Few times a year I come back to listen to this masterpiece to remember the good old days when the grass was more green and sky was more blue.
Damn
So true
Wow now I see just how pathetic modern life really is thanks 😢
I've never touched this game but this music makes me want to keep living.
Much the same.
Then you should give it a try, it's worth it.
yeah play both trigger and cross both of them are amazing games
Yeah people this is definitely in the plans, gonna give them a go probably starting next year!
@@leobelmont8435 Soooooo...? Have you?! :D
The sounds of summer...The further I get into the future, the more I miss the past...
thts deep
I love how Yasunori Mitsuda treats the Chrono Trigger theme in various of his songs. You can hear it here in 'Fields Of Time', 'Dreams Of The Ages', 'Chronomantic', all from Chrono Cross, and in 'Memories Of Green' and of course 'Chrono Trigger', from the first game of the saga. Truly the greatest soundtrack for a videogame saga.
Square enix trademark nobuo uematsu do this too
@@iMortao it's not really a "Square Enix trademark". It's a technique called the 'leitmotif' which is a common one utilized by many composers
Idk if I can listen to the regular music after this mix
All the soundtracks of Chrono series makes me feel like I belong in some other dimension and time.
truly immersed the player into the world. their job was done
So true. These games do a very good job of that.
I noticed something that sucks... It's harder to get immersed these days...
Games tend to be crappier and less orig but also being older and so busy now keeps me from having the time to just chill out and get lost in the game.
Such is life... I do hope to go back in time one day when I'm a old man... If you know what I mean...
A halo reach guy..
I totally agree ;-;
New stuff dont move as much as old stuff. They simply put more heart into them, thats rare nowadays. Creating games that'll make players experience wonders and not just for profit.. old times were beautiful..I wanna time travel back to those golden years.. ;-;
Let's compose a list of immersive games.
1. Chrono Cross
2. Dragon Quest 8
3. Rogue Galaxy
4. Early part of Final Fantasy 12
5. Threads of Fate
6. Grandia 1
7. Kingdom Hearts 1
8. Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal
9. Sly Cooper series
10. Telltale Games (Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us)
11. Dragon Age 1
12. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 & 2
13. Monster Hunter World
14. Ar Tonelico 1
15. Disgaea Series (my 1st was D5)
16. Radiata Stories
They are in no particular order...
@@spacesomeone Man I thought it was just me that felt this way. I miss those games and feelings of experience wonders and awe and otherworldly things so damn much....
I don't know what the hell is this at all. I was just looking for osts to listen to , and damn this is amazing. It just does not stop being amazing .
wild
The amount of nice summer vibes and nostalgia I get from this is absolutely unreal. I love it.
Youve never experienced summer. Stop lying dude.
I have very bad mental health issues, this wonderful game called Chrono Cross/Chrono Trigger, have been a huge coping mechanism for me, this is my entire childhood and it makes me to happy to hear tbis song
as someone who grew up near the sea and went island hopping a lot as a child... this music resonates with my soul.
bragging much?????????
@@Tetsaga lol
this is hands down the best arrangement for chrono cross
Every time I listen to this music I imagine myself on a tropical beach looking out over an ocean of clear azure water. Magical!
and I imagine myself next to you. It's pretty romantic, actually.
I've never played Chrono Cross, but hearing this tune just makes me feel nostalgic and at peace. Like all of my worries and negative thoughts are purify while in a clean body of water. It feels nice...😊
That's why i have my morning coffee everyday with Chrono Cross OST in background. Bliss.
Play the game
@@apoloccorrea I should get around to that at some point.
@@clamthechef2389 It was just re released this month
I wonder why it is so good. I wonder... If this was not from a game, and just popped up randomly from som unknown place, would it still be good? And if so, why is it so good? Never played it myself, but knowing that "this game has such great music" must be an enhancer.
I never played Chrono Chross yet, but I listened this ost in airplane when I was traveling to Japan last May. Such memories 💕
Why are you lying to people on the internet

