SHARING IS CARING!
This is very well done this is will definitely help with my heel toe you are amazingly talented oh and might I add you are very very clear when explaining
Great job man this was very well made. Love all this new content you’re making keep it up!
Thank you, and nice job explaining this. I'm waiting for episode 2!
I'm going to search thru your vids but it would be really awesome to see a pedal set up video ! Love your content. Keep it up!
I have big feet and I want to play heel toe but I dont wamt to spend 450 on double pedal and my feet not be able to perform it. I was able to play it on a longboard single so what does anyone think
I came here for heel-toe driving technique. Then, I bought a drum set.
😂😂😂😂
Same....😂👌🏼 Just bought alesis nitro
What kind?
Sounds like the stuff we complain about when our women do it lol
Everytime I search up heel toe I need to make sure I put "drums" in the sesrchbar 😂
Best damn explanation I’ve ever heard, I’ve been playing for 32 years and this video speaks to me crystal clear brother well done.
You could do tutorials on how to make tutorials. Your videos are made super well and i don't think you get enough credit for it, Good shit!
Thats actually a really fantastic idea for the future! I will add this to the list :) thank you !! :D
Agreed!
I like the 'heads up' display of the notes moving as you play the exercise. What software for notation do you use? And yes, would love to see a tutorial on how you make tutorials! Great channel. Subscribed...
I have been looking for this explanation for years. Pretty clear, thanks!
You are very welcome! :D So happy my content is of use to you! thanks for leaving this comment !
Yea same here. Never really worked on this technique
I don't even fuckin play drums but this is interesting to watch lol
Eugene Ryabchenko and Marthyn Jovanovic are MUCH better teachers. His explanation of heel toe is a good way to actually hurt yourself and have a short life as a drummer.
@@JM-ll6hd Dude, Wyatt does civers since...I dunno five years or so(?). If you look at his playing, you'll notice how much he played more than five years. Short: this guy probably knows what he's doing...
@@s3b1bast1an3 his heel toe "technique" is laughable. True masters of the technique like the above or especially Francesco Paoli and John Longstreth have no part of their heel touching the footboard (only possible with tiny feet even on longboards) AND they can actually do sustained rolls with the feet. Not saying hes a terrible drummer but hes is limited and hes teaching bad technique.
@@s3b1bast1an3 lets see if hes still doing this in 5 or ten years. 30+ years as a drummer is easily done with proper technique.
@@JM-ll6hd Im a big fan of Marthyns channel. He had John Longstreth from Origin on his channel teaching Heel-Toe. He talked about pain threshold, different Heel-Toe techniques and exercises. Excellent instructional video.
I asked my music teacher in fourth grade about heel toe and he said that doesn't work then I quit playing music for 10 years, thank you for doing what you're doing world needs good music teachers like yourself
Dude this is a game changer! I have struggled sooooooo hard with 32nd notes on the bass and every other tutorial teaches the swivel technique which I cant do as I severely broke my ankle back in the day! A million thank you's for this!
I tried heel toe many many times and I was not able to get the right rebound feeling, today I found your video and for some reason after watching it I was able to do it for the first time! Also the fact that I have the same exact pedal got me even more motivated so many thanks for the video!
Been playing for like 6 years and have never been able to figure out heel toe, after watching this for the past month and practicing it FINALLY clicked. I feel like I’m committing an act of sorcery. Now I’m just trying to even it out and honestly this is fucking SO mind blowingly cool.
A wild New Tempo has appeared
you are awesome dude, and not (just) as a drummer, but as a person, you are helping at least one drummer from Brazil, thank you for that!
I have been following this video for about 3 weeks and can do this decently well now! I honestly am super surprised at how much this impacted my playing and stamina. Not great yet, but never could until after you explained it and provided those exercises. You're a badass!
This is by far the most helpful video for this technique I have seen, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every video for this technique on RUclips by now...
