@christopher lopez, I've had the whole El Mocambo show on DVD for a long time. My oldest son is 34 now and I was the one who turned him onto SRV years ago when he was still a teenager. The first time he ever sat down and watched Stevie do Texas Flood with me from that same show, he looked at me with his mouth hanging open and his jaw on the floor and said I didn't know it was even possible to be that great with a guitar, LOL. These kids today, they may have the digital age, but those of us who grew up in the classic rock era will always have the best music!
I think it was BB King that said Stevie Ray was the "whitest black man" he'd ever heard😊🎶🎶🎶 People always said that his guitar needed a cigarette after Stevie was done!!❤😎 RIP Stevie!!🎶💙
"Texas Flood at El Mocambo", "Look At Little Sister featuring Jeff Healey" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb" are all good ones. Y'all are about to go down one heck of a rabbit hole.
He started playing in clubs in Dallas when he was 14. He is the G.O.A.T. So glad you have discovered this rabbit hole. Enjoy because you won't be disappointed.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Stevie Ray Vaughan if you like this you should check out Texas Flood live at El Macombo or little wing also at El Macombo or life without you and ain’t gonna give up on love both live at the Capital Theater or Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland either one I promise you will not be disappointed
This is nothing compared to what he can do. Trust me, check out SRV "Texas Flood" live at El Mocambo. Here because of Upchurch; coming back for other awesome reactions.
"Nothing"...? Woodo child and Little Wing are his strongest numbers, in my book. I especially enjoy that he never plays them the same way, and sometimes touches jazz idioms. His improvisational concert in a jazz club in Finland are among my favourites (despite him being a little drunk or stoned or whatever).
My all-time favorite blues guitarist! He makes it look so easy yet sounds so incredible. It's like he's playing rhythm and lead guitar at the same time!
That's because he does play both rhythm and lead guitar at the same time...does it all the time!! Simply an amazing artist! He always takes me on a journey with his playing.
SRV was a freaking wizard. There's a reason every great blues artist of the day wanted to collaborate with him....and many did. Check out his blues stuff, it will blow you away. 'Tin Pan Alley', 'Texas Flood', 'Lenny'....the list goes on.
He was from another world and blessed to see him 3 times live including the night before he passed away and he had such a spiritual presence that I really can't put into words. Undeniable
If you don't do Stevie Ray Vaughn - Texas Flood (Live at the El Mocambo) then you're going to regret it for the rest of your lives. The most amazing guitar performance I've ever witnessed!
I was 3 when SRV died, I remember crying when I found out. My dad played him all the time growing up so he's by far a favorite of mine. We ended up playing "Life without you" by SRV at my dad's funeral. It's beautiful and definitely one to check out if you ended up liking SRV.
Hand it to his band, Double Trouble, they held it down! The Bassist and Drummer are phenomenal as well! Stevie always gave mad credit to his band. The Bassist held down the groove, rhythm and melody when Stevie went off. Bassists and Drummers need some credit as well. Nice reaction. You guys have my subscription! Mad love from Ponte Vedra, Florida! Peace!
Saw him in Sacramento CA...81? Was listening to him when all my friend were who the hell is Stevie Ray Vaughan in the 70's...my sister called me from MI, to let me know when he died, I cried like a baby, he didn't get real popular until mid 80's? And was never, well, super popular....then...he played Voodoo Child at end of his concert, best concert ever, place was humming, and at one point, you could hear a pin drop, everyone so blown away...
I've been a musician since 1977 and have heard all of the greats. Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, etc. They're all insanely talented. But, in my opinion, I do not know of anyone who can do with a guitar (or any other instrument) what he can do or utterly dominate any instrument to the level that he does a with guitar. In terms of the great drummers, singers, groups, etc. where it's so hard to separate one from the pack, to me, Stevie is on a totally different level than his peers. Again, no other guitarist can do the total combination of things he can do at the highest level possible (emotion, speed, technical ability, never plays the same song the same way twice, can make the guitar sound any way he wants to convey his musical interpretation, never been able to read music, can even play like a total beast literally behind his back, ect., etc., etc.). No one has that combination. Not even close. The music just flows from him. Some great videos to get a good feel of his level of talent that would be great to see you react to would be a version of "Voodoo Child" at a Nashville concert in 1983 ruclips.net/video/pe3G7p1Z-xU/видео.html . Three other songs from probably the best concert he ever performed at a music venue in Toronto called El Mocambo also in 1983 - "Little Wing" (another Jimi cover) ruclips.net/video/i6G53BMgugo/видео.html , "Texas Flood" (Stevie original) ruclips.net/video/KC5H9P4F5Uk/видео.html , and "Lenny" (Stevie original, a song he wrote for his wife) ruclips.net/video/i5sqJNFFwqc/видео.html . You did an incredible job in this reaction and I really look forward to seeing Stevie reactions to these other song. God bless!
