After months of dedication, we have finally finished this massive project!
The Chrono Cross soundtrack is truly awe-inspiring. The feeling of each track perfectly adheres to the part of the game it represents. For this medley, we tried our hardest to preserve the integrity of Mitsuda's work while adding in our own stylistic changes as well. It took a lot of time and effort, but in the end it was definitely worth it.
As a personal note, this collaboration has really enhanced my skills in many aspects of youtube video/music creation. Not only did I greatly expand my knowledge of video editing and what my software is capable of, but I also expanded my knowledge of the audio recording process (mic positionings, room importance, etc). Overall, this was a great experience for me and hopefully my friends and I will create more massive online collaborations like this one in the future!
And a huge thanks to Dr. Whitaker for giving me permission to use my college's percussion! :)

Feel like yesterday when i was a child and spent a whole day playing Chrono Cross. 20+ years has passed but my love for Chrono cross series still the same. Greatest game and OST ever. Now 2020 this medley makes my eyes wet for nostalgia.

@@samle1801 Damn, you're old. But its true, it WAS NOT Under-appreciated game AT ALL. Gamespot gave this game 10/10, and all gaming magazine at that time in my country put Sarge, Kidd & Lynx at least 3 times and all of them gave praises and walkthourgh and all of its multiple choices variants.
I don't think its an under-appreciated game, just not well known. Square Soft could do no wrong on the PS1
If anything Chrono Cross is over appreciated.

Playing Chrono Cross was something very deep and incredible to me. I've played FFVIII too, it's a very good game, but Chrono Cross, Chrono Cross is something else. It's very complex and sentimental, and the music, is flawless. I'll never forget the feeling I got while I played it. I feel the same way. It holds even greater sentiment for me, bc this was my first RPG, let alone JRPG.
I have no idea what compelled my father to bring the game home, but I will never forget the day I came home from school one spring day to find Chrono Cross sitting on my PS1.
this game was my first RPG I played when senior high school. That feeling so incredible..especially for the iconic music..seriously,when I show the game to my wife,she just silent,smile and hug me..hahaha...so many thanks for this video and chrono cross team!!
Hmm... what do you hold higher? Chrono Cross or Xenogears? Its a difficult question.
I never liked FFVIII, even though it doesn't deserve the hate it gets, one could agree it was probably the worst one of the 2nd generation, but it takes a more in-depth philosophical view of the events than usual in a FF, like chrono cross does, but cross does it far better, because it has a whole universe to work with (not always for the best though, the dragon's/reptile story was awful, except for the jester), and has some far more memorable areas revolving around the same themes (time compression with ultimecia/ dimensions and time stop with fate) like dead sea/chronopolis compared to Ultimecia's castle and clock tower.

Usually these collaborative mixes are mediocre at best. This is fantastic, very true to the spirit of the original sound, and without the typical mixing flaws. It manages to pull of a big sound with a small ensemble. Just. Stellar.

I still keep going back to the Chrono Cross music at 27. You guys are better than the full orchestras I've played while studying. It's almost identical to the in-game music - not over orchestrated or jazzed up. Very tight and on-key. This is awesome!

What an amazing medley. Had me in my feels. This is one of my favorite sound tracks from the 90's era games. Between Chrono Cross, FFVIII, and FFVII:Crisis Core soundtracks... I like them ALL.
This is, for sure, the best medley I have ever heard. Seriously...I really cried. I have the entire OST on my mp4 player and now I'll sure add this song to my playlist.

I've been listening to this for a long, long... long time, and I've been through a lot in my life during this time, and many things changed. During worse and best, this medley was always there with me, in public or in private, in airplanes and different continents, in love and anger, also pain and success, from twenties to thirties. You guys were amazing indeed, so thank you so much for so many hours of awesomeness!
I've just heard the fantastic job you did with insaneintherainmusic, Hattrax and Papeghin and... wow! You're really leaving me without words. This medley is great! It's fantastic to see collaborations like this one.
Why can't we get a Chrono Cross Remaster? I ask WHY??? This game is perfect, the story, the world, the music. Everything about this game is perfect and it DESERVES a Remaster. I grew up on Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross, and it is one of my favorite JRPGs. It is up there with my love for the Final Fantasy games.
You’re one of the few that consider Chrono Cross as perfect. Most notably, it is a mess of dialogue dumps at the end to make up for a lack of coherent storytelling. As for the battle mechanics, the various characters have no real distinction in battle besides their elements
On the more subjective side, It literally slaughters everyone’s favorite characters from the last game with barely a reason to do so. It’s also been noted that poor midi use made the battle music sound way worse than it did on Radical Dreamers, despite being on better hardware.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the game, and I do hope to replay it sometime. But I would rather see the game entirely reworked instead of seeing Square release another poor attempt at a remaster.

Definitely not a hater. It’s one of the few games I’ve replayed, but I save “perfect” for games like Chrono Trigger and not many others (mayyyybe FFX?) I could name more good things about it, like that shocking character swap in the middle, or the speech engine that gives the characters quite a bit of personality (despite all saying the exact same things). And besides, my favorite games (Suikoden and FFV) are very far from perfect.
But I do think it could really benefit from a full remake that fleshes out it’s battle system, remasters the music, and sprinkles more of it’s connections with Chrono Trigger as either optional side content, or as maybe as visions at key parts of the story instead of all at once at the end. The game sometimes forget that good stories “show, don’t tell.”
@@dracoerrarus4834 Honestly, you stole the words right out of my mouth. I love Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy X, any Suikoden game, and any other Final Fantasy game for that matter. I couldn't agree more about what you said about a Chrono Cross Remake. I just REALLY want to jump back into this game again.
I agree. And I don t trust anybody who doesn't like at least a couple of the final fantasy games. Absolute marvels of the jrpg.
Lizard Dance is a most undervalued! when i first listen i think it is so good, finnally found it's cover.

While quite good, Xenogears is better, despite the disc 2 issues. My biggest gripe about CC is having to play as Lynx for half the game.

It makes my heart ache how beautiful Chrono Cross is,the music made the adventure so magical and literally out of this world,I would gladly play it again if I could.There were so many characters,so many stories,I connected with more than any Final Fantasy game.I would pay to go to this concert,well done.

I've never actually played Chrono Cross but this is such an unbelievable jam!
You're missing out! What about the original, Chrono Trigger? It was originally released on SNES and you can get it on your phone for like $4 or something like that. It's a perfect and very well done port to mobile of the original. I actually prefer Trigger over Cross. They're both absolute masterpieces though! Same musical composer too!
No amount of time can pass that would make me love this music any less. Easily one of the greatest and most unsung OSTs of all time.
