Very true. And if you think about it other internet ways were used by William's group like hacking CCTV to locate Emma. They were 'let in'. I'll bet they used other ways to cause further chaos too through cell phones, laptops, Alexia etc.
I believe Apollo was able to arrive at the island because he tied the string around his finger. It was something the other guy didn't have on his many attempts.
While I have no idea what’s going on and don’t have any of the answers; it’s hard to miss that there are a lot of intentional parallels between the parents and Apollo and Emma.
@@YesHelloNoBye That’s one of the aspects that feel like it’s mirrored for both the parents and the leads. Emma’s mum and dad, Apollo’s mum and dad, Emma and Apollo all feel ‘not of this world’ at times.
After that beating am convinced William is a fairy! Remember that scene of something in the water going towards the city? When william says he was up and down the river trying to find the island makes me think that was him. And he only rented the boat because of Apollo. Its obvious he knew what to expect when he allowed Apollo alone to step out of the bushes and watched as he was attacked. The string is what i think allowed Apollo to see the island because maybe it was protected by a spell that hides it from outsiders & fairies. The same way it creates the illusion of the doll talking maybe it opened Apollo's eyes the see through the illusion/spell that was cast over the island. Also when Apollo told Emma's sister that he didn't even get to hear her third wish and her sister replied "i must tell u that it wasn't supposed to be this way" makes me think she was in on everything from the beginning. Am thinking Apollo is the only one clueless as to what is really happening but is way more connected and mite even be at the center of it all. It also stud out to me how they could hardly keep him down when they attacked him and made me think about why Emma was given a chain to tie him up...could Apollo actually be a god or some powerful witch/fairy 🤔🤔🤔
Did you notice that Apollo never ended up drowning while his head was forced underwater? The scene changed from night to the sun rising, and when he was faced down during the night, he went "dormant", but as the sun appeared Apollo rose from the water. Maybe he is the Real God, Apollo.
I did notice it was actually day when he rose from the water and if indeed he was there all night he should have been dead 🤔 there is indeed something special about him and that's why William sought him out. Even though William is a lier I do believe he found out about Apollo and what happened on the train and knew exactly what was happening and who Apollo was and decided to use him to find the wise ones. I think Apollo is in the middle of a war between witches and fairies and William is a fairy. No way dude gets up from that skull cracking blow 😒
Also, Emma appears to have the power of suggestion. This can be seen during her interaction with the homeless man. It can also be seen when she and her father share a moment before he walks back into the burning house as she intensely watches.
@@patrickfalls6819I noticed that as well as mentioned to my girlfriend that it seemed like Apollo died when they put his head in the water since it became day time immediately
I definitely don’t think William is human. When he yells out while Apollo and Cal are speaking, it just sounded off. Then the beating not phasing him was super weird. But then that gets contradicted bc he did have a wife named Gretta that the women know so idk but he’s definitely involved in some kind of supernatural/mystical stuff. The ladies mention Emma was a pain in the neck and say why wouldn’t the husband be also, so was Emma not trying to completely accept what was going on? Or since her and the washer women swapped bodies, she was just different/more powerful than them? Also I think the fact that Gretta killed one child and left with the other hints at the possibility that one child can be “real” while the other cannot. Or Apollo had a younger sister that was ‘sacrificed’ by the mom in order for Apollo’s mom to have the ‘real’ Apollo or him in general. Then maybe Brian found out what she did or caught her in the middle of it, and they got into a fight rather than him just abusing her. Also let’s say Apollo was once taken by the fairies but retrieved by his sister being sacrificed, this gives him a type of power. Hence why he could access the island. This could also explain why his mom lied, so Apollo wouldn’t seek out his father for answers and her secrets get dug up. Lastly I wonder if the father that went there with the guns & rage that Cal brings up, will have any further significance to the story.
Yeah and remember when Patrice said “who the hell still drinks tab” and William said in the car “yeah I’m old don’t pay me any mind” makes me think he is differently from a wayyyy older time.
The most interesting part of this episode for me is the comment William makes in passing, hardly noticeable, around min22. He says, "I can't tell a lie" in reference to his ability to drive the boat. Isn't it accepted wisdom that fairies/fae can't outright lie? They can speak vague truths, but cannot lie outright. Later, in the cell, he mentions he has been on boats since he was a baby and "sailing is in his blood." So, I guess the next sleuthing step for me here is--- did William ever actually lie, or only commit several vague, linguistic deceptions? Unrelated, is there also something about the glasses... why tie up both screentime and dialogue with his glasses? Some other fairie lore there as well? [Resturant bread] = Free [Water for wife on subway] = Free hmm...
Also-- this is way more left-field-- but why have a scene where Apollo pays for the midwife services? I am, by no means, a farie lore expert, but 100% due to this show, I looked up a "basic farie lore" article on google. It seems like there is a lot to do with being offered food items by fairies. So, Emma/Emmy's friend pays for an expensive dinner (which Apollo is concerned about and eats only bread.) Later, he pays for her services. She says, "It wasn't supposed to turn out like this." Again, something to do with farie mythology?
Thanks for doing these videos! And agreed, Apple be dropping the best sci-fi shows lately! Between this, silo, severance, foundation, calls, and invasion! Also, thanks for not wasting time on doing a recap and just going straight to the point!
i have to be honest, I thought Patrice was a figment of Apollo's imagination for a moment. I know he isn't but there is something weird about their relationship.
