Make moar stuff! The biggest difference between your stuff and other video game cover-ists is your attention to detail. No fancy additions, it's not "orchestrated" or remixed. It's as close as you can get to the originals but with real instruments. Evoking the same emotions as the OG. As a remixer and multi instrumentalist I really appreciate what you do because it's something I can't do. You're like a good baker, not leaving any ingredients out and pulling that shit out of the oven at exactly the right time. Bravo, man.
exactly! There is no need to make it different than the originals, people don't understand that the only flaw of the originals is the "instrument" that they were played on (snes engine). Making it real without additions is the best!
i totally agree. i've noticed many musicians like to add their own solo parts and usually it just strays away from the original song too much, which is a shame because many times the song would have been great without the extra bits.
You make it sound like he's just coloring by numbers when there is a lot more to it. There is a lot of emotion and feeling going on. If you listen to the songs side by side, you can pick out a lot of differences, but he does such a good job of distilling the essence of the original piece that you don't notice that they are different. The original has a much more, I would say MIddle Eastern vibe, with what sounds like a sitar.

My man, I’m THRILLED to have just discovered this cover and channel. Please understand the significance to me. So many fans have been digging Corridors of Time since its release in 1995. Why does Mitsuda’s original strike us as gorgeous, a favorite for so many? He not only composed brilliant pieces for Chrono Trigger but proved how much they could move an audience even through the constraints of 16-bit arrangement. And this song might have been his most effective in its scene. The player, lost in time, trudges through a snowy wasteland before stumbling upon a shocking contrast: a cloud kingdom in its magic-powered Golden Age. The sounds of tabla, sitar, and chorus give exotic hints of East Asia. But the scene is pure fantasy, so the combination feels something like Atlantis. And the lively yet melancholic tune foreshadows the kingdom’s story you’re about to discover. Corridors of Time gave me chills then and has since been one of my favorite pieces, VGM or otherwise. At age 9 I used a 28.8 dial-up modem to download an emulator, then left Chrono Trigger running idle so Corridors could be background music. I pretended my bedroom was another corner of Enhasa. Sounds silly to an outsider, but you must understand what an impression these songs left on us who grew up with them. For 25 years I've played the ripped sound file while searching for covers. It’s so hard to find one with rich instrumentation but still capturing the elegance. Every interpretation makes compromises. Minimalist solo pieces like Zohar’s on piano are certainly beautiful, even more elegantly simple in their own way. But they can’t round out the “soundscape” and end up repetitive if trying to include all the “voices” in Corridors. Orchestrations Like Dan Goodale’s “Passage Through Zeal” can be grand and triumphant, exploring another side of the Zeal story, but they completely alter the mood of the original. The electronic covers are most prevalent and often capture the chill and mystic vibe, but that’s precisely the format I’m trying to get away from. What would the real Zeal sound like? The closest I'd found so far was Mathew Valente's, which served as my study music through college, but it still didn't feel quite right. And then I stumble on your interpretation, somehow five years late to the party. Such a warm tone, such unique and detailed instrumentation - it’s clear you knew the sound you wanted and would craft it by any means necessary. A melodica for chorus, banjo in place of sitar, toy piano as glockenspiel. And so many layers of percussion to shame any other rendition out there: brilliantly mimicking the tabla, subtly implementing the shaker and tambourine. You truly made it your own with the woodwinds (tone perfectly matching the original), bass slide, and repeating phrases just because we don’t want to leave this part yet, but not sounding tedious or stalled. You perfectly maintained the balance between intricacy and building anticipation yet not ruining the peaceful chill. Every part you play knows its place, complements rather than overwhelms the others. Nothing repetitive, plenty innovative. This was a lovingly crafted and brilliantly executed piece. Clearly I’ve thought about Corridors more than anyone should admit publicly. Screw it. This is 10/10, pure gold. Thank you!
Abso-f*-lutely. This is the only cover that almost makes me forget how the original piece sounded like (I'm pretty sure that's ruclips.net/video/BXo3DrXHY8w/видео.html) - that hard bell tunes have something that immediately grab me and throw out into outer space. Like someone pulled a plug and detached me from reality for a fraction of second. Not many can do that. I just checked a few just to make sure :) And there's a sure-hit impact, but not like with CorridorsOfTime. And here goes the magic thing. The tune of those bell's that most of the covers basically lack, or overdo, or have it too polished and not rough enough - here it's on guitar. And every single time I listen to this version, I wonder, how it's possible this fits. It's not bell. It's not metallic. It's not clang-tastic. It's not rough with snes chip and all. BUT IT FITS SO DAMN WELL. I sometimes listen side-by-side this version and the original one, just to hear and feel the difference, and for some moments, it feels like PFF's version is actually better. But it quickly passes. Both are masterpieces in their own league. PFF's version is as captivating as the original one, it's so hard to pause or stop once playing, but in a different way. It doesn't leave me ripped off from reality and thrown into different world of sound, but instead pulls me in as if promising to tell a story I knew and always longed to hear again. Both are heavily melancholic, but this nuance make a huge difference like.. like hearing cool Blumenkranz from KillLaKill when you didn't know the lyrics, and after you got their intended very-uncool meaning (just the other way around, here PFF's one is the nice one, and original is the harsh one). I loved Corridors of Time immediately on first hearing, but now I know I wouldn't love it this much if I didn't hear PFF's version. Now I have two to love, and they are one.
It's unfair that musicians of your caliber and talent aren't millionaires. Thank you. Unfortunately, that's all I can give you and Mitsuda. A thank you and my tears.
Lol he didn't write this piece. If he wrote it I would agree with you. He is very talented but don't confuse the composer with the cover. What's bad is some thot with half her tits out could do 20% of a job that he does but make 5 times as much from it.
This game had the best music ever. So memorable. I remember just playing it to just listen to the soundtrack. Thanks for bringing this music back to life!

