This is the type of leader America needs to see imo, someone whose own story can serve as an inspiration to others who might be in a similar situation.
Spot on. For anyone to say he's weird is a joke. There are millions of people, who had the same childhood he had. He proves, that with hard work, and a little help, you can do anything. God bless JD Vance, and Donald Trump for picking him. He will make a great 48!

I can relate to JD.... A LOT! Grew up very much below middle class. A mom who struggles and continues to struggle with alcohol. Having maybe 5 sets of clothes tops to wear to school. Domestic abuse issues. Somehow I learned from it and went the opposite direction to be fairly successful in life. It can be done. Its not easy but it can be done.

His answer got me very emotional ..I've been very cold and angry about my mother some years now...but he got me to actually remember who my mom was..I had truly forgotten, it was so long ago.
“The American people deserve to know that President Trump asked me to put him over my oath to the Constitution," said former Vice President Mike Pence. "Anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.”

Yeah she probably can't do any interview like this because her parents were smart enough to not get addicted to pills and beat their family up every weekend. What's her problem?
Instead of minimizing or hiding his family’s struggles with addiction like most politicians would, he brought it out into the open and showed us he had problems like the rest of us. Bless his mom for staying sober and seeing her son come this far in life despite where he started from
This is why I love JD Vance and find that he is very genuine @ 1:50 - 2:20 he admits he was frustrated with his mom during her recovery. As someone who has been in the depths of abuse, I’ll tell you for certain your loved ones, by the time YOU yourself have finally had enough and want to get sober, you look at it as a great thing, however your loved ones have lived with a monster (a monster they love, but still an addictive personality monster) for a long time and they are tired and frustrated with you. This is 💯 true… you can’t blame them. That Mr Vance didn’t sugar coat that part, I respect.
It seems sort of bully childish that they just decided to call him weird & then made a bunch of weird memes about him. Sometimes I attribute some of his super intellegence to being a little autistic and his sense of humor tends to be a little stiff. But overall he has spent at least his first 22 years of his life struggling more than the average American....poverty, addiction, being raised by grandma, questioning religion and coming back to it, etc. I like to think he can relate to us...and hopefully he doesn't look at us and think, I made it out, why can't you. But I suspect he still has enough ties to his humble beginnings that he sees how hard it is to just survive, let alone excel.
As a child, he put people into 3 categories. Victim, bad guys, the strong. Sheep, Wolf, Sheep dog. He didn't realize he set a pattern recognition in the back of his mind that set his entire life on a certain trajectory. People go their entire lives without realizing the importance of seeing people as one of those three.. Great interview!!! ❤❤
Hadn’t really heard him speak much but Theo having him on his podcast really let me connect with him. He really just seems like a genuine guy and if you don’t like him he’s fine with that because he knows he’s true to himself and that’s what matters to him.
Vance is very relatable to most Americans. We've all gone through something or seen it first hand. I think he would be an excellent VP and future President.
Don't get resentful. What great advice. Both of my parents were alcoholics and drug addicts and we're never able to get over it before they passed. but I am so glad I never held it against them and had the best relationship we could. I'm a better person for it and have no regrets. Unlike my siblings who were very resentful and are still bitter and unhappy to this day.
I can’t express how much podcasts interviewing politicians this year has changed my mind on so many levels . Listening to these people speak freely and answer interesting hard questions has opened my eyes. This is the way to really understand who these people are.
Love how Theo steers the conversation back into the light, stopping & looking for the up-side when it gets dark. positive waves, love wins, look for the helpers.

@@RealRUclips33 Intelligence accompanies humor. You just don't get to be low IQ and funny in a way where people aren't laughing at you, but with you. In simpler words, humor is a great sign of intelligence.
Despite how crazy it is now the fact that long form conversations like this have become part of electoral politics is a very positive development that will change things.
I couldn't agree more. I think the "60 minutes" interviews are over. You get to know the person this way. The person doing the interview is much less hostile if they're going to be talking to them for a while. There's no trying to get that gotcha clip to go viral.
Wow, I had no idea we had such similar experiences growing up. He spoke so intelligently about the struggle of his childhood. I think he even changed a bit how I see my own now. Seems like a great man.
Love this. I put my wife and kids through misery. 20 months sober and friends with bill W. I couldn’t imagine my life going any other way now. God is Great!
Being the child of an alcoholic is awful. I’m glad JD came through this so well and I’m glad he went to meetings to understand his mom better. My dad was a mean alcoholic. I got married at 16. Went through 4 more after that. Didn’t use drugs but would binge drink occasionally, especially during my time in the Army. Finally, after I became a grandma at 46, I started serious therapy. I am doing well. My oldest grandkids are in college, and the youngest is a star baseball player in school. If I hadn’t gotten help, and let go of my hate for my dad, and let compassion in, I wouldn’t be here with those amazing kids.
During my master’s program, I had to attend AA meetings for observation. I think it's important to highlight how welcoming the members were. Even though I wasn’t there as an addict, they made me feel included in everything, even asking for my thoughts on various questions. I truly felt like part of their family. So if you're feeling nervous about attending with a family member or friend, don't be. This group is one of the most accepting you'll ever meet.
I love watching this two wonderful men having a deep conversation and having a lot of fun at the same time. This is truly wise. They are my generation, they just made me proud and happy. Much Love and God bless.

