It’s on our bucket list to update ours with a newer one. Its been 3 years and we kept ours up a lot during the summer, so it’s time for replace it. It’s snowing here today. If you happen to think about, let us know how your new one works out when you get it setup 😄
@@EricCosner sure will. We’re planning our first trip first of June. Still got to get our air mattresses and few things. Excited to get our three boys out there! I’m going to treat the tent with a water repellent too.
I bought this tent for the same reasons you did, plus I got the Ravpower pack, It survived a monsoon thunderstorm dry as a bone. The lights are an added cool bonus. Only problem I had is 1 of the poles was put on backwards had to take off and reinstall it. But your review sold me the tent😁😁💯
Thanks for the excellent feedback! We have kept ours up for two summers now and it seems to be holding up. Glad to hear you were able to reverse the pole. I’ve been meaning to do a follow up video, and hopefully include how to take it down because I think part is actually more challenging. Thanks again! 😄
I just got back from a 5 day trip with this tent. It endured wind and 2 thunderstorms and stayed dry. the zippers are very good quality. you can place your sleeping bags in the back and there's enough room for 2 folding recliners up front. Setting it up was simple as can be...15 minutes. folding it back up wasn't bad. It was cold and the material was damp, but when i got home the tent had dried out and the nylon warmed up so i got the rest of the tent in the bag. Its a big quality tent for $200 bucks and its worth it. also be sure and set it up in the shade, we had a campsite with no shade and late afternoons were sweltering. It doesnt bloch out much sun. The instructions and video don't really show it but it comes with battery pack for the LED's.
Going camping this weekend and thanks to your video I'm on my way to Walmart to upgrade from my older Ozark trail tent to this one. Thanks for this very helpful video.
No problem! We got ours from Walmart as well. The smaller tent my wife had her eyes on was sold out so we really lucked out! 😄 never imagined this video would do so well. It’s a great tent. Thank you!
I bought this tent 3 yrs ago and I set up and take it down all by myself. I love mine!! It is heavy to carry tho. Haven't had any issues with it, the only thing is I was wondering if I need to spray it with waterproofing to help keep it in shape for future use. I always put tarp down on ground first before set up! I have even set up a small window unit AC on the outside and it worked great.
I think it can help. I actually did the same thing, but never applied it. I bought a can of Scotchgard spray. I believe it was called, but we never got around to it and we kept the 10 up for three summers. Eventually, the material did start to degrade a bit, but I think it was mostly from sunlight and we’ve since replaced it with a core 9 person cabin tent, which we also did a video on. Thanks for the question!
Im thinking about getting the 8 person version for me my wife and two boys ages 11 & 13. A queen and a full size blow up mattress should be just fine for us. I Iove the tablet area it looks perfect for watching amovie.
Yep I learned when I got a new tent to set it up before I left to go camping. That way you can dispose of all the lovely cardboard and tape. I also like the way the new tent bags expand. I have the six person instant tent and my daughter had the 10 person. Considering I am 64, I would never had anything else but an instant tent. I used a power pack for my lights since my battery holder would not work. ERIC do you spray your tent down with water repellant before you use it.
@@kariowens4380 it is a battery pack either charged by your house current, or riding down the road with a 12 volt car charger or a solar panel . Jackery makes small ones to large ones . Bluetti is another brand .
I just bought this tent today and decided to look for a video showing the set up to see if it was really as simple as the description. This video answered my question, very thorough. I will be using it this weekend and didn’t want any surprises. Does anyone know how long the 4 D batteries last in the battery pack?
We bought ours today thanks to your review and have it up in our backyard to test the setup and to inspect it. We love how open it is and the setup was a breeze. We are taking it camping for a few days in the the coming week. The only thing that has me a little disappointed is that ours did NOT come with the storage pockets you attached to the walls or the iPad holders. I’m trying to find them online.
We took ours back. The material is super thin, you can't close in the top, At night you can see what's happening inside the tent. Bought the darkrest tent and we love it
We have (had) this tent up until this morning when my maniac black lab chewed up the the main entrance and bottom left side. Loved every night we had spent in it over the past several years. Sold me on just getting the new model since it's usb powered now and also still has the 4 D battery option.
Oh no! We’ve had a couple labs and they love to chew up everything. That’s the worst! Seems like the LEDS don’t pull that much. We’ve camped out 4 times so far and the battery is still charged. Best of the luck with the new tent and keeping the lab away from it. Haha
My daughter and I are night owl campers. We'd love an led light tent. I'd pay extra for it, for sure. Also, I feel you on putting the rain fly on by yourself. Lol. It's hard.