This brought me to tears. Had to stop work for a few minutes, just to soak up all the childhood memories flashing before my eyes, from the moment i came home one spring day to find this sitting atop my PS1 to the sleepless nights i stayed up playing New Game+ to recruit all the characters.
Good times.
Also brought me to tears. But especially because when I was finally able to recall all characters in a single playthrough, I did it before Harle leaves. Then she left. Then I had all but Harle. And I always used Harle.
That's when I moved on from Chrono Cross.
Man people who dismiss video games as a waste of time just don't get it. Some of my memories playing video games (with my friends, with my family, with myself) are among some of my most valuable. And as as you have touched on @holyordersol, it's not necessarily about the game itself... it's the time of your life connected to that game.
Try Suikoden 2.
I have never finished the game, but I played it as a kid. Now I'm 32, and I know that before I leave this adventure, I have to finish this game.
@@alighathorc1549 Absolutely worth completing the game, even in light of some minor pacing issues. Listening to this music again, especially in these dark times is truly lifting; even if only for a few moments.
the best RPG of all time, but seriousley, the best OST in the history of Games, PERIOD
cross is good but imo the title of best rpg of all time would go to chrono trigger, imo tho they are both tied for having the best ost in history of games tho
@@troneee6011 well, i played Trigger and that was really one of the best RPG´s i have ever played, and also FF6 and Mario RPG in the same generation, even the Tales of Phantasia, but Chross have something that make me so melancolic, so wooow, Yasunori Mitsuda in the music, the photography was literaly the best for the generation and the inmersion was so incredible. i know that farming on the other games was better, but Chross have something incredible, even i played it on emulators because my ps1 was stolen and i keep playing on the pc with its limitations of the emulator. but even then i still play al
@@Scout17IV How so?
I agree with you on the OST. In my opinion, the Chrono Cross soundtrack is Yasunori Mitsuda's best work.
seems like you havent played FF9 or read reviews on FF9... but yea... these soundtracks are maybe better than FF9
The kids who played Chrono Trigger way back then have now all grown up, became a music composers, producers, game designers, web designers, accountants, managers, bricklayers, etc. Heck, some may not be with us anymore. Nowadays, every now and then, we are reminiscing the hundreds of hours in our lives spent in the world of Chrono Trigger, through this wonderful music from Yasunori Mitsuda that lives forever, etched eternally in our mind. Unreal to think just how many kids minds are inspired by his craft, and now have become adults. True masterpiece.

he did mix them together at the end though
sound mixing is an art form, this is one of the best examples of that. there should be more arrangements like this
This is probably the best Matsuda cover I have ever heard in my life.
Man, this game helped me through one of the biggest changes in my life. It helped pass the hours as those feelings were cemented forever through much mental strife and anxiety. This was beautifully done and I appreciate everything about it.
I'm sure you were really suffering playing Chrono Cross all day lol what a joke

I seriously cant get enough of this arrangement. It is absolutely hypnotizing...so relaxing.
legit one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. I never want it to end
CC is one of the greatest games ever made, with a god tier OST
I've listened to this nearly every day since I started working from home (at the beginning of the pandemic). Figured it was time to say thank you for this beautiful arrangement!
Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger need to be remastered for the PS5
Been listening to this time from time since 2018. I haven’t even played Chrono Cross or Trigger and this music does so much wonder.
This is stunning. I'm so glad RUclips suggested this to me while listening to Chrono Cross music.
I'm absolutely in love with that synth remix towards the middle. Sounds like it was ripped straight out of the game itself. These are some truly masterful covers!
Chrono cross music has a hint of different types of traditional music from different places of the world: arabic, spanish, scottish, etc.. and then fused with tropical sea paradise theme.. it is what makes it so wonderfully beautiful.
This arrangement transported me to a world free of my troubles. Thank you
A masterpiece arranged, from one of the greatest games ever. I enjoy listening to this everyday with my 2 months old daughter. She loves it too. It is incredible how a RUclips video can make us feel so happy and so calm. Sometimes it's all we need in those hard days.
Thank you.
Listen, I'm a fully grown man who loves playing video games, but I never played Chrono Trigger or Cross
Yet somehow when I listen to this childhood bliss, notalgia and a wave of perfect calmness is what I feel. I just want to be on a tropical beach somewhere like the art because the music is just that well made.
So thank you to the people who made this and uploaded it, as an adult who has stress in their life and can't just take a vacation to a tropical island whenever I want this piece of music will always lower my heart rate and take me there.
play chrono trigger , it's wonderful
This is super beautiful, 8 years after it still sounds great

