@@MarcoEsSanSivar damn I almost fell over when you said that I grew up knowing Dirk Verbeuren through my dad, and he would work on the Dirk Blast in my basement on my drumset back when he was in Soilwork. Cowbell blasts, Tambourine blasts, latin percussion blasts, gong blasts, foot snare blast (like the old Septic Flesh drummer) so many different kinds lol
@@doknox Update: The cops have now shown up at my door twice. Lockdown has forced people inside, and neighbors no longer leave the house nor have a job to go to. The government has taken from me the one thing I truly love in my life.
I really enjoyed how as I was thinking "Chris Adler", you called it the Chris Adler beat followed by the Tomas Haake beat. The use of the sheet music makes this so easy to understand. Incredible job!
This is AWESOME! To any drummer, not just metal ones, what a great workout for endurance and coordination. AND playing this will drive any non-drummer crazy :D
Actually by mastering blast beats up to a certain degree it gives you quite the stamina to cover extreme metal and also almost every other heavy metal genre.
I simply love the creativity here with such a simple beat. It really takes a huge ammount of talent to put these patterns together. Rhythm is one thing, the technique is another but talent is the main ingredient pulling all these together. Absolutely amazing work!
Man, this is one of the most if not the most interesting metal drumming I've seen/heard/read so far. Very nice!! Also, I REALLY need to know how is it that you make it work when doing double strokes + using the hi-hat pedal consistently. The first time I watched you doing this in a previous video(I can't remember which one exactly) I tried it at a confortable/slow tempo to begin, but I ended up making some pretty awful hi-hat chicks. I couldn't find a way to keep it clean. Keep up the good work, man!!
That was by far, the best, most impressive, technical, time keeping, insane drumming I've ever seen on a video on RUclips or anywhere else! I can feel the pain you're showing on your face like as if I'm playing it. You my drumming legend, have shown to the world, I believe to be, the best and most creative Blast Beat related Video on the internet. You are truly amazing at what you do, you inspire so many people, including myself. We were all very lucky to have you at this moment in time. I wish I could one day, become a drummer as good as you are!

Great vid, made me realize some of the things ive been doing (like hand changes) and discounting as "not really a blast" qualify as blasts. I am now inspired to work harder on my left hand strength and finger controll!
Thank you soo much for this video Kevin as I only just discovered it. Found this video extremely beneficial to myself, also more positive open-minded about different ways to do blast beats in this video really helps me. I'm a drummer in a black metal band who's been drumming for about 12 years now since I was 12 and now 25 years old but have a medical condition on top of it which is a muscle disease beckers muscular dystrophy which makes it very challenging and frustrating sometimes when playing and learning more challenging blast beats. But I always find a way to adapt with what I can do when using blast beats in my drumming but sometimes do get frustrated with trying to do the more difficult blast beats as I can do which basically the grindblast that I a do with the ride and the cymbals which I use a lot in my black metal playing but play a more closed double kicker beat on top to make it easy for myself. Watching this video has made me feel more open-minded to trying more different ways of applying the blast beat around the kit. and motivated me during these times so gonna be watching this a lot now.
Those friggin double strokes with the feet are so on point and the open and close while doing that. This is the first time I’ve seen that Wow really this is the first time to see a lot of things but very interesting
Strong work, Kevin! As a bassist I was rather enjoying playing along & trying to follow all these crazy permutations. Happy days from the rhythm section, my friend.
Man most of the last 10 or so are crazy hard. Really great video, I don't play much extreme metal but there are a lot of musical applications to these concepts outside of metal.
When option 46 arrived, my celphone almost exploded 🤣!!! Congratulations man, you are not from this world and for that reason I need to be like you!!!!!!
I love the Blow Blast at the end! Seriously, thank you man! It's nice collection of blast beats! I prefer the second half when it's on the beat, it has more impact and less chaotic.
wow, beat 50 : How to make yourself pass out. Super impressed and very appreciative of this video. Later tonight I will go home and take notes and write some midi (I'm a guitarist). Thank yoU! ❤️
This was incredibly inspiring. Some of the ideas presented here I didn't even think possible and I'm definitely going to experiment with these. Nr. 50 was really some out of the box thinking though haha, brilliant.
Bien tabanak...wayon!?! You Mr. Blast Beat master have a new Sub. I've been a heavy metal drummer for about 30 yrs and you my friend have taught and old dog new tricks. Merci! 🎼🥁⚡
Wow, i was esceptic at the beggining but because i think i can't follow traditional blasts, it just feels out of time. But bomb blasts left me astonished. Great work.
At 3:28, Dan Presland uses this in the song And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope. I like to call it a ghostblast (as Dan Presland uses it, because the snare kind of "fades away" into the background, like a ghost note.
Excellent for morning viewing. That martial blast beat woke we the hell up lol. That breathing blast beat sounds like it needs to be on the next Gorguts album
I'm thankful for the work you put into this because I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess this took a lot of time not just shooting but preparing. Great work on this definitely
I knew that name was familiar! Construct Of Lethe, Benighted, Svart Crown, Shining, lots of very different bands but you nailed with each one. Bravo! Also, I just watched a 12 minute video of blast beats without fills, I need rest hahah. Like I listened to two Ulcerate albums in a row.

Your natural twitch speed is around 415/420. So you find it natural to play Here! Beautifully designed method. Nice use of Moeller. And maintaining powerful stroke is best, 👌
Absolutely amazing! I think I've heard pretty much all of them at one point or another in metal songs, but couldn't tell you the names. The last one was new to me though.
You, sir, are a gift to the drumming community. This is extremely useful/entertaining to any drummer.
Thank you very much !
Tyler Telesco it was entertaining to me and I'm not even a drummer
I would say useful too
The breathing blast beat is the coolest thing ever! This is one great video!

even Chuck Norris said that
I was on the edge of my seat, expecting a fill the entire time.

Would be good to learn how to make the snare-bass roll (for traditional and bomb blast) powerful
Yeah, I felt the same way, haha. It's like when you put a dominant or diminished chord or whatever and don't resolve it.
Lol 666th like
Haha
#50 was the most insane thing ever with the gravity blast
Pretty demonic uh ? I'm pretty sure to use it in the next Mithridatic album
#31 is the inverted traditional blast isn't it. and #35 is bomb blast?
Jesse Bowles, I know!!! So freak'n cool!! Who the heck cane up with this trick??
