0:00 - Intro
-
BAD:
0:19 - Feels dated
First is the 8 in screen which seems to have very similar graphics to my old 2011 inifiniti G37
However, you get wired ACP here and that’s really what you’re going to use
Plus the upgraded 9 in screen on higher trims has newer graphics
Another weird thing in the native UI is the clicking sounds it makes - you can turn them off, but if you don’t everytime you touch the screen it sounds like a computer mouse from the 90s clicking through Windows 95
And then there’s the lack of hybrid or PHEV which we’ll talk more about in a minute
1:09 - Expensive
This car as-tested comes in at $37,420 and sure it has a few options added to it, but for that money you could get into a similarly equipped RAV4 Hybrid with better fuel economy. This rogue, as it sits, is also similarly priced to the new Honda CRV EXL, but with the options you’re paying near Sport Touring hybrid money and that’s the top spec CRV with a hybrid
1:55 - No hybrid
No matter how much money you spend on a Rogue, you will NOT get it with a hybrid or even a plug-in.
-
GOOD:
2:36 - Really spacious
We’re going to break this down into two parts the rear seats and the trunk
But yes, great space an comfort from the Rogue
3:43 - Features
Here you get the smaller 8 in screen that we already talked about, but you do get ACP and that’s really what you’re oging to use all the time anyway
You also get heated seats
Although you cant get cooled seats on any Rogue regardless of price - wack
You get a heated steering wheel here
A big pano roof that even opens up front
You get a reverse camera that’s pretty meh, but you can get a nicer 360 camera on higher trims
And then this is optioned with Nissan’s ProPilot assist which is actually quite good and I liked it in the Altima the opther week too
And then if you’re willing to spend more money you can get things like
Heated rear seats
360 camera
Wireless ACP
Fully digital cluster
4:50 - The engine
Anyway, what you have here is a 1.5T variable compression engine - that means the cylinders will change their stroke to give you more power or more efficiency, which is as simply as I can explain it without putting most people to sleep
Overall, it works really well! This thing is rated for 31 mpg combined, but just like the Altima, I’ve been out performing that this week
AND it makes a respectable 201 hp and 225 lbft - not bad for a 3 cylinder!
6:00 - Looks
I will say, this thing looks pretty good especially with the special kit we have here
6:48 - The Drive
Overall, it’s a perfectly nice experience here
The 3 cylinder gives plenty of power
And it makes a lot of fun noises like turbo swooshing to make you feel sporty
The steering is pretty numb but the front end is sharp and likes to turn
The body will then roll a bit, but it holds on if you want to drive hard
But nost people will drive it like normal humans and it’s a great comfy cushy ride
The visibility is fantastic
The cabin is quiet and isolated enough
The CVT is smooth and a non-factor most of the time
8:05 - Misc interesting things
And then I want to wrap up with some smaller interesting things that I kinda liked this week - and for a full break down of all the features check out the companion video that came out yesterday
-
9:11 - Conclusion Авто/Мото
Special thanks to our Patrons for their support of the channel! Rogue or RAV4?
Rogue. The interior and ride quality is so much better
If you plan to keep it for atleast 5yrs, then Rogue makes more sense. Sell it sooner & you will lose a lot of money on the sale.
I would never ever go electric or even hybrid. I know it will probably be inevitable one day but i will prolong it as long as i can
Me too!
A hybrid would raise the price enough where you don't actually save money.
I disagree with your price comparison. Most rogue can be bought under msrp unlike Rav4 or CRV, because there is plenty of inventory.
I went to my local Nissan stores and I tried to get even an 8% below MSRP request. Just a small request since most of their Rogue inventory is over 150 days and wow they wanted to call the cops on me lol
Nissan always offers lower interest rates and prices than Toyota and Honda. In my hometown, Toyota and Honda may charge you $500 to $1000 for a warehouse fee. Can you believe that?
Yeah true
The Rogue, in other countries, comes with a hybrid. It’ll be here.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video
Dude seriously...your focusing on the click sound in the first minute of the video??
I think it's edgy for RUclipsr's to criticize things. Hearing him complain for the first few minutes. Go watch a real vehicle reviewer like Alex on Auto's.
Wish reviews would mention telescoping pedals which are necessary for short people to not be inches away from steering wheel and air bag. Very dangerous.
Hello, does interior rear view mirror block some road view for you?
