But let's be real here, Trump lost, Trump knows he lost, Vance knows he lost, and yet they are setting the precedent that no court ruling or common sense can prevail and that the truth doesn't matter so long as they unabashedly deny it endlessly. Truly shameful and dangerous. Speaks to a rotten core that's power hungry above all else. So ffs please don't get fooled into thinking there are "good guys" here!!

      I was not a fan of this guy a month ago, he just gave me bad vibes but the more I listen to him speak he sounds completely reasonable, articulate and a good person. I don't agree with him on everything politically but the way he as been described is completely off base. I wish the media would show who and how he really is, I don't really like Kamala(I can't even really say that b/c I don't really know who she is and what she stands for to be honest), not a big fan of Trump and is style but I really like this guy. You ask him a question and not only does he answer but he'll answer and try to explain exactly what he means and why he feels that way, he seems more interested in helping you understand what he believes instead of just trying to say what you want to hear to get your vote.

      Even better question is will they abide by the result of the 2024 election and the answer is always dependent on if they win or not. Republican policies are not popular or democratic and as people utilize technology to learn more about the world, the right realizes they have to cheat otherwise they will be no longer in power after this election. Go ahead and try to say democratic policies aren't popular but the reason the democratic party was formed was a opposition to the owning class, so yes they are objectively more popular policies because the are more in touch with the actual civilians not monied interests.

      @@NicholasWongCQVance has basically blamed the media for an unfair portrayal of tRump. I guess it's unfair to report on tRumps many crazy/stupid statements and many crimes. Vance's former statements included tRump as "America's Hitler", "Trump makes people I care about afraid.", "moral disaster", and “reprehensible.” He agreed Trump was a “total fraud”. Since then tRump continued to speak of jailing his political opponents, attempted a coup with fake electors, suggested using disinfectants internally in the human body to cure Covid , has been found liable for sexual assault , had his company found guilty of criminal tax fraud, has been found guilty of all 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election. That's only a few highlights of tRump's behavior that confirm JD's former statements. Vance needed tRump's endorsement his senate race, and got it after he kissed tRump's ass. “J.D. is kissing my ass he wants my support so bad,” Trump said on stage to publicly humiliate Vance (kind of sounds like the act of a “reprehensible" man). tRump needs a VP that will do what ever he needs legal or not. Vance proved himself a spineless, power hungry little servant. Before 2016 Vance thought like the vast majority that tRump would be an ugly historical footnote . After 2016 he realized tRump was path to power. Vance has stated he is willing to "create stories" to get media attention. Vance has 0 integrity (the same as tRump). He will say whatever needs to say to get what he wants. Honest people have no room to backpedal to stating someone is a great leader when they formerly referred to someone as "America's Hitler" even before they attempt a coup. To call Vance's incredible flip-flop an "evolution" is beyond delusional. tRump cultist speak of tRump derangement syndrome. That is the epitome of projection.

      I think it's just economics when you have a shortage of labor, an aging population, and a lowering birthrate, you really have one likely solution for that problem. I'll give you a hint. Starts with an I.
      But I'll let you use your big brain to figure the rest of the answer out.

    • @zargal-n5n
      @zargal-n5n 2 месяца назад +77

      @@Neptune_p_g Well I think I just have a normal sized brain but thanks for the kind compliment! I know you're strawmanning the GOP on immigration, but they just want people coming in who are vetted, will contribute and who have shown respect for the country by entering through the proper process.
      Economics doesn't really enter my point (I suspect businesses will cope but whatever), because you *could* justify all sorts of horrible things (eg child labour, serfdom, no environmental/safety regs) through economic arguments, something that the left usually would stand against, as they should. It's only in this instance that morals become less important than economics. There's probably a conversation to be had on how to fix the problem (Vance says there are millions of disengaged workers, I honestly don't know) but the solution can't be to abandon the principle of paying legal workers fairly just because it's inconvenient.
      Edit: And to your point about declining birth rate: you're correct that it's a huge problem. But you're incorrect that immigration is the only solution, at least in the long term. You could try, and this is what Vance tries to expound sometimes too abrasively, to actually raise birthrates. Lowering (not banning) abortion rates, encouraging families to have children and similar things should be a second part of the answer. Immigration has other benefits (diversity of ideas etc) so it will always have a place but it's the second best option for maintaining a work force.

