      @@AfrikanHairGod thank you, I was prompted by your explanation to research further for clarification. I found that petroleum is the liquid crude oil from which petrolatum is derived. The only time I’ve seen issues is when they don’t care for if it the entire 3-4months because of that fear or because someone told them “it grows faster when you don’t”. Shampoo your hair and if it’s damaged. Dont braid it up at all. That just makes it worse, especially if you’re not taking care of it afterwards.

    I LOOOVE grease okay! Grease nourishes my 4c hair. I use the hemp Indian hair grease as well or Doo Gro triple strength time to time. I use it on my daughter’s hair too. I was using grease with a mixture of this tea tree aloe vera gel I get on Amazon and JBCO on my daughter’s head and it her hair grew so long. She had healthy waist length hair at 4 years old. That was a year ago. Then I tried coconut oil and products that contained coconut oil in it (which is nearly all of them on the market nowadays SMH) and it was sooo drying that it broke our hair off!! So now I’m on a new hair growth journey and back to using my holy grail products. The simpler my products and styles the healthier was our hair!

      Because they believe geese clogs the scalp. Which leads to dandruff. But in reality grease it too big to clog the pores, it simply “covers” it. Think a bucket, imagine a sheet covering the top of the bucket, rather than the sheet being in the bucket. Grease is the sheet over the bucket, allowing air in and out. Coconut oil is the sheet in the bucket, filling it. Not allowing nothing else in or out. Hope this helps

    Would you recommend hair grease when I retighten my Microlocs? Wondering if it will cause buildup. Right now I just use water and a light oil mist.

    I love the sent of most hair grease. My scalp doesn't like anything. It's been years since I've been able to use grease. Since my last psoriasis outbreak on the scalp, I use a cream to nourish my scalp. I use oils for overnight treatment before washing

    Can you please explain how to exactly use it? Should we be using ut right after washing your hair before you blow dry it to retain moisture or we can use it daily on dry hair. And is it best to grease the scalp with it or just coat your hair strands

    I’m glad I found your channel. What do you think about using shea butter on the hair as a sealant instead of grease? I really like shea butter, but now that I’m seeing this I wonder is grease the better option……

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  3 месяца назад +3

      Use what you feel works best for you but I hate shea butter. I don't think it's great as a moisture retainer. The hair is always greasy but dry underneath when I would use it or get clients that used it. Try grease for yourself and see but be sure your clarify that shea butter off cuz it's stubborn

    Can you do a video to show how to apply it? I just want to see how you do it so I don’t apply too much

    • @HighlyBlessedAndFavored

      All you need a lil dab, enough to see a “shine” on your finger. Almost translucent in color, but enough to see to the color. Think the Dax brand, (I use this), it’s green right? You shouldn’t see that deep green on your finger when you go insert your finger, just a “clear” green. That amount is more than enough for your scalp. Now for your strands, I apply a quarter of a dime sized amount, for each section of your hair. So if you part your hair in 4 sections, after you blowdry, a quarter of a dime sized amount is plenty. Just rub your hands together and run it through your hair. Especially ends! Hope this helps!
