VIDEO INFORMATION
Episode 5 of The Changeling, y’all better be giving me some answers soon, because we got portals, witches, and whatever the heck this dude is now… But no worries because we’re going to get into all of that, things you missed, hidden meanings, and of course some crazy theories about what is happening and what's to come.
I’m JBuck, Welcome to JBuck Studios. Thank you so much for stopping by, please click that Like button and subscribe as it really helps out the channel, and allows us to keep making these videos. Enough of the blah blah blah, let’s get into episode 5 of The Changeling
So Apollo is without doubt in a fairytale at this point. The island, witches, whatever creature William is, and the core key to all of it, is the “To the Wilds and Wind” book his father read to him as a child. Heck maybe Brain West had his own fairytale dealings and this caused him to disappear, but at this point yeah Apollo is dealing with other worldly elements.
Cal has kind of informed him, he’s going to have to make some sacrifices to find Emma, but I’m convinced something even greater is at play…. Apollo is an actual God, shrouded by glamor magic Cal brought up glam or glamor magic last week, which is essentially casting an illusion, but the truth lies underneath a fake mask. Prime examples of this are the island, comparing it to Themyscira, baby Brian showing itself as a changeling, which was horrifying, and even William’s true identity at the end of this episode. But Apollo has glamor cast on his person, hiding his true identity of Greek God Apollo, the God of the Sun.
There’s a couple quotes and events that reinforce this theory, one is Cal claiming no one short of a God could find the island they were hiding on. Two is Apollo being beaten almost to death by Emma in episode 3, only to quickly recover and continue his search. I also read of a face scarring in regards to Apollo in a few mythology sources, which is represented on Apollo’s cheek. Lastly, with him being the God of the sun, he seems to burst with life and energy after being drowned in episode 4, once the sun rises, and I’m assuming he’s fueled with power, similar to how Superman would be by the Earth’s sun. Apollo is an actual God, so I guess now all of his nonsensical yelling can uhhh kind of be forgiven

That’s exactly what is about
Bill is a troll from Norway and some are not nice. See here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll
Emma’s 3rd wish could have been a life like a fairy tale. This is what I’m guessing because her wish might have came true literally
I think the old lady at the beginning of the story has to play more into this somehow too. Lillian's brother and that whole scene makes me wonder the purpose of showing that. Just like that beginning shot of the ship. Pieces to the puzzle.
Well Brian bit the ish out of Emma, so it’s possible Apollo’s mom went to battle with a changeling to get him in that red case.
I’m obsessed with this show!
At this point something big has gotta happen right? It feels like this week and last week were ramping up to something
Me too and its only 3 episodes left 😢, wonder if it's going to be a 2nd season??? I guess it depends how this season ends
@@junaicoach I have a feeling they may make a season 2. There was a recent video of the author and some set designers, and they mention "season 1" when talking about stuff. Sooooo maybe?!🤞
Your not alone !
Same
What is interesting is the last name of the photographer & art gallery owner - Knudsen. "Knud" means "Knot" in Norwegian which she has tied around her wrist. If you pause the video at 4:11 when the art gallery owner is staring at the painting look closely at his glasses, you see a reflection of Emma and it almost looks as if there are some evil eyes staring closely at him. Unless that is either his true face in the reflection in the glasses OR a reflection of what truly posses Emma. Baby Brian is alive, Emma says in one of the earlier episodes "The baby dies - I die". The fact she is still alive represents that Brian is out there somewhere and she is probably searching for him. Also, the photo on Williams photo eludes to him not being who he says he is. He always he's on glasses but does not have them on in the photo and is looking straight into the camera. In the famous words of the girl on the plane.. "The mother*cker right there is not real!"
Loving this show. The way they unfold the plot means I can’t look away at my phone at all.
I was watching Hellboy, and in the movie the fairies switched out their baby for a changeling. So I feel like the baby was really taken by fairies and Emma is out there looking for her actual baby.
Great pull! I think you're on the right track and we're going to hopefully see that soon
Best theory I’ve read yet ❤
that's what i was thinking!
