The honest charitable dialogue between you two is the authentic version of what we only get simulacrum of elsewhere. If there were ever anything that would jolt my inactive atheistic heart back into attendance of church services, it would be the likes of you two in leadership positions.
Steven and Greg thank you for this wonderful interview. This felt Christian!! So refreshing to just listen to people who have many different opinions talk to each other civilly, with patience and respect. I’ve grown so tired of the attacking that goes on. I know The Savior would be so pleased with this type of discourse. Steven - Your three questions at the end were especially powerful. Greg - Loved your answers! Great job to both of you!
Comments are a lot less controversial and contentious than Steven thought they would be. I was looking for them and couldn't even find them. That speaks volumes for both people. Great job.
As an adult convert (raised Catholic in a smal NE Baptist and Pentecostal town) and TBM, I found this an excellent discussion and interaction. The Savior that I see in the scriptures is more interested in ‘building bridges’ (as seen here) … especially in these ‘latter days’ prior to His return! … than in tearing others down (Sadducees and Pharisees as well as many in the different anti communities, although they all think they are doing GOD’s will, I am sure … no one sees themselves as satan’s minions). Having said that, we all make mistakes, there was only one perfect man and you both seem to have the intent to Follow Him . Bravo!
I'm a fan of both of you. Great conversation. I love the variety of perspectives offered by MBR! While I don't agree some of Greg's perspectives, I enjoy listening to his perspectives to balance my perspectives, and to better understand the perspectives of some of the older, more Orthodox TBM's in my own ward as we arrive to make out elders quorum a supportive environment for the gay brothers in our quorum

I am old enough to remember years ago when one of the other presidents of the church tried to get us to use the full name instead of Mormon. It was too much for us lazy people and we instantly went back to using Mormon. I think the way they are doing it this time it will stick.
The prophet was Gordon B. Hinkley who made that announcement in a general conference & the brethren made special efforts afterwards. I remember it well.
He's controversial among some people because he thinks being critical of systemic racism is a Marxist plot, that gay marriage is not ordained of God, etc. He's anti-progressive and so progressive people find him controversial. Someone who agrees with that that is lds obviously would not find him controversial.

My favorite Bible story (Old Testament) is Joseph of Egypt. He went about doing good. And all he got for his efforts was persecution. Until his time came.
