Been into this technique with my dw9000 with shoes for months. Great technique with like 80% technique and 20% muscle memory. Really like it! Great video! 🤘🏻
For the especially dense (me), remember to make sure the beater swings back at the end of the downstroke, before the upstroke. Really focus on the feeling of it, and eventually you get a sort of swinging feeling with your feet, where you can progress forward. This technique is so cool and unique and actually really fun to mess around with, thank you for this tutorial!
You look more friendly in this video than the old one. This was deeply explained than before. I like the previous one because the bass has not trigger on it but well, seems you mastered the technique and took it faster! Thanks for the explanation!
Been using this technique cause of learning it from you last June. Super fun once u get it going. Yay for showing how to utilize " constant release" technique on a double pedal. I think more people would use it if they just knew it existed. Or at least that's how I felt.
"If your chin muscle start hurting you're doing it right" - So important you said that. That is the most painful part of drumming for shure but it's definitely worth it! Thanks Man!
This is an awesome video, I’ve been searching for a video for ages to finally learn a great technique for double bass and I’ve finally found the video, keep up the great work man I absolutely love it 🤘🤘
Nechtan, I have a pedal just like yours, but you use it as a short board?? I thought the long board would be more effective for this technique or at least easier..anyway, I'm joining your school to learn more about those great techniques you have. Se you on the other side!! 🤘🏼👊🏼
Thank you so much for this! I'm really considering joining your school. With drumming tempos "above humanly possible-per-minute" on the drums, it's quite amusing to hear you speak so clearly and calmly :-) Everyone can follow, and you keep it very interesting!
Danke für deine verständlichen Unterrichtsstunden . Alles sauber erklärt . Ich lerne immer gerne dazu . Sehe deine Videos mit großem Interesse ! Super !!!
I actually started using this motion out of pure accident while re learning the ankle technique at slower tempos. It felt very comfortable but I’m still going to keep trying to nail singles at all tempos before switching techniques and messing with my muscle memory but will definitely pursue this in the future
Tks man, im from Brasil, and i learned in another video that you used this technique, then i start to trainning a lot this technique, i dont like swivel, isnt comfortable to me, i trainning a lot, tks for the vídeos hehehehe
You are a legend sir. 🙏🙏🙏 I have a question that I hope you can help me with. Can I use the heel toe technique when playing two quick double strokes in a common standard groove? Take the bonham triplets for example. It’s tough for me to play it slower and also too fast. Basically it’s hard to time the hits when playing heel toe. How can I overcome this?
When you get to alternating (double bass) - When you say "single strokes" are you going - Heel R, heel L, then Toe R, Toe L? or heel-toe R, then heel-toe L?
That’s crazy man. Been into death metal drumming for 30 years and never knew this was possible. Everytime I try this I just say ehh, easier with ankles and do it that way lol.
At nine minutes into the video : "Imagine the pedal is your prisoner. You don't want to carry your prisoner all the way, no? You hold him at gunpoint and just give him a little nudge from time to time", with the accent of a voice that sounds like he could be running a prison camp. I don't know why that brought a wide smile on my face but thank you.
Most of these videos from other creators are faking their lessons and shit. SO RELIEVED GO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN ACTUALLY DO IT HELL YEAH. Even though there are little imperfections and mistimed hits its still fuckin great and helpful for my technique. Keep it up bro!!!
Hi Wanja, I signed to your school and can't wait to start(even though I am a fucking beginner 🤦♂️)! Will you teach one foot blasts and flying fingers technique in your lessons? Hail 🤘🏻
Jeez, just saw your video. I was practising heel toe, but it looks like there's a difference... you come down with the toe and push back up with the toe with heel in the middle. I was practising coming down with heel and pushing up with toe. Got me confused now 🤔. Anyway, i'll look in to it i guess 😉. You're sick man! So jealous of your talent. Keep up the good work with the vids!
I bought the trigmic based on wanja's review. I absolutely adore it, though I don't play live metal shows at the moment. Can anyone explain why they're not more popular? Especially for fellas like myself who play local clubs and bars in a big city, and take the subway to gigs, so we can't carry around a flight case full of electronics? It seems like a no brainer to me.
I guess it is just not as well-known and not many well-known drummers endorse them. Same could be probably said about OnTriggers, especially compared to Footblasters.
Nice tips for practicing AFK ;) I tend to have troube staying seated when both legs are working. I've bought a better drum throne for that, but I'm quite surprised you don't seem to mention yours ;)
its weird, i am not taletned for anything double bass over 180 but then again, when i search or in this case do not search for excersizes, algo, i came up with the same excersize myself, i currently just do the same thing. But only to get feeling back into the feet. and as i allready mentioned not at high speeds. Internal monologou externalized: I do that like in the end or the beginning of a pattern, dodoDO(left) dodoDO(right) and thought its good because it hurts in the legs. So this makes a coach rather than a football player right?

Probably the most effective drummer on youtube
It takes high difficulty to prove your statement wrong.
Been into this technique with my dw9000 with shoes for months.
Great technique with like 80% technique and 20% muscle memory.
Really like it!
Great video! 🤘🏻

This technique is so cool and unique and actually really fun to mess around with, thank you for this tutorial!
Hard to keep the strokes even, it switches to a shuffle with a downstroke a lot more powerful than the upstroke, dunno how to fix it
"Just a little nudge from time to time" hahahah hellz yeah.
And just like that I clicked subscribe.
What an analogy!! Haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That bass drum technique is so fast, but looks so effortless! Incredible!
Damn this was a great explanation of the Heel-Toe technique!!
You look more friendly in this video than the old one. This was deeply explained than before. I like the previous one because the bass has not trigger on it but well, seems you mastered the technique and took it faster!
Thanks for the explanation!
No one else explains these techniques as good as you man. Fantastic job
This is the best explanation I've seen for this technique. I'm older. 49 years old.
I'd really like to learn this.
The best explanation I've seen for the mechanics of the heel toe technique.
I'm older. 49 years old. I'd really like to learn this.
Very interesting and useful technique. Great job as always!
Il grande David!!!
Stormlord!
This is definitely the best double-bass technique video I've seen
the ambassador of heel toe technique. while many use swivel, you are the few who teach and use this technique from my observation.
Wow, You are never too old to learn something new, even in a space one is very knowledgeable in. I'm glad I found this video.
You’re an excellent teacher! Great video!
Been using this technique cause of learning it from you last June. Super fun once u get it going. Yay for showing how to utilize " constant release" technique on a double pedal. I think more people would use it if they just knew it existed. Or at least that's how I felt.
this is so detailed and well explained. just great great content.
I've been working on this technique for 2 years now and my top consistent speed is 230 bpm. Thank you for making a new version of this video
Just curious man what was your progression like? And what pedals were you using? I hit 220 with heel toe doubles but I can’t quite hit 230
One of the best metal drumming channel so far. 🤘🤘
You're a really good teacher man! Great stuff

Economy of motion! Dude! That is some ridiculous BD speed. Love it.

After many videos watched, I finally understood heel e toe with your explanation. And best of all, you don't use long board pedal!

Great! Thank you for pre-ordering! Yes, both will be covered. I`m looking forward to see you there!
Any chance of you make a video playing Sonor quadruple (or similar) pedals? It requires the same technique