The rain fly is the worst! Sure it only takes two minutes to setup the tent, but the rainfly, that's more like ten minutes..lol We've have found it's easier if you attach a clip at one corner and then slowly pull it across alternating each side, if that makes sense. One person can do it, but two definitely helps! 😊
Good review. I was going to try the version almost the same as this by CORE. They have a LED tent that is extremely similar. Problem is that they don’t ship to Canada and I don’t like buying important things from eBay. I think I will give this a try as a second choice. I think American customers might want to compare with CORE before they buy but this seems good.
Thanks for this awesome video! We just bought this tent and loved it. The only confusion is when we try to set up the divider, we saw one clip on each side of the divider but has nothing to clip on. basically two unused clips on the divider and we can't figure out what it is supposed to use for?
I've had this tent for 3 years and love it. the only complaint I have is , that when it rains the rain fly doesn't cover the two large windows, and water collects in bottom of the window, and puddles in the tent. .
Tried it in the rain yet? And - What's up with the sun glasses at night????? Tip, add a long paracord to the rain fly with a small weight or a big knot, makes putting the fly on much easier. I'm only 5'6" and 73 with a bad shoulder. Works great. Thanks for the review.
That’s actually where we got ours. It was completely by accident, too. My wife wanted another one I wasn’t fond of,and it was out of stock lol. We leave ours up in our backyard and it’s doing well. Second year for us. Glad you like it!
I LOVE this tent, and I am so sad that it’s not being made any longer. The similar tents just can’t compete. I wonder why they stopped making it. ETA: I think I found one at a local WalMart. Woohoo! Going to check it out today. *fingers crossed
It believe you can still find it at Walmart. We saw one the other day, at our local Walmart. It may be a slightly different color now. We love the tent, but after leaving it setup for 3 years, we're going to replace it with the CORE 9 person LED, but we haven't unboxed it yet. 😊
@@EricCosner Thanks! I think I'm going to try to the Core 10 person LED. The door is just in a better place than on the OT. Both seem to be great tents! I hope you enjoy the Core as much as you did the OT.
Nice review, would two queen air mattresses fit on the one side of the room, the side with the D shaped door? I’m thinking it they would we could use the other side with the T shaped door as a screen room
We also have this tent and love it. Used it the first time this past weekend. One question on your battery pack. Does the battery pack you used automatically shut off after a while I of not being used? Mine does, so when I went to turn on the lights I had to remove the pack, power it back on, then press the power button. After realizing this I just put in the four D batteries so I wouldn't have to do that. Great review...thanks!
Yes we have the same issue with the battery pack. The way I have my battery inserted, I am able to push the battery button without removing it entirely. The button is facing down and closest to the velcro opening. It's still a bit of an annoyance, especially if it's dark. It causes the LEDs to blink momentarily and then you can press the larger button to turn on the lights. Thanks!
Thanks for your reply! I was wondering which ravpower pack I should purchase. Ravpower makes so many and they all seem to be approximately the same size. I could not access your link for that information so I thought you might know. I'm leaning toward the 28k+ milliamp version for duration. Should I speak with an Ozark Trail representative or Ravpower or both?
Thanks for asking! The one the link goes to is listed as "Portable Charger RAVPower 26800mAh 30W PD USB-C". The model is RP-PB058. I like this particular one because it has usb-c, so I can use my laptop charger to quick charge it (~ 2 or 3 hours) and it can even give power to my laptop and extend its use. It does take a long time to charge with the usb-micro (~10 hours) It has usb-micro (charging only), usb-c (30 watt) (charge or power), and two usb (2.4 amp) (power only). I bought it because it was the largest battery I was allowed to take on an airplane (99.16 watt hour). I've had two of them for over a year now and they are still holding up. I actually bought it before the tent, but found it worked great since the tent itself has a USB plug 😊
Great video🎉 thanks does this tent not come with the Ac unit spot? Looks so spacious can’t wait till mine is delivered today and it pops up wooo hooo😂🎊 just what the doc ordered😂 cool tent
Hello! It doesn't have a dedicated place for an A/C, however you might be able to use the alternate door, or one of the vents potentially to move in cooler air! Regardless, it's still an awesome tent! Enjoy!! 😊
❤thank you so much. I just saw this in walmart and was like - wow! I should get it for when I camp with me and me grands alone. (I’m the only adult. Your video convinced me! Question…where in the description is the link to order???