I’m so grateful for this video. I practiced yesterday on my kit & had practice with my band today & I could already feel a difference. Thank you so much for this. I feel like I’ve badly been feelling like a failure as a drummer because of my lack double kick lately. This has boosted my confidence greatly. ❤️
Thanks Wyatt! Definitely one of the best heel-toe videos around and by far the most useful to me personally! Great breakdown of not only how the technique functions mechanically (which is often poorly explained and only illustrated) but how to use it.
Not even a drummer, but I was WAITING for this video dude
LMAO! Thats AWESOME to hear :D :D thanks so much! I hope you enjoyed!!!
gioguitars get into drummin then man lol
The part I like the best was your explanation for beginners. Everybody wants to run before they can walk. It's good that you're giving the beginners an understanding of foundation because a house without a good foundation just aint gonna stand too long and it's good that you inforce the foundational fundamentals!! 👍
You just accelerated my playing by lightyears. I've been doing this so wrong for a long time. 1 hour of practice after seeing this and I am already sounding like a different drummer. Way way better. Thankyou so much
Oh! It takes skills that not everybody will have in his life!!! But it can't be explain in a better way. Thank you, you're a good person to give your time so generously.
duuude! i watched dozens of videos and i always got a nice feeling but never came so close after following your instructions! thanks a lot bro!! i feel like this will carry me far!!
Well done. Everything works in this debut video. The instructions are clear and detailed enough to grasp the content. The thing I appreciated most was the pace. It moved quickly without a lot of distraction and chitter chatter. Those who are trying to learn this will get a lot of value from this.
You just got yourself one new subscriber, I'm a single father of 3 been drumming since I was 9 I'm 33 years old. I wish I had a teacher when I was younger but we couldn't afford it. You are a good teacher man. Keep it up. I will be watching all your videos. Cant wait to see what I can learn.
Im new at drums (guitarist of 30yrs) and find your instructions to be very clear and the way you explain what your doing makes it very easy to understand. Your a great teacher. I have subscribed to your channel as i believe its mostly ''the way your taught'' that brings out the best...on top of how much u practice aswell..thank you :-) keep the vids coming.
I feel like this was perfect. Explanations, demos, and practice routines were all very clear. Excited to try these out !
And that’s why RUclips should create a double like button! You are an amazing musician and teacher. Huge thanks for all this work. 🙌🏻🤘🏽🥁
It blows my mind Wyatt doesnt have more subs. this video is so informative and in depth
DUDE you're just amazing at explaining, and I could literally pull off all the exercises (even though I just started out)! Blast beats, here I come!!
Awesome video man! You have unlocked so much for me!!!
You are very good at explaining the things you want to teach. Watched a lot of different youtubers/organisations that are really skilled, but none of them can teach their skills as good as you do. happy that I stumbled on to this one. Keep it up!
Thanks so much for leaving this comment :D I always stress while making my videos about this point!!! Always going over in my head as I edit "does this make sense?.. will people understand and pick this up?" .. so after posting and getting to read amazing comments like this one really makes it all so worth it :D and keeps me pumped for the next one!!!
Great video!!
Drummers sharing techniques and taking the time out to do it is fantastic!!!
As we are all music lovers 👊🏻
FINALLY !!!!!!!! The very first actual Heel Toe combo demonstration I have found on youtube \m/ You are awesome man !!!!! Rock n Roll >;-)
I’ve seen your cover vids pop up every so often but I’ve never really studied them until this video- being a jazz/fusion drummer the metal/blast beat drumming scene perplexed me and confused me- your tutorials are put together very well and you explain not only the tricks involved, but the fundamentals required to perform the tricks properly. Very good stuff- keep up the good work! Liked and subscribed 💯💯
This is an amazing video. I never realized that I've been doing heel toe work ever since middle and high school classes as well lol. and i am currently sitting at work practicing this along with the video on my desk and floor. Thanks!
Love how in depth you get into it dude. Great content man. I already know all this it’s still fun to watch your videos 🔥
Kye Gutierrez glad you enjoyed! 🤘🏻
This is the lesson I needed 5 years ago when I first started trying to learn double bass! Thank you!
Great video man! Your explanation and demonstration of the techniques you're explaining were spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed it! 🤘🤘
Your instructional videos are so clear and helpful ! I have a lot of practicing to do now.....thank you for making these videos!