I have cylinder deactivation on my 2019Mazda GS sport hatchback on the 2.5 litre engine
It beats all other gas suvs of the same size for fuel economy. Plus it feels luxurious enough. It's got a lot of lag though. It has the power, but it's weird. Must keep the rpm within this mid range. Floor it and it goes anemic. Let off the gas a bit and it flies off. It's really odd. Plus when you want panic escape from a left turn in the middle of an intersection, you can freak out going "go! go! like now is good!". It sits there and delays darting off, and then when it darts off, it really darts off. If you drive smooth and easy, it's ok, but good grief, that lag at times...
What are u talking about ☠️
@@jjjaee What part triggered you?
@@Antiorganizer nothing lol just askin😹
@@jjjaee Ok, so what part of what I said puzzles you?
Sounds like Turbo lag
nissan engine and cvt are no problems
that was good news
i also bought a rogue which my girlfriend like very much
i am very happy to see the improvement of nissan CVT
I have put down a deposit for the chevy blazer ev 1LT here in Canada we get the $5000 rebate
My son just bought a 2023 after driving my 2018. I love mine but his is definitely cooler. The leatherette seats are great with the dog.
Nice!
Our 2023 broke down going 70 miles an hour. They knew about the defaulting a settled class settlement! But did not tell us.
Some of us retirees really don't care about a hybrid hybrid
Nissan can go as far 40mpg on highway so is close or comparable to a hybrid. Just do the compare with competition same class. I own it and the rogue is beyond over to competitors in different areas.
Yes, I agree. I have a 2021 SV+ in this same styling (but cream/off-white colored) and she gets 38mpg on a mix of straight and mountain roads (uphill and down). Around the city, it is about 19-20. I really love my Rogue! There are 2 things to look out for; 1. I had a faulty battery on purchase. Lasted about a year, but on these CVT vehicles... the battery runs EVERYTHING. Yup, runs the transmission. Replaced battery under warranty - perfect! 2nd. If you have a Rogue with roof rails and you experience some leaking at the top of the pillars of each side interior of the driver & passenger doors, there is a faulty plug under where the rails were attached and water will seep down a bit. This is covered as a known issue and was repaired for free.
I have a brand new 2023 Rogue and notice a very small air leak sound on both the driver and passenger side. I wonder if this is the cause.
Interesting, have no idea what that could be? Wonder if anyone else hears this air on their 2023? With a 2023, they have probably taken care of the roof rail leak by now. It was a bulletin. @@doloresaugust5790
Come on you want more you pay more ! Nothing more ! This SV midnight edition is good enough compared with its price
Nissan will release a Nissan Rogue Hybrid they have released Nissan X trail hybrid in other markets
Not offering a hybrid is brilliant. This engine is amazing and gets almost 30 mpg city. Why offer a hybrid when it is only going to cost more in maintenance.
Screw hybrids and anything remotely electric.
Old ones
Its 2023, join us. Toyotas hybrid system is brilliant - there's a reason Rav4s have waiting lists and Rogues dont.
Can't get a hybrid from Honda or Toyota, 2 year waiting list.
it is insane right now
My car was not that expensive! My seats front and back are very comfortable! I average 32 miles per gallon
Isn't having a hybrid cost more in fueling and charging .
Nissan is more sufficient my 2016 gives me 39 per gallon
You just driving downhill? Parents have 15 rogue witth the same 2.5 and cvt and it gets maybe 25 mpg combined - and you don't charge a hybrid. Between the motor and regenerative braking the battery doesnt get plugged in and charged.
Better is not always better please get rid of splash guard over oil pan and filter i have a 2019 rogue with no splash guard oil changes not a problem 😫😂😢😢
I would spend more money on a 4 cylinder engine and a 6 speed transmission . The Rav 4 has both ????? For less money is a no brainer!!!!!
this dude is a little ZESTY
Nit picking !
Why did Nissan put this splash guard over oil pan and filter with 18 plastic clips and 2 bolts plastic clips won't last long also more labor cost 🤣☹️☹️😂
i would owny buy honda or toyota less brake downs
No body wants a F'ing hybrid. stop wishing it was in a Rogue!
🤣
Nissan cvts fail prematurely 😂 they fail often
Your info is very dated. Its no longer true, particularly for late model Altimas and Rogues.
