@@Colorado_Native It depends on whether or not your rotors are designed to have a cavity tolerance or not. Sometimes they have cavities to help the brake pads bite without burning their mouths. In your case however, I would likely recommend an automotive dentist since I don't know if those holes are supposed to be there.
@@itsskip Oh, thanks for the reply. We've found the holes in the rotors quite handy fo squishing the mud out when going over some of the high-mountain passes here. Do you think making the holes bigger would help? How about drilling out the pads? My mechanic recommended flossing. I think he meant for the Jeep and not me. Ideas? Thanks.

@@rianhines8747 Mine has a noticeable overbite on the front. Should I be concerned? Will rotating the tires help? I seem to use the brakes more going downhill. I'm concerned about this. Have you seen some of the dropoffs on Hwy 145? They're scary.

I usually put a few breath mints in my engine oil. It makes my oil changes minty fresh.

They do make a sent additive for kerosene it's also a cleaner have not used it in gas but in diesel in heaters and it's cleaned up every heater that I have used it in first time had a kerosene heater that blew out nothing but black smoke used a hole bottle in 2 gallons and by the end it was clear no smoke and had a good sent u can get it at home Depot but a lot cheaper at Walmart just not as much of a selection
I suspect the heat tolerance is a big factor. If the liquid part of the formulation has a low boiling point, I assume there will be a "steam hydroplaning" effect, where the steam creates a low friction barrier of steam. Has happened in aircraft runway overruns before
The 800 grit abrasive particles are thicker than the steam cushion could be.
-Had they pushed the pistons back so the pads were not that close to the disk, and then sprayed the disk itself with something like 3M 80 spray on contact adhesive, I bet that thing would lock its brakes right up and stop in shorter distance than stock.

Toothpaste usually contains Hydrated Silica as an abrasive. Essentially sand.
Well, the metal polish is a great way to clean the rotors up before an MOT test, just remember to change the pads... :P
What if you put sandpaper in between the brake pad and rotor to increase friction?
I'd imagine it would very quickly polish the surface of the paper like their wooden brakes they tried
Better idea would be to try coarse grinding stones like you would use to sharpen a knife

Another awesome experiment. Love you guys, and all the amazing videos y'all make. You guys do everything I've ever wanted to try, but never did because i didn't want to ruin my car. A stick shift is hard to find here in the USA, and I'd like to keep my 1997 Kia Sephia as long as possible instead of scrapping it. The engine is still quite healthy after about 500,000 miles (800,000km) and aside from a few electrical gremlins and no air conditioning, it actually doesn't run badly. I replaced timing belts and the clutch myself at home in my front yard, and still drive it till this day. Anyway I love you guys, and y'all's awesome videos. Much love to y'all from South Carolina USA.

Air goes in an engine, exhaust is hooked up to the next engine's intake.
How many engines can run like this?
Bonus points if you can make it per cylinder by going by firing order. How many cylinders will have usable air?
I believe the biggest issue with this is that as soon as the pads start to compress onto the disc, it will not let the particulates pass between them, rendering no advantage, and any fluids or detergents will leave a film reducing effectiveness of the pads futher

Once you contaminate the brake pads like you guys did with the previous experiment with all kinds of lubricants you have to change the brake pads after each product to make a precise comparison on the braking distance

Need to try and use sand paper or even use a grinding stone as the brake disc this will grab the brakes great

Wonder if you could turn your rotors with polishing paste and a set of cheap pads.
The whitening part of the toothpaste is probably hydrogen peroxide. Toothpaste normally has abrasive in it. There's a dental abrasive index (I've forgotten what it's called), and toothpaste varies widely in its abrasive content.
Can you glue sandpaper to new braking pads to rectify/resurface brake discs/rotors? eventually the sandpaper will disappear so every time you put new brake pads you have a super smooth surface?
int he first to say to make a marble rotors and rear drums from marble counter tops....it very hard and heat resistance good looking And another idea test sand in stock , aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and wood brake drums to see the damages results made from the shop...

Definitely try with snail creme, (or snail extract) as a replacement for the bearings grease to see if the car goes slower :D

I think toothpaste has so many other things in it acting as lubricants it really leans more toward just being lube. A paste of water and sodium bicarbonate slathered onto the rotors instead might be more accurate for "abrasives"

Check their other videos for the Sandpaper and Grinding Stones test. Not the same, as they didnt actually drive the car. But the effects on the rotors are interesting to compare.

My guess is the toothpaste grit is acting like tiny rocks under tires, for the pads to brake rotor contact causing tons of slippage

This is all fun. but the only way to test it correctly, would be to put on the stuff, brake. then clean all the parts, and do a second brake-test. then you have to replace all parts before testing the effects of a different stuff to put on. It will also be expensive. Anything you lube the brake parts will only lube them, not help them.

I pour Listerine into my radiator and use dental floss as a serpentine belt
Try making pads out of grinding stone and glue it to metal base so it won’t break

Replacing the brake bads with some wood that has screws that poke through and contact the rotors would be "interesting"

Try new 0W20 oil in old Mosvich engine and measure oil pressure and watch how engine works at different temperatures.

Peugeot tried that for F1 in the 1990's and couldn't make it work effectively.
