I think Nissan has swung a huge hit with their upgrades in interiors. But unfortunately, that VC-T 3cyl engine is having serious issues, and the JATCO CVT isn't as refined nor as reliable as the Honda unit. And the CRV does look better and will age more gracefully.
Honda FTW...
The investigation started with ONLY 10 reports... and the CVT is refined & reliable. New gen altima which uses this CVT with a different tune has GREAT transmission reliability with Consumer reports.
@@bentleysteven-leedolzadell6466Yep, and the CVT uses a chain and is equipped with 2 oil pumps for cooling and lubrication, the earlier ones failed cuz it used a weak belt…
The problem with Honda North America is they're releasing washed down versions of Honda's. Look at the CRV's from overseas , they are packed with way more features.
They still have the RDX to sell in the North America. Not the case overseas.
I would like to know the price of those cars
If these two, Rogue would be my choice.
1. Better outlook especially the sideview, "small" SUV has "big" car feeling.
2. Better tech. features.
3. Better dashboard and upholstery materials.
4. Better ride quality especially lower dB when riding.
While Nissan does not have good resell value because of inadequate and poor marketing back in 1980s, besides its last generation of CVT ruined its brand image.
The only concern today is the reliability and durability of its VC turbo engine. Let's wait and see more before buy.
5. Nissan fails in reliability which is the most important factor
@@soga77 You are a typical brainless and blindness keyboard warrior.
My last Nissan P11 served me more than 16 years without issue, only worn out parts required to be replaced.
My 2021 Rogue SL is still smooth as new now at 42.5K miles. And yes, Rogue interior and functionality are way better than CRV.
Dual view camera with 360 and pano moonroof are a game changer. It's 2024 now and Honda can't implement those 2 simple things?
For door handle, I personally prefer those with physical button to press instead of the haptic feedback or sensor whatever. It gives me solid assurance that the car will do what I tell it to do. My BMW X1 has that non-button touch door handle and it's finnicky. Sometimes it registers the touch, sometimes it lags, sometimes it just doesn't do anything and I have to touch it again to function.
Not sure on the CRV, but my 2020 Civic Sport didn't have the ability to lock the doors with engine running. Real bummer.
Rouge just checks all the boxes on functionality and looks for me.
On the rear end looks, I hate that lights on CRV that look like Volvo. Whatever their philosophy is, can they not come up with a different look?
But the front end looks better than the Rogue imo.
On fuel economy, let's use a 12K miles/year scenario and regular gas price of $4/gal (around DC MD VA area).
Rogue will consume 387.10 gals at 31 mpg average = $1,548.38/year.
CRV takes 324.32 gals at 37 mpg average = $1,297.30/year.
Difference is $251.09/year or $21/month extra expenses for Rogue.
Is it a significant difference?
Excellent comparison as always!
Side note: Platinums are built in Japan
All Nissan's that start's with a Vin number JN# are built in Japan
Platinums or sl ?
Thanks guys for another great video! really happy with my Honda!
A little late but, CONGRATZ ON 500K!!! 500K more for 1M!! Proud long time subscriber
Thanks so much!!
I still would choose the CRV over the Rogue.
Me too, except Rogue can be had with similar equipment for 4-5k less...
Easily! Better resale and reliability though Honda has went downhill as of lately I feel!
Wonderful video!!! Car Confections, can you guys please review a 24 VW Tiguan Sel R-line? 💛🙃
We owned two Rogue SL AWD's (2015 & 18). Excellent cars, lots of great features but the 2018 had more safety features. We recently changed to a 2023 Outlander PHEV SEL (love it). Not sure would buy a newer Rogue with the problems owners have had with the VC 3 cylinder turbo
Idk why they chose keep avoiding a hybrid car.
I had to move away from the 1.5 turbo my old SI and purchased a CRV. Honda resale value is real.
Went with the 2024 CRV Hybrid Sport L. Love it!
In my opinion this is the best looking CR-V to date. Both use CVT transmissions, and Honda has had very few issues with their CVT according to consumer reports. the CR-V hybrid uses a 2.0 non turbo engine that is very reliable. Nissan uses a 1.5 turbo 3 cylinder. My money is on the CR-V, no contest.
Honda had a lot issues when they transitioned to CVT transmissions with horrible vibrations and took months for fixes. A lot of cars are going CVT now. Its like buying a Sony over a Samsung...Sony because of the name =more $$$. And guess what? They'll both get me from point A to point B. But one will cost less.
Not sure on 2024, but my 2023 Rogue SL has a proximity function with auto-unlock upon approach. That makes having a sensor behind the door handle sort of a moot point IMHO. Great comparison vid…!!!
