Theres a religion, Jainism, where followers refrain from eating garlic, or anything else that grows under the earth, such as potatoes or sweet potatoes or radishes. Its always surprising to me how they're able to get adequate nutrition, as so much of my diet consists of these vegetables, but also, I can't imagine going a whole lifetime without having garlic or onion breath.

I would disagree with your closing statement of this video being "not the most educational". It not only shows what ingredients I could think about adding to my diet, but also how I would be able to do that. You provide all this beautiful information about singular ingredients and I tend to struggle to connect them into something I can eat routinely. Giving insight in how you yourself go about it with some of these ingredients helps me a lot with that.

I just wanted to say that your videos have really helped me on my body health journey. In September of 2022, I made a conscious decision, under doctor's supervision, to lose weight, retain muscle, lower cholesterol and triglycerides. I have used your tier lists in making a much healthier approach to food choices, and as a result, I've gone from 118 kg to 89kg in just over a year - 23 kg of that being fat loss, and my muscle mass is still at the top of the range for my age and height.
This all comes down to food choices. The major things I've done have been focusing on protein, vitamins, and fiber in the mornings (blueberries with plain yogurt and walnuts being my favorite breakfast), switching my starchy grains to whole grains - especially going strictly to brown rice/GABA blends, and allowing myself protein/fiber snacks.
Top three foods I've added this year? GABA rice, fava beans, and ginger.
Also, thank you so much. I know these videos are a lot of work, but they are having a direct impact on my health and my life, and I'm sure they're helping many other people, as well.

Very healthy and super tasty depending on the brand. I like the small ones in olive oil.

Loved your videos this year! I feel the tortilla's so hard, it's just too convenient to be able to wrap up whatever shape, viscosity, or flavor palette of food in a wrap so it's neat and compact. I'd be interested for your take on a tier list of the gourmet mushrooms becoming more popular recently; I've been growing Lion's Mane and Blue Oysters at my apartment for a while now and would be interested to see how they compare to Portabello's or others

I started including a lot of green beans in my diet these pass few months. I also started to include more onions in basically EVERY food I'm making, including stir fries, beans, rice and beans, cornmeal, etc.

I liked this video. Your previous videos were valuable sources of information and a good way to compare food articles. And I watched several of them.
I did skip through some clips, and others i only watched partly.
This video however had a personal touch where I got insight into your personal choices and why you chose that way.
It's easy to make a diet plan that is decently balanced when you have all the datapoints. But it's not so easy to follow it for months on end. This clip lets me observe you on the same path.

I started cooking for myself this year, and imagine my surprise when 8 of the 10 things on this list have been staples for me. Broccoli + Carrot + whatever mixed with pasta is a hit (Internet Shaquille has a great video on it), and Tortillas are such a convenient carb to have in the pantry, and such tasty one too.
Guess shrimp and tangerines are gonna be on my "start liking" list for 2024.

Green tea is actually really tasty, it just depends where you get it. Stores are not tasty, but in my country we have lots of stores with actual tea, sold in dried leaves, and those are the best. And so many flavours, and yes, they are natural

Hi! I just really wanted to thank you for your videos. Today was a stressful day at at work. So, as per usual, at the evening, i went in a shop craving for a dessert. Quite often, I'd take a cake or a pack of something covered in chocolate. But today i glanced at a kiwi and remembered that you've put in the highest tier. So I've bought kiwi and strawberry and treated myself with a fruit salad! And it made me so happy! Not only as a sugar boost, but as a heathy choice I've made for my wellbeing. Hope it becomes a habit. Maybe it's silly, yet you're actually inspiring me. So thank you 🙏

My favorite recent food addition is tempeh. Being a pescatarian who doesn't really like to cook, it can be really challenging to consistently make healthy meals with variety. Tempeh has been a massive boost. With a meaty but versatile texture and flavor, it's so much easier to make a compelling stir-fry or rice dish with cubed tempeh to tie it together.

Love the videos, very interesting and useful. Trying to cut down a lot on processed foods this year but have felt bored eating a lot of the same things. Your videos have helped bring variety to my diet and taught me a lot about micronutrients, which I've never really paid any attention to. All that said, I still base most of my diet based on what's most affordable, so I've been eating a ton of broccoli, bananas, chicken, rice, garlic/onions, sweet potatoes, etc. It would be cool to see a video from you on Top 10 Healthy Foods You Can Buy on a Budget, or something along those lines.

Interesting video, I started expanding my cooking a lot more this year as well. I got some good tips out of it, I will start eating almonds and oranges for breakfast for the skin benefits. I noticed you didn't mention much for soup; one of my favorite new dishes is chicken mushroom barley stew. Some garlic, leek, carrot, tons of mushroom, with barley and chicken breast, its so good. Another thing I started making much more has been pasta, since I am trying to gain weight. I have been underweight my whole life so I'd love tips for weight gain, which is something no one ever talks about. It seems hard eat for weight gain while also eating clean, especially for someone that struggles with skin health.

Your channel is helping heal my perception of food. Whenever I try to eat healthy, I get very restrictive in thinking that most foods have nothing to offer but the "evil calories". I'd restrict to "Superfoods only". When you said shrimp, it blew my mind. Would you condiser doing a video on spices?

Thank you for the insight on tangerines, which should have been an obvious choice for me, but something I just never thought about. A tasty little orange that's maybe a little sassier in flavor, easier to peel, and less likely to leave me with a little bit I don't feel like eating. Less waste, less effort, maybe more fun to try something kinda new but kinda old and familiar. I'll pick some up tomorrow when I make a run to the store.