What a beautiful arrangement! I love this song and never get tired of it. I love how you doubled the ostinato an octave up at 0:56. And what's that wind instrument? It looks like a clarinet embouchure but a much simpler instrument. And the banjo on the second verse is amazing! The exposed section on the third verse was really nice too. Wonderful arrangement choices. Feel free to check out my cover of the piece too if you like :)
It's so hard to find a cover to this song that doesn't fuck it up. Everyone makes atleast 1 or 2 mistakes on the melody or completely misses an important part. Amazingly done, sir.

Incredible music, man.

I just discovered your channel... Very good stuff, I have subscribed. It's good to see people doing covers with different instruments than the electric guitar... Not that I hate electric guitars ( I am a guitarist ) but there are so many on RUclips, it gets boring when we only hear metal versions of songs.
holy shit! Finally someone who doesn't slow the tempo, suck the energy dry and make it into some form of depressing funeral song! And there's even drums involved! good show!
Funny how this song always makes me cry... I dunno... I think everytime I played CT I felt different feelings as kid, teenager and adult, and then now in this moment I can remember as if I was there in the real corridors of time! This ain't a song, this is a masterpiece!
out of all the themes in Chrono Trigger, this one is my personal favorite. every time i listen to it, i get this weird (but good) feeling that i'm suddenly in a magical land somewhere out there...
Sweet man, you rock in a very gentle and sensible way! And I love what you do with those red/blue/purple lights. Stylish, bro! But let's get to business... 1) What is that flute around 1:02 on the right of the screen called? I like its deep and warm tone. 2) Could you consider covering something from Xenogears, please? It has a kickass OST by Mitsuda as well.
Romer Nakata Thanks! That instrument is called a xaphoon. And yeah, I've gotten a lot of requests for something from the Xenogears soundtrack, so I'll probably record something from there eventually. In the meantime I'll probably try to record some other stuff I've arranged so that my recent uploads won't turn into a stream of Mitsuda covers (not that there's anything wrong with that).
OMG, this is fantastic. I have a deep love of Chrono Trigger, and especially this song. It was my favorite music from the game. I REMEMBER the kingdom of Zeal...
You just popped up in my recommendations, and damn this is such a nice arrangement! Just. Really nice choices for all the parts going on here. Can I ask what kind of wind instrument that is, from around the minute mark onwards? It's super lovely and I'm now officially tempted to get one. :v

