  • After the announcement that Wells Fargo employees secretly opened millions of phony bank and credit card accounts without customers’ permission, Sen. Sherrod Brown called for immediate hearings to investigate the scandal’s impact and determine whether new consumer protections are needed. At today’s hearing, Sen. Brown - ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee - questioned Wells Fargo CEO and Chair John G. Stumpf on what went wrong, who is responsible, how to fix it, and how to prevent such fraud in the future.
In total, Wells Fargo may have opened as many as 1.5 million unauthorized deposit accounts costing customers approximately $2 million in fees and more than 560,000 unauthorized credit card accounts resulting in more than $400,000 in fees to customers.
Sen. Brown is committed to protecting consumers and will continue working to ensure that affected Wells Fargo customers are reimbursed and their credit is restored.

Remember this next time you hear businesses saying they need less regulations, less controls and to generally trust the markets. Markets don't self-regulate. Companies aren't trustworthy. They must be policed like the general population.

Wonderful drama and theater! At the time of the 2008 bailout over 90% of local banks were solvent. Why? Because they had a relationship to their customer base and knew them! What made the 2008 bailout possible? The 1999 failure of William Jefferson Clinton to veto the repeal of Glass-Steagall. Glass and Steagall were the younger sons of their families who saw that banks had no backbone and dream of a return of the monarchy. They still don't have a backbone and what Ayn Rand calls "accomplishment without plunder". Look at Bank of American that said to Paulson that "We don't need the money we're solvent," but were "forced" to take it to buy out Merrill Lynch (Pierce Fenner and Smith) with the Pierce being the family of Barbara Pierce Bush. Please!1999 opened the door to the Bush, Jr. bamzoozlers and they were all splitting the sheets like the commercial and investment bankers. Now we are mired in our Presidential politics in what is essentially two New Yorkers replicating Tammany Hall.Wells Fargo is just the beginning and the revolution IS coming. Go listen to Morgan Reynolds who resigned as Bush' s Chief Economist.

I was scammed and cheated by Wells Fargo in a completely different way,
the common problem is that they politely make excuses, deny responsibility, and will not get any resolution from or with the bank company even if you file complaints or attempt to use the mediation process, because their people or people who are paid by Wells Fargo make the decisions and excuses. And so you have to waste time and more money with lawyers and the legal system or connect with political authority 🤔
(please connect me with the people who can help)
Which makes me wonder if some of the people going crazy are dealing with similar people and problems 🤔 😕 🙄

The justice system is the "tip of the iceberg." It's the corruption and duplicity, not just in one system. A few months ago I bought some fertilizer, it was filled with gravel. I'm sure this wasn't just one bag it was probably thousands, maybe more, who knows. We are dealing with wholesale theft, liars, scalawags of every stripe and variety. It's "catch me if you can" except they aren't pickpockets or sneak thieves. They are huge intertwined, international corporate interests, the media, medicine, the government, the legal system, and on and on. Does anyone pay you to track your behavior on the net? Hell no, but they are profiting from it believe me. They want to know everything you buy, use, make, do, sell, you name it. That way they can sell you more sh*t and make you dependent upon them. Get it!

Welcome to the New World Order.
After Hillary is crowned, we all better get used to it, cause it's here to stay.
Too bad our fathers didn't beat the Nazis instead of just the Germans. Instead we brought them over here to set up shop.

Are you implying that you are left-handed unlike your right-handed brother Charlie? If you are and it checks out, you are statistically more likely to be POTUS. I'd love to see you on the 2024 ticket. Booker-Brown. Though I'd have no qualms about Booker-Klobuchar.
