This is an age-old story beginning with taia777 in 2012, where people from all walks of life would comment about how their life is going. In 2020 that original video was removed. In that video's honour, I have kept both the original title and video, as we have all found the video recommended to us seemingly from nowhere, with a Japanese title and low-graphics thumbnail. Yet, out of curiosity, we elect to watch it and find a beautiful community of commenters

Currently writing my final thesis for my bachelor's degree. After this thesis, I will have university degree. I am having a hard time though, I need to write about 9000 words in a week's time. Why am I like this?
all im saying, for me, music is where i draw inspiration from. when i get some good music going, everything is clear. do something that takes some stress off your mind and plan your thesis out while doing it. also make sure to change words like "isn't" to "is not" for those extra words :P

Me too. I'm brazilian, and about to get a degree in brazilian portuguese language and literature. I think i'm not supposed to have struggles with writing, but i am having a hard time organizing the ideas of my thesis and starting to write, but now i only have about 10 days to finish everything.

Try practicing gratefulness : Every night, before going to bed, take time (abt 5min) to write down a couple of things you are grateful for, like "I'm grateful that pasta exist" or "I'm grateful to have that nice friend". I know it sounds a little funny, but doing that makes you feel in average happier. Of course don't take that as a miracle solution, but at least try it out ! It can't hurt xD. Have a great life !

Checkpoint: My 37 year old sister passed away 2 nights ago from multiple organ failure. She fought this battle since she was a teenager. She was the sweetest and nicest person I knew. The world seems darker without her.
When the world is at its darkest, it can only get better from there. You'll make it past this hard point in life, things will get better, don't forget what happened, but let the weight of that push you forward instead of dragging you downwards. ❤
i bet it feels very dark. but the only way to make it through is to shine a light. i bet she was an amazing soul, glowing brightly, warming those near her with her radiance. But now her light went dark, and i bet she wanted to see how much you could shine.

i feel you (kinda), my mom's half-sister who she didnt really know about until later on (family reasons..) died from organ failure a few months ago due to drinking all the time. my mother was devastated as shit when my aunt passed, i didn't really get to know her well but its like if one of my brothers died, i would be destroyed too. hope you feel better stranger on the internet.

Got recommended this video as a lay in bed at 8am unable to sleep. Reading the comments here has been very emotional, I hope everyone keeps doing their best. I know I might not have an effect on your life but I gonna try anyways because nobody likes to hear a person killed themselves, I want you to know that suffering is a part of life but not a permanent part, the suffering always ends to reveal the greatest of happiness and knowing you lived through the suffering only makes it better, and if you end it all you’ll never get a chance to experience that greatness, and maybe the greatness ends and the suffering returns but nothing is permanent, no matter how long it last. From this greatness you’ll find friends and they can help the greatness last, and be there for you in the suffering to bring you back, and if me writing my heart out says anything even people who arn’t your friends will help if you need it. Nobody would want you gone and It would be just as painful for those around you if you end it, I know I would be sad. Ending it is never the solution, any problems you have can be solved in different ways to only lead to greatness. I really sincerely hope this helped, and have a wonderful life

nah but fr tho. i may be just a random guy on the internet, but its nice knowing people are doing well. and you clearly are not doing well. ive never been through what you've been through, so i cant relate to your feelings properly. we cant even see eachothers faces, yet its clear to me that the person on the other side of my screen needs a bit of loving.
I remember hearing how happiness is a universal feeling, but sadness comes in many forms. i couldnt imagine the many forms of sadness youve come across to reach 5 attempts. But, the only direction from rock bottom is up.
Keep the ropes and knives down, and keep your chin up. If you got the energy to claw at yourself, then you got the energy to pump some iron. maybe take your emotions out on the ground. stomp around a bit and go for a jog. or maybe you wanna hit some stuff, learn a bit of boxing or judo. maybe you are a musical or artistic type of person. grab some paint and go crazy on your walls when you're mad! or maybe dont if you dont own the house, but you get what i mean.
If you're feeling emotions so intense you're gonna break, break something. dont break yourself. if you break yourself, who is gonna live your life? who is gonna laugh for you? who is gonna love you? (yes i did just reference live, laugh, love (no i dont regret it))

When i was younger and in school i had a similar period of my life. I managed to pull through, but it took many, many years to recover, and it was very hard.
Video games were my escape as well. If you can stomach it, listen to reggae music, that lifted me up during my hardest years.

@CamelGuy3 - My advice to you is to do something fun that'll also better you outside of classes. I think taking up physical exercise like martial arts, working out or a sport would be great for your confidence and you could meet some great people whilst doing it. Also do nofap, eat healthy. All of these will sky rocket your confidence, and you'll be able to stand up for yourself a lot more easily.
You got this man, I believe you can defo turn things around, take it from me, I had a year where I felt friendless and hated life, followed by the best year of my life when I did nofap, meditation and living a healthy life style.
As someone who’s also gone through this, it’s not about what others think of you, it’s about what you think of yourself, always look up, your fight isn’t over yet soldier.