Theo chillin with JD. The something so relaxing about JD's voice. It's soothing. Reassuring.
That was my first thought about him. Such a comfortable and familiar voice, tone and speech cadence.
He is a good man. There is nothing better than that.
JD Vance is the real deal.
@@BANDIT2DAY no, not even close. In your reality as well as in mine, he's nothing but another lying politician. He might be less-shitty. But nobody running for any public office is worth a wet fart. Less-shitty.
I'm not even from the states and this guy is blowing me away with just how real and down to earth he is, completely unscripted completely natural . Seems like a rock solid salt of the Earth type person to me.
Vance's story is very inspiring!! He's a really good dude and I think he will make a great VP!!
Admire JD for his love for his Mom, she s a blessed woman… so happy for her recovery!
It takes a strong person to kick drugs or alcohol .....I always admire anyone who has this victory. Congratulations ❤❤❤❤
What a treat for us! Theo has a beguiling way about him. It’s like we are sitting fireside watching him speak to a friend.
"PHD doesnt even spell anything" LMAOOO Theo is built different lmaoo
Pile it higher and deeper.
Lmaooooooo
😂
Whew this is def a tear jerker. Theo, I’ve always thought you were a rad dude and it’s so awesome to see you be so open about your own struggles and it’s also encouraging to see J.D share this vulnerable emotional side of his struggles too.
Great interview. Raising the bar for healthy masculinity by being willing to be so real, even with the vulnerable stuff. Awesome ❤
I can relate in almost every way to Vance, so it's amazing to have someone so relatable standing up for us
Definitely!
How the F is Theo the best interviewer right now? Wild world!
He's real able to "disarm" people, he has this ability or aura to make people open up.
Cos he's awesomeness 🤗🤗🤗🤗
My boy THEO has really become a top competitor !!! I've always liked him and his way of looking at things
Some comedians have high IQs to be great. Not the woke pandering ones.
Growth. Theo has his own thing. No one else like him.
Thanks be to God.
Its like a conversation in a bar. Sometimes I'm like.....I can't believe Theo just asked that. He tends to get a bit personal.
He’s got my vote.
7:37 “The Marine Corps was the original Ozempic...” 🤣👊💪
Brozempic!
@@obcane3072😂👍
loved how that made Vance crack up
The future looks bright. Thank you and God bless you Vice President JD Vance 🙌🏾🙏🏾❤️
Theo Von is deceptively smart--his wit derives from a keen intellect. ❤
He’s a good son didn’t turn his back on his mother. He’s a good human ❤
Unlike that scumbag Eminem.
Wow man. What an exceptional interview.
We will be in good hands the next four years and hopefully beyond.
Pure class, JD will make one of the best presidents America has ever had. A keeper if there ever was one. Outstanding Theo. Stay well.
Love JD he’s real and been through tough times and look at him. His truly an inspiration
I love watching this two wonderful men having a deep conversation and having a lot of fun at the same time. This is truly wise. They are my generation, they just made me proud and happy. Much Love and God bless.
Vance is most down to earth that's been through it all and he can relate to all lower class people and other classes!
I appreciate the real conversation on both sides. God bless you
I’m from the UK and reading that book. It’s fantastic!!
Real guy who has been some serious shit. Respect.
J.D. is so down to earth, he could've easily given up on his future but he powered through, I respect that!
It’s very nice to hear people talk openly about this subject. Especially from whom it’s coming from!
God bless you JD and your mom - thank you Theo…. 12 Step Programs are one of the most American things on this earth….. God blessed this nation with these programs…. Thank you Bill W and Dr. Bob
