GOOD VIDEO
I don't listen to death metal but damn do I respect the drummers. So good.
Not all of them
Your playing has gotten so much cleaner throughout the years
Thank you! Since when are you following?
@@wanjanechtangroeger 2 1/2 Jahre denke ich und kenne natürlich auch die älteren Videos
I noticed that too. Really clean double strokes. I’ve been a fan for about 3 years.
3:59 arm.exe has stopped working
haha, yes :D
Very impressive double bass technique. Sounds like a nest of machine guns going off!
Your drumming and your drum kit have never sounded better. Awesome stuff.
Thank you!
Your drumming motivates me to become much better than I am now!
and THIS is where you REALLY need that fulcrum grip tech!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He makes it look so easy. Mad talent.
Wow, your transitions have gotten tighter, playing more consistent, it is looking even more effortless. It has been a good year for your drumming for sure.
5:06 loved that fill!
Btw, have you ever considered adding a bell or a splash to the kit? I think it would be a nice addition
Multiple sized splashes and a bell would add Soo much variety to the sound
You have some of the sickest footwork I’ve ever seen
Absolute musical genius
This is amazing work, really shows your passion and dedication for the instrument
Absolutely amazing technique!
Thank you!
Großartig, sehr aggressiv.
Even though I don't play this style you are undeniably awesome at this and an awesome drummer generally! Any chance you will be doing a tutorial about your single strokes? At 5:06 you're super fast even without the push pull!
your left leg is soooooooo efficient.
"fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once. I fear the man who has practiced *one* kick 10,000 times."
-some old person
@Lokey Warrior 32 is old af.
Bruce Lee was young
@Lokey Warrior Ok…
I still remember seeing you play on top of a shipping container on a very cheap & fragile drumkit, showing off your amazingly fast double stroke technique.
I'm glad a pro like you has an adequate kit now, that's in correlation with his skills.
After years of taking a hiatus from active drumming, & focusing more on learning other instruments as well like guitar etc, I finally cannot resist anylonger to start actively playing again. Although I never really stopped drumming. Either I would programm drum tracks on my computer or put on my headphones & figure out a song by just playing drums completely unplugged. lol
I don't even need a double bass pedal, I can do fast double bass just on the floor anyways, which blows some peoples minds. lol
Drumming is very therapeutic & can relive a lot of stress. Even though I used to primarely play mostly metal & rock back in the day, this time I would like to study jazz drumming as well. Since my journey as a musician has humbled me in a positive way & made me more appreciative to be more openminded to other genres & playstyles.
I'm thinking of getting a Tama 22" Imperialstar 6 piece kit with Meinl Crash Cymbals to enhance the already included Meinl series.
Plus, personally I think Meinl is one of the best brands for Crash Cymbals. Although with Splash & Chinas you are mostly better of with Wuhans or Millenium for the China & Sabian or some other oriental brands for the splash.
Great that you have your own drum school/course now.
Cheers Wanja
Thank you! I wish you all the best and good luck with picking up the sticks again :)
Btw my drumset is still the same - but I got waaaaay better cymbals now from Zultan Cymbals (I actually like them a lot more than the Meinls I had, but that is of course a matter of taste ;).
@@wanjanechtangroeger No wayyy...I can hardly believe that lol.
May I ask what brand of kit you have & how you were able to make a visually mediocre kit sound so professional & good?
Obviously drum heads help a lot & using good mics is also common sense.
But there must be a secret Im not getting...
Maybe you oil your drums with an endangered fire ant nectar. lol
But I like your humblness as a musician. Since in the end it all comes down to the player & not how expensive or good an instrument is.
Btw you should check out Nargaroths Sommer song.
Near the end is an insane double bass pattern that will destroy your legs.
Thought it might serve as inspiration for you.
Peace
@@SquidwardLSDSquirtingOctopussy My drums are Mapex M Birch. I think the main factor for the sound is that I usually tune my toms in a certain way - bottom skin relativewly tight, top skin very loose.
@@wanjanechtangroeger
Mindblowing how one can get so much out of a "mediocre" kit with very little effort but the right amount of tinkering & experimenting.
I wonder, do you have a band or released some material I could check out?
Either way, thanks for taking the time to answer your subscribers & fans.
Not many channels of that magnitude do that.
I wish you all the best with your future musical endeavors & the journey of being a musician itself.
All the best to you. : )
My goodness - he seems so relax. Energy saving technique. Less fuel being burn!
4:48. I love ride cymbals
Would love to hear a breakdown of your wrist up down technique
You can get this online course: www.wanjanechtangroeger.com/courses/blast-beats-extreme-performance
Or you can check out my old video about this technique here: ruclips.net/video/2RlqvRcbl_4/видео.html
smooth as silk blasts.
AMAZING MIRACLE
man this must be a workout lol
I would like to give you a HUGE THANK YOU for posting the video about your fantastic double bass technique. Thanks to you, my band sounds much nicer and more "metal". I started in november and now I can almoast play at 220 bpm. (Pretty comfortable around 190-200). Ankles never felt right. Thank you so much!!!!
🔥🔥🔥 Finally some Remo's too. Much more attack and articulation, and better suited for this style imo.
Awesome Man...That Flow 🔥🤘😈🤘🔥
@Kryptönïtë Scï Fï Sïnïstër Oh ive heard vimic and loved it...only 4 er 5 songs tho. But thanks and Cheers. Rock on!
That kit sounds great
Brutally done my friend. Keep it up!
You're the best Ranger Studio Illinois
Hammer geil!!! Respect!!
Dankeschön!
@@wanjanechtangroeger so zu spielen ist mein ziel, aber da brauch i noch ein bißchen 🙃
I got exhausted just tapping my toe. I'll return
Sounds great, keep up the blasts!!!
Wow! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damn you make that push pull looks easy but it’s hard to develop at that speed at least for me it is.
I think you MUST make a collab drum video with 66Samus, maybe. :)
Hell yeah that would be cool asf
Daaamn, so clean I want to see you play kolossus!
Can you pls cover lorna shore - king ov deception
Double stroke rolls are seldom used by metal drummers - actually it makes it sound faster than single strokes.
can you do an infant annihilator cover? would be so cool
Olah bobah!
Very epic and awesome
I still love the intro keep it up!