Checkpoint: Stopped smoking, in trauma therapy, living in a better home, dating a guy from my school, eating disorder and self harm gone down tremendously, experience a childlike wonder and genuine love for life, getting stronger everyday at the gym, learning to love myself and my body again, being the way I am without caring about judgement from others anymore, went from constant suicidal thoughts everyday to now holding dearly onto my life. I'm so happy and I never thought I'd ever get here. I promise you it does get better.

@@cardboardshippinglinesowne8668 There are other comments here which deal with that. Good advise. Good books to read. First of all. Remember....these thoughts are irrational. Make a list of what is fact and what is your mind telling you. For example. your mind telling you "I am worthless'. fact: "I am good at this... or that...". Even if your fact is.. 'No one is worthless'. Trick is to remember your value always.... because we forget and we make all this irrational thoughts in our head that sound so 'logical' or 'better for everyone'... when they are not. Even at your lowest.... we are not beings wired to hurt ourselves... any thought of it.. is a lie our mind is telling us. Please seek professional help.. medicine does work... and do everything else you can as supplement.

The fog ain’t coming
Checkpoint 1: I really need to start doing stuff afraid instead of avoiding it completely. I feel so far behind in life and I want to do more with it other than work, game, and sleep.
I would recommend doing something small every once in awhile, even something as simple as a long walk can help break up what feels like a death spiral, but never feel afraid to try something new
Check point: my brother k!lled himself 3 months ago, I graduate high school in 1 week, I start college after this summer. It feels like so many things are changing all at once in my life and it doesn’t feel real. After my brothers passing it just feels like a bad dream I can’t seem to wake up from. I dissociate a lot. I hope going to college will help me get better. Life is bitter sweet minus the sweet right now. I love you all, thank you for being here with me, I’m glad we’re all able to be here together.
Im so sorry for your loss, my brother is graduating in a few weeks, and ive genuinely considered suicide, I was in enough pain that I didnt consider how someone like him would process it if I went through with it. When someone is in that much pain its very easy to forget how others would take it, but it never has to do with how much you love someone, im sure he loved you so much more than you know 💜💜

Life is so strange.. im 27 years old, and never encounted the original internet checkpoint. And seemingly out of nowhere, i get recommended this video in the same way many others have. The japanese text, the unassuming backround.. I cannot explain the instantaneous flood of emotion that came over me. It is one of the most human experiences ive ever had. Reading all of these stories, struggles, and glimmers of hope gives me the strength to continue. While I may not have been there to see the original, this hit me just as hard.
The battle continues, and I must move forward.

Make sure not to overwork yourself!! Med school seems VERY hard. Keep going! It gets better as you go.
As someone who is married to a professor that advises pre-med students, keep in mind that med schools won't touch a transcript under 3.7GPA since it is so competitive. Have a back-up plan just in case, USE YOUR UNIVERSITY'S FREE TUTORING SERVICE, and don't keep retaking classes - med schools won't like that and you'll be wasting a lot of money. Of course, develop strong study habits if you haven't already - Chemistry, in particular, can NOT be memorized with flash cards; you need to be able to understand the concepts in order to pass. Best of luck!

I found this song 5 years ago when I was at the lowest point in my life. Heavily suicidal, incredibly depressed and with no hope for the future. I was scrolling and found this video wondering what it could be, and when I heard the music, that was all I needed to let my guard down and just cry everything I was feeling out.
Since then, things have changed so much. I surprised even myself by managing to get my act together and graduate high school with a 3.49 GPA, and finding a girl that loves me just as much as I love her and we’re closing in on 2 years strong. I’m not the healthiest weight wise, but I’m down from where I was before and feeling the best I have been in a long time. I’ve got a nice job where I make pretty good pay, get great benefits and 2 meals per day due to the shifts I work, and I’m getting along with all my coworkers. I truly never expected to get this far.
If anyone sees this stop along my journey, I’m proud of you for any and all accomplishments you’ve made and I can’t wait to see how you all are doing next time I check in

Checkpoint 6/6/23: My German Shepard just passed away a few days ago. She had cancer, and was trying her hardest to hold on for the last few months of her life. She was such a warrior, she would do anything to protect me and my family. I'm so glad I got to meet her, I hope now she is peaceful, running and playing, chasing squirrels, just like she used to ❤
Men what a coincidence. My girl was also a german shepherd. Also died a few days ago. Time has been rough lately, hope you do okay. She is out there in heaven, don’t let your memories die.

I just got home from a trip with my fiance and his family to Tennessee to meet his grandparents. It was my first-ever time flying, and despite my anxieties, the flights were amazing! The crew were really helpful with my wheelchair, and were very patient with me. I feel so at home in the air!! Tennessee was really nice too, very warm and humid, and I had such a great time with my fiance's grandparents, who already love me!
It's really refreshing to actually, finally have a family that loves me, that wants to be around me, and that meets me where I'm at with my illnesses and disabilities. After 22 years, I don't have to fight to survive anymore. At last.