No body can bend those 13 gauge strings like Stevie Ray Vaughan . You need to check out his song Crossfire & Texas Flood live . Then you need to check out Jeff Healey's song As The Years Go Passing By & Lost In Your Eyes & keep in mind when you watch Jeff Healey . When Jeff Healey was 8 months old , he lost his eyesight to cancer . RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jeff Healey .
I was lucky enough to live in the same area as Stevie and I got to see him perform live on many occasions. He made it all look so effortless! I literally cried my eyes out the night he was killed. At the time, I was a 26-year-old 6'2" former football player!
I'm old enough to have been around for the duration of SRVs career. I have been a huge fan for many, many years. You two are in for a beautiful treat going down this rabbit hole and I envy your virgin souls! I can only settle for experiencing it vicariously through you. ENJOY!
And that was live. I saw him in concert in 84. 1st artist I saw that was more amazing live than on cd. On cd..that tells you how old I am. Gone way too soon!
Good review gang! SRV is a rare person. He is extremely talented and knows the principles of practice. Once you have mastered yourself. Then you can master the world
Side note: y'all really oughtta check out his cover of "Little Wing", which is an absolutely incredible display of why he's considered the greatest guitarist to ever walk this planet...AND, @2:54 in this vid, that "wah-wah" pedal he's steppin on, yeah that used to belong to and was used on stage, by one of his idols who's also the writer of this song, and that would be one Jimi Hendrix....true story...
SRV is believed by many to be the absolute G.O.A.T.! To see another view of just how deep and broad his chops really were, look up "Riviera Paradise". One of the most beautiful guitar performances by anyone ever.
Hey you guys are amazing so inspirational I love your channel love your reactions keep pushing.. Stevie Ray is one of the all-time greats we miss him dearly ♥️👍👍
The GOAT!!! He's a Legend in Dallas Texas where he lived!! Gone way too soon!! When y'all get a chance watch the documentary on him and his brother Jimmy he plays guitar also. It's a really good documentary. I learned so much about him. So humble. And B.B. King and Albert King loved him and he loved them to. RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan 💕🎸🔥🔥
Fantastic as always with SRV 🥰 people hardly even notice when he flicks the gain on the guitar it’s SO FAST!!!! Let alone anything else he does lol...I was amazed I’d missed it til recently 😂🤘🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️mind blowing talent Stevie...WE MISS YOU!! ☹️
Can anyone imagine what music would have been made by these two great guitarists if their lives weren't cut short??? In my opinion < Stevie took what Jimi left and improved it. But to hear each of them is a dream!!!!! Jimi was a god for his time on earth!!!!
Yeah, I was one of the the lucky ones to have seen Stevie Ray Vaughan, three times... the first time was in 1980 in a college town of Oskosh, Wisconsin in a small bar .. we had been playing some pool for a while and a band was getting ready to play so, we decided to sit down at the table right in front of the stage and check them out and he was going by just, Stevie Ray and after the first song we were blown away and I told my girlfriend “Man, this dude is bad ass on the guitar” by the time he was into his second song the place was crazy!! By, the third song he handed me his guitar pick and order us all a round of what ever we were drinking When the show finally ended about 1 in the morning and because we were right in front of him we got to shake hands and i got the chance to say, “Man, that some awesome guitar playing, I mean really, damm” and he told me, “thank you, brother I hope you enjoyed it” my response, “No, man thank you, really” and from that time forward, he would go on to play on David Bowie’s album and played the lead on “Let’s Dance” he was indeed In my mind a truly gifted soul and the best guitarist, I have ever seen since!! “Rest In Peace, Stevie”
Nothing compares to Stevie Ray Vaughan! For another epic and smooth AF guitar song and solo try Steve Vai “Tender Surrender” live version...the one with all the views and reactions. You will not be disappointed. Cheers!
Man you guys are awesome! Best react video channel ever! Love how you play the whole song through. Got a lotta suggestions but reciprocating the love you share. Stay jammin friends!
Yea, now that's what I'm talking about! Your reactions were awesome & I thank You for that! Keep doing what it is that you're doing and watch your Subs grow! I've got a couple if SRV suggestions here: "Texas Flood (Live at the Macombo)," "Little Wing," "Life Without You," "Rude Mood," "Crossfire," "Leave My Little Girl Alone," "Life By the Drop," "Riviera Paradise," to name a few. Keep Smiling...