    • @Neptune_p_g
      @Neptune_p_g 2 месяца назад +2

      @zargal-n5n You’re right about wanting vetted, legal immigrants, but it's important to remember that unauthorized immigrants make up only about 23-24% of the total immigrant population. The majority of immigrants are already here legally, contributing to the economy and society.
      Blocking immigration isn't the answer. The data supports the fact that pathways to citizenship-like DACA and other reforms-work. Expanding these pathways would reduce the number of unauthorized immigrants and bring more people into the system legally, while still maintaining the principles of fairness and opportunity.
      It's not about sacrificing morals for economics-it's about creating real solutions that acknowledge both the economic need and the fact that most immigrants are already following the rules.

    Independent here. 21 minutes into the interview now. I think my major issue with this structure and the questions-however well constructed they are to really dig into the mainstream political questions surrounding Vance-is that I really don't see any other politician, whether it be Kamala or Tim Walz, receiving this kind of treatment. 60 minutes was badly chopped, hard to watch, and I STILL didn't gain much from Kamala's answers. I'd actually like it if all politicians were interviewed like this, all the time. That's just not happening.
    What's amazing me is how welcoming JD Vance is being in answering these questions regarding the violation of his privacy from Sofia Nelson and his faith(the bit about not speaking for Christians/Catholics is SO refreshing, I tire of celebrity converts suddenly representing the whole), in spite of the Interviewer not really establishing empathy, grace, or even an actual conversational tone. This feels clinical to me, like the interviewer can't believe a politician could change their mind about anything-certainly not Trump! Or could have a positive view of transgender people as a whole, but find the prospect of ill-studied, prepubescent, chemical treatment appalling.
    I'll finish the interview purely because I feel like I'm ACTUALLY learning more about JD Vance here, and I'd love if other politicians welcomed this format. He must be the best actor out of Trump, Tim, and Kamala because nobody else has managed to convey themselves to me as well.
    Edit: Still going through the interview. Now she's just straight up challenging every assertion, it feels like, and interrupting him while doing so. Love the challenging, hate the interruptions. I just clicked out of a KH and Howard Stern interview where its obnoxiously one-sided. Again, the pushback is just not proportional.

      Absolutely! It's such a red herring. All that's needed is a timeline upon which construction companies are forced to hire American labor. And way before the terminal date, you have a massive PSA campaign and provide targeted assistance to people who might have to move or get retrained. The whole point is that it will never happen unless we try. If we sent 10% fewer able bodied men & women who have an aptitude for hands on work, we'd have more than enough people. And having a national e-verify law with real teach coupled with the right level of LEGAL immigration based on merit / skill would transform our economy. Will it cause inflation. Sure, maybe, but companies in many cases have significant profit margin that they can take on the added labor cost just like exporters & importers can & will do if you raise tariffs by reasonable amounts.

    Vance is a very intelligent, well spoken young man with strong values. People keep bringing up statements he previously made about President Trump as if his change of heart discredits him. On the contrary Mr. Vance is doing what the vast majority of politicians fail to: admitting he was wrong.

      God you people are stupid. You are literally worshipping a self-serving political snake who went from calling Trump Hitler to refusing (on a weekly basis) to say he would concede an election if Trump loses. You are truly an enemy of America and democracy if you support this idiot.

      How dare she show contempt for all of those courageous americans fighting to preserve democracy by overthrowing the government on Jan 6th? /s JD handled himself very well and answered the questions well on the whole, but his failure to admit at the end when asked directly that Trump lost the election is in itself fueling conspiracies and he is anti-democratic and anti-american for making these comments.
