No body wanted the old 55 around my parts but I knew I could get it back on the road. Tried my best to build it like the old boys did back in the day Gasser style. She's just a good ole street car.
Lot of people dig it and I'm proud to have it. She's running great now tomorrow I'll be taking her out to a show. Thanks for checking it out have a great weekend.

@IronheadGarage I agree with that. My father use to horse trade alot back in his day to restore the old 50s and put them back on the road. Last one he fixed up was my uncles 55 stepside truck. It really was nice. I got to ride in it a few times before he passed. His son sold it off. I was really hurt by that
I tried to get my cousin to sell it to me. But he absolutely would not do it. He got alot less for it than I was offering him. What a shame. I heard the guy that bought it parted it out and scrapped the rest. What a shame. Maybe one day I can afford to find one and restore it to honor my father's memory. I'm getting older and probably will never get the chance. But I'm glad to see you completing this project hopefully you pick a awesome color scheme for it. I'm definitely going to keep watching this one unfold.

Poor old truck. Keep looking they are still out there but getting hard to find.
I have a 55 GMC step side that I've been working on its own my channel too.
They sure did build great stuff back in the 50s. I sure dig the old rides.
I need to get back working on it soon. The 55 Gasser I'll probably leave the old patina on it not sure if I'll ever paint it.
I've had a few hotrod's with very nice paint and they are stressful to have.
The 55 it doesn't care if you go down a gravel road or it someone's leaning on it lol. I do really enjoy driving and not having to worry about the paint. But you just never know one day I just might paint it but would be the old 60s style paint job.

I got lucky getting mine she was a old Rust bucket no one else wanted
I knew I could bring her back to life again with a bunch of work.

My first car/Hot Rod was a 1955 Chevy 210 post. They were MADE to be GASSERS!!! Nice ride my friend!!!
Hey thanks Pete! That's pretty cool to hear your first car was a 55 and even a post. Nothing like a old 55 chevy right. Had to wait till I was in my 40s to get one. Found one cheap that I could afford that nobody else wanted. She was a rusty old girl but I knew I could build something cool out of it.

WOO! HOO! CONGRATS Chris! I can imagine how stoked you are now! A LONG time coming! But there's nothing in the world like that maiden voyage. Makes all the blood sweat and tears worth it. Point is YOU built it! You were wise in taking your lady along, helps restrain you. Too many times I've taken some of my buddies along, and of course all they do is egg you on. Proud of you, much more restraint than yours truly. I've never had a first run yet without it going full bore sooner or later. Fine job, be proud, you richly deserve it!

Too cool, that’s the best feeling when your first drive doesn’t let you down, now for the tweaking of the little thing but like any hot rod you’ll never be done. Be proud that one fine ride and it’s all done by you!!

Very cool man! I'm getting my 55 close to roadworthy as well, engine is in, suspension done...I'm just waiting on my Transmission guy, he is building a 350 turbo for me. I built my 55 to look like a weathered Hot Rod from the 60's. I have a sign painter doing some artwork on the doors next week.

Yeah Mike did a killer job on the replica of it its great he nailed it I'll be getting it soon. He sure is a cool guy Mike is.

It was such a great feeling to take her out for the first drive. I'm lucky that Miss Kelly is a great Fan of mine lol it was nice of her to stand out in the cold to film me driving by.
Just the other day there was a cougar sighting down that way to lol😁. The 55 still needs a little work but I'm in the driving club now.