Cheers to one of Squares most underrated titles. Deserves a remake 10/10
Not underrated. Underappreciated. G0t a perfect score almost everywhere.
Not according to most Trigger fans.
@@budakbaongsiah its greatest sin was not being Chrono Trigger yet I could imagine it being criticized too if it was too similar to the original, no matter the way choosen it had a hard road ahead being the sequel of one of the most beloved RPGs.
@@Sealdeam I think the issue for me personally, as someone who views chrono trigger as their favourite game of all time. Cross just felt lackluster all around, there is plenty to love about it and i think it would've done better had it not been a sequal and was a stand alone title. Because for a sequal it does a poor job, 90% of the game you have no idea its even connected to the first game at all then out of nowhere they drop it on you but by that point I was more annoyed I had to wait so long. And even then they massively over complicated the story of the first game with everything they added, and it didn't need that. One of the best things about Chrono trigger to me is that it's story is straight forward and doesn't require a wiki to understand. Even after completing cross the first time I still wasn't sure entirely how the two games were connected. It had a good premise, the whole idea that lavos which was buried in the planet for such a long time pretty much screwed so many other timelines by getting rid of it essentially Crono and gang tried to save the world and they did, but also kind of messed it up in the process was really cool, but they could've executed better I feel. All the stuff with lynx and everything else just felt meh because all trigger fans wanted was the reveal of how the games were connected and what happened after the first game. And it takes so long before you get any of that.
wish granted :D
Brings back youthful nostalgia and memories of old friends. Chrono cross is one of the craziest stories. Wish I could go back and enjoy everything to the fullest.
I heard this for the first time a few days ago, and I've been looping it since then. This might be my favorite version. It's cheerful almost the whole way through, while keeping the meloncolic feel in certain parts. Amazinh job.
You know what? In all aspects 80 90 2000's music were really something even in musical backgrounds. Modern games nowadays put emphasis on sound of walking, the aaarrrgh of the characters the expression of places. But back in the day it is more emotional. Chrono cross, Final fantasy or suikoden have great backgrounds sounds that you put in your playlist. Its relaxing and fun. Note: i just listened to aerith's theme. It was awesome
I'm playing Chrono Cross again, it's like my 14th playthrough. This game never gets older. You did an amazing job with this arrage Sensei!
Perfect writing music. I've always wanted to travel to Paris to sit in a little cafe and write my books.
The intro ambience is something else. Worthy of being its own separate track.
This rendition of an already beautiful song just transcends me beyond space and time. This is so beautiful. I love the homage to the original instrumentation, and when the main instruments shift, it gave me goosebumps. Bravo!
Tremendous. You managed to keep the spirit of the original and still put your own excellent touch on it.
Takes me back to those epic and amazing moments… Ah what an impact CT and CC has had on me… ❤ Superb arrangement, Thank you !!!

This will sound really corny but, I'm not getting any younger. I was thinking walking home from work, there's a lot of thing life will and has taken from me. Music like this is one of those things they can never take from me.
I think those thoughts are helpful. It's an important thing to realise that time is short.
@@thelastsidewalk the hardest part of growing up is knowing the only reason you feel out of touch is because your perception of reality narrows until it is as finite as the infitesimal, ie watching your parents grow old after mourning there's. Not recent but, on my mind.
This came up in autoplay. I had seen the thumbnail before but didn't realize these were unique performances. Loving the first song so far.
I just realized the cover of this video is based on an illustration fan art I painted of Nathan Drake and Sam from Uncharted 4. Really flattering.

So peaceful. Makes me want to play Chrono Cross
I was sitting in my school library tired after all the studying for my grad program when I cam across this beauty. Instantly cried. That was around 2016 and this video hardly had any views. I'm so glad it caught on! This is amazing work.
Same.
This was one of the pieces that got me through my master's thesis. Good to know i'm not the only one.
did you guys play chrono cross.?
For a world to matter if it's worth saving, you need peace and serenity. only then can chaos and conflict have meaning.
Chrono Cross had such an amazing music direction that despite the short scuffles going on over the entire map, it never felt like the game wasn't worth playing through to the end. With so many games coming out in these coming years, I feel many games forget that. It was a land worth saving.
I think I understand the final message of the game just a bit more today than I did back then.
i played this game back in 2000... nostalgia... lovet! my favorite game of all...
This is by far my favourite version. Thaks for sharing!!
the ps1 was the golden age of rpgs i still remeber how gaming kept me out of trouble how many friends i lost when i chose a career in gaming
Yeah, I hear you about gaming keeping one out of trouble. My parents used to constantly get on my case for gaming and told me to be more like my relatives and kids at school [who didn't game], and who were always getting into trouble doing all the things that my parents thought I should be doing instead. So many of them are messed up adults now because of those days.
@@CurseOfTheSox i was a problem i ran the streets sold drugs and did alot of bad shit growing up video games kept me in the house rather than outside separated me from friends i ended up losing over better

while they are either dead or in prison doing life kinda bitter sweet gaming saved my life
I never played the game, but this music gives me a wonderful nostalgia of my high achool days. Maybe I heard it once without knowing.
If life had New Game+, I would still play this game again.
This might have been the best thing to come out of Chrono Cross. It's outstanding.

thx square for the game, thx Yasunori Mitsuda for the music, and thx to u for remixing the music
Epic song, great arrangement! super!
This is so beautifully arranged. I keep coming back to it. Thank you ❤
enjoying a song this much should not be possible the switches between smooth somber tones and drums passing into a soft high hat cabasa combo that works so well in there shared dynamic the way the piano blends with and transitions back and forth from strings this is magical the mix of conga drums or bongos with claves and wood blocks in the background and with the bells mixed with a more distorted and electronic sound giving the impression that you've dove under the water this is a truly a composition that would take far more then a thousand pictures to put into words just wounderfull thank you to all party's involved including Kuta Sensei for putting this together for us to find