CR-V would be my choice!
I’m disappointed at how high Honda raised the prices of the CR-V for basically the same features compared to the competition
This is the perfect comparison for me because these are the two cars I’m looking at! I like the CRV but it’s so hard to beat the rogue camera. I don’t understand why more cars don’t offer that.
I'm in the same boat as you.. im a bit reluctant to pay that extra money on CRV or RAV4.. i like the rogue but I'm looking to run Uber etc, so maybe a Toyota or Honda might be better I'm not sure
Great job including 5 year depreciation differences which can be substantial.
Great comparison of these 2 great options. I lease both. How do they rank when you use a lease option and resale does not really matter? Thanks
Another thing yall can also add is how much the median car's price is discounted/marked up. Great Review
The Rogue comes In with approach unlock and walkaway lock feature. Just enough to have the key in your pocket. So actually it doesn't require to press the button at the door handle to unlock . So can give a 0.5 point there
My Honda crv 2023 model has that feature.
for a base model i'd go with honda. for maxed out model, i'd go with Rogue. Platinums are built in japan, better quality and the interior is way more luxurious feeling than the CRV.
Crv for cargo space Nissan rogue for luxury
I may get into a hybrid CR-V in the future, but I can't imagine cross-shopping the Rogue. This is a great review, though, because the improvements in the Rogue may mean corresponding improvements in Infiniti models. In case, I shop up-market from Honda's models.
The rogue is so much more feature packed than the Honda. Especially the 2024 models with Google built in. One thing not shown is that maps now display in the dash display too. Incredible tech which Honda lacks
One thing to consider it's way more easier to negotiate on a Nissan Rogue. For example a 2024 Platinum edition in New England area, a dealership offered me $5300 off of MSRP. I'm pretty sure another dealership would beat that to at least $5500-$6000 off MSRP. I never negotiated a Honda but I can bet you they will not knock that much off MSRP. So take this into consideration yes Rogue a bit more $ however if you play it smart and be aggressive negotiating you will be under a CRV in price and that will help with the depricaition in the future
Our X-Trails equipped with touch sensor door handles (and touch sensing part for locking the door instead button). So the X-Trail does not have that disadvantage. Nappa leather seats are way more comfortable and big panaramic sun roof
The sound is a little different, its more solid on CRV than Rogue imo. I would still go for Honda for safety and reliability + quiteness and fuel efficiency.
Just bought a rogue hope it treats us good! If not ill trade it in for a honda or toyota
I'm curious about the Rogue e-Power which may come to North America.
The point scale for pricing needs to be reconsidered, because value should be taken into account. Yes the Rogue costs more fully loaded, but it also has way more features... honestly you would think the price gap is bigger. So overall the Rogue is a much better value especially considering you could get the SL and still have a considerable amount more features at a cheaper price. And these are features that impact daily use, not just gimmicks. Honda made major cost cuts with this gen CR-V, dropping features while jacking up the price.
Great comparison, I will go for the rogue, better equipment and better looking
Thanks!
Excellent analysis of these two vehicles.
Have you heard any status on the new Chevrolet Equinox EV? It seems to be delayed.
Thanks!
Thanks! We are heading to review one very soon so we will update on expected production when Chevy tells us then
@@CarConfections Thank you! Looking forward to it.
I’d like to see you compare the CRV Sport Touring against the Tucson Hybrid Limited.
I'm waiting for e-power version. So no cvt, 7.0 s 0-100km/h (much faster than this one), the interior is identic with this one in video except the gearshift lever but the exterior is the pre-facelift, which is better. Because no so much chrome on front grill and no piano black on the wheel arches.
The Rogue is a real looker! Based on design alone, I would go Rogue all day every day. However, I can't help but worry about long-term reliability with both their CVT transmissions and the new tech in their tiny 3-cylinder engines.
PS - Despite not being sports cars, I still wish you would add 0-60 time comparisons in these reviews.
You know all transmissions pils have to change in every car despite it being a CVT or A/T ..
Nissan Rogue vs Mazda CX5
Rogue ❤
I got Nissan rogue platinum 2021 and now a honda CRV ex l and CRV is mucho better , better dinamics , the only thing I miss a little is the 360 camera ,other than that day and night
If you got a 3 Cylinder rogue you wouldnt be saying what you are
@@bentleysteven-leedolzadell6466 🤣🤣🤣
@bentleysteven-leedolzadell6466 the three cylinder rogue drive better than CRV 2024 m
My Nissan Rogue Platinum 2024 is good
The Nissan Rogue all the way
Well no honda dealership will sell you the MSRP price that you showed. It's always atleast 4k markup price hidden in miscellaneous fees.
