    I have Gen 1 heads and a 2022 GT500 blower, I had to cut off the dowels, but I didn't have to drill for the fuel rail bolts. It already had the bolts with it and they thread right into the heads with no issues. I replaced by cam cap bolts and luckily I saved the old ones because they are the perfect size to use to mount the blower. I'm probably going to run the full Predator FEAD on mine so I'll have an 8 rib belt on the blower. I believe I'll have less than $5K into the entire setup.

    • @OrlandoMustangResto
      @OrlandoMustangResto  4 месяца назад

      Some GT500 Predator Superchargers have the four holes predrilled and some do not, mine did not. Those cam cap bolts should not be reused as most of the factory bolts on the engine are torque to yield bolts and are a one time use only. I have first hand watched torque to yield bolts snap when reused. The VMP Predator FEAD is a 6 rib kit and you will have to upgrade all of the pulleys and tensioner to run an 8 rib.

      @@OrlandoMustangResto I might get some new bolts soon. Oreilly's has the right size/grade bolts for about $10 for all 6. I was going to re-use the ones I have but IDK. Technically they're torqued to barely 8ft/lbs from the factory so they can't possibly be stretched, but I'm paranoid.

      @@Lilljoescratch You can - but generally, aftermarket throttle bodies do not have as good driveability as the factory OEM throttle body. Also, you would maybe gain 5hp so no real gain to chase. All tuners always recommend stock OEM Ford throttle body.

    Pretty cool. What would you say it cost you all said and done. I can easily do all the work myself so just curious on cost of parts. Im debating of doing an ess kit or if i can actually save a good amount of money i may do this ony gen 2

    • @OrlandoMustangResto
      @OrlandoMustangResto  9 месяцев назад

      Depends how you want to use and drive the car. An ESS kit is not the same style supercharger as this and the power curves on a dyno look different. I would choose a TVS style blower like this Predator again because it gives a much more consistent low end torque that carries all the way through where an ESS is great for only mid 4,500+ rpm. The Predator swap all depends on how cheap you buy the blower and right now they are the cheapest 2650 TVS for sale on the market so yes it’s worth it esp if you are handy and can do everything yourself like I did also. Shelby American (aka Shelby Auctions) sells them directly on eBay for really cheap!

    • @OrlandoMustangResto

      I’d say it all depends on how cheap you buy the blower as that’s really the most expensive part to the conversion. Shelby American on eBay (shelbyauctions) sells these blowers from take off gt500’s for dirt cheap and when I got mine from them it was in almost brand new condition.

    What method did you use to clearance the intake flanges on gen2 heads?

    • @OrlandoMustangResto
      @OrlandoMustangResto  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, You have to cut the intake flange off to allow the blower to sit down in the valley. I used moving blankets to cover everything and 3M auto paint tape over the intake ports and took a cutting wheel on a grinder and cut about 1/4" off of the edge of the cylinder heads where the intake sits down on (similar to how Gen 1 heads look).

    Is the 5.2 predator balancer required?
    Why did you go with that over stock?

    • @OrlandoMustangResto
      @OrlandoMustangResto  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there, the Predator balancer is not required. I only picked it because I would like to upgrade one day to an 8 rib drive setup and the other alternative rear 8 rib balancers were more expensive at the time I built the motor. If you are staying with the 6/6 rib Coyote balancer, I would use an ATI 11-14 or 15-17 Coyote balancer and not the stock ford balancer.
