  • Buffalo police officer Cariol Horne was fired in 2008 after she says she stopped a White Buffalo officer who was using a chokehold on a Black suspect. Jericka Duncan spoke with Horne, who on Tuesday had her termination reversed, and is now eligible for her nearly $1 million pension.

That’s a reason that it should be taught to the younger generation, that you never give up when things aren’t going as u planned it. Go back to the planning board an restructure your plan. It’s gonna come to fruition if you’re doing or that you have been doing the right things.

Definitely agree! But I believe she feels that its more about getting it right than becoming rich because at this point in the world. Its more about the justice than the money. God will handle the rest, but she should. She is entitled to the full justice and backdate of her pension and get more money from her pension because of wrongful termination.

As a retired police officer in the UK I am appauld at this woman officer's treatment for doing the right thing. Her bravery stands out at the highest level, knowing she may receive a backlash from her colleagues afterwards. Not only should she have her pension reinstated but also the loss of pay for her and her family should have been given, for the trauma they had to go through. I wish her well for the years to come knowing she can walk through life with her head held high. She sets an example for new recruits of why we join the police in the first place, which is firstly to protect life of all those in need of help no matter the situation or who they are.

Thank you thank you thank you for stepping up and not giving up on yourself we know that there are cops out there like you we also know that it is very scary two step forward or to stop a fellow officer from doing something like we witness way too often I'm sorry that it took so long but I'm glad that you finally got it again thank you

Wow I remember this story. I was so disgusted that this happened to her. She was a good officer and she was punished for it.

The lady is a true hero. She needs to be celebrated. A children's book about her would be nice. Race does not need to be emphasized though. Just a story of a good person doing good and triumph over evil.

Indeed if that would've been a bad cop she would've remain on the force.

her experience is why good cops don't stand up against bad cops. From the Boondock Saints movie "Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men." This woman is a true hero, to fight for what was right.

What a story! She is an amazing woman. She should write a book about her experiences as a female black officer back then, this incident in particular and discuss her fight for justice all these years. I'll buy/read that book!
