    Also there’s sealant for the Gazelle t4 hub plus. I have camped in the rain and stayed dry every time. Rain poured down in buckets one of my trips and the only place that was dry was inside of the tent. I also have camped in severe wind and had no issues.

    • @CampingGuidance

      Hey Karen! Thanks so much for the tip! Were you able to seal the hubs that were sticking out of the walls of the tent? I have no idea how to seal those 😅

    • @karenmasters9837
      @karenmasters9837 2 месяца назад

      Honestly I got it used on Facebook marketplace. The guy I bought it from said he’d sealed it. I just know I’ve never been wet despite seeing the tent up in torrential downpour rain that left puddles within seconds on the tarp I was using at the time (I now use a footprint). I think perhaps the hubs discourage rain from their design. The t4+ seems to me to have a bigger rain fly as well. That could be a difference perhaps?

    I have one of the Gazelle 4 tents. The first night I used it, there was a hell of a storm with high winds. Absolutely waterproof. That storm lasted all night. Didn't matter how much rain was happening, it stayed dry. The Flooring is 'tub' style, I could actually feel I was walking on a lot of water under my tent (because I didn't realize the backyard turned into a swamp when it rained hard). But Nothing got thru the tent. So, I loudly dispute her conclusion that the Gazelle couldn't make it thru heavy rain. It is the best tent I've ever had.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 месяца назад +1

      Oh wow I'm really glad to hear that the Gazelle could keep you completely dry! And yeah the floor is really thick with a great waterproof rating, so it's meant to keep you dry even if your backyard has turned swampy 😁 But you didn't have any issues with the hubs and pocket seams leaking?

    Another excellent review and some new graphics to boot. I think the current format and length is appropriate for the amount of information that you want to convey. The tables/charts help a lot and are effective. However, I do want to see how your new format will work out.
    I have a bone to pick though. Your chart shows that the T4 has no power port. However, you can pull the floor a bit out at any point you want to pass a power cord through. To me, that is way better than a fixed location. That's because you can then orient the tent any way you want and pass the cord through at a point closest to the power pedestal, and/or route it so that it has the least chance to become a tripping hazard.
    A YT reviewer of the Gazelle G6 gazebo told me that the denser mesh on it definitely does not allow as much ventilation as other gazebos with less dense mesh. I wonder if that is your experience with the tents.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 месяца назад +2

      Thank you so much for the comment, kind words and the feedback! 🥰 Oh! It's nice to know that you like the length and format. I've recently been getting more and more comments (as YT spreads the videos out to more viewers) that I sometimes go over a ridiculous amount of info, which is why I decided that maybe I should cut it down 😅 Perhaps I can do a mix of both in the future!
      OMG and that is such a great point that I didn't think to put in the video (face palm). I have no idea why my brain totally farted on that. Thank you for letting me know! I'll have to remember that for next time. Just a heads up though, I realized my next video on cabin tents has the exact same mistake and it's already almost done so I can't get it changed oh dear 😅😅😅
      Hmm I've definitely heard a lot about how hot the tent can get, but I don't think I've personally felt too much of that when camping in the Gazelle. Perhaps it's because it's always scorching in Singapore and the slight temp increase in the Gazelle wasn't noticeable. I'll get that tested out next time with the gazebo! I do hope to be able to do a review of that in the future 😁

    • @jenno954
      @jenno954 2 месяца назад +1

      @@CampingGuidance Hmm... ok here are some thoughts.
      1. I like the 1--4 person semi-lightweight tents, like the Teton Sports Mountain Ultra you did
      2. Lightweight kitchens that you actually can cook with (In Sweden we have something like that called Trangia kitchens)
      3. Walking merino wool t-shirts and good walking/camping pants
      4. Down sleeping bags
      5. How you would pack a not-so-ultralight-but-kind-of-light backpack
      And other cross-overs between camping and backpacking like lighters and lampst, to get cross-hobby appeal. I've seen channels with ULTRA-SUPER-DUPER-LIGHTEST-GEAR-EVER, but I'd like to see the Sensible-Weighted-Geart-For-Reaonable-Prices channel :)
      Those are my 2 cents. I'll still follow your channel, no matter what you review 🥰

      Oooh if you're looking for lamps/lanterns I do have stuff planned this year! I hope to be able to get out solar lanterns, which I think backpackers like because they're so lightweight, so maybe some of those in there could help you out a little!
      As for my backpacking trips, I'm hoping to one day make it to Nepal and Everest Base Camp (that's at the top of my bucket list). It's not a cheap trip though so I'm still trying to save up money to do so. Any backpacking trails that you might recommend?

    Very detailed showdown between these and I'm pleasantly surprised by the Coleman 4P, seems like a great tent for two with a lot of gear storage or three in a pinch. The Gazelle IMHO is way to heavy and bulky, but makes up for it by being excellent overall. I think air pole tents also deserve some attention as the free standing ones like the Zempire Pronto 4 are really great and pack down pretty compact. Cheers on another great vid👍

      Hey Fabian! Oh man sorry about the flooring! Yeah I've heard a lot of this, though I've never had issues myself. Did you manage to use the orange tabs to line up the floor?

  • @muskerp

    a saving of between 5 and 10 minutes on assemble / disassemble vs extra effort on cleaning. Good video, not sure I see the benefit of the "instant" version, especially if it costs extra.

      @CampingGuidance  Месяц назад

      Yeah, these instant tents don't really appeal to everyone for sure, it's ultimately up to your preference. And thank you so much! 🥰 I'm really glad you liked the video even if you may not be getting an "instant" tent haha

    I had a 4 man Coleman when they first came out. It broke the first time using it, rendering it useless!

      Oh man, did you get it from Amazon? They will definitely exchange it for you! Sometimes that happens to me too (Coleman tents do have a number of manufacturing defects that I've experienced too)

    You're such an amazing reviewer. Not only is the editing well done, but the analysis, graphics and attention to detail is super impressive. You gave me a lot of great advice and I ended up going with the caddis rapid 6 a few months ago. Great tent but the open mesh roof wasn't great on a very cold night. I ended up returning it and buying the Space acacia XL with the additional canopy addon and I think it's a much better version of the gazelle. The quality is superior, the door openings and zippers are great, the waterproofing and extended porch with the canopy is what I wanted. It's definitely heavy and expensive but you can sometimes get them on sale for a reasonable price like I did. Thanks again for the great advice. Here's that i bought ruclips.net/video/Qa9av14XSeU/видео.htmlsi=WLZowmxbZBWnmM5Y

It really means a lot that you like my videos and you're always supporting them 🥰 The editing is no longer going to be done by me though, I've just hired an editor (who did this video), so I hope to be able to produce more videos with someone else helping me now! And thanks for letting me know about the Space Acacia! I didn't even know about them 😅 Wow that's quite pricey though 🤯 I'll save up!
