SRV 💜 is and always will be my favorite musician. This is a blistering rendition of VOODOO CHILD by SRV 💜. The unsung hero here is Double Trouble especially Chris Layton on drums.. Thank you for NOT making this about yourself but about STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN 💜.. And thank you for NOT interrupting with opinions. THANK YOU!!
This was a cover of a Jimi Hendrix song (another guitarist who died too young). Stevie Ray was a transcendent talent, able to make the guitar do whatever his soul told it to do. His single greatest performance (one that a lot of people react to) is Texas Flood (Live at El Mocambo). It's a song that needs to be heard to be believed, but it's also a performance that needs to be seen to be believed (no spoiler, but you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it),
I go back and forth between the el Mocambo Texas Flood and Little Wing. But SRV a SRV performance is like pizza. The worst pizza I ever ate was still wonderful.
Pretty Lady , your getting it. His music moved people. Stevie Ray played from his heart. That Strat was played like it owed him money. 😉 The Best , ever. Any of his songs are worth a listen. Let us know how you like them.
RIP SRV . GOAT with Jimi!!! Only SRV could perform this song in memory of Jimi. Best show ever, Bonnie Raitt, BB King and SRV!!!! Saw the man 5 times, I was blessed 😇
Stevie Ray is a legend. My parents took me to see him in 1988. He was phenomenal. I didn't know much about him before the show but have been a devoted fan since. Thanks for sharing. Much love and respect from Baltimore as always.
Hey sweetheart! I would be so honored of you would listen to my favorite Stevie Ray song. He wrote "LIFE WITHOUT YOU" (LIVE AT CAPITOL THEATER) for his good friend Charley Wirz who past away. Charley owned a guitar store in Dallas & worked on all of Stevie's guitars early on. The song is BEAUTIFUL, intimate, and passionate. Stevie even stops to talk to the audience. His "speech" is so INSPIRING! I won't say what, because I want you to be surprised, but the "tricks" Stevie Ray does will leave you speechless. There's no doubt who the greatest guitarist ever is. ❤❤❤ RIP SRV
My all time favourite SRV just a genius absolute genius , taken far to younghe just got clean from drink and drugs and his life was in a good place so very sad but thankfully we have his music. Such a great band the bass and drums just fantastic. What a great reaction baby girl made my day that beautiful smile and those moves absolutely wonderful reaction congratulations
Originally written and performed by Jimi Hendrix ("Voodoo Chile" was the original title). Hendrix and SRV were both monster talents that were lost way too soon.
There is a reason all of the great blues artists of the day wanted to collaborate with SRV. You will never find a greater guitarist. Absolutely wizard.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of if not _the_ greatest guitarist ever. Legend has it that he was working in a restaurant and was carrying the old grease outside when he spilled the bucket all over the place. He figured that there had to be a better way to make a living, so he picked up a guitar and taught himself how to play. He could create sounds and melodies never heard before or since because no one ever taught him that he couldn't. Welcome to the world of SRV and southern blues.
SRV is the greatest rock/blues guitarist who ever lived. You have scratched the surface with SRV's cover of Voodoo Child, a Jimi Hendrix composition. As with Jimi, SRV was quite the showman on stage and he had a big heart. All of this is on display over the course of 2 videos that I highly recommend. 1. Life Without You (Capitol Theater). SRV wrote this song. 2. Texas Flood live from El Macombo. This is a blues music standard covered by SRV.
I've been watching reaction videos of this version of Voodoo Child (slight return) for over an hour and haven't gotten tired of seeing the reaction of first time listeners. He was a once in a lifetime musician and an absolutely beautiful soul.
This was taped in Austin Texas at the Famed Venue "Austin City Limits".. Stevie Ray Vaughn and his Brother Jimmy Vaughn are both from Dallas, Texas in a Community known as Oak Cliff.. It's where I'm from too..We refer to it as Oak Cliff Texas !! Jimmy Vaughn has his own band Called the Fabulous Thunderbids, you should check out some of their music too !! Take Care Gorgeous 😘!!
I like when you said am I going to be blown away. Then you hear SRV's first few notes and you smile. SRV and Hendrix in my opinion were on another level of communication with their audiences. Check out Hendrix song Hear my train a comin.
Saw him playing on tour with Santana (1989 I believe). They were alternating opening and main acts, that night SRV opened, Carlos closed. SRV played for maybe 90 minutes, and then after Carlos had been on for an hour, he brought SRV back out to play a few songs. Absolutely incredible show.
I could watch your facial expressions to this song all day long. Absolutely priceless. This is SRV at his best. I could tell how much you were getting into it. Great reaction!!!!
I’ve seen a lot of smiles in my fifty some odd years on this planet and hers is one the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. As for SRV (may he and Jimmy R.I.P.), his cover is good, but Jimmy’s will always be the best. 🤘🏻🎸
You are absolutely right about the smile. Right about the talent of SRV. Debatable, but a good debate, about whose version is better. Incorrect about the spelling. It's Jimi Hendrix, not Jimmy or Hendricks.
I saw Stevie play in a small club in Ft Forth, Texas in 1985. I was in town for a scientific conference. Our table was literally 6 ft away from the small stage, and which was barely elevated. And there Stevie was - larger than life - so close I could see the sweat dripping down the side of his face. The intensity. The focus. But what I remember most was the absolute 'ferocity' of his playing. He played so muscularly, I thought he was going to snap the guitar in two. He did about a 15-minute version of Voodoo Child. What came out of his guitar was Stevie's pure raw - emotion. And the timing, tone, and inflection of the bass and drums was a perfect compliment to his playing Yes, the 'lines' were flowing that night (hey, it was the 80's), and we all went into a transcendent state. Starting at about the 5:00 mark- Morenikeji could do nothing but let go completely, and meld totally into the music. She got it! A beautiful thing for a beautiful lady. So that was the night Stevie blew the doors off the house (Caravan of Dreams). The ladies I remember were going absolutely crazy and some were magnetically drawn to Stevie. Collectively everyone's minds were blown. I remember the whole staff dancing and entranced... Now, 36 years later, when I play Stevie in my audio room on great gear, I go back to that night as if I'm a time traveler.
Jimi's version of this was an absolute MONSTER, a classic, an epic staple of blues/rock, and in between then and now, SRV was the ONLY other guitarist who could give it due grace.... Jimi would have been proud 💙💙
Now that you have lost your Vaughanginity, next should be his version of "Texas Flood" live at the El Mocambo!. You are not ready for this, BUT you will love it!
Trust that on any rainy day in Texas you'll find his rendition of Texas Flood playing on a radio station here. KISS back home would always play it. I only have vague memories of his death being announced on the local news but I didn't know who he was yet.
My favorite. You just keep getting more and more gorgeous everytime I see you. Not to mention your listening to one of the best guitarist ever... PS:😍😍😍😍😍😘 I love you
It’s an art when you can play on a guitar like him. I can see you like it also but you can not sitting still ! When I close my eyes I can also not sitting Still ! Love from Holland! 👏🙋🏼♂️😘👍😘
I'm almost 60 years old now. I was a bouncer for 20 years in my younger days and a Navy veteran. When they announced in August 1990 that Stevie had been killed in a helo crash, I literally dropped to my knees and cried. I often think and wonder what music we lost. Texas Flood, Crossfire, This House is a Rockin, etc. Take your pick, there is no wrong choice.
He was an amazing artist and he shredded that guitar. Also, have you done a reaction video to Neil Peart? He was the drummer for Rush and the best at it as well. Keep up the great work and happy belated birthday.
YES YOU ARE BEAUTIFULLY MADE. I just subscribed in response to your beautifully bright face and smile 😃 Wonderfully beautiful accent!! Equally as wonderfully beautiful???? Chris Cornell's - Nothing Compares To You. (Have a box of tissues ready) Chris was my inspiration, best friend and brother... Even though we'd never met. Miss you mannn.
Hi Morenikeji, loving your reaction as always! Good cover version by SRV, now check out the 1970 original by Jimi Hendrix which blew me away on first hearing it and still does ( especially with headphones on! )
So glad I got to see him live.
Goat of Electric Blues, hell the GOAT OF GUITARISTS! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loooooove your reactions to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Voodoo Chile. Fantastic.
Watched this soo many times ... still wondering where he got that extra pair of hands :-) What an ff'ing legend, miss you like crazy!
Greatest of all time babygirl ❤️❤️❤️

