This would seem like a pretty curious wheel experiment.

I can see someone doing this and getting pulled over for tires sticking out beyond the fenders. *Hold on officer let me get my wrench and fix it real quick. LOL!
Who ever has been choosing the music recently is doing a fantastic job.
I miss the phonk
Another awesome upload from Garage 54.
And thank you BMI Russian for the voice over and translation.
My 1975 allis chalmers tractor already has this option!!
No, it doesn't. This is completely different than the entire suspension widening.
@@HU1212ICAN3 Have you not seen adjustable rims on old tractors? It's a real thing lol.
Another crazy idea that i could never have imagined!
Those are some nice tires. I think they look the best all the way out. You guys do the best experiments and I never miss an episode.
I'd love to have a Lada like you guys play with imported into the US. Those little square boxy cars have a lot of potential in my eyes.
😢i would like 1 in holland
@@engineprojects go to Baltic states and get 1 :D
@@raimundasgriciunas3981 Yeah so easy
There is a guy with a ballistic Lada I watched last year! It was such an awesome car. Scary fast
Make a railway-car conversion like specialised rail trucks have, where it has both wheels for the road AND wheels for railway. I know there are a lot of disused rail tracks in Russia to test it on.
G'day Garage54 & BMI,
Thanks for another AWESOME! video that was WHEELIE CRAAAAAZY!
This was such a good idea. I always enjoy your videos. The videos are always fun to watch
Need to do all four wheels see how it handles. Or four truck wheels would be good.
It won't clear the front hub, and even if, 1/3rd of a turn later and your brake lines are gonna get sliced off.
Your ideas are awesome! Thank you for good real entertaining and learning. ☀️
another clever idea from you guys, not sure how safe at high speed. good work putting this together. you guys rock keep up the good work kudos from texas.
Another awesome build you guys have cooked up. It's amazing how that doesn't come apart. Anyway definitely cool. 👍👍
This should be the start of a series of videos on A million way to die in a car Crash. I would love to see these rims on the high way.
This comment- i'm dead.
Awesome concept and execution.
Wouldn't be surprised if we see something like this at Sema this year.
This guys have some crazy experiments!👋🤣👍and we love it!!
You guys should screen print your posters onto shirts and other merch 👌
You need to have holes with welded nuts so it can't slide while driving. Also for fun see if you can balance wheel
Solid!
Top KEK!
Peace be with you.
Very cool. I'd like to see you guys modify a lada so that the chassis and body can slide independently of each other while incorporating a counter weight system to slide the weight of the vehicle to the inside of a corner whilst driving. Always wondered how effective this would be to improve speed through corners. Kind of like how a motorcyclist uses his body weight.
Thanks for posting all these video's to utube. i try not to miss them. I want a Lada...but not the rust. I want to put 60 lbs. of boost into one!
The true definition of split rims lol. Love the idea of these.
this would be a great tool for test fitting. If there would be some measure to know how much offset it is.
This is addictive viewing you don't know what they come up with until the next episode
Could make little teeth for the extension plates like a closed end wrench so you can adjust the slides but the will lock in place, so then don't slide back in at higher speed corners
next update, add motors in the wheel for extending and pulling back the wheels by pressing some button in the car
7:06 makes the lada look so much better....just with wheels
What about if it were threaded, if one can imagine the center hub as a bolt, and the rim as a nut, which would screw inwards or outwards, with locking pin holes drilled for the 3 positions.
That's how some tractor wheels adjust
I love this channel
Cool invention, customize the wheels..cool🎉
Haha Victor wants to get as much distance between himself and the car without being rude LMAO.
Suggestion. There are.adjustable tractor Wheels with an adjustment that works like a screw thread pitch so it can be moved out with the motor torque once loosened. I think it would be cool to see a wheel that would expand out under acceleration and retract in while braking.
Next time try to put 2/3 brake disck to every wheel. it will stop better? or it will only slide further?
Hey! I got it!! Have you guys ever mounted dualies on a Lada?? you know, like a semi truck??
Seen this before on tractors so you can adjust the offsets depending on your fields row widths
I doubt tractors do variable track width by modifying the offset between the tire seat and wheel webbing. If all you want is to vary the stance width, the simplest method would be to use telescopic axles and a hydraulic cylinder to set the stick-out length.
Seen this on a New Holland 8560 in a brochure
@@teardowndan5364
You've never see it before I take it? Many older ones have the webbing move relative the the tire, exactly wha you suggested they didnt.
Some larger tractors have hydraulics that move the entire suspension in and out.
Others have a really long axle that you can attach the wheel where ever you want on the axle.
I wonder what would happen if u would put a shop vac on the exhaust call it scavenging in a vacum haha more powah baby😂😂
this could be useful to experiment on how handling changes with offset if you put them on the front
Creative
If you guys decided to make this type of wheel a commercial product you'd need atlest two locks to ensure the wheel cannot change position on its own or loosen. The offsets would need clear markings so anyone adjusting them won't have one further than the other etc. plus severe durability testing can the mounts withstand highway speeds and rough roads including potholes etc without bending or breaking
Umm, no. That's why you can buy other wheels with different offset.
The things these guys do, is often stupid, and you never should try this at home.
Because it's a Russian channel originally, they don't have disclaimers.
And by the way, fuck Putin.
Haha... Good stuff guys!
Garage54, make 300mm adjustment range!
You should make a set like some farm tractors have called spin outs it's kind of like a very large screw
Can u make the offset change while the car is moving? Like a spiral!!