Awesome vid man, very well done! Your perspective on how these applications are taught is right on.
I love the explanation. The note you show and the different tempos. By far the best drum lessons. Not even joking you teach better online than most teachers in person.
Adam Ochoa thanks so much 😁🤘🏻
Possibly the best video on RUclips , I will be showing my drum teacher this
YOURE AMAZING.Thank you for your patience in teaching us beginners!
I learned myself to play drums and over the years I realized what I'm definitely need to improve. Your videos are really helping me fixing the mistakes I make and getting a better drummer. Looking forward to many more lessons from you Wyatt :D
TheMrchris47 that’s amazing to hear! I’m so happy I could be of help 😁🤘🏻
I have been watching videos on how to do heel toe for a while now, but yours was the best explanation I have seen. Thanks for the help! Hopefully I'll have this down soon!
It’s honestly refreshing to see this played with the full foot, which is how I play my heel toe.
99.999999999% of the heel toe video’s I’ve seen are the normal variant with the heel not on the board.
Thanks, man. This is genuinely encouraging.
Right? All the other videos are like “heel toe isn’t actually played with your heel and you don’t need long boards” I cannot understand how to play like those people do doing this
Dope series man, seriously! Keep it up, I'm certain you're going to be of utmost help to all of us
oh wow thank you :D thats super awesome to hear!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 This is exactly what I needed! You're killin' it bro with your channel!
638zr1 thanks so much ! 😁🤘🏻 happy practicing!!
Thanks Wyatt! Your videos are always very useful
Hi, Wyatt. I'm here cause I've seen you playing with Jared Dines recently. I was so amazed that I had to check your RUclips channel, and I've found out this incredible tutorials you've made. Just want to say thank you for your dedication and to say that I, personally, really like the way you direct them. At least for me, they are so clear and helpful, and I've improved my technique in a couple of days in a way that I would never expect (I'm one from the step 1, beginners 😂😂). Anyway, you're doing a great job and I encourage you to carry on. Greetings from Barcelona!
This is the best explanatio and exercises in understanding heel toe double strokes !!! Props on you dude !
Finally! Thank you. Starting on some of Bonham’s faster bass work. I needed this.
Nice explanation! Awesome exercises! Thanks man!
Good stuff Wyatt!!
Great video man! You've got a great persona real friendly, your playing is gnarly, and video production was superb. Subbed!!:)
Awesome job man. I am subscribing! Best to you.
You're a fantastic teacher! Thank you!
so cool mate! everything’s explained in details and all the patterns don’t seem to be very complicated even for beginners! please keep going!
Thanks so much! I am really glad you enjoyed :D
DUDE! I'm not even a drummer but i watched the whole video and even tried to do the exercises. WELL DONE!
Awesome work man!
Bro!!! Thanks for making this lesson! Definitely helped me out with this one. Well done!
Awesome video! Really helpful
This is a really well made video! It was informative and the exercises are chosen also well. I play drums for 7 years and had only done scuffs on the floor, but not on an actual kit...
However you have now a new subscriber:)
The best instruction Ive seen yet. incredible job man!! Tha k you!!
amazing just amazing your drumming is like art every time
this is the best double kick tutorial i have found anywhere.. bravo
Damn man, I stopped drumming like 10 years ago and never got the hang of double bass drumming. Seeing you cover DGD has me thinking of getting back into it. Keep doing what your doing man!
Thats sweet ! :D I hope you do get back into it!! lemme know how it goes and if you decide to take up drums / double kick !
This is surprisingly very informative. great Content
Thank you so much for these
I think this is by far the best explanation of heel toe technique I have seen. I was immidiately able to hit 160 pretty consistently with accuracy after watching this. My biggest problem though is that my pedals are too short and I have trick Bigfoots. I end up with my toes jammed up into the front of the pedal in order for my heel to hit past the fulcrum of the pedal. Anyone else have this problem?