@@JBuckStudios can’t believe we were right, just as many other fans with the same theory felt 🙌🏼
I was disappointed to see the photo of Emma. I wish they made the sorceress look more obvious - like blacking out her pupils or something.
Exactly! It just a risqué photo, right?
Emma is not a sorceress you are misinterpreting the photo. Emma wanted to take a nude photo put did not want to reveal everything, so her hair is covering her breast, and her hand is covering her private parts. If her third wish was to be a sorceress, how could she look like one before her wishes were granted?
They did build it up really big lol
Disappointed I felt like it was very unsettling again we don’t really know what this wishes for but it’s still disturbing
@@mikejones-wy5hvyou haven’t been paying attention clearly because they make a big point that she’s “looking at the camera like a sorceress”
yeah cooking the baby with water from a tea kettle and eating the organs is crazy... those chatroom posts was telling gems
William’s mannerism were similar to Brian’s when he came to the door
They might be related
Definitely a running motif here of that vivid deep blue color whenever something ‘otherworldly’ is being shown. Anyone else notice?
Another channel said that blue is associated with the faeries and red is associated with the witches
Ok I’m check you out. I was able to pickup a little different perspective, cause I’m obviously obsessed & combing RUclips on perspectives & breakdowns. 👍🏽 so you got a new ☝🏽 follower 😂
Anyone else notice the distorted blurred faces behind Emma in almost every shot of hwr in this episode. Has it been in all the episodes?
Wait... WHHHHAAAATTTT?
Thought on that little girl who so reminded me of Emma and Apollo also says that, did she come back as a changeling so confused
I agree with you, I truly hope that they pull a lot of answers in the last three episodes.
William is definitely a changeling 😶
Emma’s pose was a baphomet pose also
This is a really awesome breakdown!
Appreciate it! The show is getting WEIRD
Loving this show
It’s got a LOT of twists and deep lore/references to dissect
I suspect Emma’s 3rd wish was either ‘to be powerful’ or ‘to be found’ & taking that naked self-portrait ((staring straight into the lense as she does)) encompasses both.
1:57 just one thing to interject if we’re going with your Glamour theory on Apollo being an actual God it doesn’t really work the same for gods as it would for fairies or witches I don’t think you’re using the right term here and given that he was already born to possibly human parents at least until one of them either got swapped or something along those lines I do believe that there’s no way on earth that God would just glamorize them selves considering don’t give me wrong I do think they have the ability to manipulate and use illusions but in terms of what the garden question where going by I think it would make more sense is if he basically sent down an avatar to investigate one who’s pretty much human but takes on the aspects of said God while at the same time living life as a regular human being because as if we were to say he was glamorized and that means everything including his life was an entire lie that he believed and so did everybody else around him which makes no sense considering that means he would’ve had to believe his own allusion given that he’s the one who created it and I don’t think for one second that a witch in a changeling would not have known at some point how special their child really is plus it be funny to think a Greek god just pretending to be a child and he’s just already the size of a fully grown man about 7 feet to be exact being picked up by another fully grown man to be taken into the bathroom and have blue smoke dust it all over his face so again I don’t think he’s glamorize more or less probably a avatar sent down to the world of man to investigate and the best way to do that is to live life as a human
In the book, William is a troll and kidnapped Brian. Also I think the washerwoman is a Nokken. In Germanic folklore Nokken are shapeshifting water spirits or mermaids. The name derives from Common Germanic meaning ("to wash"). I wonder if the boat at in the first episode was saved by a Nokken and what is the connection to the washerwoman. Don't forget the sea creature approaching New York and swam under that bridge which may be a portal or a gateway and maybe Emma used it to find her real son.
I think this is a spoiler, and you should delete the first sentence of your post.
@@214Beans Thanks for telling me it's a spoiler - so is the book! Idiot!

I definitely said William was a killer.
Didn't trust william he a liar and troll they have alot trolls in Norway
This show reminds me of American gods
Jared my guy
Ayyyyyyyeeeee
So william is a Damn troll
I feel like William may be Puck.
Puck??
@@JBuckStudios in Greek mythology puck is a malicious fairy or demon. But if you remember from gargoyles he was a changeling or trickster
i make pee
Nope wrong ... sorry
Dang… I tried