You make very beautiful music. This is one of my favorite songs from CT and without a doubt my favorite cover of it. Thanks for all this!
một thời games chrono trigger đã 27 năm qua rồi nhớ lại một tuổi bi giờ nhìn lại mình đã 40 tuổi rồi cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều
I Don't know if you found out by now, but its a Xaphoon. I picked one up myself, but I struggle to play it though.
@@omegazeroINFI good info, i was wondering
It's so hard to find a cover to this song that doesn't fuck it up. Everyone makes atleast 1 or 2 mistakes on the melody or completely misses an important part. Amazingly done, sir.
Your covers are always the best! I love the guitalele, it's so cute.
This cover is my favorite track ever for painting! Nothing tickles my right hemisphere better.
I'm so glad Google isn't greedy, I only had THREE ads in this 4min 42sec song.
*cries tears of joy*
You just earned yourself a sub, good sir. Please keep up the great work!

Seriously, I just found your channel about 15 minutes ago and I love it. You've got quite some talent with covers like these. Usually people stick to one instrument, but you master them all. Incredible music, man.
i have beat chrono trigger for every system they have released it for and i must say no one captures its beauty like you do. i can close my eyes and just picture the greatness that is chrono trigger and for that i thank you
"I finally bought a guitalele... you will probably see it in my next 100 videos"
10 months later, still no videos :C
+1objection the most painful modern desire: eternal procastination
Definitely one of the best songs in a video game! All the instruments sound so nice together.
And there's even drums involved! good show!
The best cover .. . .
Funny how this song always makes me cry... I dunno... I think everytime I played CT I felt different feelings as kid, teenager and adult, and then now in this moment I can remember as if I was there in the real corridors of time! This ain't a song, this is a masterpiece!
The best melody of Chrono Trigger - Corridors of Time
how the heck does this video not have a million vieuws yet??
this channel is such a hidden gem on RUclips
You're the 4th Guru, haha.
Guru of Magic if you ask me
This is the most beautiful song
So relaxing, just perfect! Amazing work. :D
out of all the themes in Chrono Trigger, this one is my personal favorite. every time i listen to it, i get this weird (but good) feeling that i'm suddenly in a magical land somewhere out there...
For me, its more of a time, a place and an era bygone, one you can no longer return to.
more yasunori mitsuda please, we have tons of beautiful themes
The stereo in this track is beautifully mastered.
What's the name of that flute? Its amazing it's sound.
Thanks a lot Yasunori, for share this to us, God bless you, hugs!
I think he got lost in a time gate. Haven't seen him in half a year.
I'm blown away by you. I just discovered your videos and I'm in love with this style. It really brings new life into such potent relics of childhood.
And holy smokes, just heard that fretless slide. Such style!
Wonderful treatment. Having heard several excellent others this one brings it's own unique flavour to this Matsuda piece. Marvellous.
Mejor que el original !!! =), tus covers son muy buenos ya que mezclan muchos instrumentos.
People like you make me feel like I have done nothing with my life..........THANKS!!
Cover maravilhoso
Literal chills running down my spine
haven't you heard Xenogears soundtrack? also amazing and made by Mitsuda
This is crazy good. Thanks for taking me back to days long ago. Love your rendition of this classic.
A lovely arrangement
OMG, this is fantastic. I have a deep love of Chrono Trigger, and especially this song. It was my favorite music from the game. I REMEMBER the kingdom of Zeal...
Que hermosa canción me llegó al 💓
¿sigues vivo?, yo la uso para estudiar
Fantastic rendition of one of my favorite video game songs. Probably my favorite. I'm just glad I got another version of it to enjoy. Fantastic work.
You just popped up in my recommendations, and damn this is such a nice arrangement! Just. Really nice choices for all the parts going on here. Can I ask what kind of wind instrument that is, from around the minute mark onwards? It's super lovely and I'm now officially tempted to get one. :v
Same. Trying to find more of it myself.
My vocabulary cannot articulate a good enough response to express how amazing you are at doing these
