option. A Rogue phev would still like hotcakes imo

I feel bit worried on the 3cyl engine as they are regularly very un-balanced, only time will tell if this new engine will fall apart or not.
Why is nissan still putting cvts in the rogues when so many people dont like them 😩
Because they are inexpensive to build - and they improve fuel efficiency which helps with their CAFE standards compliance.