For some reason when I read 2020 in the title I was thinking that was the bpm
You make it look easy. Lol... 👍👍
Incrível!!!
Hej Wanja! Do you have any recommendations for electronic drum kits that are good for playing black metal? I'm asking for myself, as I want to play, but I live upstairs in a small apartment building. I don't have space to play on a real drum set.
Hi! I don't have much experience with e-drums! Soundwise, I haven't heard an e-drumset sounding good with blast beats, but for practise purposes to train blast beats, double bass etc almost any e-drumset or even just practise pads do the job ;)
I would go with an Alesis Strike Pro SE over anything else unless you want to drop g's on a TD-50 with add-ons. The reason I would choose the Alesis is the realistic sizes of the toms, the more realistic feeling mesh pads, and the decent sounds. I use one and while it's no replacement for acoustic, it serves its purpose very well!
Wanja [Nechtan] Gröger
Thanks brother! I've been looking into getting a set for a while, and I wanted an experts opinion before I go make a large investment.
Jonathon Stewart
Thank you for your advice as well! I'll go search for that set.
@@nocturne6548hey bro did you buy an electronic drumset?
hell yeahh ☝🏻💪🏻🤘🏻
You are so fast. Your techneques tho
Very good job .
Everything this man does is in double strokes
牛逼( niu bi )!=COOL!
yeaaah boyyyyyyyyyyyyy
🤘😝🤘Yeah!!!
Please do some covers!
Great 👌👌
Wow
你这赶上超能力了
How is this even possible
A lot of practise and the mastering of a very good technique
🤘🤘🐐🐐🤘🤘
How long do your cymbals last?
Depends on the type of cymbal - ride, hihat, splashes usually last many years, crashes and chinas often less than a year.
Кайф 😌😌😌
\m/ great!
Duel with oki fadhlan from indonesia🔥🔥
Make some mgla or kriegsmachine covers please

It all just sounds like a washing machine with dodgy bearings....
hahah.. he says barely an inconvenience, but then he makes this alligator mouth while playing xD... but I guess that's what could happen if you do physical action like playing at 310bpm
Watch till the end 😉

Lol
“ super easy barely an inconvenience” . You watch that one parody RUclips channel, don’t ya. Lol
Haha, pitch meeting :D
Wanja [Nechtan] Gröger lol that’s the one 😆
It sounds like death metal but death metal is only about attitude. This is not death metal because it doesn’t sound like death.
It's giving me a headache...
...really fast