I think that William is most likely the stalker bc he was sending the same cryptic things via ‘unknown number’ to Apollo. The fact that he is an IT guy suggests that he could hack in their iCloud to delete the messages + pictures. I also think he reveled on the fact that the white woman who also received pictures, is going crazy; he took a video of her and says: “bad habit” also alluding to the fact that he takes pictures of the women a lot
1. William was Emmas stalker sending her the photos, it makes sense considering he texted Apollo "Anyonmously" and has the IT background to unsend any messages. 2. William is absolutely a fairy. He stated he is Norwegian. Pay attention to after he is beat up Apollo specifically says "How are you not dead?" that was not added to the dialogue for no reason. Then he jumped up after like nothing was wrong, this is because he is not human and is a fairy. 3. There is something about Apollo. 1.. his name being Apollo named after the greek GOD. 2, the fact that he was drowning and it was night but when he came to and rose was daylight is not something we should ignore. 4. Im wondering if there is a theme in the show where there are pairs of children, siblings, and one is swapped out or taken or something along those lines. Apollo's dad is white so he can very well be a direct descendant of the Norwegians. Then when his dad visits in his dreams he appears supernatural and says "You're coming with me" and all the smoke appears. Why was he so in pursuit of Apollos mother, maybe he knew she was a sorceress. Her brother died and it's almost like a sacrifice, like there is something going on with pairs of children. Maybe she had 2 children, Apollo had a sibling and we just dont know. As already determined, his memories are not reliable. Maybe the sibling was a troll and Apollo's mom killed the baby and put it in the suitcase at the bottom of the river. 5. Red seems to be an important and recurring theme in the show. The red string, the red suitcase, red the color of blood the color of love, no easter egg here but it seems like we should be paying attention to it. Especially any characters dressed in all red. The apartment door where Apollo lived was bright red as well. 6. I am wondering if Emma is a sorceress or has the ability to be commanding.. If you notice the scene where her parents committed suicide, it was almost as if she whispered to her dad to go in and get her mother, he stared her in the eyes then went in the house. The same thing happened at the opening scene in the library where the homeless man came in yelling and she focused her eyes on him then he calmed down and agreed to leave his bags to go to the bathroom. A Norwegian photographer taking a photo of Emma and her staring directly into the camera with those same eyes, that has some significance. There is something about her that was always destined to happen before the baby was even created, so considering Apollo and Emma's baby may be an illusion either the Norwegian photographer or the person in Norway who purchased the photo are responsible for the illusions creation. Her friend in the screen at the restaurant said Emma looked into the camera like a sorceress. 7. Apollos mom knows more than she is eluding to. In episode 2 the beginning scene she asks where are they baptizing the baby. Emma asks why and what the baby is at risk for and the mom says "The dark creatures of the wild" then Apollo says "Thank you" and his mom says "You are thanking me for a gift" maybe she has the original baby and swaped him out to protect him?

I am deeply disappointed as I enjoy your channel and your commentary is usually entertaining, but why you choose to make such a remark truly disturbs me. Please be careful next time you think of making such “jokes”, and I would also like to add that there are plenty of celebrities, past and present, black and white, that you could of referenced as being violent, but you choose instead to bring up something that happened well over 10 years ago-and what did that have to do with this video? Again, I am extremely disappointed.

Maybe Apollo’s mom killed his dad that’s why she has the bruise in the luggage. She’s going to get rid of evidence.? I don’t know! I love this series!
Grimoire?
I think it was Apollo ! Or apollos changing .
You are mistaken Leto is the mother of apollo and his sister artemis.
I think it's dead husband?
What what the joke William made to Apollo and Patrice when they were getting on the boat a reference to?
It’s from the 1970s comedy “Airplane!”
@@jamesgoward5687 Thank You. I knew I heard it before but for some reason I thought it was from Raiders of The Lost Ark when Indy was in the sea plane.
Not Donnatella using Glamour
Or maybe she was dating by Chad Wheeler which would be a better reference
No Chris Brown jokes.
All y’all have to do is go the the book if you want to know what happens lol. 💯
This series is just about accurate to the book with the details. “The Changeling”
-by Victor LaValle
William is a fairy that is on a mission to retrieve the babies saved by the witches. William identified Brian, stalked him, and stoled him.
She probably tried to end Apollo
👍
I got no reasoning on why, but my theory this show is going to turn into something about mental illness and the magic" is not real.( im going into completely blind, no synopsis or book reading)
Is this series good plz someone help ????
It's decent so far episode 4 was a little better. The mystery and the psychology makes me keep watching the series.
Same and the acting is good
No. Snooze fest. Boring and confusing. These recaps are better than the show.
@@peridotrideauxonly if you are dense in the head
The first three episodes are good do far. This 4th one waa boring and kind if all over the place.
Is the baby alive somewhere? The real baby?
Thanks brother but I think using Chris brown as a face of abuse even now, it’s not cool bro.
Williams is Apollo father and the show is called the changeling cause witches are considered skin walkers
William maybe Apollo’s dad
I love the show, but don’t get anything about it
.
Im starting to slowly get annoyed with this show. I feel like it had so much potential but this episode was so boring and the acting was so cringe i think im gonna divest
You can’t. Only 2 more episodes left. You’re pretty much invested at this point.
@@Viable7 im so frustrated with this episode though🤣😭
Man! Thank you. As soon as I finished I'm like this episode is trash. The first three episodes were really good. But I'll be patient.
Exactly like we need fucking answers at some point 😮💨
first lmao
At the exact moment you made a disgusting joke regarding Chris brown and DV, I immediately thumbs down the video, which is something I never do.
I agree, I thought that domestic violence joke was in really bad taste.