I don’t even play drums... I play guitar and bass but yet I enjoyed your video and will practice everywhere those techniques. You’re a great instructor. Very easy to understand
Holy shit, I've been practicing scuffs on the floor since I was little, never knew it was an actual thing and didn't know you could actually apply it to the kit 😂😜
Same lol 😆
I was just bragging to my wife about how great it is to have this information available to the younger generation coming up. Even though I'm still not quite 28 (so I'm still young myself). I remember having to learn all of this information through listening and playing along, just grinding out track after track of famous drummers/bands. And like you said in the video, tapping your feet while in class, and teaching myself to walk Heel-toe, heel-toe. As you went through the video it made me think of childhood drummers. Like exercise 1 & 2 reminds me of Chris Adler. Excercise 3 Andols Herrick. I commend you Wyatt. Good content bro! Keep it coming.
James McMurray wow! Thank you James for this amazing comment! Means the world man! 🤘🏻😁
Video was extremely helpful! Thanks man!
Really cool stuff!! Well done, and with passion!!! Thanx!!
I'm really digging these tutorial videos man. Well done!
Thanks so much :D
I used swivel technique my whole life and just fell in love with heel toe...I am going to practice the fook out of this. Thank you brother. I just got a new toy.
I wish we had this great teacher when i young but so glad we have pros like this now that share THANK YOU
I’ve been bouncing my feet like this for years listening to music. Never ever thought to apply it to kick drumming. Just gotta work on the speed now. Thanks a bunch 👍🏻
That was an amazing tutorial, i cant wait to try these exercises tomorrow.
Your Video was amazing, with structure, good videos to show what your talking about and also a nice combination of theory and showing in real.
Thanks so so much :D really glad you enjoyed! lemme know how practicing these concepts go!!
Never realized something I’ve done for years while just sitting can be used on my foot pedals thank you for the scuff portion of your tutorial I think it should come rather quickly for me since I’ve been doing it for years when I’m sitting and board hahahahahah who knew? You did I guess and thank you this is so awesome!
Amazing video! Loved the idea of these series
Samuel Bassani thanks so much! 🤘🏻😁
Awesome dude! That simple way you said how you used to practice heel-toe was pretty helpful. Thanks!
Albino Júnior thanks for this comment! Super happy this video benefited you! 😁🤘🏻
amazing video man!!!! Cheers from CV Islands!!
This is some killer good stuff! I can't wait for my Black Widows to come in then go over these exercises. Thanks for the lessons! Cheers!
Worth the wait dude holy shit you are doing really well with this content man you are great keep up the good shit brother
And my favourite was definitely the last exercise very cool thanks drummer boi
Makes me so happy to hear! :D thank you!
@@tommywiseau8234 Give it a go? lemme know how you like playing it ?! :)
Freaking awsome you are the best at teaching my friend... im impressed with the way you explain things
You are a great teacher!! You explain everything so well thank u
Great job !
Wow nice! I learned so much in this video 👍👍
This is really good advice. In the 7 years that I have played (no longer currently) I’ve never tried the heel -toe- method. Can’t wait to get my kit back! Plz wish me luck
Thanks Wyatt, Heel Toe works for me. Great patterns. I ll be in the practice room giving this a try
Lo máximo , el youtuber que necesitaba, muchas gracias 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is the best video I've found on this technique, thank you for making this!
Justus Wilson you are very welcome 😁🤘🏻🔥
I know this video is a bit dated , but your explantions and demonstrations are the best I've seen.
Check out this sweet ass video now! Well done Wyatt. I learn a lot from these videos. Thank you!!!
You are very welcome! Im really happy you enjoyed :D
I've always loved drums in the bands, this vid just makes me want to learn to play drums!!! amazing vid ! subbed :D
You would be surprised how much you can pick up quick on drums. The stuff this guy is doing takes a ton of agonizing boring rudimentary practice but, if you wanted to just get into it and be able to jam some beats with buddies.. they aren't too challenging compared to other instrument I find.
Nice to see you included my feedback in this video! :)
Makes it much better in my opinion. Great tutorial, keep it up
Simon Tryhardt thanks for requesting 😁🤘🏻
Great vídeo man
great job young man KEEP ROCKIN
Dude you are amazing and incredibly helpful, thank you!!