Genius guitar solo
What an "incredible" smile you have. Enjoyed your reaction. Happy Thanksgiving. Blessings.

Fun fact Stevie couldn't read music, this his music. That's why it's hard to create.
@@joeveliz7814 This Jimi Hendrix music he wrote, and performed it.He is the greatest
I go back and forth between the el Mocambo Texas Flood and Little Wing. But SRV a SRV performance is like pizza. The worst pizza I ever ate was still wonderful.
Come on man, the Life Without You stuff is off that charts....
❤️❤️❤️ SRV is My all time favorite. I just subscribed hoping for more. Texas Flood live from El Macombo is a Stevie Ray Vaughan must see!!!
Noted!😊
Agree. Must see
Agreed. If you liked this, you'll really like that one.
Also look at Riviera Paradise, Lenny and Chitlins Con Carne. 3 different slower songs but shows that SRV could do what ever he wanted with his guitar.
@@DavidSmith-tu1nd YESSSSS!!!!
It's rare when you get to witness complete and utter mastery of ones craft in this world.
Especially since Stevie was self taught.
SRV....One of the greatest of all time! Taken way to soon in life 😥😥. Love this reaction.
Pretty Lady , your getting it. His music moved people. Stevie Ray played from his heart. That Strat was played like it owed him money. 😉

SRV was just flat out AWESOME!
It makes me so happy to see you enjoy this legend of guitar playing…he was taken to soon from us all.

This is the 837th time I’ve watched a reaction to this performance. It never gets old! 🎸
I love the way you do reactions without interrupting the music , wish all the reacters would do that .
SRV was a gentle soul and a real gentleman... and what an amazing God given talent he had.
When Stevie was born the doctor said "It's a guitar player".
He didn’t lie!😂❤️
He came out strumming the umbilical cord lol
Originally written and performed by Jimi Hendrix ("Voodoo Chile" was the original title). Hendrix and SRV were both monster talents that were lost way too soon.
💔
We knew that one as "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)". The song , "Voodoo Child" is the slow blues jam with the organ on the same LP.
Great guitarist ! Love his voice !
Congrats on 39 k

It was kind of a lifechanging thing when I saw SRV live in Finland at The end of 80's

Yes my dear, don't be afraid. Just relax and enjoy.
I was a college radio blues DJ when he died. I announced it during my show, then played a ton of his records.
