    As someone who just acquired a predator blower and plans on installing it on their ‘18 GT, your videos have made me confident that I can make it happen. However I’d love to see a video that goes into a bit more detail about certain aspects of the swap. Such as what did you do with the map sensor, how you spliced in the IAT harness, if you capped off any of the ports just aft of the throttle body, and where would you recommend tapping in for boost reference

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  Год назад +2

      Glad I could help! I left all the factory sensors in the blower where I could. The front map sensor can be left or plugged, the rear map sensor is where I put my IAT2 sensor and VMP makes a splitter harness to add in with no wiring.

I know with Gen3 coyotes it's gonna take some doing. just trying to figure out everything needed yah know. Another question. as it pertains to fueling I know I need the voltage booster for the fuel pump, and the fuel pressure regulators as you mentioned, do I have to use port injection rails (came with the blower) and the DI rails simultaneously or will the stock DI rails suffice standalone? Your videos have helped a lot in getting my setup going and now I’ve been messaging Lund back and forth about tuning my set up. Pretty much same as yours, oem hellcat throttle body , iat break out harness, Vmp fuel rails with oem gt500 52lb injectors, ZL1 fuel pump etc.. they are saying the hellcat throttle body is a tuning nightmare and won’t touch it with that on it, and I need a elderbrock 103mm 2015-17 mustang throttle body.. bigger injectors and would have to run 100 octane or e85. Any thoughts?

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  Год назад +1

      I’ve had several vehicles tuned by Lund and I won’t go back to them again, but they’re probably right. The tb tuning is very tricky and takes a lot of work to figure out so it’s not surprising that they don’t want to. But I have figured out that JMS makes a throttlemax to convert the signal to that of a 15-17 GT signal which should take the headache out of it but I haven’t tried it yet. But I definitely would recommend a bigger pump and minimum 1000cc injectors and E85 if it’s available by you!

    First off, thanks for the videos. Great content!
    I’m building a bumpside truck right now with a Gen 1 engine in it. My blower will arrive tomorrow. I have a sanden style AC compressor with an 8 rib clutch that came with my AC stuff. I would prefer to run the stock diameter VMP/ ATI 8 rib. So beyond that, do I need the predator front cover( FMS-M-6059-M50SC ) and the boomerang, or just a boomerang? And obviously a belt. But other than that, am I good to go on drive parts?

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  10 месяцев назад

      According to VMP the boomerang bracket won’t work with the predator timing cover so I would recommend using the stock GT cover! That’s going to be a very wicked build though, let me know how it turns out and if you have any more questions!

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  7 месяцев назад +1

      Well my cost vs. your cost is going to be mildly different. I picked the blower up cheap and VMP sponsored some of the parts as well. It also depends on if it’s in a swap car or if you’re running AC. To duplicate my exact set up with the supporting fuel system and blower drive you’d have roughly $3200 invested there but it all depends on how picky you are and what you’re willing to forego

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  5 месяцев назад +2

      In my opinion, these set ups don’t need a crank support mainly because this uses all OEM parts. Or at least OEM geometry. Ford torture test this set up in the worst conditions and used it for one of the greatest mustangs of all time. The GT500 obviously uses the inner shiv of the balancer where as the Whipple uses the outer shiv with puts a lot more strain on the snout of the crank because it’s applying more force at a point further out effectively giving the force a longer lever.
      As for reliability, as long as you have a good tune on a stock-ish pulley size along with OPGs and CS then I wouldn’t worry about it even the least little bit!

      After having a chance to look into it, you’re definitely right! I’ve been looking at the online parts houses and everyone lists the BR3Z as the correct number. However, I know that the part number prefix for GT500 specific parts is KR3Z, and the base part number for a coolant outlet is the 18663 and A will always be the first iteration of a part. Unfortunately it seems like the days of finding them “cheap” are over. Ford issued a price increase and now they’re pretty expensive.

      Not quite. I know there is a difference but not exactly sure what. Your best bet would be to get ahold of them. I know they don’t list the boomerang bracket on its own.

      Not yet, it is running obviously, but I still need to redo the rest of the fuel system before I can really let it eat because my fuel system isn't even close to having enough flow lol