Thank you and happy camping!! 😊 goto.walmart.com/JrXWrq
Have you noticed any leaking during rain at all? We live in an area with unpredictable weather so that is important to us! Also, where were you camping?
Some of the one-star reviews on Walmart were worrying me a little bit but I think this review might have convinced me. Not sure if you'll see this but it's it still holding up well for you all?
Sorry I missed your comment from before. We just put up the tent for the first time this year. We had it up all last summer and after a quick wash it still looks like new. Some have complained that the material isn’t thick enough, but it seems fine to me. We did had a minor tear due to a branch falling on it.
Hi! Love your video. In the comments you mentioned doing a follow up to let us know if you still like it …and more importantly how to you get it back in the bag!?? No one seems to show that part….I’m assuming because it’s difficult due to its size & the poles being attached. Love to know, since I’m a solo female who would be doing this. Thinking of buying one, but worried about the dismantling. So your expertise would be very much appreciated!!
Hello! Thank you for the feedback! So this is sort of the one caveat about the tent. It pops up quickly, but tearing it down can be a little cumbersome. You basically have to just reverse the steps. For example, remove the rain fly, and unzip the windows and doors a little. Unzipping the windows will allow the air to get out of it easier. After that, shorten each of the 6 posts by pressing the button on each. Remove all the stakes. Once it's down, then you have to fold it up. It's hard to explain, but everything folds inwards sort of like a V shape. The corners are different than the sides. I believe the corners fold inward twice. At this point, you squeeze all the air out of it so that it will fit inside the bag. Sometimes we roll it on the ground and that helps, but getting all the air out is tricky sometimes. Hopefully that helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know! Thanks for the ask!
Thank you!! I very much appreciate your comment! This video was shot with my Canon 6D Mark ii and a 16-35mm f2.8 lens with a variable ND. I've since upgraded my camera body to the Canon R5. I use Adobe Premiere for editing. Typically, I shoot in neutral color with contrast and sharpening turned down, and then in post I add contrast, sharpening and punch up the colors. I actually have a playlist where I've done some camera stuff. Thanks for asking! Camera Tutorials playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLyFLkopyIkjUj-Qr4xgD3iyIEpY1o5f6i
Im glad you posted a video about this tent! I just bought it and have been debating it because i really wanted the screen room to be a enclosed eating area for my young kids, and still have a closed off room to sleep in. Do you think 2 queen or full air beds will take up the entire tent? Or that they could possibly be contained to the less open side?
I think 2 queen beds might be difficult to fit on the less open side. If they do fit, I think they will push up against the sides as the walls slant inwards. Two queen beds side by side are 10 feet and the tent is 14' x 10'. Going with full size might be preferable for that configuration as two full size would take up 9 feet. For reference, the beds we had in the review were full size.
yshalit1 oh no!! Where did it break? Is it the part that extends or just one of the arms? If it’s one of the arms, it may be possible to encapsulate it inside of a pipe you could find at a hardware store. Perhaps electrical tape or duct tape. Sorry to hear this! 😩
@@EricCosner Thanks for your response The part that broke is one of the arms Do you know what is the diameter of these arms?, we will probably try to replace with another arm, this is the only option
yshalit1 they look to be about 5/8” in diameter above the orange latching mechanism all the way to the top. The part below the latch is 3/4” in diameter.
I had a tent like that but with a solar charger for the lights I wish I still had it but after a year traveling around Australia but got all ruined. I lived in it for a year. In the Australian outback. Min I wish I could get another one. But the don't make them anymore
I wonder if there is a way you could add on solar. This tent just uses a standard USB port. The battery pack I use with it lasts all summer so I imagine solar would work. I’m going to check into it. We leave the tent up for 3 months here at the house.
Do you remember the dimensions of the mattresses you were sleeping on I'm trying to find a tent that will fit 2 6f long 5 foot wide blow up mattresses and have at least 3 ft of walking room between them
Hello, Rafael! We originally found it at Walmart. It's usually hit or miss on availability. From the link in the description of this video you may be able to find it on Amazon, depending on your location. It seems like they changed the colors a bit since I did this review.
It’s translucent. There are 3 brightness levels. If you were near a wall, they might see a shadow, but with the windows closed and the lights on you still have some privacy. We put the lights on low when the kids are watching movies and then we turn them off at bed time. Thanks for the comment!
Eric, how difficult is it to get it all folded back up and put back in the bag? I just bought one today and will set it up tomorrow for the first test. I am almost 65 and this tent looks like the only one that a single person can handle without helpers.