The CRV all day!!!
40k for these compact Japanese suvs is crazy to me.
These things should be no more Than 35k max
CRV as its hybrid
The fact that CRV took away the lever in the cargo space to drop the seats and Rogue did not should be a point for Rogue.
Would get a Honda
I would pick the Nissan rogue
I was gonna be so mad if you used the Sport-L CR-V cause than it would be fully loaded rogue vs not fully loaded CR-V
The Honda is more reliable and looks better imo
The platinum Rogue is built in Japan. Reliability is most definitely not less than the CRV 😂
@@kobbycrentsil2859My mom has a 2022 Rogue SL, just follow the maintenance schedule properly and you’ll be fine
@@kobbycrentsil2859Nissan still using those pos Jatco cvt’s prone to failure!
Did they improve their cvt? Q
@@yappering Yea, it uses a chain that’s stronger than the weak belt that caused them to fail before
Ideally HONDA CRV Non-Hybrid compared here with Rogue 2024, not CRV Hybrid.
That low center console arm rest is a no.
Honda can never drive as good as a Nissan . But you are going to hear Honda drivers talk different like usual.
Bought a CRV touring hybrid! Won’t even touch the Rogue let alone any Nissan!
The Honda CR V is definitely better than the Nissan Rogue and the Toyota RAV4 in my opinion
Of cource, very esay choice. Honda CR-V because it is hybrid. Better realiabitity, more space.
I got the 2024 Rogue SL with premium loaded package! absolutely loving my beast!
The CR-V is my favorite.
The Nissan Rogue and Mitsubishi should be compared
Mitsubishi Outlander
The real winner, a 2014 CRV with 100k miles for 15k lol
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
$43,000 for a compact suv?!! 😂 No thanks!! I'll go buy a 5 year old Tahoe for that price!!
Nissan best
I can't believe there is someone who would buy nissan over honda for same price , i had Nissans like rogue , altima , sentra , maxima most of them poor quality interior, poor reliability like cvt and 1.5l 3 cylinder engine that causes problems before 100k .
This was designed to fail the Rogue with the reliability and resale stuff.
The CRV should your pick because Honda engineering is much better than Nissan
Honda crv
Honda here copy cat volvo on back design🤣
Rogue
If i have money i would buy RAV4
No tension regarding reliability and no worries about resale value
Wait for 24months in Australia 😮
I like the rogue more.
The honda is far better no comparism
I would never buy another Nissan product ever again
Well dont .. Nobody cares to hear about it
I know two people that has Rogues now and they say they are garbage and they are moving away from them.. Terrible transmissions and trash 3 cylinder engines..
@@TinoMillerdefensive much???? This clearly got you going 😂. You need to be reminded this a public forum to share any opinions an individual may have regarding the content.
@@JayZJay7it doesn’t.. Its why you come here to say that when nobody cares .. Don’t you have something better to do than to voice your bias aspect ?? If you hate them go to your dealers and tell them ..
@@charlesjackson1700 trust me its probably because they aren’t use to driving a CVT pr a 3 cylinder.. The Accord and CRV are worst .. Also know the fact that they were expecting more power ?! Its a 3 cylinder and its not a SRT sUv .. They could always get a Pathfinder or some other brand ..
They can get a GM or Ford .. Lol
Nissan has really impressed me with the Rogue. I'll get this over the CRV for my wife.
Rogue looks better. CRV has always been unattractive
Rogue is way comfy than others.
🥱
I’d go for the Kia Sportage HEV. Better looking, better price, better MPG, better warranty, better engine etc etc.
🤡
Nissan and the absolute pos variable compression engine.... All that tech to save 1 MPG. Lol all it does is destroy the engine
more like 5-10 & gives it a lot more pep than it has had
elves
CVT is the worst invention in the motor industry
Nissan should only be compared to Hyundai or Kia . They’re similar brands in terms of relaibility issues and depreciating.
Honda should be compared to Mazda and Toyota only .
The 3 banger will not make it to 75,000. Nissan junk.
Hmmmm how bout no to both these cars!!!!??? Ain’t no hot gurl like me gonna rest these phat cakes in no Honda or Nissan!!! It’s time to step it up boo boo!!!! These yams are straight diamonds and deserve the best of the best of the best!!!!!
Honda 👍😍🚘💪
Honda interior stingy and outdated compared with the Nissan Rogue 🤣👍
Rogue