S&M!! I'm a Texas girl born and raised. You've got to react to Tin Pan Alley featuring Johnny Copeland. SRV is the GOAT when it comes to the guitar 🎸. You won't regret it. Also Texas Flood live at the El Mocambo. RIP SRV 💗
When he does that ..... it’s like a hurricane just blew through the room and after it was gone everyone is just left standing there like WTH WAS THAT ??? Lolol 😎
Yeah, now you have to check out his live performance of "Texas Flood". You will not regret it. Stevie Ray does something halfway through that you would have never expected is possible!
Great reaction!!!! Thank you so much. Stevie was my pal, and I know he can feel all of this love! I can’t wait to see your next SRV reaction. Try “Texas Flood” “Little Wong” and “Lenny” from Live at the El Macombo. For straight Blues, check out “Tin Pan Alley” with SRV featuring Johnny Copeland. Get READY!!!! Donna G ❤️
I was going to suggest "Lenny" from that show as well. That song and Riviera Paradise are two of the most beautiful songs he (or anyone else) ever did.
Stevie the GOAT on the guitar & Shawn & Mel the GOAT of reactors!
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (live at the El Mocambo). No one would ever believe the legend of this performance if it wasn’t recorded.
Facts
Exactly Right!
I saw SRV live several times. Saw him pull that trick. And every time I see that video, I almost still can't believe what I'm seeing
You are spot on. Future guitarists will look on in amazement any perhaps a little envy
"Texas Flood" Live...at El Mocambo.
Best performance by anyone. Ever!
Fact!
you're just saying that because it's true
Yes sir, Mr. Lopez 👍🏻
WORD!
SRV was the GOAT
And still IS the GOAT
Without question
Can I thumps this up twice?
I think it was BB King that said Stevie Ray was the "whitest black man" he'd ever heard😊🎶🎶🎶 People always said that his guitar needed a cigarette after Stevie was done!!❤😎 RIP Stevie!!🎶💙
"Texas Flood at El Mocambo", "Look At Little Sister featuring Jeff Healey" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb" are all good ones. Y'all are about to go down one heck of a rabbit hole.
Couldn’t agree more!
Yes texas flood
He was the GOAT sadly enough passed away in 1990 at the age of 35 on a helicopter crash.
In the dictionary under the definition of guitar hero, there's a picture of Stevie. We lost so so much when we lost him.
It is refreshing to see you appreciate SRV. This should be just the beginning of some "Amazing" music. 🙂
ALL of Stevie Ray Vaughan songs are excellent!!!!
SRV a Texas treasure..
The only one that could ever do Hendrix justice... R.I.P. Stevie
They're jamming at God's Amphitheater in Heaven!!
Jeff Beck will get them caught up on what's happening!!
PRIDE AND JOY
There is no other way to respond but Wow! the GOAT! SRV!!!
He started playing in clubs in Dallas when he was 14. He is the G.O.A.T. So glad you have discovered this rabbit hole. Enjoy because you won't be disappointed.

This is nothing compared to what he can do. Trust me, check out SRV "Texas Flood" live at El Mocambo. Here because of Upchurch; coming back for other awesome reactions.
THIS!!!
Yes!!
Facts!! He has a surprise for y’all in this one! 😂
@@herrbonk3635, "Voodoo Child" is a base-level song compared to "Texas Flood," no offense.
Big props to the drummer as well, he didn't go over Stevie but kept up and it was perfect
SRV was a freaking wizard. There's a reason every great blues artist of the day wanted to collaborate with him....and many did. Check out his blues stuff, it will blow you away. 'Tin Pan Alley', 'Texas Flood', 'Lenny'....the list goes on.
Watching SRV for the first time will blow your mind.
He was from another world and blessed to see him 3 times live including the night before he passed away and he had such a spiritual presence that I really can't put into words. Undeniable
I think we all had that open mouth shocked look on our face the first time we saw this performance
If you don't do Stevie Ray Vaughn - Texas Flood (Live at the El Mocambo) then you're going to regret it for the rest of your lives. The most amazing guitar performance I've ever witnessed!
Listening to my favorite guitarist and watching the lower right side of my screen bounce in rhythm. It's gonna be a good day....

I was going to suggest "Lenny" from that show as well. That song and Riviera Paradise are two of the most beautiful songs he (or anyone else) ever did.