Hello Laura-Ann! It’s slightly more difficult to get it folded back up and put back in the included bag. The main problem I experienced was just trying to get all the air out of it. It came with the windows slightly unzipped so I always unzip them slightly (about 10%) before taking it down. This might help with the air. I actually had to lay on the tent to squeeze the air from it after folding it up. Aside from that it’s not too bad.
@@EricCosner - I've now had my tent for about 1 year and have used it on 6 camping trips. I've developed routines for how to set it up, how to take it down and fold it back up, and how to get it back in the bag. I've found that it's actually pretty easy to get it back in the bag if you have a picnic table at hand (most US Forest Service and State and National Park campgrounds provide picnic tables at each campsite). I unzip the bag and spread it open on the end of the picnic table, then lay the "sausage" - the bundled up tent - on the bag. Starting at one end, I work the bag up and over the end of the tent, then alternating between lying on the tent to squeeze more air out, I work the other end of the tent into the bag, and then the sides. I've found that the bag does in fact have enough capacity to hold the tent, the rainfly, the partition divider, and even a 12' x 16' footprint tarp. So far, the tent seems to be remarkably well made for having come from Wal-Mart; none of the zippers have failed, the there are no seams coming apart. Of course, I have not yet experienced a strong wind storm in the tent - that would really expose any weakness in the design or construction.
theres a 3 rooms version of this tent but, i don't think it has LED lighting? i'd like to see it cause i think i could add the LED lights with stick'em strip LED?

I just ordered this cause it's the only one with doors on each room and like you said it's open like a porch. It cost a bit more than others like it but biggest windows too. I want to look out and see trees and birds when I wake up.
dude, I was planning to do it and I searched for Coleman 10 person tent. I found yours. I am going to buy it from your link! thanks a for! Its an awesome product!!
Rafael Ferrer thank you so much! We are actually camping in the tent tonight in the same spot we filmed this video. We had some friends come in for Labor Day! We love the tent. It’s basically been set up all summer and it hold up well. 😊 appreciate it!!
I just picked up the newer blue version of this tent. Planning to set it up when the weather improves.
Love this tent! Fits perfect for my family. Easy set up and take down!
Thank you so much for making this video and showing how much room it has with the air mattresses in there 😃
Thanks for watching! We haven't taken the tent down since we put it up in our backyard! It's incredible! 😊
Going camping this weekend and thanks to your video I'm on my way to Walmart to upgrade from my older Ozark trail tent to this one. Thanks for this very helpful video.
Thanks again.
No problem! We got ours from Walmart as well. The smaller tent my wife had her eyes on was sold out so we really lucked out! 😄 never imagined this video would do so well. It’s a great tent. Thank you!
Ok this review sold me on this tent! Thanks!!
Absolutely love it!! I'm searching for one right now
I bought this tent 3 yrs ago and I set up and take it down all by myself.
@@EricCosner Thank you for your input!
Awesome tent ! We just got one yesterday. Planning to go camping next weekend in South Florida ! Will share more details. Thank you buddy!
Awesome! Have a great trip! Let us know how it goes!
I just got this tent for me and my kids it looks great just from the video
Well I'll be going to get one now. Thanks for the post.
Awesome! Thank you!
What’s a power pack ?
@@kariowens4380 it is a battery pack either charged by your house current, or riding down the road with a 12 volt car charger or a solar panel . Jackery makes small ones to large ones . Bluetti is another brand .
Thanks Eric! This is what I needed to know about the charger pack. ❤ ya
I just bought this tent today and decided to look for a video showing the set up to see if it was really as simple as the description. This video answered my question, very thorough. I will be using it this weekend and didn’t want any surprises. Does anyone know how long the 4 D batteries last in the battery pack?
I am sold once you showed the rain cover!
Just want to thank you. I purchased the 8 person because it also came with the Bluetooth speaker.
I am a lone camper with a dog. Can I really set this up alone?
I am 5'-8, and I found it very easy to setup by myself, just be sure to loosely lay the rain fly on top of it before extending the polls.
@@sueannehagemann7027, it’ll take a little work but I believe you could accomplish it alone.
Great video 👌 great tent👌 great review 👌
Loved your step by step video...is there no covering for the top?
We took ours back. The material is super thin, you can't close in the top, At night you can see what's happening inside the tent. Bought the darkrest tent and we love it
It's really nice, I need one. Think I will buy it. Thanks for the great video
Just bought one based on your video. Cant wait.