You guys are Incredible engineers... Damm
I know you guys do unusual mechanical experiments, but I was wondering. Does Russia have any engine shops that build high performance and racing engines?
When is the invisible brakes episode?
This thing might not cut up my rear brake lines, but up front it would be an excellent boot - that would all push up right against my hub lmao.
Put some spacers to reduce rubbing, take it to a tire shop in town and ask for them to check the balance. What will be the reaction of the tire shop guy?
Willing to bet my life savings if you get those Wheels to 100 kph they would probably vibrate the vehicle into pieces if not pull you completely off the road. Of course you won't feel any vibration at 45 kph but at highway speeds with zero balancing and clearly misaligned pieces of extra metal it will shake like hell!
It will cause radical tire wear & or cut the tire open
The tractor wheels have a screw type of adjustment and that might work better. Not sure though. Thanks
Y'know, someone could patent this idea.
How far can you drive on wheels with no lug nuts?
BIG probs for BMI Russian for doing all those many fugin voiceovers for those videos so that we not russian speakers can wittness and understand to what this crazy russian vlad is up to in his shop
I don't know if you have tried this, but mount the wheels using a lot of magnets.
They did try it, look up on the channel, it was a good laugh. Also magnetic suspension and stuff.
Can you displace the whole engine around the whole car ?
So every part of the engine is somewhere else ?
weird how it seems to improve grip overall even in turns?
Now put an electric clutch with a big servo and the switch on the shifter
Why not put 5 nuts on the outside of the rim with all thread welded to them so you can adjust them from the front like a bench vise
I just realized he looks like Dr Evil 😈
Only way you'd see any difference is to take it to a dry track and compare the handling differences.
Way back in the 70s a lot of people that had VW Beetles used to mount their wheels reversed thinking the wider stance would help handling. It just looked goofy.
You guys should slap a turbo or two on one of those ladas and see how much boost they can handle before it explodes
Let's go!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Well, that's one way to de-rust the arches, or remove the filler & newspaper someone applied at the very least... :P
See how wide of wheel spacers you can drive on.
I was certain that was going to go a box of chocolates - but it was fine - 107%
what happen if you put the engine in the back
Make portal gear reduction rims.
Nice
I thought for sure they were going to let the. Slide in and out freely while driving
This is how Russians do the deep dish steel rims
This looks like a ricers project 😆
Kamchatka , da 👍
Cool
I all of a sudden want to play fr racer while listening to Russian phonk
Create a suspension system Citroen 2cv It could be the best
Love garage 54....and America loves Putin . . ......you guys are awesome
They should have been used on the front wheels.
: )
I think this is cool idea, but I would have done 5 tabs not just 3?
A fresh Lada to torture
Its like an older tracter that had adjustable wheel width. NEAT!!
I have a request to tune a car 2 step or pops and bangs if it is possible
vibration starts at 90kmh
How to ruin your wheel bearings, FASTER.
The amount of experiment you guys do, I think helps OEM manufacturer a lot. Best of luck
pfft, you think too highly of OEM's. They want to flip a profit and have "sustainable income", not innovate.
People with the DIY mindset are the ones making interesting things happen, not so much the OEM brands. Plus people get creative with DIY type scenarios.
@@TheSilverShadow17 real people do real things. corporations are parasites, they just know to bleed you dry.
nice perfect 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
how about building a wheel like a Truck has in the rear ^
Nokia mainittu, Moskovassa tavataan.
You should have welded side supports to the slides ( making them look pyramid shaped ). It would greatly improve resistance to lateral loads.
I don't understand why you would email the posters what if someone doesn't have a good printer to print it. Not only that someone can screenshot the posters and crop it and print without paying. You guys need to consider printing them yourselves then shipping them.
Yes thats better option. I bet many wont buy pictures from posters. I imagine part of the problem is that they are from Russia. I dont know how much sending them to USA or other countries costs.
Library's have cheap good printers
You can just email it to a local office shop or print works and get it printed up on whatever size and quality surface you want for cheaper than shipping from sanctioned Russia.
The shipping would be ridiculously expensive these days. I'm assuming they've given up on physical merchandise. Paying $20 for a poster is fine but no one wants to pay $45 just for shipping. Digital is the only realistically option.
I got them they are great , buy a quality printer. Don’t blame them. You guys are cheap.
Have a look at PAVT tractor wheels same concept for moving tractor wheels in and out
gg
Well typical boys stuff, however in real speeds and use those will break a part for sure.
Y
love the creativity but oh boy the welding quality sucks.
I don’t think it’s a repair garage. It’s a production team. Anyone that can make beautiful welds will of course go make $150/hr somewhere not dependent on views for revenue
I've been saying ths years ago but gave up - none of the stuff they build gets reused (really rarely) - it's just a proof of concept, and once you realize that, you'll live longer ;)
@@the_kombinator it doesnt matter. im not talking about the builds but the welds.
its safety wise for themself and others.
born and raised on the country and im all in for creative fixes and makeshift repairs. use whatever you have avaliable. as 10 yold kids we could do better welds that that on rusty metal caked in mud. even at low rpm things coming apart can do alot of dmg.
@@MrLarsgren Safety wise? hahahah
@@MrLarsgren rusty metal with caked mud makes better weld !?? 😂😂 i'll believe it when i'll see it... keep in mind they build stuff for experiments, and it did not break so it was good enough for what they needed