Install the rainfall when the tent is collapsed and just leave it on when you put the tent away
When you throw the rain fly on by yourself maybe lower one half of the tent?
I like the tent... just made my top 3 to buy
Darn!!! I love this tent BUT I want a hinged door😫 if the little door would do that it would be perfect!!
I've had this tent for 3 years and love it. the only complaint I have is , that when it rains the rain fly doesn't cover the two large windows, and water collects in bottom of the window, and puddles in the tent. .
I just picked up the 6 person, I dig it led is cool too
Tried it in the rain yet? And - What's up with the sun glasses at night????? Tip, add a long paracord to the rain fly with a small weight or a big knot, makes putting the fly on much easier. I'm only 5'6" and 73 with a bad shoulder. Works great. Thanks for the review.
I just ordered this tent, hope it works out or my husband is never going to let me forget it. Lol
I have this same tent and I love it
Awesome, thanks for this video! I just purchased this model from Walmart 👍🏼👍🏼
That’s actually where we got ours. It was completely by accident, too. My wife wanted another one I wasn’t fond of,and it was out of stock lol. We leave ours up in our backyard and it’s doing well. Second year for us. Glad you like it!
awesome looking tent! Thanks for the showing.
I have the same one it’s awesome 👍🥇🏆
damn i love that it’s big and not squeezing
Haha same!
would it be possible to include how to put away the tent? it looks great, but closing it looks like itll be tough.
Nice review, would two queen air mattresses fit on the one side of the room, the side with the D shaped door? I’m thinking it they would we could use the other side with the T shaped door as a screen room
Very cool tent! I love it! 😊💕
Thanks!
Great review!
Thanks for the video.
I have the same and I loved...
I had issues with it collapsing top corners fr wind , so used a half a spool of electrical tape on poles n hinges to stop the collapsing
Kewl lighting
Hello, Mona! Thank you for reminding me that we didn't have the link in the description. The tent they are carrying right now has been modified some since we filmed this, however I think it's similar in most ways. Below is a link for convenience, and I will update the description! Thank you and happy camping!! 😊

Great video!
Does it get cold inside 😮 at night from opening on top.
@@EricCosner thank you very much for the reply, I do appreciate it.
Love this tent!!!
Where did you buy your tent at ... From what store did you get your tent at
That’s great! You don’t need to buy a lantern since your camping tent have a light built in.
Your camera setup is incredible. Everything looks so crisp and sharp. Would you mind sharing your equipment and any post processing?
Camera Tutorials playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLyFLkopyIkjUj-Qr4xgD3iyIEpY1o5f6i
looks so awesome
@@EricCosner thank you so much for your reply! That is very helpful to know. I cant wait to take the tent out and explore our state parks!
We really like the tent, but one of the poles in the tent broke, is there a way to fix it? And if so how?
yshalit1 oh no!! Where did it break? Is it the part that extends or just one of the arms? If it’s one of the arms, it may be possible to encapsulate it inside of a pipe you could find at a hardware store. Perhaps electrical tape or duct tape. Sorry to hear this! 😩
@@EricCosner Thanks for your response
The part that broke is one of the arms
Do you know what is the diameter of these arms?, we will probably try to replace with another arm, this is the only option
yshalit1 they look to be about 5/8” in diameter above the orange latching mechanism all the way to the top. The part below the latch is 3/4” in diameter.
Great video. Thanks.
Do HAVE the sku # I want one..where did you get your tent
i think the tent is worth it eric!!
Do you remember the dimensions of the mattresses you were sleeping on I'm trying to find a tent that will fit 2 6f long 5 foot wide blow up mattresses and have at least 3 ft of walking room between them
Sric, Thank you for the show & tell. I like that Tent. Where did you buy it?
Hello, Rafael! We originally found it at Walmart. It's usually hit or miss on availability. From the link in the description of this video you may be able to find it on Amazon, depending on your location. It seems like they changed the colors a bit since I did this review.
Thank You so much. I'll check both places.
I have this tent. Love it
Is it see through? Can people see you from the outside when the led lights are on?
It’s translucent. There are 3 brightness levels. If you were near a wall, they might see a shadow, but with the windows closed and the lights on you still have some privacy. We put the lights on low when the kids are watching movies and then we turn them off at bed time. Thanks for the comment!
That's my dream tent
Tonya here. Yes it does help if you leave the window partly unzipped to get air out
@@EricCosner - I've now had my tent for about 1 year and have used it on 6 camping trips.
